The brewed coffee taste is a lot better than other famous coffee shops out there. The shop is also romantic.

This coffee house is unique and of its own. They have lovely loose leaf teas. Im having the mutan white and its a clean tasting white tea with a hint of a berry aftertaste. The wheatberry and farro salad, it is both very healthy and delicious. The cracked wheat had a slightly chewy feel to it which was quite pleasant. The light oil and balsamic flavors compliment the veggies and wheat perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxing with a really great music selection, which isnt what you usually hear on the radio. Nothing better than discovering new artists when going about your day.

Good service and good coffee in this cozy coffeehouse that looks, well, bleak from the outside. If you dont miss the doorway, which is pretty institutional in its concrete blue and white, youll be pleasantly surprised at how inviting it is once you step inside. The barista was friendly, the food options - though minimal - offer a range from sweet to savory that pairs well with the Intelligentsia Coffee.Theres wifi and clean bathrooms, too. Good stop on a road trip, for the first good coffee you can find west of Pittsburgh and east of Chicago, but also to check out the very beautiful courthouse building around the corner on Adams St.

BleakHouse Coffee is definitely unique.Walking in theres a sense of comfort. There is dim lighting and unique furniture and cute decorations. The staff is very welcoming and genuinely nice and waiting to serve. Coming in, I ordered a regular hot coffee with the Lavender and Vanilla Syrup (which is something this Coffee House makes themself).I asked a few questions about the menu and the server (one of the owners) was very helpful. I was able to get seated and comfortable and my coffee was brought out to me.The server was extremely nice; She was a gem!And the coffee was not only beautiful but very delicious! I would say this is one of the best coffees I have ever had.I really enjoyed the service, the quality, the taste, and the environment so I tipped (not required but appreciated and welcomed).This is a place where I will come again and I will definitely bring my best friend, sister, Mom, and or my significant other. This is a favorite.

The vibe here is really chill and the baristas are super friendly. Also I love the song selection. Good place to just have a chill yet productive afternoon! So glad I stopped by. Will definitely come back some more, its just super amazing as a vibe. However, they dont seem to have as much in terms of food as they did pre-corona. Thats a bummer, I hope they continue to get back on their feet! I love this work space.

Wonderful place.

I gave this place a try this morning as it is on my way to work. I thought the place looked very clean, bright and nice. The only person working was on her phone sitting down behind the counter and took about a minute to realize I was standing there waiting to order. The pour over selection was limited to 5 choices and she did not know the country of origin except for the one that an employee grows in their backyard. I tried one that was not labeled with any country of origin. I think the country is Milwaukee. This coffee was also .80 cents more than you would pay at Brew Coffee Bar which is where I normally go. I love to support local businesses but I dont know if I will give this one another try.

Absolutely horrible. Bacon quiche and passion fruit pie, gross. Passion fruit was hard to chew. Unable to finish. Everything looked unappealing. Cashier was just o.k. Chalk board was fun.

Great place to work, ac to keep you cool, bottomless tea with free leaves refills!? Plenty of outlets and big tables and friendly folks working the espresso machine make BH the ideal day time café of Toledo. Nice selection of food too. No need to leave for lunch.

Beautiful shop with huge windows, actually comfortable seats and plenty of tables, great coffee and super friendly service. Im not in the area often, but this will be a great place to meet friends or grab a cup of coffee after a visit to University Circle museums.Phoenix Coffee is one of the coffee shops that you can find near the University Circle. Im sure that at some point, almost any person living at Cleveland has been to Coventry.

This coffee house is already off to a great start. There is a wonderful selection of drinks and food at great prices. They also feature events such as Jazz Night. Its a small location but very cozy.

Great coffee shop I have been visiting for years. Blended Bleak was my favorite drink. But I gravitate to their cappuccinos and the coffee is strong and not to bitter. The location is awesome I can just swing by when I come to town!

You get your own coffee. Everything looks home made. The decor is beautiful. I love it. I dont drink coffee but my parents like it. The tables are so cool. The food was great. Wish I could come back.

I colleague who was visiting UToledo and I stopped by for a quick breakfast. The cappuccino was great. Even though we did not intended to get any pastries, the owner suggested the croissants. I am glad we decided to give the pastries a try. They are homemade, fresh, not to sweet, and more importantly very delicious.

This eclectic coffee shop is trendy and nostalgic at the same time. It is contemporary in design, as well as the paying process. Customer service has an upscale, no nonsense yet caring approach to meeting clients needs. A visit should be on your list for out of towners still dropping off kids to their dorms. Best coffee in Toledo hands down 11/10. My girlfriend and I frequently visit coffee shop to do work and Bleak has by far the best coffee. They also have a delicious breakfast sandwich and waffles. The staff is always super friendly and they let dogs inside.

Really disappointed. Drove from Findlay to treat the family to fresh donuts only to get rudely told they had none. Hubbys coffee tasted like hersheys syrup and my tea tasted like dishwater. I really love small shops like this but definitely wont be back.

Always good, the pastries are always fresh, and the chalkboard is neat because its the wall when you sit next to the table. The guy who owns it is from Europe and hes been serving sandwiches and a lunch menu until about 2pm. They have had a vegan option lately, and the food looks so good. The breakfast they post on Instagram make my mouth water. Coffee and Teas are so delicious.

This wasnt my favorite. I stopped in because I saw bulletproof coffee on their website. They had a house blend and a dark in the vacuum dispensers, but I wasnt offered a choice and didnt realize thats the coffee they used for the bulletproof. They melted some ghee and coconut oil in the micro and poured it on top. If thats what youre used to, you will enjoy this. For me, it was like drinking straight hot oil. I typically make it at home using the blender, which turns it into a creamy concoction of smooth frothy goodness. Perhaps Ill have the chance to try another drink at BleakHouse some time.

I came in last week Lucy made me a berry smoothie and it was fantastic! Better than a Starbucks smoothie.

Bleak House remains one of my favorites of the new wave. I was delighted to realize that a new partnership has been developed with The Displaced Chef recently, who leaves his awesome food truck and takes over the Bleak House kitchen for weekday lunch and occasional Saturday brunch.

Im from out of town and I visited for the first time in awhile and I have to say my experience is always lovely ! Today I ordered a latte with the syrup to make it more sweet. It was absolutely delicious and the barista made it perfectly and listened to how I liked it ! I believe her name was Lucie and I have to say her customer service was excellent. She explained everything very thoroughly and took her time with my questions that I had. I didnt even know they had all of the options that they had !!! I would definitely reccomend this coffee shop. The service is amazing and its always nice to see smiling faces. They also are currently doing a little card deal which is awesome. Next time Im in town Im definitely going to have to order a panini and some tiramisu

I’m so thankful for this little gem of a coffee shop! Whenever I’m back home in Toledo, I try to find a way to stop in for a cappuccino or a tea. The atmosphere is chill and I feel very relaxed as soon as I cross the threshold. I can’t wait until my next visit!

The cannoli I got was amazing! I would definitely stop by and try one. They are made fresh to order and are top notch quality. Everything else was great too, but those cannolis are incredible.

Good stuff! Its a great local coffee shop with a warm and hip atmosphere. Prices are a little steep but its worth it if you can spare the change. They use great ingredients and have a great product.

Great coffee and chai. They use grass-fed milk and have amond milk and other alternative milk available. The treats are beautiful and tasty. Definitely worth a stop in. No big signage outside so look for 612 in the center of the block.

I went to this place last year and again today, and its even better than I remembered! (Im from out of town) I never even use syrups in my coffee - but housemade lavender syrup in my cold brew...hello! And organic half & half sitting out to use, thats even rare on the east & west coasts! The lattes are fantastic as well.Lastly, if anyone is seriously choosing Biggby over this, you need to step up your coffee game! :)

Started going to this place when Biggby closed to move their location. Stopped in probably five or six times over the span of two months.The atmosphere of BleakHouse is actually really nice and has a vintage feel to it. However, the layout of the building it a little troubling, as you have to walk down the counter to order and then make your way back to the door to get sugar and cream. This makes it not as inviting to want to stay and you are by the cold door most of the time.The staff was less that friendly and did not warm up to the group I was with or do any type of small talk. They also had to swipe our credit card on an iPad and use Square, which forced us to sign on it as well. This experience was awkward as well and made it feel like this place has not been around for very long.Overall, I would say this place is okay for grabbing a quick cup of coffee, but I would recommend Biggby over this which is just a few blocks away.
