I enjoyed my time at this Target because my shopping experience is always quick and easy. I also wanted to mention the great customer service shown by my cashier Ms.Mary.
Target is complet, has all to the home: grocery, decorative, clothes, etc.. I like target always, the store is clean, safe and very good team
NO PARKING VALIDATIONPoor inventory. This is on a regular old Monday.I asked for the product I was looking for, they checked in the back, and said it was too hard to get to and another employee would work on it, but they don’t know how long it will be.This was at almost noon. Look at how few dairy products are on the shelf.Staff continued to prove unhelpful. I asked four different employees where a type of product was and they each told me to find someone who worked in that dept. OR they just told me they “probably don’t have it” WITHOUT even looking or bothering to find where it should be!!They tried to walk off but I said I am not satisfied until we find the shelf where it should be, and I’ve been looking for fifteen minutes.Took all of that to get some help finding one little thing.
Today was my first time ever in this store. Ive certainly been at other locations throughout the DMV, but never at this one. The first thing that I noticed was that it is sparsely stocked with products. This could be due to the fact that this store is undergoing a renovation, but who knows. Needless to say, the place was bustling with shoppers on a Saturday afternoon. What I like about this location is they have a pretty good selection of grocery items. At first glance, it appeared that some of the produce items, and milk was priced slightly higher than what you would find at a grocery store. After walking around for a while,. Would say that at least a quarter of the store is dedicated to grocery products. I came in today and bought a gallon of milk and some dog food. The checkout process was easy as expected.
Its not my favorite target due to location but theres not much to complain about. I always find what I need and they have a decent selection. The parking situation isnt as horrible as other reviews have said. Theres a parking garage and its $1.50 for an hour. Thats insanely cheap people.
Friendliness of Team Members and curated assortments. Recurring issues with out of stock essentials such as produce and dairy items as well as dry goods.
Very rude young lady working in electronics and I was told she was with target mobile which is no excuse I was told she could not ring me up unless I bought electronics and I had 2 items from the area which was a phone holder and phone charger didnt get her name but it was the African American lady with a bad wig on with glasses. I was visiting from Chicago on Sunday October 17th approximately 12-30 pm -1:30 pm . I will be calling the corporate office
Buyers we aware the prices in Target are going up every week and its terrible and make sure you know the prices of your items because the shelf price and the register price can be different at times.Security was following me for no reason so I had t let him know you are following the wrong person. I catch more people stealing at Target and I do not work there.
This place is super convenient!!! Really appreciate this place...
Ever since this Target added self-checkout, theyve relied solely on it. At most, they open only one regular checkout line if self-checkout gets long. Better off going to the CVS across the street.10/7/19 update: this place either needs to solve their self-checkout problem or open up more than one regular cash register
The wait to pay is 10 to 30 minutes depending on the time. Most of the payment points are without staff and half of the self check out of service. In addition, you have to pay for parking.
The prices and inventory were better than expected. Would want to return with greater frequency.
This is not my nearest Target, but Ive gone here a couple times to get specific items that this branch carried. Each time I went I appreciated the time the people at customer service took with me to make sure I got what I needed or was looking for.
The Customer Service Rep (Luna) was very helpful.
Shantelle (Chantelle?? Im misspelling this i think sorry!) who was working the register today (Friday!) at 8pm at the Colombia Heights Target was SUPER helpful and really nice! She answered my questions about sales item returns and I was like oh thank GOD because I canNOT spend this much on swimsuits that I havent tried on yet :( I really appreciated it and her kindness was literally a bright point of my rainy and grim day. THANKS SHANTELLE!!! sorry for misspelling your name
I was shopping today at the Washington D.C target store and was purchasing gift for my family I found some nice things and for a really good price. I went to check out and the items were ringing up different from what the price was upstairs I explained to the cashier he called for a manager. The manager name tiffany came and refuse to change the price the for two of the items but change it for the other too items. I continue checking out because I didn’t want to wait to long after I was done checking out I went upstairs to take pictures to show the manger she still refuse and walk away.
They don’t pick up the phone when they call. The place is always a mess. I only the cashiers are nice there.
Lines was lil long need more cashier less people on the floor but other then that
I didnt receive the correct product. I ordered an extension power strip with a braided cable and an angled plug. It was supposed to be a GE brand product. I guess I should have checked more closely when I picked it up, but I actually received a Philips brand product. It was very similar, it also had a braided cable, but the plug was not angled meaning it is very difficult to use for my use case. The item pickup is not useful if we cant expect to get the correct product.
Courtesy and friendliness of staff together with having a variety of needed products.
The pricing at the register didnt match the pricing on the shelves, the shelves were mainly out of stock and the self checkout has been operating for the past 3 months with 6 registers when there are 12.
Super convenient location, as this is in walking distance from where I live. Usually pretty well stocked and clean. I love their wine section and frequent it often. Self checkout is pretty painless, however when its down be prepared for a long wait as they usually only have a couple of cashiers working.
The entrance to this store is inside a shopping mall with some other stores including a Best Buy and a Marshalls. Outside the mall are often a lot of homeless folks panhandling, which isnt uncommon in the city in most big cities. The store itself it two floors and there is a cart escalator for easy access to both. There is a Starbucks and food counter at this location. The real highlight of this store is definitely the beer and wine section which was added on a few years ago. It can be a crowded and busy store and the lines can be long, but they usually move quickly.
The people that rated 5 stars are scam for target, and I said it right SCAM. I went to this target and the people were rude. I asked where the air fryer was (which is all I came for) their response was somewhere over there smh. The cashier was okay though.
I love this target, they finally opened a self checkout and I am so happy that I don’t have wait in long lines now and the staff is very helpful
Sometimes when you approach employees and ask them a question they act you are really disturbing them and thats not right. But there are some who are very helpful. I try not to shop at that Target.Recent visit I noticed price increasing, so beware.
Probably the worst target I’ve ever been to. Every time I have been here, I have had to wait at least 10 min to check out. On a busy Saturday you would think they’d have more then 3 cashiers. Poor management that I’ve never seen at any other target.
There was a long line at the puck up counter but I waited less than 5 minutes to be serve . Thats efficiency.
Its nice to have a big store like Target within downtown. The aisles arent huge and the lines are longer than what youd find in the suburbs, but the amount of available parking is still obscene.
Good prices, I found anything I want
Love the two floor experience! Everyone here is super helpful and great! Fast lines!
This Target location itself is great for shopping and has a great selection of items. However, my experience here a couple days ago was not so great with their customer service. An employee at the customer service counter was really rude and had a bad attitude towards me and my son when we were coming to the counter just to ask a simple question about parking they do not validate parking but the parking garage is pretty inexpensive in this Target location as is. The employee said in a rude tone hold up wait Im not ready for you as we had to wait in line to ask a simple question anyways.
Target has almost everything you need in one place so that is a big draw and why I gave it 5 starts. The dressing room is an experience. Is it a good or bad one? I cant say because those terms are subjective and it depends on your own experiences.Dressing Room Rules:You can only bring 6 items in at a time. You can not bring items like belts. You can not stand in the hallway of the dressing room to provide your thoughts on articles of clothing that your friend is trying on.Maybe the lack of trust from Target and the heighten level of their dressing room security is a result of our need for convenience. To make the ease of self-check out possible we give up our trust in others and give into security.I just came from the Manifesto exhibit at the Hirshhorn, so I could help but write this review. See the exhibit if you can!TL;DR customer service is a hit or miss at target. There are some really great employees that make you want to come back and there are others that are alright but not bad.
I shop a few times a year at this Target and enjoy their clean, bright and well stocked store. After my visit this week, I have one more reason to shop there. Two of the three employees I asked for help took the time to understand what I was asking. They were quite knowledgeable and eager to help. They must have been working for the store for at least a year, as they each had the information I needed at the ready, did not need to call and ask anyone else. Jakina, who was staffing the self check out stations was especially efficient and helpful, a credit to the management.

I was promptly assisted by the team member & she was pleasant.
This location is close and always has things we need in stock. I find myself grabbing food every month from this Target. It has two floors, well organized and super convenient. The staff is friendly and the lines move quick. They usually have a phone charger but due to corona that has been taken away. Only complaint I have is that the insides of the baskets are usually filthy.
My order was ready within the 4 hr window. When my sister went to pick the order up she didnt have any run arounds. The order was ready to go. Something I appreciated a lot.
This store needs to better enforce mask wearing by its employees, some of whom seem to think it’s acceptable to walk around the store without covering their faces.
If you have an international id issued by government, you cannot buy beer or wine. I spent 2 hours, explaining that it is not written in their alcohol policy. The only answer was we will change it. And they suggest me to go Giant which is a way better store. By the way, all 5 stars reviews have same wording with a different name. They are clearly trying to increase their ranking by fake ratings!
Target has a 3rd bathroom with a door that you can lock from inside & its between the 2 regular bathrooms & I go there to wash up in private without worrying about getting killed or framed. Check it out next time you go!
This Target does NOT have a parking lot. You have to pay to use the parking garage and Target does NOT validate. Also they dont appear to have the modern tablets that help you find out if a product is in the store which is also a huge negative. Its nice that the store is big and clean and seems to have a lot of stuff but parking should be validated with a store purchase.
Quick, convenient, and easy.
Cvs not recommended
Usually not the best on stock but the staff is nice and the store is clean.
It was easy and friendly, and particularly useful right now when you dont know if stores have what you need. Also, the lpickup function allows you to pay online, just pick up with very little contact with Target employees. Perfect right now.
Clean store and bathrooms. Employees all friendly and helpful. Prices are right. Quality merchandise!! Visually attractive displays of merchandise.
This store is very convenient for me due to the location. Target has good products and good prices. Clean and workers are professional. Spent a lot of money here.
Selection, service, and price.
This store gets more ridiculous on a daily basis. They’ve closed down the self checkout to force you to wait in the long lane lines. They only have 3 lanes open with 10-15 customers in each line. Normally the shutdown the lane lines and force you to stand in the long self checkout. Self-checkout normally moves faster, even when the lines are long when compared to the lane lines with an associate ringing up your items.
Terrible costumer service, are they even hiring? Because there are literally 2 cashiers working and lines are reaching all the way to where womens sanitary stuff are. Are you kidding me? Plus the self check is exploding? I see workers standing around instead of working. You all need cashiers, and fast ones. These ones acting like they came to manufacture the cashiers or some. Kike seriously hire people or if you have them put them to work. I been on line for 30 min already.
Only one bathroom in a huge store like this. You would think there would be 2. Huge line to use the restroom for the family restroom cause the men’s restroom seems to be closed for no reason. Gonna have to hold it.
As far as Target goes, reasonably small with a proportionally sized inventory to match. Dont get me wrong, it isnt a bad store - just urban and smaller. Parking is underground, and not free. There are large elevators so you can wheel your shopping cart to your trunk. Occupies most of second and third floors of a mall. Not bad - also nothing to get excited for.
The in-store experience is most important to me. I really value the ease of navigating through my store and speediness of check out.
Im a fan of Targets in the city. When I lived two blocks from this location, Id go all the time for groceries, pillows, etc. Overall, this is a great store. For a city store, its big (two levels), has a food area, and there are plenty of staff to help you. If you go, here are two things to know:1) Fitting room: Despite having mens clothing on the second floor, only the first floor has a fitting room.2) Staff: Most are amazing, but every once in awhile, you will encounter a staff member who is shockingly rude and abrasive.Overall, this is a great store!
I called the store to speak to the hiring manager. It’s 10 am why are they being so rude this early in the morning. It doesn’t make any sense I’ve called several times this week and only got to speak to someone once. And that one time left a bad representation of the store
I found what I was looking for
Easy to see right off 14th street servicing North West and the adjoining areas of Washington DC. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance to. Clean facilities. Public Restrooms. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. We will most likely be going back.
Compliments to the team at Target in Columbia Heights. The folks there went out of their way to smooth out hitches with my purchase of a Schwinn bicycle. Very much appreciate their work on this.
Poor, poor customer service!!!! The staff are ALWAYS INATTENTIVE, RUDE AND SOMETIMES ACTUALLY ANGRY WHEN HAVING TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME AS A LOYAL PATRON!!! Im extremely tired of this reoccurring experience! The location is convenient but I usually avoid going to this location unless I ABSOLUTELY have to!
Perfect place
Good prices and I love your sale prices and express line its faster than the Cashier lines!
I went there and tried to price match airpods and they tried telling us that Target does not price match with Amazon, even though the airpods were shipped by Amazon. Will be going to Best Buy from now on. (my bf and I have both worked at Target and know that what they did is not correct)
Super ghetto. Cashier experience was slow painful experience. Ambience is so chaotic. Ratchet. Just Avoid this place.
Its fine - its a regular target. The good news is it is across the street from the Metro (the only one in the DC area, I think); the bad news is that particular Metro - #ColumbiaHeights - is surrounded by an open-air drug market. ( Cops know: - they say, hey, we chase them out; they come right back) Fortunately, there has been only one shooting so far this year (yea!), but keep your hand on your wallet, and be prepared to walk through a lot of second hand cigarette smoke between Metro and Target.
The only Target in DC. Also the worst target in DC. Does that mean that perhaps this is also the best Target in DC? Not by a long shot.Biggest complaint of this location is the overall cleanliness of the store, and the awful long cashier lines. It’s not unusual to see the checkout line snake around the self checkout line and double back a few times. On these (common) occasions I just drop the items I would have purchased and leave the store.
Much larger Target than the one on Wilson. However- we had an issue where they wouldn’t honor our return for full credit, even though I had bought it earlier in the day. I had both the item and the receipt, but they only wanted to give us credit for 1/2 of what we had paid since we purchased the item at a different store, and they said they needed 24 hours to process the purchase. Sassy cashier told us it was all stayed in the detailed return policy online, which is not true. A month later, we returned the unopened item and still were not able to get full credit. Target has lost a customer.
The target on 14th street has nice clothes and other accessories at great prices. And the people and employees are always trying to help make the shoppers experience pleasant.
The Columbia Heights Target is a great stop for groceries and home goods. Its a fantastic resource for the neighborhood, and the multi-level construction offers a lot more floor space than you usually get with downtown Targets. Always feels clean, but checkout can be a bit of a wait during rush times.
Sign on top of shelf said 50% off. Item normally $44 was $34. They didnt care. Its always that way said the lady at checkout. The Starbucks (owned and managed by Target) has cockroaches crawling on their baked goods - at least they used to. I havent eaten there since.
Overall excellent customer service.
I had a very concerning experience in the mens department. I moved some tshirts to take a size medium and did not place the shirts exactly perfectly back and this employee started harassing me both directly and under her breath. I asked her for her name as was not wearing a badge, just one of those red target worker shirts. She went silent. She would not call her manager either. I found a potential manager near the checkout area and notified her of the incident. I was so distraught. Especially as I anticipated leaving my new freshman off to college and heading back to the west coast. Already a hard day and Target should not make it harder.
Staff is friendly, the lines are always long no matter what time I go there. The location is convenient. The people who work in customer service are nice. Pretty expensive. They sell just about anything you want.
The biggest and best target I ever been to. They have absolutely everything you could think of, definitely consider a one stop shop, including spirits.
Checkout counters inadequately staffed - only 1 was working and it was mid-afternoon. The self-check out had 3 employees around but 2 of them refused to help when asked, leaving people who needed help because the machine wouldnt read a bar code, etc. to one person who was overloaded. .
Pick up was easy
Convenient
I had a very bad experience this store. Associate name Sharon was very rude at self check out standing 3 feet behind me while I was checking out with her arms folded. I told her that she doesnt have to watch me I can pay for anything that I came to purchase. She stormed off mumbling when I asked her name 4 times she wouldnt give it to me. I asked for the Store Manager of course he/she was not there. I spoke with Chris the Manager at the time who was looking at us the entire time and did not say anything for the Corporate phone number. I called but very sure nothing will be done. Thats the third time I encountered a rude Associate. Corporate operates just like this store. No professional service. Not satisfied customer.
Very quick. The gentleman who help me was so nice!! He made sure my order was perfect!
Selection and cleanliness are fine. But the checkout is always a mess. They make you line up in a big line only to later disperse you to lines directly at the registers, which take forever. Also, stock guys really dont care about the customers. I couldnt get into three aisles because the stock carts were blocking them will stock guys were chatting on their phones. In most places customer comes first, but not at this Target.
I took a taxi for 20 minutes to make it to the store 10 minutes before closing to buy Airpods worth $199, before taking a plane back home. Just to get to the electronics counter and be told they had just closed their register. I asked for support cause I was already at store and wanted to buy the AirPods and nothing stated that electronics are only for sale till 10:50pm.The manager told me it was already to close to closing and that I had to leave. The Guard downstairs told me that they always close early. Will never come back to this store again.
Ive never really cared for this Target after I realized they were charging for their parking, and thats how they want to make their money off of people in the city.the first time we went into their parking garage and found that out and their rates are high on top of that I knew then I would never come back if I couldnt get a decent space in front of their building or have some other wait mode of transportation.Im happy they are here for the people who need them but I will prefer to go to The Targets in Virginia, or at the very least Maryland where parking is free and supplies are plentiful.Because Washington is in such need for places like this they go through everything like locusts. They never have enough stuff in stock because they sell it so fast. They didnt have anything we came to get today it was all gone.My mistake for not going to Virginia where I ended up going to one of my favorite Targets and found exactly what I was looking for.Dont get me wrong if push comes to shove I will go to any Target even this one over going to a Walmart any day.I will NEVER under any circumstances ever give that EVIL COMPANY money.I dont care if they are the last place on Earth I will NEVER EVER go to a Walmart. I dont care if what I needed was next door to one.I will go out of my way and find a Target.
I dislike going to this Target. While it generally has everything you need from clothing to household items to grocery, its always messy and crowded. The lines for checkout are always long and there never seem to be enough cashiers. I can usually find what I need, but it gets so crowded and busy on the weekends that a lot of items go out of stock quickly. When I didnt have a car and relied only on public transportation, this target was my only option in the city. Now that I have a car, I usually just drive out to the suburbs to a less crowded target.
My experience was mediocre at best. The store only had 2 of the 8 items I was shopping for and the cashier was dry and not friendly at all. I had to tell her to have a nice day and when I said it she looked at me crazy and like she was mad about it. Go figure.
Smooth order and pickup
Nice clean store, finding things was easy but as a new mother they dont carry a variety of baby products so I had to settle for what they had (some of which dont have the best reviews). But the staff was helpful. Its a good store.
I like target but this location is really poorly managed with regards to the home/furniture section. The shelves are never stocked well and there are always huge lines of people at check-out. On the up side it is a fairly large Target so its easy to move around. The smaller items (grocery, clothes, etc.) seem to be stocked alright. I wish there were more locations in the DC instead of this one which everyone flocks to.
Very poor...very, very poor. A total ghetto. As for attitude of the staff, I can NOT say enough.I walked in at 9:30 am on a weekday. Most of the automatic check out were out of order. People standing waiting for cashiers and there was none. This store is nothing but a nuisance for the area. I suggest it is replaced by another with more customer service in mind.I shall not shop there anymore.
I have had nothing but positive experiences at this Target. It is pretty darn convenient (across the street from the Columbia Heights Metro station). After moving away from Minneapolis, its refreshing to have a taste of home that supports the community!
Great location in DC. I’ve been going for years and haven’t had any issues. I will say the weekends are super busy, especially Sunday but that comes with the territory.
There was one person handling returns and pick up and the line was extremely long. It would have been quicker to shop which makes this process not worth it
I love this Target. It is not the biggest Target and they dont have absolutely everything in store - but they are super friendly and helpful and will order anything thats not in the store for you. Great customer service!
