I walked into this dealership trying to ask a technical question about a car. The secretary at the front desk did everything possible to make sure my question wasnt answered. She snapped at me that their technicians are not allowed to answer questions. I then asked her if I could talk to the service manager. She again snapped at me saying her service manager was in a meeting until noon. She didnt offer any alternative communication so I walked out. I would never buy a car here.

The Manager was engaging and easy to work with. Walked out with a new car in less then 90 minutes. No hassle in the finance office with hard high pressure menu presentation. Enjoyable experience. This was by far the friendliest, most professional group of folks I have ever encountered in the car industry. I recently relocated from Connecticut to Englewood and was in desperate need of a vehicle. I shopped around with several dealerships however I was turned off by their aggressive nature. Sunset Kia gave me the freedom to search their inventory without the added pressure of speaking to sales, unless YOU want to. I was able to send myself links to any vehicles they have, without dealing with hassling sales calls that typically follow. When I was ready, I called and spoke to Chase and provided him with a list of cars I was interested in. I planned on taking an Uber to Sunset but Chase kindly offered to pick me up which was a tremendous help. From the Sales manager to their finance department I was amazed at their customer service skills and their willingness to make their customers happy. I also needed car insurance, which Chase graciously hooked me up with. After a brief call I secured an affordable policy with minimal effort. This was my first experience with this dealership and it wont be my last! I chose them after getting a referral from my neighbors. I am leasing a 2021 Kia Sorrento and I absolutely love it! My salesman Chase Blowers was awesome and such a pleasure to work with! I was sad however, when my brand new car needed to go in for service due to a minor electrical glitch. Shannon in service was beyond phenomenal to work with as well! I just adore her sweet and bubbly personality! They needed to keep the car for a couple of days to resolve the problem. Always happy having my 2017 Kia Sorento serviced when in Florida for the winter. Service is always done quickly and most importantly their cost are very competitive. Also they keep you updated on the work they are doing and never do anything other than what you came in for unless they talk to you first and have your authorization to perform the work.Plus the fresh coffee and donuts in the very clean waiting room that has social distancing set up as it should be.

Never truly happy with their service everyone I go for something simple like an oil change it always seems they try to say more is wrong with the car where you walk out paying way more than you thought. Seems pretty shady as far as the customer service they appear friendly even when they try to rip you off.

The biggest challenge I have faced since moving to Florida in 2005 is finding reputable businesses that provide the goods and services from businesses that are truly honest, informed and reliable.So with that in mind, I’d like to offer my humble opinion to any new or long-time resident in the Sarasota/Charlotte County areas considering the purchase (or lease) of a new car which for me and my wife was a Kia.My strong recommendation would be to consider Sunset Kia of Venice. Here’s why:We live in North Port and, without naming names, leased a 2017 Kia Sportage three years ago from a close-by-to-us, ‘huge’ dealership. While we absolutely loved the Sportage, the subsequent care, service and treatment we received from the dealership during the lease period of three years were off-the-chart poor and unprofessional. I am basing this opinion on prior experiences from a lifetime of auto purchases from many dealerships.So when our lease was going to end in November 2020, all we knew for sure was that we would not buy or lease another vehicle at that particular dealership. Having not been in the market for a vehicle for three years, we had no idea of what make or model to get. And to tell you the truth, we were actually kinda dreading the whole shopping process.So instead of doing my usual Consumer Report and internet auto research at car purchase time, my wife started putting on YouTube videos every night on our TV of new 2021 SUVs and sedans. We quickly discovered there is an amazing collection of YouTube videos introducing and comparing just about every vehicle imaginable! This was our godsend!From viewing the videos, we decided to get a sporty sedan this time instead of another SUV. It was the new Kia K5 GT-Line model that caught our eye! So with the help of the videos and the internet, all that was left to do was to go and look at the car in person to see if it really was what we wanted.I called Sunset Kia of Venice and was transferred to salesman Max Von Pichl. It was evident from the start that Max was very knowledgeable about the specific K5 model we were interested in but, more importantly to me, he didn’t come across like the stereotypical car salesman like the Bill Paxton character in the movie ‘True Lies!’ He was accommodating and even agreed to see us very late that Friday evening right at their closing time when my wife got off work.When we arrived, Max had pulled the car to the front of the dealership for us. We took it out for a test ride while Max showed us all of it’s amazing features! It made quite an impression on my wife who was going to be the primary driver of the car. So after the test drive we went back to the office, negotiated the terms and price and committed to the car.Because it was so late, we agreed to return Saturday morning to complete the paperwork which Max had fully prepared in advance. We then met with their business manager, Adam Bishop, who guided us painlessly through the leasing paperwork using his cool desktop document displayer. Adam was exceptional as well with his clear explanations, courtesy and patience.Finally, Max took us out to our new K5 one last time and had my wife sit in the driver’s seat and he in the passenger seat as he patiently explained and went through the set-up of the car’s technological features for her. This is definitely one of Max’s areas of expertise and one that we both appreciated since there were a multitude of technological gadgetries on this car. (By the way, no one did this for us when we leased the Sportage at the other dealership.)I hardly ever feel compelled enough to write a review, but I did this time. So if you are considering a Kia, I strongly encourage you to stop by this dealership and ask for Max. I can tell you in no uncertain terms, being ‘huge’ is not better. Great coffee maker and doughnuts while theyre working on your car. Basically the only downside is the mess from constant construction on Tamiami and thats on Florida, not Sunset.

Bought my Kia Sorento Limited in 2014 in Ohio. Moved to Venice in April of 2020. My Sorento had a recall after settling in Venice. Called Sunset on the recall and they were very cordial and accomdating to service my vehicle for the recall. Have since been back to Sunset for regular service on my Sorento. They were informative when my vehicle would be ready and on the money with the information. I will return to them for any problems with my Sorento. Bravo to the service department.

We drove to Venice with every intention of buying a new Seltos but we drove home in a new Sportage. I had called the day before and spoke with Devyn who was very helpful on the phone so we asked for him when we arrived at the dealership. He had a Seltos ready for us to test drive. It was a nice car and we liked it but I wasn’t 100% sure it was the vehicle for us. Then I asked to see the Sportage I had seen online. Devyn quickly brought it for us to drive. My husband and I agreed it would be better for us than the Seltos. Our trade in had been appraised so we began the dealing process. I made a counter offer and then they offered us enough more for our trade that we accepted. We couldn’t be happier with this dealership and with Devyn. Everyone was very friendly and acted as if they truly appreciated our business, which is something we haven’t always experienced at other dealerships. Very friendly people at this dealership. No high-pressure sales staff. Wife visited several other car dealers nearby, but we always came back to this one. She finally purchased a very slightly used 2018 Kia Soul Turbo with 18-inch wheels, sport-selectable automatic transmission, heavily tinted windows, fully reclining and heated leather seats and many other deluxe features from Sunset Kia. We love this car and the service provided by Sunset Kia, and we will definitely consider them again when it is time to buy another new slightly used car.

Like all car sales showrooms, there are a ton of bored looking men, watching your every move, and like all formulaic sales forces, they engage in all of the tricks of the trade. I have been with Sunset Kia since 2011 and have had a few different service reps. I have to say that my new rep - Nate is by far the best! I don’t “hate” having to come in for maintenance anymore!

I would recommend going online and looking up Kia dealerships for price and consumer recommendations. This is the second Kia dealership that is part of a network in Sarasota and Venice.. at both places I was brought in by appealing advertisements for low price car leases.In both places none of it was true. They admitted you must read the fine print. Fine print is not only unreadable but not very comprehensible. Despite what they say the truth is their prices were actually $10,000 more then the cheap base price deals they offered.I feel it is bait-and-switch advertising.They are operating in the letter of the law but its only a quarter of an inch before you slide into the dark side. They claimed they did not offer car loans through the dealership but I would have to go to a a bank that would set my rates depending on my credit.2 years ago the dealer in Sarasota kept me waiting 3 hours by running back and forth into his managers office and returning with unrealistic offers. My advice, be cautious.

My wife does not like buying a car at dealerships due to experiences years ago. However, we had a tremendous experience at Sunset Kia. My wife said it was the best car buying experience we ever had. I want say i had a great time at this dealership, and bring special attention to the salesman bob. Bob is a great guy and a honest guy, he will give you a real opinion, not just sell you anything. If you go ask for Bob i believe he will treat you right even with poor credit. At the end of the day i did not buy my car from them due to being new to credit, which is why i didnt give a full five star. But I will be returning, as even when I pulled out of the deal I was still treated well and suffered no change in attitude like other dealerships.

Wow! Where do I begin, this was a complete waste of our time. We stopped by the dealership by chance; found a car we liked and took it for a test drive. At the end of the drive we asked what the price of the car was, after we were told we decided to come back at a later date and discuss numbers. Before leaving we were assured that the dealership would work with us and come down on the price of the car. The following day my husband and I went to the dealership, we ended up working with a salesmen named Vinnie, big mistake this guy was extremely rude. The car we were looking at was used; regardless of that they refused to take a dime off of the price and after refusing 3 times kept getting bombarded with their financing options even though we made it clear we wanted to finance through Navy Federal. If you want to be disrespected, taken for a fool, and expect to pay the exact price the dealership has set on the vehicle this is the place to be. If you want good customer service with a friendly staff that is willing to work with you, I urge you please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with this dealer. By the way, Vinnie bragged about how he worked at HONDA for 3 weeks prior to working at Kia, due to his own reasons, in this tough economy people think twice before spending 3 weeks at work and leaving. Honda probably had the sense to let him go before too many complaints were made. The guys attitude was very disrespectful aggressive, and illusive. He tried to throw multiple lies at us as facts about the car, and was shocked once he found out we had done our homework.

Cannot possibly say enough wonderful things about the staff here! I looked for a car that would fit my unique situation for several months, and every time I walked into this dealership they greeted me warmly, opened the door, and treated me like family. Last week my husband and I were in search of a new minivan to replace ours. I was rear-ended by an uninsured vehicle while sitting at a red light and being that our van was paid off and 8 years old we did not have full coverage. The damage to our van was extensive and needed to be repaired. After getting an estimate my husband and I decided that the best thing was to replace in it instead of putting so much money into fixing it. We spent a day and a half going to different car lots from Ft. Myers to Venice. When we got to Sunset Kia we were greeted by Andy Washington. Andy was very nice and was very knowledgeable. We decided to check out another van at a Kia dealer in Ft. Myers. The gentleman there was...Well lets just say Andy was a much better salesman and was more knowledge. We ended up going back to Sunset Kia to try and make a deal on the used minivan there. Andy, Ralph, and Louis worked with us and we ended up with a beautiful, clean used minivan that we happy with.

Zach in service did an amazing job getting my fathers Optima fixed and back on the road. I work at another Kia dealership in Indiana and while my dad was on vacation in Venice his Optima had an issue.
