The clutch on my Honda gave out while I was on I-5 on a Friday evening. Fifth Gear Automotive was the only place that was able to take my car. Joseph was readily available by phone, and allowed me to drop off my car after hours. He kept me informed, his pricing was fair, and they got the job done two days earlier than anticipated. It’s been at least two months since, and I’m happy with the work. Joseph is available 24-7 and easy to reach by text. It made communication and asking questions very easy!

They serviced a 2008 Range Rover (new purchase for me) Joseph goes above and beyond with regards to customer service and providing a fare and honest repairs and maintenance. I had them replace the rear brakes and provide routine services. I will be a lifetime customer.

My BMW 328xi wouldnt start while I was out and about on a Saturday. AAA could not get it started and there was an over 3 hour wait for a tow. I called and Joseph went above and beyond to help me. They were not even open and he text me a tow company, I had my car towed to his shop. We spoke Sunday, he told me it was electrical and his mechanic would be in first thing Monday. Joseph text and called on Monday, it was the starter. He quoted me a reasonable price and I had the work done. Our headlights were out and some places wanted $140 just to look at them and the wait time was 4 days . We stopped by this place by chance and they had us bring it next day . I had a chip malfunction that controlled my breaks. The tow guy suggested 5th gear as an alternative to the dealership. I’m glad I listened. They saved me thousands of dollars by finding a used chip (new ones run $2300 without installation or programming). They were fast and efficient and always in communication. 10/10

Given the state of my vehicle when I got it from a relative as a gift the cost of any major repairs was more than the car was worth. Joseph was very professional about it and realistic in the diagnosis even agreeing to hold on to the car for another day or so and connect my to a junkyard while I searched around for another car. As much as I would have loved to hold on to it the best option was to invest in a newer car for me. On top of it all I was not charged for anything, Joseph is more focused on being fair than taking someone for their money.

Joseph and his crew are great! Had an issue where my car would not start after sitting for a couple of days last year. Battery was approx one year old. Had it towed to a shop I used before. They couldnt find anything wrong. And of course it happened again of not starting. So the tow truck driver recommended Fifth Gear. Had it towed thete and two days later Joseph found two wires that needed to be replaced. Starts up great! He also replaced my catalytic converter the other week. Great shop, crew and very fair!! Joseph and 5th Gear were recommended to me by a friend, a mechanic, that I trust. I had gotten a quote from a big name shop in town that I didnt trust. Did the work really need to be done? And at that price? Its an old car and I dont want to keep putting huge amounts of money into it, but I want to keep driving it as long as possible while I save up for a new car. When I got there, I locked my keys in my car. Thus began our business relationship. They had to send someone out to get into my car before they could even look at it. No problem. And no charge. Just a shrug and a smile. They gave me a quote that was almost half of what Id been given previously and told me it was safe to drive, for now, go in peace, come back when you can. I did. They did the work that absolutely had to be done to make it safe, and because they had it all taken apart, they went ahead and did the rest of it for an extra $100 at cost of the parts (it should have been at least $400-500). Joseph said he didnt want me putting any more money into my old car but he wanted it to be safe to drive. Isnt that what a mechanic is supposed to want for their customers? Well, a good, honest mechanic, anyway.

I stopped by this shop after I heard a grinding noise coming from my rear drivers side wheel expecting the need to replace something for a lot of money. Joe and his technicians were able to locate a tiny rock that had become lodged in my brakes, and after a few minutes they were able to successfully remove it. They supposed to do oil an oil change and they didnt do nothing! the oil in my car after five months only from a supposed oil change is black and is very low I had to put four quarts of oil in my car and Im going to have to get a real oil change from jiffy lube. Dont go here. I thought I was getting a deal through bring a Lyft driver, and they didnt do nothing for me.

Not a great experience. Bought a car from them. The car is fine, but 5th Gear refused to deliver the car when the financing was in place like literally every other car place on the planet. They made us wait an additional 5 days till the money was literally sent over in the form of a check.Then when the day came for us to pick the car up, we discovered the owner had driven the car to go to the car auction, and had not yet put on the agreed upon new tires, even though he had 5 days to do it.My wife ended up waiting in their lobby for 3 hours while he got the tires put on and drove it back to the shop.

Really is the dealer alternative! Quoted me $3,000 less than the dealer! Best place to get your European, import, or American car worked on!

I dropped in around 1230 on Friday, 20 Dec 2019,with what I hoped was a five minute quick fix. I wasn’t too hopeful; most shops are full for the day by morning, and the lot looked full. I parked and explained what I needed, and Joseph assured me that unlike the place who had left this job unfinished, that Fifth Gear “Always finishes what they start.”Joseph offered me a seat, but his shop is in a great spot for quick explorations or overpriced coffee, so I said I’d be back. Within twenty minutes I’d returned, and the car was finished. I was upset (but not particularly surprised) to learn the other shop hadn’t just left that part out, they left two of my rear lights out, to which I said, “Wow, I’m lucky I haven’t been pulled over for that.” Joseph agreed, and we settled up inside. I know he could have charged me 3-4 times the amount I paid, so thanks, Fith Gear and Joseph Condorelli! You soar above the other shops I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with. My promise to bring back my Minicooper with any other problems stands; for location, competence, honestly, and price, you’ve earned both my earning and my loyalty.Ok, on January 6, 2020, I saw that same “check engine” light when I started my car, and after finishing the other appointment, around 1600, I dropped into Fifth Gear again, and asked why the light was STILL coming on. Joseph was very kind, and offered to take a look. I once again took a stroll to calm down, and when I returned within ten to fifteen minutes, I was told the problem was not the engine, that my fog lights were out. I asked what fog lights, where, and he very nicely explained what they were for, and when I freaked out about all the fog we have, he assured me this was NOT an emergency, but I could bring it back after making an appointment and they’d then figure out whether it’s the sensors or the lights or both, but that an estimate would of course be provided before he approved the work. He also took the time to explain my dashboard computer icons a bit better, so I would not go into “Ay! Call 911!” every time a light came on. He explained that if it was the engine, the computer would tell me.“How will it ‘tell’ me anything?” I asked.He said it would look like a red engine light, and THEN I should get it to a shop pronto.I’ll be back to have those fog lamps replaced—once I’ve scheduled a proper appointment with fifth gear. FIVE EXTRA STARS!
