I came in to get an exam, very welcoming atmosphere. Process was easy, the employees were great. Everyone was staying busy and taking care of customers in a timely manner. I had a bad experience with Fayetteville’s store and I can say I definitely will continue to keep going to the Fairmount location!

I was pleasantly surprised today when I stopped at Visionworks with a coupon. I was greeted at the door and encouraged to try on frames, keeping the ones I tried on in a tray to be sanitized after. I made my choice, paid, and left. No problems. Very nice.

I went in because I’ve tried many different trial pairs of contacts and none of them have worked for me. I ended up dealing with the store manager and she was super helpful even though I came in pretty upset she was really patient with me and made sure I got taken care of. Everyone in there was nice actually which is more than I can say for some of the other visionworks I’ve been in.

I had a pleasant experience here. I was in and out for the most part. They were very clean about covid and took their time to ensure they were keeping up with protocols. The front desk ladies were very polite and nice to everyone. Super helpful! The younger gentlemen who did my eye exam was extremely thorough and definitely helped reassure me in my worries. Overall my appointment was quick! Thanks!!The only negative I would say is their phone service.. they try to reduce people calling in with questions or anything of the matter. Trying to get ahold of anyone on the phone for the questions I had prior to arriving was a nightmare. I actually cancelled my appointment and re booked it because I was not entirely sure I should even bother. I called 3 different times through 3 different days and never spoke to anyone on the phone but I’m happy that I gave this place the benefit of the doubt and still went. However once I arrived I could see why this system is in place. It is busy and they actually don’t have time to answer the phone, otherwise nothing would get done inside. So it’s reasonable and I understand why now.

1.0 star ratingNever again! This is the worst place I have ever been. Between my husband and I we spent over $900. There was no doctor in the building all was done over zoom. This was not told to us ahead of time and not due to covid. no one helped us to pick out glasses or offer any assistance at all. I paid for contact fitting training. It has been 2 months and the trial pair us still not in and still have not gotten my fitting or training. No one answers the phone so you get directed to the corporate line and they say they will have someone call me. Not one call yet. The times I am able to get some the girl is extremely rude and unwilling to help with this this issue. I dont think that 2 months is accepted someone should be doing something about this. I was told they have no manager at the time. I asked for someone in charge. After arguing for 10 minutes I was finally able to speak to the optometrist I think. He finally looked into it and reordered them. Well here we are 3 weeks later and still no contacts, a call or anyone answering the phone. Out glasses did come in a reasonable amount of time but again no customer service. We walked in and were handed the cases and that was it. I asked if anyone was going to do adjust anything and was told of they are not right let them know and we can get someone. I had to make an appointment to pick them up for adjustments etc. I have always had some have us try them on make sure they fit well, have us try reading something etc. Nothing was done, I was told they come preadjusted. How could they know if Im comfortable or not, if they are too tight or loose etc. By the way they are not correct for either of us. Then the contacts issues on top of it and I could not in good conscience ever recommend this place. Just horrible! If I could give a negative rating I would.

I am not sure what the deal is with the Fairmount store, and the main Visionworks number that you eventually get transferred to - but apparently answering the telephone is not something they do anymore. You call the store number and get an automated assistant - when you say you need to speak with someone at the store, youre on hold for a minute or so and then it tips over to the main Visionworks number/ hold system - and there Ive been for 40 minutes. (just for kicks - really want to see if someone ever answers...Im betting on no)Over the last 3 or 4 months I have had to call them several times for glasses for 4 people in my family. Driving to the store is the only way to get anything done - they have never answered their phone when Ive called.This is absurd. I have already written the customer service email. I will be looking for a new provider going forward.

They never answer the phone, appointments are never on time, always have to wait waaay to long and hear conversations about the employees personal life from a far. Only reason I go is because the are better than Americas Best and both those places are the closest to my house. I guess its the price you pay to be able to safely see things.. 👎

First of all, I would like to say that doctor Bryan O’Neil whom works in this place, is an amazing doctor! He’s kind and professional, he solved my daughter’s visions problems and he’s the best ophthalmologist that we met so far. He deserves more than five stars indeed! Anyway, I don’t know who run this place, who is responsible for the customer service, because except for doctor Bryan, all the other people that work here are so rude, unprofessional and they act like they don’t care about their customers. I ordered my daughter’s glasses and paid out of pocket everything in advance, after two weeks nobody calls me, so I decided to call by myself and after more than half an hour on the phone, someone, not from this place but somewhere else, answered, they checked on my glasses and they said that the glasses where ready, they sent the glasses two days after my order, I never got a call after two weeks, until I decided to call them. Finally I went to the store to get my daughter’s glasses, I gave them the name and they still don’t know what I am talking about. They thought that my daughter have to choose a new glasses. After a while, they realized who we were and gave us the glasses, a two hundred ten dollars glasses, which I paid out of pocket, which supposed to be a brand name glasses, in a black dreary case that looks used with the name Vision Works on top. Also they never called me for my last two appointments, I just showed up hopefully they remember that I have an appointment. Everything is so depressing in this place, it seems like the customers bother them. I’m absolutely disappointed about the whole situation. I hope that despite my bad English, which is not my first language, my point of view is clear.

I called the Fairmount location mid-November and asked for an appointment for an eye exam and glasses. They told me they couldn’t fit me in until mid-December. I said that was fine, I just wanted to use my insurance I’d been praying for before the year ran out. We got there, they had us look for frames and when we said we hadn’t had our eye exam yet they tried to blame us for making the wrong appointment, we’re very rude and unprofessional about their mistake and refused to tell us who made the appointment for us. Now we can’t have an appointment until next year. I paid a years premiums for nothing and the kids that run the front office really didn’t care at all or even try to resolve their mistake. I wouldn’t recommend supporting this business. When I tried to write a review I discovered they already have a 1.5 out of 5 rating and that even seems high to me now that I’ve experienced their customer service.

Can not reach them at all, and you cannot stop in. Have tried for days, get recording and it disconnects before anyone answers. They do not answer phone, and you can not go there without an appointment, and no appointments are available for over a month. I only have a question about my last prescription. So frustrating.

Go somewhere else. They are disorganized and aggravating. To add to it, corporate limited incoming phone calls so when they inevitably screw something up, you have to drive to the store to get answers. Absolutely not worth the frustration. My experience was so bad that I took time out of my life to write to corporate. Never heard back. Shocker.

Saturday 7/18/2020 @ 5:30...not 1 customer in the store, 2 employees, 1 on her cellphone. I ask if I can just have my glasses adjusted as they feel loose. She asks if I have an appointment. I said no, but I had driven there because when I called to see if I needed an appointment, waited on hold for 10 minutes & still no answer. She said I had to have an appointment. To get my glasses adjusted??? Theres no one in here!!! She could get me in approx 2 weeks later. Wow. I have been a patient there for well over 20 years, long gone are the days Dr. Clarke was there! I drove down the road to Americas Best & my glasses were adjusted within 5 minutes of me walking in the door, no appointment, no questions asked. Now THATS customer service!!! And I didnt even get the glasses there, I got them at Visionworks. Unbelievable!!

It took 3 weeks for an eye appointment, 2 weeks for the glasses to come in and then another month to get them adjusted! That’s over 2 months to get glasses. They wouldn’t just adjust my glasses when I went back 2 days later. They were falling off my face so I had to go back to my other pair. I’m now going to look for another place to get glasses that can give better customer service. If this was a emergency, 2 months is just too long.

ZERO STARS!! The staff here always acts bothered to do their job. They dont answer the phone and when they do they hang up on you. My wife tried to call to make an appointment to get her glasses adjusted and she finally gave up. She made it online, but at the wrong store. When she asked if the optician could do the quick adjustment, she refused and said she would have to make another appointment. FOR AN ADJUSTMENT. WE ARE SICK OF THESE LAZY PEOPLE. We will go to the Shop City location from now on. These people need to learn about customer service. ZERO STARS!

Just tried to call to schedule an appointment for myself and my daughter and first two attempts were disconnected and then on hold for 8 minutes. Then called back and opted for the emergency option and still on hold for over 5 minutes. If I truly had an emergency I guess sh!t out of luck . They just lost a customer of 4 family members all who wear contacts and glasses.

Ive been calling this store for the past week trying to get my prescription after I had an appointment and they do not answer any phones. When I was there for my appointment an angry customer came in saying how nobody was answering the phones and they dismissed it. I still have not gotten my prescription and the instructions visit our FAQ to get your prescription just says Contact your local store ????? Clearly nobody has fixed this as of 3 weeks ago (see the other reviews) when the owner said they would look into it

Went in for an appointment this week and had a great experience using telehealth for the first time. The manager Jim was very friendly and knowledgeable and made the process quick and easy. Brittany was personable and very helpful when it came to picking out glasses and payment. An all around enjoyable experience thanks to great staff and a clean, professional facility!

Dr. ONeil was very thorough and caring. He recommended a couple of additional tests by an Opthalmologist for which they do not have the equipment there because of some unique symptoms I am having (I went in with complaints of migraines). I gave permission to have them take a picture of my eyeballs which costs extra so that I wouldnt have to go through dilation but when he heard my story....he said Im dilating you because apparently they can get a better look that way. So, I felt very cared for. He also took the time to call me before he left for vacation and to leave me a message with the name of a physical therapist he is referring me to. The older woman that sits over to the left with the glasses was so helpful in helping me pick out a frame that I am getting many compliments on (Im sorry I cannot remember her name but she has been there a long time and helped me before, too). My eyes were dilated and I couldnt see as well as I normally would so that was throwing me off on that part of my visit. My glasses came within a week and I went in to get them on my lunch and the older man that adjusted them was quick and personable. I was in and out for that part. Highly recommend them for an eye exam and glasses.

All of the employees that were there including Tammie and the amazing receptionist (I cannot recall her name) were fantastic! Needed my glasses asap. Paid for them Monday morning, bugged them for finished product Tuesday morning, they were done by Tuesday afternoon. Lisa and Donna took my order initially and took my phone calls bugging them for a finished product, she was very polite every time i called and made sure i got my glasses in under a two day turn-around, very pleased to say the least.

Went to pick up my contacts today, dealt with Brittany McBride I think her name was...not personable the last time I ordered AT ALL....Long story short I had mentioned I wanted to use the remainder of what my insurance covered for contacts to the Dr....I am sitting waiting to talk to someone after I met with the doctor and I hear her saying loudly SHE didnt want to use it all last time THATS WHY I wrote it down, but yelling it loud, rude and obnoxiously as if I wasnt sitting right there. Which that part was true that I didnt want to use it all last time, but I was never told I couldnt again....anyways very RUDE person..you would think in customer service you would act accordingly at your job at least. Everyone else there was very pleasant to deal with.

UPDATED:AWESOME STAFF. They were professional, yet friendly and warm, not cold. I appreciate a health environment where the workers allow me to joke (anxiety coping mechanism). Yamile was so great at making me feel relaxed even though I was embarrassed that it had been 5-6yrs. since my last visit, and Brittnie held polite conversation with me and walked me through all the financial steps clearly, and also taught me how to interpret the numbers and meanings of my results. I wish I could remember the lass that did the initial imaging and pressure test and stuff. She was super nice and very descriptive of all the new machinary that seemed a bit intimidating.... well any way, I found my eye place, and Im staying right here.UPDATE: Dave was the technician that helped me fit to the glasses, and he clearly knows what hes doing!! These fit so comfortably after very few adjustments!!

My mom got glasses 3 months ago and she can’t get use to her bifocals, we came in again so she can switch her lens we called before stopping in and we were aware that we went over the 100 days guarantee because I previously spoke on the phone with a nice young lady name Yamille, I believe that was her name. I explained to her my mom wanted to use her new insurance to get new glasses. We came in and a female named Zhanna was in the front desk, I was explaining to her what was going on and she kept interrupting me and wasn’t letting me explain myself, she was very rude and inconsiderate telling me there was nothing she can do when all we wanted to do was use my mom new insurance. As we were sitting down upset and ready to leave Yamille came up and was helpful yet again and had Brittany took care of me and they were both amazing. Although they were helpful We won’t come back here again.

My name is alexandra wellenc, i just went to empire vison in fairmount. i havent been in 2 years, 2 years ago, the staff was amazing,and i was in and out. in 2020 i just went new staff, new manager. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! they dont have a real doctor on site, they use a comouter program, i went n called 2 times, and an hour before my shedulled appt. spent 100$ on uber to get there. when i called, they were unhelpful and rude on the phone. when i got their, staff was rude and horrible, lacked compassion. then their comuter program was down n they coulodnt do my exam. i had an emerency, my glasses broke, n i couldnt see, i took off work to go to this appt. knowing that it might be 7 days till my glasses get in so i asked for contacts that could get me by so i could continue my life n get back to work, they woulkdnt even give me that, along with it was a hassle to get my papers printer so i could go somewhere else. along with while waiting, the female workers were gossiping about other clients, completing unprofessional, and innapriorate, so i went to empire in erie bld. amazing staff, real doctor..was in and out within 10 mins, got my exam, glasses will be ready in about a week n for the meantime, they gave me a week free supply of contacts to get me thru. sum up. do not go to empire in fairmount. horrible!!!!

About a year ago my husband and daughter need new glasses and we heard that Vision Works in Fairmount had great customer service and doctors. We went and we had Brittany McBride take care of us. She was amazing. She found just the right glasses for both of them and help us find the deal that would work the best for us. Their experience was so good that we decided we wouldnt go anywhere else. So I made an appointment to have my eyes exam when Brittany was working. Again, she was amazingly helpful, found me just the right glasses that would look great and helped me pick out sunglasses. I just picked them up and i am very pleased. Again, I am very satisfied and have recommended the Fairmount Vision Works and Brittany to many friend. All around great friendly staff!!!

The woman Kathleen whom I spoke with about my daughters prescription was incredibly rude, condescending and the one and only reason my family and I will never come again. When i asked simple questions I was met with rude unprofessional responses. Nothing against Dr. Suffolk he is a great doctor and man. Everyone at the Fairmount store were all very helpful and courteous when I purchased both my regular eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses. One of the stores opticians, Curtis was very knowledgeable and took the time to make sure that both my glasses were adjusted properly to my satisfaction. I loved my expirence at this wonderful store. First I was greeted almost immediately as soon as I walked in and was greeted by smiles and a cozy atmosphere like all stores should be but to add to my expirence there were very professional around each other and the manager was very nice, making sure my expirence was the best I’ve had in years. And at the end they were willing to help me find a frame that I liked and even smiled through the entire time I was there. They are very thorough with there words and the price were very manageable. Wow, haven’t been to the eye doctors in like 3 years, the optician named Curtis — ooooooo, was so helpful and really patient with me. Plus his strawberry blonde hair was styled well and he was very knowledgeable.

Bad experience: I would not recommend this location. I went to be fitted for both glasses and contacts. The Doc tried six pairs of lenses on me, which none fit. It went on for over three months, and I did not get my $75.00 back for the fitting fee even though they did not fit me. I got my glasses and I could not see anything. I mentioned that to them, went in again to have them change script, they were still wrong when they finished them the second time. NOT GOOD

I had nothing but problems at this location. I went in for glasses and contacts. I told the Dr I had issues with the 2 week disposables and couldn’t wear them for the full 2 weeks. She suggested daily contacts. I was hesitant and said I would try the 2 weeks again. I got the “2 week” trial lenses and had a follow up appointment with a different person and told her my issues with contacts. After a few days I went in to order the contacts. When I went in to pick my contacts up they told me they were monthly lenses not 2 week. I explained for the third time that I have issues with wearing contacts for multiple weeks. I asked if I could just order the daily lenses and they said to try the 2 week lenses because they didn’t want to order another pair of contacts and then have to send them back. I got the 2 week lenses, put them in the next day, and both had popped out of my eyes at different times that day. I went in that night and told them what happened and asked to please order the daily trials. I waited for over 2 weeks for the contacts to come in. Because I waited so long for these I asked if I like them can I just order them tomorrow? They said yes. I got busy and didn’t end up calling for 5 days. I called yesterday morning and spoke to someone (who was very nice) about ordering the daily lenses she said yes but she needed the base curve and the dr wasn’t there yet. She asked if I could call back in 15 minutes or she would call back in 15 minutes. I said I would call back. She gave me her name and said ask for her. I called back 30 minutes later and asked to speak to the original girl I was talking to. She said there is no one there by that name. I asked her if she could ask the girls if anyone talked to me. She put me on hold and when she got back asked me a bunch of questions. I asked her if she asked around to who talked to me and she said no. I said could you please find out who I talked to and she wouldn’t. I said forget it I will just come in and pick up my prescriptions. When I went in to get the prescription I gave the girl my name. She immediately went and got someone else who came at me full speed ahead. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and quite frankly aggressive. I asked for my prescription and she said that it wasn’t completed. I asked for the completed prescription and she said I didn’t have one. After 3 different trial lenses and appointments and follow ups I don’t have a completed prescription?! I said fine credit my insurance company and I will go somewhere else. She said well it will take 21 days to go through. I said that is fine I will pay the other place out of pocket. In between all of this my glasses came in with a mark down the right lense. They had to send them out to replace the lense. After a month and a half of trying to get contact lenses I do not recommend this location at all!!!

Impossible to get a hold of over the phone even when I selected it was an emergency eye-care need. When I was there a month ago the staff (specifically at the front desk) was very rude. Will not be returning to this location.

I highly recommend going to Fairmount Visionworks. The management and staff are very knowledgable and pleasant to the customers. Everyone is always greeted with a smile.I recently purchased a couple pair of glasses and received help from an optician named Curtis. He helped me pick out the right pair for me and made sure each pair was a perfect fit.He was very knowledgable employee and very kind to the customers. I would tell people to go to Fairmount because they cant go wrong.
