Echoes is the place. This is not your flash in the pan gun store. This is a place steeped in history and knowledge. Robert House is a, pardon the pun, a Powerhouse of knowledge in the firearms industry, capable of looking at the most obscure mark on a military item and, from memory, give you a deep dive crash course on what it means. Eric, the day to day operations person, Once wanted to be a hand model. No one has a better, delicate, grip on handling fragile and desirable items. There is no one better when a soft, subtle hand is needed. The rest of the cast of characters of the place, such as Mickey, the resident curmudgeon and knife expert, make up an eclectic, interesting, space in the style of the old fashioned gun store that is just amazing to hang out in.
Came here with my 14 year old son who loves history. The gentleman at the front was super friendly and wished my son talked to him more. ( he is kind of shy. ) He wants to go back and so do I.
Probably one of the best auction house to score deals, decent militaria and other items. Toys, memorabilia, historical items etc. I bought a book from US Naval Institute from 1870 something for a dollar. I bought like 3 dozen die cast metal planes for also a dollar each. Bought a Mauser and bought a keltec. great awesome place, dont miss out.
Unable to locate a catalogue for auctions and message to e mail address given is rejected. Obviously trading with them is a state secret.
Great place, I went here for a quick stop to buy ammo originally (they don’t sell ammo so I don’t recommend it for that) but instead I ended up staying for a bit to look over all the cool Finnish and Soviet stuff, there is a lot of firearms with interesting histories from all over there even despite its size. Staff was super helpful and knowledgeable about the inventory there.
Bought 3 packs of .22 mag. Rounds at an online auction. What showed up was .22LR rounds in 3 .22 mag. Boxes. When I looked back there were 4 pictures of just the tag on the top of the box none of the side or any of the clear-see through areas because anyone would obviously be able to see it was not as advertised. This is a self proclaimed premier gun auction company but they dont know the difference in .22 LR and .22 mag rounds, yeah right. This was obviously an attempt to show an item you knew was not what the package said it was. I guess I dont have any recourse since the auction rules are what they are, but I will never buy anything from these guys again.
I found this place online while I was bored one day. I decided to go check it out because I love older/ historical weapons. I got there, and I was kind of in shock with the quantity and quality of the weapons they had on the wall. It was amazing. Another review says this, but it really is like a museum where you can buy the exhibits. I would highly recommend going there even if you are just going to look around. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely have to go to one of their auctions and see what that is all about next.
Awesome place and very knowledgeable people. They always have time to spend a few minutes explaining the history or story behind the guns and gear sold there. Definitely worth stopping by even if its just to look around.
Bought a firearm online and had it shipped to them....great service! Pleasant experience all around! Getting ready to use them again as my FFL dealer.
Ive been in there a few times, everyone is always friendly, and I even remember that they had to call the boss man/owner to get me a price on an m44 mosin nagant That they had just gotten in. And they were happy to do so. Im very picky with firearms and conditions and they always help me out with choosing one. They also have tons of accessories/collectibles, so even if youre just someone that loves history its worth it to make a trip. knowledgeable staff. Always nice. Will definitely buy from here again.
Friendly and knowledgeable. Jeremy spent an hour cleaning and repairing my Glock and explaining every part to me. Patient and non- condescending, he showed me the proper way to clean my gun which no one had yet taught me.
I have spent way too much money there. Couldnt help it, they have the best selection of historic firearms available in the Tidewater area. You might find a better deal online but the the small extra you pay at Classic Firearms is well worth it. Online youre never 100 percent certain of what you really get but at Classic Firearms there is no surprise because you get to thoroughly inspect and handle any firearm on display.
It is definitely worth the time to stop in and have a look. There is always something for everyone and it is everything it could be. You simply cant go wrong here.
I have a sks on layaway with them right now. I cant wait to get some other guns. By far my favorite place to go. Its like a museum but you can buy thr displays.
Great store and really friendly staff (Woody was wonderful with my young son and walked around showing him all sorts of pieces and had him spellbound). Highly recommend stopping by!!
Awesome place to buy any military surplus firearms. The staff are friendly and very helpful.
Awesome store, good pricing, super-friendly staff. If youre looking for surplus stuff, start your search here.
Amazing militaria, and fantastic service. Knowledgeable, courteous, professional. A staple of the industry in the area.
Great experience, extremely knowledgeable staff. Helped to set up, identify and auction off an assortment of property left to a widow for us.
Very cool selection of antique firearms, militaria and historical items.Monthly auctions and very knowledgeable staff. For history and militaria buffs, this is a must visit.
Great experience with Robert, his wife and staff. Every time I stop by they are a pleasure to deal with when buying, selling or conducting FFL transfers.
Great place-Cool stuff! But only open Weds thru Sat unfortunately
Great shop for vintage military collectibles. Auctions every month.
Awesome selection of milsurps, almost like a museum.
I miss the days before they became an auction house. Back when the stuff inside was for sale.
Order a couple of magazines but USPS stole the package, never got anything and pretty much lost my money.
Just left there very very rude all I asked was are these auction items and he’s sitting there eating in front of me yelling HOLD ON IN BUSY and his wife saying SHUTUP the old man was just sitting there so we left very rude people
Cant speak from being a customer. But I set up their multi function copier and was amazed at the huge range of old and classic firearms.
Awesome staff, Mickeys the man!
Lots of antiques to browse through.
