After a recent road trip in our van, it started running super rough. We had no idea what was going on. We called around a couple of garages and couldn’t find anything trustworthy. T & L looked clean and professional on the outside so we decided to give it a try this time. This business knocked it out of the ball park for us! They truly are clean and professional and did great work. Fixed our issue at a reasonable price and speedy fast. It’s good to know we have a place to go to now that we can count on. I took my 2000 c230 Benz to them because it had a shifting problem. Within an hour they new what the problem was for sure. They ordered the part for me and installed it they are very professional and friendly they communicate with you and keep you up-to-date with info about your vehicle. There prices aren’t too bad. I went there for my VW Jetta Regular maintenance service. The technician worked on my vehicle was Todd. I must say Todd is super helpful and very skillful technician at T&L Auto Repair shop.They shared the report of my vehicle inspection through link on my mobile I went through the report and according to the report the only major immediate attention was to replace the tires as all 4 tires were bald and needed immediate attention. I told them that some sound comes when I start the ignition (coming from underneath the glove box and last for only 10-20 seconds) please inspect that as well because it was not there in the report. I was told by receptionist (don’t remember the lady name) that inspection on your vehicle has already been finished and re-inspection will cost 86$ for 30Mins and 186$ for 1 hour until they figure out what’s the problem. I was shocked that why inspection was missed. I picked up my vehicle from their store because their diagnostic charge was huge. Receptionist lady sent me the message to rate them on scale of 10. I told her that I didn’t expect that sound inspection to be missed from the technician and now you are charging me additionally. Then my entire experience about T&L changed when I received the call from Jim(owner). He is super gem person and asked me to bring the vehicle. I went there with my vehicle As soon I was there Jim greeted me and asked Todd to re-inspect the vehicle. Todd the technician was on it and he found the problem with Actuator and also advised me that it is not something which requires urgent attention. Jim also offered me complimentary cabin air filter to get it installed in my vehicle. I was super impressed with T&L Auto Repair shop.

The work was superb. Only thing I have an issue with is the labor charge. I came for oil change and I also mentioned that I may need the battery replaced. T&L tested and replaced the battery. They charge labor for both testing and installment totaling $160. I should have just told them to replace it. It would have saved me $80 in labor. Is it standard practice to charge labor for testing? Just wondering because dealership charge more but the testing labor charges are waived if they end up doing the replacement. Pleasecorrect me if I’m wrong but I think I feel like I was charge twice for labor.

You cant put a price tag on being able to trust your mechanic, and Chris is the most trustworthy mechanic Ive ever worked with. He is honest, straightforward, and fair priced about his work. He has no problem telling you when you dont need a service - even if this means that he might lose out on some money. He is also quick to get back to you and to bring you in for an appointment when needed. Sadly I have moved away from the area and havent been able to find a auto shop as great as T&L. But I recommend anyone in the area to come here for great service.

Minor update: This repair shop has been sold to a new owner. My review no longer holds. The shop is fairly similar to most other repair places now.I think I have written 5 reviews in my entire life. I just dont do it. I decided to write a review for T&L because it stands out that much and wins on any scale you put it on.The owner Chris is genuinely the most fair, honest, competent and friendly mechanic I could find outside my own family. I will be moving out of the area soon and I told my wife the thing I will miss most is having a place like this I can trust.

I take my 1999 Honda Accord EX and 1989 Toyota Itasca Spirit Mini RV to T & L for service and repairs. They do a great job, prices are lower than most shops, and everyone is very friendly. I will continue to use their shop for my automotive needs.

FANTASTIC SERVICE...MONEY WELL SPENT!!!Though other mechanical professionals said the transmission in my 2004 Ram required replacement, my trusted mechanic at Dorsos referred me to T&Ls Chris to get an honest assessment of the transmission. Chris at T&L quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me options that did not require replacement or rebuild of the transmission. T&L performed the work in one day and the trucks transmission is working and shifting smoothly. Actually, the transmission is shifting much smoother and crisper than when I first purchased the truck back in 2007. T&L saved my truck, and saved me well over $4k.I will be taking all my vehicles that require transmission service to C&L.Craig

My washer was not spraying water.I took this place BC my friend told me that this shop is really honest and kind and very trustful.When I pulled my car in Chris came out and quickly checked.The way he was checking. Just amazing.I was so impressed.He really know what to look for and accurate to check every possible problems.And one more guy came to help to fix.He finally let the washer worked.I also had a problem for battery corrosion.He kindly helped cleaned for me.After all these work I asked for the money.He said no charge.That was my best thing happened in my life.I recommend this shop to all my friends.Thank you again. 😃😃😃

I generally work on all my cars; first because I like to and secondly because I is near impossible to find a competent mechanic. I had a sound that started recently and for life of me I couldnt pin point. I was initially concerned it was the rear end which is complex and expensive. Chris was kind enough to go for a quick spin with me and took the time to educate me on the problem.It took 15-20 minutes of his time and at the end I asked him how much I owed him; he replied nothing.He is clearly busy and as expensive as things have gotten in the bay area it is hard for any skilled individual to donate 20 minutes of there time. It is a stand by your service and stand by your word approach that is seldom seen. I have no doubt in my mind that Chris knows his stuff.I have found that the hardest part is not when things are going well, but how people respond when things are going bad. While no one person can know everything or get everything right all the time... clearly people with this level of dedication deserve the opportunity to earn our business.

Chris, at T&L is thorough, and doesnt mind taking the time to explain any necessary repairs. Their rates are reasonable, but most of all, these folks are HONEST. If you dont need an expensive repair, they wont try to convince you that you do. I went there once, thinking Ineededa new starter, which could have run close to $300, after labor. Chris let me know that I only needed a $26 starter relay. Cant say enough about these folks.

My 2.5 year old car trunk does not stay up. Took it to Chevy dealer where I bought it new from, they asked for $100 just for the diagnose! Then my husband reminded me about T&L where he took his car to a few years ago and got very good work done. So I took my car there, a few hours later, I got my car back, fixed, with only $150, exactly the same as the estimate they gave me. Yes they are crowded, no sofa to sit, no TV to watch, no coffee to drink, but if you want your car fixed well with reasonable price, without extensive waiting, then they are the one to go to. Totally satisfied.

The owner, Chris, made time to get my breaks done, last minute on a Saturday. So thankful he squeezed us in and was able to get it done within an hour and a half. They are trustworthy, honest and reasonably priced. We take all of our vehicles to him.

Took my Chevy Silverado on a Thursday afternoon with a bad transmission, truck was ready the following Tuesday all ready to go. It’s hard to find good mechanics like this ones here at T&L’s. I couldn’t be any happier with their service.

I had the transmission replaced in my 2004 Chevy Silverado 20 months ago! Then reverse went out! To add insult to injury ... the shop I had it done at went out of business!!! T & L put a rebuilt tranny in my truck and did it basically at their cost because of the situation!! I thought it was a wonderful gesture and my transmission seems to be working just fine!
