RUDE!!!!We are from South Carolina. We tried to make an appointment for my daughter who is in college in Waco to get a front end alignment and to have an ac blower motor replaced. The lady who answered the phone is the rudest individual that the good lord above ever put breath into! She stated that the car would need to be dropped off, they don’t do appointments, even though their websites says they do. We explained to her that our daughter has classes and a job, and can’t just freely drop her car off. She said that she was welcomed to come wait, but she would probably sit there all day long. How hard is it to set an appointment, since you have time slots on your website? How hard is it to be polite to someone trying to give you business? I will NEVER use this shop! I will happily spend the extra money taking our car to the dealership or big box stores! So much for trying to support local businesses!

Took my truck in to have it diagnosed. Paid $80 for the wrong diagnosis. $1500 in parts later and I still have the same problem. 100% would not recommend this business.

Went there because my check engine light came on and my engine was rattling, the water pump, fan clutch, and serpentine belt was replaced. Left it up there Wednesday 7/7 walked home, then walked back up there on 7/8 to pick it up... cost $938. Soon as I leave the check engine light comes back on and ac stops working. 7/9 I take it up there, walk home, then walk back up there to pick it up after the thermostat is replaced...cost $161 with an included discount of $20. Now my vehicle wont start at all. Im absolutely disgusted and disappointed with this company and would caution anyone from using them to fix anything.

Its Good for a simple fix, this is not really the place for cars & trucks with major malfunction.

Beware!Sorry for the long read...We brought our truck to them in march now that i can write a less emotional review here we go...We went in on a tuesday for front end work. We asked for the bushings to be replaced and for an alignment we were quoted a couple hundred and thursday pick up.. Thursday rolls around and they still havent started on the truck. We drove by and the truck wasnt even there😳🤷 We called friday and they say the tie rods need to be replaced as well and its going to be $1300. My grandma was very ill and i needed to make a 3 hour trip asap. So we agreed to it. They said it would be completed saturday. Then on saturday we were told monday. My grandma passed away that saturday 🙇. We finally get the truck monday and are about to hit the highway and our right tie rod came loose! We were only going 30 mph thank god but it still felt like we were in an over loaded washing machine being thrown around. We had it towed back to them and explained what happend when we were told they never touched the right side tie rod😳🤦 my husband advised the carter pin was missing they said this truck doesnt take a pin🤦 then the boss looked under the truck and saidoh yea it does take a pin they replaced it and we left. And we will never return! I have never had an experience like this in my life. They seemed genuine however the experience has left me very scared to go to any mechanics. I cant speak for anyone else however if you have a truck with a small lift dont go here! Thats the reason they said it took so long a lift makes it difficult and now my service 4 wheel drive light has been on since we picked it up but hey. They dont have anything to do with that🤦🤷Response to owners response:I have tried to email yall as you requested.and it says its a bad address😂 its yalls website😐🤷

My daughter took her car in. She was told 10 am. The next day. She had to work so my husband and I called at 10:30. Am. And asked if it was ready. They said no but almost. I asked how long? They said noon. At 2:30 pm I called and it wasnt ready. Why I asked? They had the wrong brakes and had to shave them down and the he implied I should stop calling. He would call me. I picked my daughter up from work about 3:15pm and explained. We looked up brakes and rosters, shaving and replacing and were concerned. So we went to the shop. We asked the man at the counter if shaving was safe and why they did not have the proper roater. The mechanic working on the car heard us and said no they had gotten in a defective part and had to send out for a new one. So we waited until 5:30pm. And the car was done. The bill made no sense. It said 48. $ for parts and 750.$ for labor. And the guy behind the counter claimed he gave her a labor discount. Also the 2 hours we were there he keep make snide remarks about us to the other customers. He was a very unpleasant individual.

Solid group of people doing A+ work. Prices are extremely fair and they treat you like a person not just a dollar sign. I’ll continue to take my vehicles here and recommend them to anyone looking to get repairs done.

While the price of the alignment cant be beat, I never got the service done. I called the day before and scheduled an appointment for 8am the next day as I was assured if I was there @ 8am I would be the first one in line. I arrived at 7:45am checked in and left my keys, however by 10am my truck was still sitting where I parked it. I asked how much longer I should expect it to take and was then informed that there were 3 other alignments from the day before ahead of me. Which he could have told me upon sign in so I wouldnt have wasted my morning sitting there and rescheduled. Very nice ppl, I just think they are taking on more work than they are equipped for.

The mechanics were nice and great at explaining, the prices were fair and even though I kept calling to get updates about my car they put up with me and treated me like family

I originally really appreciated how they did business the first time I took a vehicle there. The last two times I have taken a vehicle in, I get promised that it will be done by x time. Both of the last two times they have been late, not by hours which is understandable, but by days. And on top of that, there has been zero communication on their part.

Often times when you go for one thing, they find other things that cost $$$s to repair in addition to the problem you went for.

My fathers car ran hot due to a stuck thermostat, the fans werent working but the problem was the thermostat stuck in the closed position Im on a walker and my dad uses a wheelchair, plus my sister and her grandson were with us, we added antifreeze-water but thermostat wouldnt allow any coolant into the engine, I called a wrecker and was about a mile from this shop and Id used them before, shop manager called and said Id have to replace the fans before hed even check the thermostat, the fan assembly cost 400.00 alone, labor and parts he quoted was 924.00 he became agitated when I asked if he could just change out thermostat, but he must have thought hed give us discount of 50.00 so the total now was 877.23!!

Dont usually do reviews but! Cool staff got me scheduled for an oil change and a couple other services, but I was going on a trip and communicated that to them yet was not contacted at all when my car or if my car was ready . Told them when I got off (of course after they closed) but a phone call wouldve been excellent. Any other place in Waco contacts you when your car is done. Frustrating but not a deal breaker I guess.

I brought my car in for what I thought was going to be minor work (the sway bar linkage) but it turned into major transmission and motor work. I just got my car back tonight and I am VERY pleased! It was a rocky start but Devlin went above and beyond to fix the problems. I especially want to say how much I appreciate the mechanics. You all did an amazing job!

Hands down the best auto repair in Waco. Devlin and his staff are very knowledgeable and professional. Great customer service, was busy but still got my car done in a timely matter

This review is long overdue. I took a wheel in for repair. They told me it would be taken to a third party and be back in two days. Three days later they said there was an issue with paint and it would be another day. After four days, they still didnt have it. I called. This entire time I was the one making the calls. They didnt keep me updated at all. They told me it still wasnt ready. I told Devlin, the owner, he needed to make it right by not charging me and providing a spare until I got my wheel and tire back. He said hed only charge me what the third party charged and wouldnt provide a wheel. After that, I drove to the shop to expedite the process. He refused to talk to me in person, but I got the staff to provide the number of the third party. They got my wheel to me and told me they werent charging Devlin after it was a day late. Devlin said they were still charging after it was three days late! Devlin acts like a good Christian man, but hes a spineless lying worm whod throw his own family under a bus for a nickel. Garbage business. Garbage human being. The only good reviews he gets are probably from people who arent car savvy. I listened to them screw over people while I was waiting in the lobby. Been a few months ago, and it still irritates me.

Ive known Devlin for years but didnt know he owned this shop. Reasonable prices, fast service, and good people who have always done the right thing. Dont hesitate to see for yourself.

Took my truck in to have a few things done. They said that it would take 2 days to complete. After 2 days I called to check, they hadnt even started but said it was the next one in. I was like no problem I understand so 2 more days go by and they still hadnt started I was mad so I made a fuss. The guy assured me that it would be done in 2 days. So I wait again and I gave them 4 more days before I called. It was a total of 8 days without my truck and they still hadnt so much as moved my truck. I was livid I came and yanked my truck from them. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST

Devlin and his crew are top notch mechanics and are very upfront and honest with recommendations and solutions. Reasonably priced repairs and peace of mind knowing that you can trust them to fix your vehicle right the first time! They have saved me hundreds of dollars in repairs and their free pre purchase inspection saved me from buying a total lemon.

I go there all the time to get different things done on our vehicles. I really appreciate the work and honesty thats always given.On todays visit, I wasnt attentive to the tires being in need of immediate change and they showed me the two tires and explained the reason why it needed to be done immediately. Well, I am taking care of it right now and truly appreciate that. It wasnt about getting extra $ for the store, it was about looking out for someones safety.

I wont take my vehicles anywhere elseAlways work done right and extremely honest and fair. Ive had two occasions now that a repair was done and I wasnt charged anything because of their honesty and integrity as a shop. Thats the key thing I look for in an auto shop and Ive found it in abundance here. Devlin also knows his customers by name which says a lot. Ive head him on the phone while Im waiting and hes always sympathetic and willing to work towards a fair solution. I think he feels like his customers are his friends and thats certainly the way I feel!

The office staff needs to learn some basic customer service and learn how to treat customers with dignity and respect. They over promised and under delivered. We were told repeatedly that our car would be ready over three days, each time we called for an update, the front staff sounded exasperated that we called. They didn’t even fix the main problem, but we paid over $600 for them to fix a few small things. I would recommend taking your car to any other shop in town. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This place is amazing. Two of my run flat tires and wheels were busted due to a curb and they were able to quickly get us a rental car, order parts, and said everything will be finished by Monday. I live in Austin and was driving to Dallas for a Drs appointment. They were caring and friendly. I would defiantly recommend this place!

Awesome staff, service, and attention to detail.Came in with a bad carrier bearing. They found a bad bolt in the rear yoke as well. They retapped it and replace the bolt, changed it the u-joints for us while the drive line was out, and got is back on the road the same day.Good, honest folks.Thank you again Texas Star Tire and Auto for the great work.

I left my car for a oil change and a front end alignment at 9 am . I waited but they never called me. At 430 pm I called and they said they couldnt do a oil change bc it was leaking oil so bad It was empty of oil. They said I needed a valve cover gasket before they could do the job. I asked if they did the front end alignment and they didnt bc it needed parts . I just had the front redone and I checked the oil the night before. I before I took it to them. Its a SCam !!!!

A friend referred me to Texas Star and I am so glad she did! They were so friendly and knowledgeable. I went for my State Inspection on a Friday and they were considerably busy - but they finished up with my car in a reasonable amount of time. This is my place I will be going from now on!

The AC on my 2014 Nissan Rouge went out. After researching online, I found out this is a common occurrence that Nissan has failed to recall. Anyway, the online estimated fix from a dealership was way more expensive than I was charged at Texas Star.

I caught a ride home with someone and had the truck towed to Texas Star. The work was done poorly, resulting in my truck LEAKING FUEL. Their warranty org told me that it was on me since it wasnt related to the original work even after the owner of Texas Star told me it was their fault. Leaking fuel is a HUGE deal, and I was unable to drive my truck until shops opened on Monday. I had to rent a car to get to and from work, and despite multiple times contacting Texas Star for rental reimbursement, they have not responded.Avoid this shop.__________EDIT:I replied to the email address provided below after receiving a Response from the owner only to receive an undeliverable notification. Fair price, honest work and great customer service! His price and quality work to replace/fix/machine shop an EGR and all that the job calls for was spot on! Ive had my 2004 f250 in there twice for two big jobs over the past 2 years with outstanding results. I know other friends who take their vehicles here too and have the same results!!! You can never please all customers, but Im telling you the employees here explain the job thoroughly, price fairly and if some dont understand it or take it the wrong way thats their loss (based on reading other reviews ). First of all Im from out of town. I reached out to this shop Thursday afternoon, that I needed to have my car towed in. The atmosphere was unclean, and the front desk guy was stressed out, taking call after call, and finally he told one to hold so he could speak to me about my needs. He explained to me after my car was towed in and spending $65, that they would not be able to look at my car till the next day, due to being short staffed. So Friday came, and I called to find out if they started looking yet, and he said they would not be able to look at it till Saturday, because of 2 other cars that had to go out that day, and that they only had one diagnostic tech. I noticed that they closed at 12 pm on Sat., and closed on Sunday, leaving me to evaluate if I probably was looking at pulling more money out of my pockets for it to be towed to Midas (which got it in and fixed it the same day, and even saved me $5 on the 2nd tow bill). Dont go to this place unless you plan on leaving it there for 2 or more days. Owners probably shouldnt put the techs in this kind of stressful situation that reflects poorly to customers and money wasted on towing bill.

Ive gotta say, I was on the fence based on the reviews I read online, just being honest. I took my car in today to find out what was wrong with it and they called me and said it was a switch on my dash. I must have inadvertently hit the switch causing the issue and had no idea. Them calling me, telling me that, and not charging me a dime speaks volumes to me. You know easy it would have been to make something up and charge me? Thats integrity on their part in my book and Ill be returning in the future. A+ shop in my book.

Went in for front end problems they found the fix and took very good care of me. Great staff, they are busy for a reason! I will make sure to use them for service from now on.

Great staff, very highly knowledgeable, i went for brake service on all 4 and they only did the rear because after inspecting my front. Pads they said it wasnt necessary to repair them, saved me a few dollars on labor with their honesty, and that is rare to find, i highly recommend to everyone.

I made a appointment Saturday morning for 8am to have my car looked at for a weird noise but as I arrived the lady at the front desk advised me that some of the workers decided not to show up for work so she assured me that it would be fine so mind you Im the first customer there so I took a seat in the waiting area while they waited for the workers to show up which only like three showed up but not the main people that does the work so I waited patiently for them to work on my car as I sat there people came and left after they had received service. The lady at the front desk didnt have a care in the world about how slow and poor their service was basically I sat there from 8am to 12pm only to end up with no information about my car status and a waist of time. I will never return to that place ever again. Its not point in making a appointment because its no guarantee that you will receive service.

I came here after an eighty year old couple driving an RV pushed me over a curb and off the road. My car pulled left and wobbled. I asked for a tire alignment and then waited for an hour, only for them to come back and tell me my 2003 ford had wear and needed new parts and that since they did NOT align my tires theyd simply add 20 to the 680 dollar quote they gave me. I was polite, and said no, and told them just too align my tires. They said okay and asked if they could balance it too. After 80 dollars and three hours the work got done and my car drives straight, doesnt wobble, the brakes feel smooth and I dont know why but my driver side window which NEVER worked since I bought this car now does. I honestly believe God blesses these people, and despite having to turn down the upsale, waiting a while, and them being a tad unorganized, I will be going back to them for any repairs I need. Excellent service!EDIT: They were not trying to upsell me. They were right, my car needs more work. They are professionals and should be trusted.

I used to go here ANYTIME my car needed servicing but in the past year they’ve proven to be crooks! I bought brand new tires from them and not even 6 months later I had issues. They tried to charge me out of pocket for their errors, their employees under the table work then treat their customers like criminals. Stay away from this place! Don’t let the cheap rates blind you.

I took my 84 Chevy for a front end alignment at 8:30. I went and checked on my truck at 1:30 and it was not ready. At 2:30, I received a phone call stating they were not able to do an alignment. I was told my truck had 3 bad ball joints and gave me an estimate of $770 for repair. I knew this was not true because my truck never moved from the spot where it was originall parked. I sat across the street to see if it waas going to be pulled into the shop. I had already replaced the ball joints on my truck earlier this summer. They charged me $22 for no service. I took my truck to another company the same day, and got an alignment with no other problems noted. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I was driving through Waco whenever I ran over a dead animal that happened to bend back my splash guard underneath my 2014 mustang. After Walmart couldnt fix it I went on Yelp and found Texas Star. They seemed to be busy but immediately worked on my car and fixed the problem within an hour! They were very nice and made sure everything was good to go.

Had the starter replaced four months ago and was told the warranty was lifetime for the part and two years for labor. Fast forward four months when the new starter failed and the vehicle had to be towed in to resolve the issue. When the starter failed, it damaged other parts that had to be replaced as well. All of the issues were resolved at no charge. I am well pleased with the service I received!

Great service. Car went in for an oil change and to check out the brakes as they were making odd sounds. A part was bent in the brakes and they fixed that with no charge. Less than 2 hours until the car was ready even though I dropped it off and they could have had it all day.

We first went to Texas Star to have our brakes replaced. After 2 months or so we had to have the front brakes replaced due to warping. Then a few months after that we had to have the entire van replaced again. So that is now 2 full sets of breaks and 1 half set. Not okI was reluctant to go back but I needed an oil change and a new battery. Two days after I had my battery replaced I pulled into my driveway and turned off my van and my van shut off...no power. The battery had come unhooked and my van lost all power. I have 4 kiddos...what if I had been on the highway and that happen? Oh and come to find out they didnt put my batty hold down strap back on so my battery has just been sitting in my van not held down.Just a few weeks ago my husband heard a grinding noise coming from the breaks so he took it in. Turns out some of the parts were loose/not put in correctly. They fixed the issue and rotated my tires as well. All fine and dandy BUT THEY FORGOT TO PUT ONE OF MY LUG NUTS BACK ON. Who the heck does that? My husband, 4 kiddos, and I were on a very busy highway when my van started pulling due to it being off balance because of the missing lug nut.All in all I would NOT recommend Texas Star.

Terrible!!!! I made an 11:00 appointment, they didnt even get the car in until after 12. Was there for two hours or more just for them to charge me a little over $20 to tell me the ball joints and other things (over $500 in other repairs) needed to be replaced/fixed in order to do an alignment. Only they didnt know I already had those things replaced prior to trying to get alignment.Got the alignment the next day with no issues. Even though the guy from Texas Star called me just to argue about my HONEST review! Obviously, needs some training in customer service as well. This place is a joke. Come to find out Im not the only one who has been here and been told I was needing ball joints, control arms, and other stuff done before an alignment could be done.

I paid 807.66 for them to not fix my heat and ruin my tv i have in my car i will NEVER go back to them..

This place needs to be avoided at all cost. They dont diserve a star but to post this you have to give them one. They lack integrity, they lie, they are lost and not organized. They make promises that they cannot keep. They do not meet their dead line. I took my car there three days ago. They told me that they would try to get to it the second day if they could not get to it the day that I brought it in. I did not hear from them at all during this process. I had to keep on calling to see what the sats were on the car. They told me they would get on it the third day and that it would be ready in the morning. Didnt hear from them at all. I ended up calling at 10 am. They told me that it will be ready in a few hours. Heard nothing back called at 4:30 pm. Found out they still not looked at the car.Resolved by calling a towing company to pick up car and take to another company. I was told this place was great from a church friend. I was disappointed and frustrated. Please if you want to save time and money take your car somewhere else. These people really need to be put out of business, They lack the most important thing whcih is integrity and honesty. Good grief if you have to many cars to work on be honest about it and suggest to the customer another place. The world runs on time and money. Not laziness, disorganization, or procrastination..

There couple of con artists they say something is wrong with your vehicle just to get more money out of you especially if you have repair insurance they will try to say your vehicle have multiple problems to bleed you dry. Definitely dont go there to get a oil change then u will need tires, tie rod ends, brakes etc con artists watch them if do decide to go

I had a flat tire and they took me in even though they were booked. Front desk and mechanic were pleasant and they fixed the tire and had me out in no time.

They are honest with their pricing for the problem that you may have with your vehicle.
