Small local feel to this hidden gem! The bakery items were delicious and coffee was really good. I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff who helped us with our selections. Today was our first visit but it sure won’t be our last!

For the young lady to come out of the shop to tell me to hurry up for holding line for at least two minutes today. Thank you. Window lady was pleasant. Will not come back.

Im disappointed Ive lived less than a block away from this gem for 6 years and never knew what I was missing! I cant wait to get my hands on a homemade cinnamon roll 😁 one request: I would love to see a Matcha latte on the menu! 😋

Best coffee in Des Moines! This cozy space is lovely, everyone I’ve ever brought here instantly becomes a fan and returns, the breakfast burritos are made with Des Moines’s own Graziano sausage (amazing!) and their cinnamon rolls are made fresh every morning and amazing as well. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu from this delightful, veteran-owned business.

I love this coffee shop, anywhere else I go to get a cold brew it’s always watered down! When i get it at La Barista it’s perfect!!!

La Barista is a rare gem! Not often do you find a place like this that has so many well made baked goods and excellent service. The handmade empanadas are a must have on Thursdays and Fridays. Cinnamon rolls are also amazing! Get them while you can!😋The espresso drinks are great too😄

I love this place! The staff is great! Anytime I have a little wait with the cars in front of me, I get to the window and my regular drink is ready to go. Now THAT is excellent customer service my friends! Wish they had a sixth star 😁

Just found this place not too long ago and so glad I did. Best coffee I’ve ever had and delicious food/treats as well. Met the owner — he was incredibly sweet and down to earth. Baristas are also very nice. Overall a wonderful little coffee shop with a great atmosphere.

Wow, first time here today per Sarandyn’s recommendation. SO GLAD SHE HAD ME TRY HERE. Friendly lady at the drive through and Adrian (sp?) was very kind! Got a green mint lite mocha latte - funny color but tastes like an Andes mint 😍! 10/10

Next time you want a break from the chain coffee places check this place out. A cozy place to have a hot beverage, or get something to go. Many regulars, but I felt very welcome. Fast service, friendly and good food options.

Outstanding LOCALLY owned shop providing amazing coffee and treats by welcoming staff. Its quickly becoming something the kids request to do one the weekends. Breakfast burrito, cinnamon rolls and lattes are outstanding. Keep up the good work! Local is the way to go!!

Great place coffee. Went here for first time yesterday and had the Toasted Almond coffee. Serve food here (breakfast served all day) too but are only open till 3/4pm on week days and noon on weekends.Great service, few tables, cozy, Wi-Fi. Definitely will comeback again

Cute little local corner coffee shop. Theres seating for maybe a dozen people inside, but the drive-thru is very convenient. Owner and staff are super nice, coffee is hot and reasonably priced. Small food selection available, too.

This coffee house is top notch. Fast, friendly service and great tasting coffee. Breakfast quiche and sandwiches and paninis at lunch. Theres a reason theyve been in business for close to 25 years.

Im a barista at Starbucks and find it difficult to enjoy the taste of coffee anywhere else since my tastebuds are so spoiled, but this place blows all other coffee shops out of the water. The atmosphere is refreshingly intimate and the quality is unmatched. I highly recommend giving it a shot!

I have been on an boutique espresso quest in the Ankeny - Des Moines area and recently discovered La Barista. The 25 minute drive from my home in Ankeny was well worth it. The coffee was excellent (skinny 16oz latte), the proprietor very genuine, and the quiche quite delicious (have it warmed up!).
