Great products & service.

The Tavern used to be a famous restaurant in DC until sweetgreen, a local fast casual salad chain, opened up its flagship location here on the west end of M Street NW in Georgetown. Recently, they reopened it (with the help of friends) to serve as a community market selling local produce and goods. However, the most important thing is that in the back corner of the shop they sell their famous fro yo with the best local toppings! Its also a beautiful space inside and out making it great for photographing!

This is a super cute store with a nice selection of artisanal goodies. I stopped in for the free cup of soup for furloughed workers. The soup was great and the staff is friendly. I’ll be back once we are paid again.

A nice little farmers market style store. Produce is pretty local and very inexpensive. There is also a student discount. My only complaint is that they are cashless, which is discriminatory against the unbanked and poor in the area. The hours are also nonsensical.

Very cute healthy grocery store with tons of local fresh and natural products.

I know this shop just opened up but everything is awesome. The space is very small - but they utilize the 550 sq feet very well, and manage to fit a lot of things in the space. They have fruits, vegetables, drinks (including coffee and kombucha) and some refrigerated products as well. They also have some awesome local stuff, including sweet green hot sauce and hippie crack from Baked and Wired. The products are more expensive than what you’d get at Shoppers or Safeway, but it’s on par with Whole Foods in price in my opinion. Beyond that, the staff were super friendly and more than happy to answer my questions. I’ll definitely be back, I just wish I had asked for the staffs names so I can say hello next time!

The Tavern is part of the Sweetgreen family. It’s in a nice little shop of 33rd M Street in Georgetown. Basically the concept is to bring the community closer to vendors and producers. Additionally, they also have soft serve ice cream which was really good. I’m told they will soon start serving salad dishes that Sweetgreen is known for.The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The building itself is well maintained. My wife and I throughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back.
