Flat white was excellent! Service also excellent. Also got an Egg Bacon Gouda sandwich. Well made, but bland. Suggestions: seasonings and maybe some greens would elevated it to perfection.

A hidden gem. I love the coffee here. Its worth the stop because of how delicious it is. I think IMO the best Ive had so far. Food was delish 😋 I love the muffins they taste homemade!

I don’t understand anyone saying anything poor about this place, ever. It’s such a hidden gem in Tampa! The coffee is great, the food (bagels, muffins, toast…) is always delicious and the staff is sweet. I appreciate them abiding by health protocols to protect their staff and customers :) Definitely a place you must swing by.

Favorite shop in Tampa.One caveat - the pour over is automated. Not a fan of this as a consumer. However the service was better than friendly- it was exactly what I look for in a coffee shop. Knowledgeable roaster/coffee brewing. Minimalist decor, with some good vibes. Really enjoyed my coffee too! Super good quality. Fresh. Blueberry muffin was good. Cold brew is good. Nitro cold brew was a little too sour. Love the logo, merch, and location.

I am a big fan of their espresso. They feature two single origin options for espresso, and both are yummy! My favorite part though are their breakfast sandwiches. They are known for their breakfast Cuban press but I am actually more a fan of their Hangover Bagel Sandwich which consists of sausage, bacon, hash brown potatoes, gouda, cheddar, and Sriracha mayo. Its so yummy!

Hidden gem! We just happened upon this place out walking our dog one day. It has been consistently excellent. Great coffee drinks and breakfast food! Dog friendly! Patrons and staff all love on our dog Otis, he is always really excited to stop by.

The Lab was always my favorite coffee shop in Tampa. The employees were always really nice and friendly. However, the interaction that just took place between the owner (Jason) and I has forever changed my opinion on this place. Jason is extremely disrespectful, rude and beyond arrogant. From the second I walked in he had a major attitude and threw a mask at my friend who sat at the community table. Mind you nobody sitting at this table was wearing a mask. I gave the mask to my friend but he did not think he had to wear it because no one at the table was wearing one. Jason refused to take my order until he put it on so I told my friend to wait outside because clearly Jason had a problem, and he was making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention, Jason never personally asked him to put the mask on he was just mumbling things under his breathe so if he really wanted him to wear it all he had to do was open his mouth and ask. Instead, he continued to speak under his breathe the entire time, then proceeded to throw my coffee at me after making it wrong. He was so consumed in his ego that he couldnt even remember what I ordered. Customers who were inside of the place were staring because he was making such a scene. Jason did not even give me the chance to tell him that he made me the wrong coffee, he just threw it at me and ran away. One of his employees witnessed this encounter and came up to me to apologize for his behavior and re-made my coffee. The fact that your own employees are apologizing to customers because of your behavior is a seriously problem.The level of unprofessional was beyond anything I can explain. I was a loyal customer until today, I will never go back to this place. I dont know who he thinks he is treating someone like that, let alone a customer but he needs a reality check.

With a perfect blend of clean modernism and edgy urban design this cafe walks a fine balance for craft cafe on a college campus. Inviting and yet not so perfected that it feels inauthentic. Simple black and white design throughout and a low metal ceiling with utilitarian exposed florescent light fixtures it is a whole new update on the cluttered and aging coffee shops that still line many college campuses.These guys an intelligent and curious look at the drinks they serve and the coffee they roast. They normally feature two single origin options for espresso, so be sure to try them both when you visit! They pull the espresso shots off a lovely little San Remo Espresso machine that certainly is the focal point of the cafe and is one only a few of these machines that dot the United States. This is certainly a solid cafe to visit if you are in the area!

Both sandwiches we ordered were not correct. After 5 minutes the “chef” came out in a daze and asked “uhh what am I making again?”. Eggs were pre made patties. Coffee was fine

Stopped by to check this place out... It was alright, the nitro brew was the best thing we tried, but other than that we wouldnt go out of our way to find this place again. Nothing stuck out as bad, we just enjoy the coffee and ambiance of the other local coffee shops better.

Im ALWAYS guaranteed absolutely outstanding service each and everytime come into The Lab.There is no way you can step foot into this place without becoming addicted to each and every aspect about it.The coffee is phenomenal.... the home made muffins are out of this world, and the people that work here are just full of love for what they do and you can really taste the difference. They have awesome merch and bags of coffee to brew at home which is a nice added touch.I love love love it here and will be back again and again and again.

I was there for that 1 Star Jackie Becker review and it is certainly a farce. The staff at The Lab and especially Jason are friendly and go above in beyond for their customers. I promise you any 1 star review about masks is certainly an indication of the ego of the customer and not of Jason.

Usually dont leave reviews, but this place was so good! Got the nitro cold brew both times I stopped in, and it is delicious! The other thing I would highly recommend is the organic coffee cake. I will definitely be back, maybe to try a latte next time

This place has always been wonderful and caring. These fine folk follow ADA guidelines. They follow local regulations. They are truly fine people that care about the health and welfare of the community. This place is worthy of business not just because of their kindness but also their excellence in coffee and coffee roasting. I have fond memories of studying here while applying to and studying for medical school. This place is a gem. If you feel that not wearing a mask is your right, it is their right not to serve you.

This is my favorite coffee shop. So many selections for coffee which is so nice because you can never find that around in this area.

I really like this place. The coffee is unique tasting and tasty. They have these tart shaped organic muffins. Also good. And a decent small selection of food. Reasonably priced. Initially it didnt impress me. With its minimalist interior I thought it would be another mediocre coffee shop. When I got my filter coffee it was served in a small coffee pot with a glass rather than a mug. That could be either pretentious or a good sign. The coffee itself had a dark watery appearance. Like a darker roast with too much water added. For me the traditional filter coffee taste when its well made is best. This did not have that. It was more bitter and watery tasting. Which turned out too be good, not bad. It had a really good overall flavor balance. It was unique tasting which was an added bonus. It was clear the place prides itself on making good coffee and has mad skills for it. Truely a rare find. Once I started enjoying the coffee the experience of the whole place clicked for me. The friendly staff, the just right background music, etc. Might be the best coffee shop in greater Tampa.

Hands down the best coffee shop in the Tampa Bay area. The atmosphere, drinks, and coffee selection are unmatched. I have literally put off moving from the area because I don’t want to miss the lab. Fantastic coffee bar which used to be located out in Lutz under the name Zeal, but now they’ve moved up in the world and are brewing coffee in Tampa.Pete and Jason are great and know so much about coffee and how to brew it to perfection. My fav coffee shop in tampa! baristas are super nice and the coffee is spectacular :) I always end up getting bags of beans from Zeal at The Lab when Im in Tampa, their beans are so good both for pourover and espresso, so def pick up a bag if ur there!

The Lab Coffee is THE go-to coffee spot in Tampa. They roast their own coffee in the facility and the baristas are some of the coolest, most knowledgeable people in the coffee scene that you’ll meet. Whether you want a pour over or a vanilla ice latte, you’re going to be served only the highest quality coffee, prepared by professionals. On top of it all, they have some delicious sandwich options made in-house with homemade sauces.

Their cold brew is awesome. Take it from a coffee snob who has ordered a cold brew from every city from Ft. Worth to Ocala. Strong and creamy without being too much of either. It rivals my local coffee shops cold brew. Although I almost didnt find the place because its tucked away on a quiet street. It would be my loss if I missed it. Next time were in the area I will have to stop back in for another amazing cold brew coffee.

One of my favorite coffee spots to hit when Im in Tampa. They roast and serve zeal coffee, which objectively is consistently stellar. The espresso is always dialed in well and is a good sign that the baristas pay attention to their product. The atmosphere is clean and relaxed and the conversations with the baristas are always entertaining. Staff is welcoming and friendly, couldnt ask for a better spot to chill!

My mocha was divine, however, the wait for it was a very temporal experience for a Sunday afternoon. It wasnt the most comfortable place to hang out, but the drink was well worth the visit. I especially LOVED that their used coffee grounds were available in front of the lab to take home and compost.

I really enjoyed coming here. Parking was easy, so that’s always a plus. The shop is pretty basic with a chill, lowkey vibe to it. I came close to their closing time, and the barista was still super kind & personable. He made suggestions for an iced latte & I’m glad I went with it, because it was super tasty.I ordered an iced latte with vanilla & caramel flavor . Its cool you can pick what coffee beans you’d like roasted. Their coffee is really smooth and naturally sweet. I loved it, and I really tried not to chug the whole drink . I wish they had drizzle and more flavors but can’t complain,their coffee flavor makes up for it. It’s not to strong, so an extra shot of espresso wouldn’t hurt. Also, wasn’t a fan of their vegan muffin.Still, I would definitely come back to have their coffee & I would love to try their breakfast sandwiches next time, since they were out of egg when I went.

TLDR: Good coffee, good sandwiches, not a bad place to work remotely.The Lab Coffee is just a short walk from my place, which makes it super convenient for both coffee and working remotely.I usually get there shortly after open and stay for a few hours. It can get a little busy and loud after 9, but normally it’s just people come in for coffees to go.The pour overs are great, but the house drip is just as good and much faster so I let my need for caffeine dictate what I order.Coffee is served in mugs, not disposable cups which is a huge plus. They are are also friendly to using your own glasses and mugs, too.As for food, the sausage bagel sandwich is my go-to but the bacon, egg, and gouda Cuban is good too. Everyone raves about the hangover cure, but I haven’t been that gluttonous yet.

The Lab is a great little coffee bar and roaster. We stopped in on a Saturday morning and had the best lattes Ive ever tasted. They carry milk alternatives and serve their drinks with a side of sparkling water as a palate cleanser (a very nice touch). Service was awesome and we purchased some of the Zeal coffee that is roasted there (phenomenal coffee!). They carry some small deserts as well. Overall, this place has a very cool vibe and serves/roasts (in my opinion) the best coffee in Tampa!

Off street location makes it a bit difficult to spot. Seems to be more geared toward UT college type as it is just one block from student apartments. The place definitely has a trendy feel and low key laid back ambiance. The seating is adequate, more table top style versus a more comfortable coach style arrangement.The interior is spacious and inviting, not pretentious at all. Great place to chill and have a conversation with friends. It might get a bit warm however during the summer time when they have a garage style door open. Great for a nice open feeling with plenty of natural light but it gets a bit warm in the Florida heat.The coffee (I ordered a cold brew) was not that tasty and lacked good depth and flavor, could have tasted less watered down. And at $4.00 for a 12 oz cold brew, a bit more than I like to spend. Not my favorite brew house for the coffee but a nice venue.

Quaint little hole in the wall serving excellent food and beverages. They have multiple roasts for your varied drinking pleasure and prepare those coffees in multiple ways. Whether youre looking for cold, hot, steamed, drip, Frenched, Chi, or espresso you wont go wrong at The Lab. They sell their grinds for around $15 bucks, organic and gluten free muffins for like $4 or 5, prepare delicious egg sandwiches on everything from Cuban to waffles ($5.50-$9.00) and offer other things like books, growlers and company merch. They dont rush too prepare your order, thats important because your coffee and food are crafted not hurried. That said, everything happens in a timely manner and youre not made to wait.

An exceptional coffee shop with really high quality of everything they make and excellent service. Their espressos are served properly (sparking water, 38grams). Its not a great place to work because there arent a lot of tables and its open-air. Otherwise a must visit when you are in Tampa.

Great shop. Not alot of choices for breakfast food but it was delicious. Drip coffee was not strong enough, but I was in a hurry and I believe they wouldve made me a new cup of I asked. Ill visit again.
