Just went for the first time today and its great! They have a selection of V60 and other Hario and Fellow products for home brewers along with many single origin Ceremony coffees to buy. If youre a coffee geek, this is your place. The staff were very nice and showed me how to clean the thermos I got, and the Ethiopian pour over I got was delicious too. Definitely going back! Glad to have them open once more.

Great coffee and awesome staff. And I don’t say this lightly. I’ve been to every coffee shop in town and this is my favorite.

This place makes my day every morning. They source great coffees and know what to do with them. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. The culture is accessible, but undeniably quality centric. Its not the experimental, multi-roaster, brew lab type place that I generally look for, but it is the dedicated, consistent, friendly, quality oriented place that Im stoked to have right next to my office.

This place is a good coffee shop. It has up stairs seating and downstairs standing room with bar tops and tables facing the street. There is no WiFi here, they encourage conversation. Upstairs is a dope rendition of DC in the future, a collaboration between artists and architects which is really cool. Im not a coffee guy but the person I was with said the coffee is really good. My chai was alright.

This place is 👌🏽. They sell coffee and some pastries, a welcome departure from Starbucks and some of the larger brands of coffee shop. They also embrace the idea that people should be connecting when they share each others presence. They have no wifi and signs denouncing laptop use in the shop, again, a welcomed departure from the norm. Ill be back!

Good (but not truly exceptional) coffee, in a sterile and borderline commercial atmosphere. Coffee was made with care and was of top quality, and the baked good was decent, but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired.

I love this coffee shop. Filter continues to be the most consistent and most delicious coffee house in the city. Since their other location closed, I go out of my way to visit their original location. The staff is friendly and the space is nice. They also sell and array of coffee from Ceremony, a great company out of Annapolis.

Filter Coffeehouse sells a product that. Makes. You. Stop. The first three sips of the coffee they serve makes you forget your phone, your emails and the egg stain on your white shirt from breakfast. It makes you slow down and think of nothing else than enjoying whatever is in your cup. This is an extremely rare quality in any product these days, especially on a Tuesday morning going to the office. The coffee at my hotel was decent (not really), and the coffee at the office is OK (for a machine), but the coffee from Filter is the best Ive had in DC.Go there. There are also really nice people working there, that care about you and want to give you the best coffee experience youve had today.

Filter coffeehouse carefully prepares coffee roasted by Ceremony Coffee from Annapolis Maryland. Very small shop, timing is key when coming in to place an order. Mostly high tables to rub elbows and create conversation while enjoying your Ceremony pour over on the first floor. There is additional seating on the second level for roughly additional 10 to 12 individuals. Great place to enjoy a flat white, cappuccino, or I highly recommend a manual pour over coffee. I believe supplies are also available for sale behind the counter.

Cute and cozy. No wifi by design. You meet people here and interact as humans. Leave business at the door. The food is okay but the coffee is always a pleasure to be had. Friendly and talkative staff. Stop by for a quaint and enjoyable time. Hours are perfect if you work in the city

I don’t know my coffee well but my mocha tasted (and looked) good! It’s a small two story shop. The bottom floor seems to be mainly for standing & chatting. The top floor has some seating (wooden bench and cheap plastic chairs) and several rather small tables. Not a good work/study spot. I didn’t really enjoy the ambience here, but it’s probably good for a quick meetup.

Filter is one of the best coffee houses Ive been to. They are a little coffee shop but treat each cup with care so that you have a great cup of coffee every time. I really liked the upstairs area. If there was anything I didnt enjoy is that there werent enough seats to sit down when its busy, but youre going to have that with any place.

The pour over coffee options were excellent, settled on one of five, it was excellent. Sat upstairs. Not lot of space, no sector or ambience, so with so many people chatting plus music blaring through speakers, it wasnt relaxing at all. Coffee was superb, but ill get it to go next time.

Super cute coffee house! Great selection of coffee and pastries, reasonable prices, friendly baristas, good atmosphere. No Wi-Fi, but I like that as it ties into their no-laptop policy. Standing space downstairs for those in a rush, sitting space upstairs if you want to stay a while. Also the lemon poppyseed muffin is super good! Definitely skip the big-chain stores and come here instead

They respect coffee! Great pour over and milk-based drinks (cortado, latte, etc). No bad, overroasted, american-type of coffee. Thus, if you like typical american coffee go somewhere else! The only but is their expresso, which is a little bit rough on the throat and have a flat taste. Could be better.

I would have rated Filter four or five stars, but I was honestly a little bit disappointed with my experience... Let me set the scene: its a hot summer day. Im looking to escape my desk for a bit and grab a delicious iced coffee. Who doesnt love iced coffee on a sweltering afternoon? Instead of going to the new Starbucks that just opened directly across the street from my office, my colleague suggests going to Filter, which is a couple of blocks away. (Mostly so we dont run into anyone we know.) We go, I ask for an iced coffee, and to my dismay, what do I hear? They are out of iced coffee! Clearly other customers were thinking like me, since apparently iced coffee was so popular that it ran out. And maybe the staff was in the process of making more iced coffee, but really? Youre a coffee shop! How are you out of iced coffee? Again, I was rather upset... I ended up ordering an iced chai instead, and although it was delicious, its not really what I wanted! Also, while I liked the upstairs area they have, they were playing music way too loudly so that I had to practically shout so that my coworker could hear me. Seems a little contradictory to their message that they dont have Wifi so that you can get work done -- but how is blaring music conducive to being productive? Anyway, overall, I will give Filter a second chance, but Ill manage my expectations so that if they dont have what Im looking forward to, I wont be as annoyed next time. And, Ill probably take my drink to go...

Only reason for not 5 stars is no WiFi (with preachy posters about how youve been looking at a screen all day and you should chat with your neighbor instead). Not too bad though since there is Xfinity wifi within range.Overall great. They have less common coffee favorites of mine including cortados and flat whites. The chai is actually brewed tea and spices and not overly sweet. Slightly pricey but worth it to me.A couple standing tables and a bar downstairs. Upstairs is has tables and chairs and is pretty peaceful during the off hours. But if you come in the morning its kind of crowded and loud. Really friendly, knowledgeably staff.
