What an unexpected surprise from an unassuming, small diner! 2 tables for 5, 3 booths and 2 bar seats in total. Good ambience with unexpected background music: tango, bossa nova, jazz. Top shelf diner quality and presentation, with professional courtesy and right level of service (not too much, not too little). Delicious & nutritious breakfast. Bravo!

I had high hopes for this place but was pretty disappointed. It’s a cute little diner but basically just that. The service is honestly so bad it’s crazy we lasted for our food. There isn’t enough space for anyone besides the people at the tables and that is cutting it close. The food was pretty good but the amount of time it took to order and sit was absolutely not worth the wait. Parts of our order never came but we were still charged and received the food after we paid. Several people left before us and honestly, we should have gone with them. If you have another option, definitely chose that over this place.

The food is fresh, filling, and flavorful, the service is attentive (I think I was asked if I wanted a coffee refill every ten minutes!), and this is my new personal favorite neighborhood stop. Yes, theres maybe six or seven tables and a counter. Yes, youre probably not going to get a table if its busy. Yes, your food will take a long time if its busy. But the prices cant be beat, youll have a good time while youre there, and there will be something for everyone in your party, including those with dietary restrictions. I cant recommend this place highly enough. (Get the Mexican Omelette for breakfast! Its the best breakfast deal Ive had in D.C.!)

This is a small business owned and operated by an immigrant, raising her son. The food is prepared fresh every time. It is delicious. The menu is bountiful with choices for everyone to include surprises from other cultures. The prices are reasonable. I would pay 3 times as much just to support them and enjoy the love.

It has really good ratings and I wanted to try it out. It even took me like 15 minutes to find parking. Sadly when I showed up it was closed with no sign of human life. Online it says it supposed to open at 8 am, on the window it say 8:30 but at 9:15 it doesnt even look like anyone is thinking of opening. Wasted my time and kind of annoyed.

Best lunch. Well, I ordered the Lomo dinner... and it was DELICIOUS. Ive eaten it a million times oit of to go containers, so this was almost fancy, on a real dish. But the skirt steak was perfectly cooked. I would have loved more onions but tjats just me. The fries were crispy and the sauce had GREAT flavor.We also ordered the chicken nachos.. that was a massive plate. And no one complained!All in all a phenomonal meal! Cant wait to come back to D.C. We will be back here!

Would give this place more than 5 stars if I could! This is a quintessential mom & pop spot, and the quality of food is amazing. Handmade bread, freshly made guacamole- not something I’ve found at any other breakfast spots in DC. My boyfriend said the chorizo burrito was the best burrito he’s ever had (and he’s had his fair share of burritos!). The place is small and family run, so it’s a refreshing change from the big chains. Highly recommend!

Great food, responsive friendly servers, and cozy atmosphere... That is if you manage to snag a table. Only about 5-6 four-tops and four seats at the counter. Everyone loves this place, so it makes sense. You just have to get in at a good time, it is well worth it!

Probably the best place Ive ever ate at in DC!! Hands down! The service was exceptionally well. The food is beyond delicious. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and a side of salmon cakes and I was beyond pleased with that taste of the food. Next time Im in DC, Im for sure coming here first thing. Do yourself a favor and come eat here. You wont be disappointed.

I come here often with my coworkers. The food is very delicious although there are a few items that I wouldnt get again. I do think theyre a bit overpriced, but sometimes you feel like going out for lunch rather than going to fast food.Its kind of strange to suggest getting french fries, but their fries are absolutely delicious.

Amazing food and coffee. Short stay in DC ended with brunch at Flip it. This small restaurant is the best diner we’ve ever been too (NYC resident). Only down side is that it’s small and has limited seating. Skip the ihop around the corner and try Flip it.

Too busy and completely understaffed. We waited an hour and our order had not been taken.Got in at 12:10 on Sunday. Seated 12:20. Drink order taken at 1pm. We got our coffee at 1:05. But no one had taken our order.They have one person in the front taking orders, bussing, and serving. Its not fair to the worker or customers to be so short staffed.

This is your awesome hole in the wall. Its a small diner, set just off the main cross-road. We came for breakfast... service was awesome, very friendly and food was timely and delicious. Would definitely eat here again if in the neighborhood.

Tiny place but the food is good. Only 25 seats at 5 tables & a 3-seat counter. I only had breakfast, but it was good & at a reasonable price. They serve breakfast all day, but for some reason dont start serving until 9 am

Amazing family-owned hole-in-the-wall diner in the heart of Columbia Heights. I ordered the eggs benedict - portions were large, and the wait staff was super friendly and kept the coffee flowing. Will definitely be back when Im in the area!

Wow! This might just be my new favourite place in DC! What an amazing little place, just a few tables and a very homey vibe. I had their Oaxaca Omelete, which took my taste buds on a journey through the mountains of southern Mexico. 11/10 recommend!Hidden gem thats really cheap for what you get! Also great music choice! My only recommendation for the owners, will be better lighting. Ill be back very soon :-)

This wonderful diner, which all my friends and I call “Luke’s,” offers endless coffee, sweet family banter, and a menu that updates with the seasons! I bring all my favorite humans here and we debate the finer qualities of why the beloved Luke’s is a true gem. Come for the salmon cake, stay for the homey feeling. I really don’t want to give this place any starts because of their employeeThe spanish waitress decided she was going to seat people she knew first before us customers who were there way before.She came up to us saying “are you waiting for a table? Those men will have the booth because they were there first” mind you before she came up to us I heard her say to them “yes you’ll get the booth”She acted confused about the situation saying “huh?”She knew she was wrong because she came up to us with an explanation before anyone said anything to her.I was really excited to eat there but I’m glad I seen how their service really is before I gave them my money.

Its pretty small (only 5 tables and 4 bar seats) so you may expect a wait during busy times. Staff is small so service can also be a bit harried when full, though theyre very accommodating. Try the omlets (esp the Greek quinoa) or the avacado toast w/poached eggs. Worth the wait.
