Tour of Fantastic Caverns was AWESOME! Our guide Kevin was wonderful. He made the tour fun and interesting. The formations in the cave were beautiful. The lighting was designed specifically for the cave and add to the beauty of the formations. This is a hidden gem of the area. Well worth the trip! THANK YOU KEVIN!
Family Vacation 2021 - we were headed home from a weekend of fun and what better way to end it in the warm/cool 60° caves at Fantastic Caverns. My kids have never been and never seen the inside of a cave, yet alone been in one. Our tour guide was Melody, she was Extremely knowledgeable and provided our tour with a sense of humor! Wonderful experience all around... We only had to wait 6 minutes prior to getting on our tram to enjoy the beautiful sights from deep below. Perfect way to end a Perfect weekend getaway!
We had a blast! My son took me here because it was the only caves in the area of Missouri that was handicapped accessible. I cant even explain how beautiful the stalactites and stalagmites looked. The staff was very friendly, and they had a lot of beautiful gifts in the gift shop. Everything was very affordable, and Id love to come back and visit this place again.
Perfect destination for family and fun! Educational in the best way. Even my notoriously hyperactive kids sat still and quiet for the ride through the caverns. The tour was affordable and comfortable. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and knew how to keep our attention. Fantastic caverns is a fantastic site to visit. Whether you come and stay for 30 minutes or 3 hours you’ll have plenty to see and do. I plan to revisit the caverns inspired gift shop. As a rockhound and book nerd I couldn’t pull myself away from the mineral rocks and literature they had for sale for a very very good price.
Been here multiple times throughout my life and it gets a little better each time. This time I was able to take my oldest two boys 20 & 17 and they loved it. I really think everyone should visit a cavern at some point in time to help get a better understanding of things happening right under our feet. This is and hopefully always will be a very beautiful place to see.
The prices are great for a tourist attraction, and they have a wonderful kids play area in the lobby while you wait for your ride. We had a party of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids), and it was definitely fun for the whole family. The ride through the cave is nearly an hour, but it didnt feel like a long time at all with our guide doing her best to throw in the puns every once in a while. There are 2 places in the cave where they turn the lights off, but they give lots of warning beforehand (so if you have kids with you, you can prepare them for it).We cant forget the gift shop. You can peruse before or after the ride, and there are plenty of trinkets that caught our interest. They have all sorts of jewelry, geodes, and even carved figurines.
My girlfriend and I were traveling through and staying in Mount Vernon. I’ve always seen the brochures in the hotel lobby and billboards sprinkled throughout Missouri for Fantastic Caverns so we decided to make the trek. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the friendly younger gals at the ticket booth. To our surprise, once the tickets were purchased we were told our train would arrive in less than two minutes. Right on queue, the two trams rolls up and we load up for departure into the mysterious caves in the distance. Our tour guide was full of amazing dad jokes and knowledge about the cave and kept the whole trek entertaining. We really enjoyed the hour long tour and back stories provided along the way. There is even a cool video and demonstration sprinkled in about half way in. The ticket was well worth the admission and even included a (get this)…yep, a FREE souvenir photo of everyone in our jeep. That’s class folks! Thank you Fantastic Caverns for the experience! We’ll be back with the kiddos!Side note: Have you looked into electric vehicles to use for the caves? I think they would be so much better for the cave ecosystem. The exhaust can’t be good for the employees longterm health. It’s time to go Electric. Maybe reach out to Tesla or Jeep.
The only drive through cave in North America,Our tour guide Michael was great! We had a very good experience! The cave just like it’s name— fantastic!
It was neat riding through the caverns. Never rode through one before. Surprisingly the temperature only went down to 65 degrees! Actually saw a cave bat! Again a lot of history below the ground!
Good fun and introduction to caves for the grandsons. Nice ride through saves old knees, as well. Beautiful formations, great tour guide. Very nice diversion on a hot day.
I WANT to give it 5-stars but for the amount of money you pay - VERY HARD to get good photos - they always have random people’s heads in them. Or the car is moving so everything is super blurry. If you try to get pictures without heads - it’s the ceiling and not what you wanted to capture. I’d go to the ones you can walk through much better.
Very cool cave with an interesting history and excellent guides! This is a ride-through tour suitable for all ages!
Such a nice drive for a days vacation & worth every second. The caves are astonishing, you have to see this place! Pictures just can’t do it justice. The history and science behind Fantastic Caverns you can almost feel while being here. The drivers are OUT OF THIS WORLD AWESOME!!! I cannot stress enough the great staff!!!
0ur guide Allie was fantastic, very knowledgeable and personable. She made our visit a delight. The cave was very memorable, the formations are awesome.
Fantastic is a perfect name for this cavern. So interesting, beautiful cave and even better staff. Thank you for such a great exoerience.
Pretty good experience we loved. The tour guy was cool 😎
Great experience! Our cave guide was Lacie, she was funny and very knowledgeable about the cave. We really enjoyed it!
This place is just amazing, the tour takes you through the caverns with a tour guide. The caverns are a nice temperature and one should wear a light jacket if you are cold natured.
Amazing tour, so glad we took the time to visit! Staff was very helpful and the facilities well taken care of. Not to mention the knowledge of the tour guides. Will definitely return in the future...
This place is fricken Awesome. A lot better than we hoped. The tour guides were fantastic and made it such fun. Worth every penny. A must see and experience. Great for the whole family.
What an awesome adventure. We had a blast doing this tour. Very relaxing and also educational. The drivers were amazing at keeping the tour entertaining and fun. These caverns were neat to see without all the leg work of climbing through them. I would highly recommend.
Great place to check out... guide was awesome and learned a lot... highly recommend
Nice cave experience.. Since Missouri is known as The Cave state, this one definitely worth the hype. Various nice structure and formations exist inside the cave. The cave is very big. We can only see a small part of the cave. The river water inside the cave is very cold and because of that the air is also cooler as compared to outside. The management of cave is also very nice. We can have a tram tour of the cave with a guide. The guide gives you important and elaborate information about the cave, science behind it and history. Also you get to know various facts like darkness in the cave, documentaries, dangers. They have maintained the place very nicely. The lights actually increase the beauty of structures further. The sorrounding area is also nice. It has souvenir shop where you get good variety of gifts. Nearby nature is beautiful and photogenic. In all very good experience. If you are in Missouri, I will recommend you to visit this place.
My fiancé and I took a trip here from St. Louis today, and it was totally worth the 3 and some hour drive. The cavern is breath taking on its own, the formations of calcite and natural rock smoothed by time are an experience everyone should have. Couple it with a tour full of stories, lots of opportunities for pictures, and a free picture, and you have a memory you won’t soon forget. I’m so glad we had the chance to come here today and enjoy this unparalleled glimpse into the glory of nature. Totally recommend to anyone looking for a unique experience in Missouri, and will be recommending to anyone who asks for a fun weekend activity. My only regret is that I can’t remember who the wonderful guide we had today was, but either way thank you ma’am for the lovely experience and the special details you gave to the tour!
This place is a hidden Gem!!! We absolutely LOVED it! Ive been on cavern tours before, but this was BY FAR the best one Ive ever been to! And the staff here is SUPERIOR!! Nice gift shop in there too! The only one thing I didnt like? The only food there was popcorn...it would have been awesome to buy food and eat outside, it was beautiful! BUT I still would visit this place ( and plan to again) because it IS so awesome!!
1/2 mile into cave, maximum underground point about 150 ft. Well guided, well lit, a couple places you have to duck or lean toward neighbor across from you. Awesome back story and visual.
Definitely worth the trip and small price of admission. The staff and guides are also excellent and make learning about the caves origin and discovery a super fun experience. Kids and adults will enjoy it equally.
A must see! Very knowledgeable people for the guides. Loved it!
Absolutely loved the guided, min train tour experience. It’s an hour long tour but the experience is worth while. How the cave was discovered, how it looks in different shades of light etc. You’ll get a free photo at the end of your tour !
We had a group of 22 kids and 13 adults and was great way too spend time with our family.
Interesting story. Very good tour guides. It is worth the price. Lots of advertisement along the interstate.
This tour is awesome! They take you in a cart pulled by a Jeep into the cave and stop off and tell you different things about the cave and its origins. Katie was our tour guide and she was fantastic and very knowledgeable on the cave. The tour takes about an hour.
I would give this tour cave more stars if I could. Absolutely the best cave experience I ever had. You would love it, experience it, drive in it, feel it. Guides are very good at it and love sharing with you. Very worth it and highly recommended.
Great descriptive tour. No walking needed, as everyone rides in a pull behind wagon attached to a jeep. Free group picture of everyone in the wagon was a bonus.
Beautiful caves...I think fascinating would be a better word! Great history on it, too. They also have a nice little shop inside (very expensive, but they have good deals when stuff is half price off!). Friendly/nice workers, too.
A short tour but very fun and informative. Our tour guide was wonderful. I recommend this for hot days and time you just need to sit for a bit. The outdoor area is great too!
This is one of the nicest cave tours that I have been on. The entire tour is conducted from a wagon being towed by a Jeep. Start to finish the tour last about 50mins and you get to see some awesome cave formations. Because the tour is a riding tour, it is great for families with little kids or grandparents that have mobility issues. Highly recommended.
I had a great experience here, highly recommend giving this place a visit. Also our tour guy did an amazing job shout out to Michael, you need a raise! Definitely a 5star for me 😊
This was the first ride through cave i had ever visited. I have to admit the overall experience was amazing. Numerous rock formations all worth seeing. The tour guide was knowledgeable and provided great detail about the caves history and purpose. I enjoyed it so much I turned my single day ticket into a season pass as Im sure I will see something different in future trips.
We had so much fun and it was super informative. Very inspiring for my four girls to get out of their comfortable zones and explore
We have been here three times over the past 10 years. It’s always a fun trip; and as we add more kiddos we go back to do it again. The gift shop is full of cool rocks, and the motorized, guided, tour of the cave is amazing! This is a great stop to add to your trip.
Excellent. It was an awesome tour. We rode in the jeep. It was beautiful 😍 The guide was wonderful.
This is a little off the beaten path but definitely worth your time to visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered questions during the tour.
Had no idea this place existed until we arrived in Branson, and Im so glad we decided to go! This was a very cool tour and its family friendly with no walking (bonus if you have littles). Our tour guide, John, was funny and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning the history of the caverns. This tour is about an hour north of Branson. Would definitely recommend.
Great experience! Our guide Riva was awesome. She knew her stuff! It was as if she was made to do this!!! Very humorous and kind all the same! Thank you Riva for showing us a good time!
Nice little drive to get to caverns neat experience the guided tram ride was cool. If you cant lean then dont sit on the drivers side of the tram. Maybe a little on the pricey side.
Beautiful caverns. The temperature in here is really fresh compared to the outside. The tour is about an hour and its totally worth it.
An amazing experience well worth the cost..you don’t have to walk, just sit in the trailer pulled by jeep,
Really enjoyed stopping here. Even my 5 year old enjoyed this sightseeing adventure. The caverns were truly beautiful. Would definitely stop here again when traveling.
Amazing worth the drive no matter how far....... we drove 7 in half to see the cave
We had such a great time! The staff was informative and fun. Logan was our tour guide and she did a great job explaining how the cave formations grow and evolve.
Simply freaking wow. I have been to some caverns before, and this does not compare. You get a very knowledgeable tour guide, and learn a lot. We went early in the day, at about 10:30am and it wasnt packed. Nice for families, couples and even alone.
What an amazing place. Had no idea something as cool as this was basically in my back yard. Will visit again for sure! Our tour guide John was super knowledgeable and fun!
An awsome place. The tour was great. The employees were great. Public restrooms. Handicap accessable and parking. Gift shop.
Great!!! Very courteous and knowledgeable staff. Not only enjoyable, there is a lot of history here. The grounds is very well kept. There is a gift shop that surprisingly has something everyone can afford and not overly priced. Being able to ride through is a plus as well as your pets can ride with you. A surprise bonus at the end, we got a photo of ourselves in the cave in the wagon. We drove 2 states away just to visit and I was not disappointed.
Great tour with unbelievable history. Enjoyed by all ages.
Loved it! A definite must see. Also fun because you ride in a jeep towing a wagon and John was a lot of fun. Thank you
This was a great family getaway. The store was very affordable, but the ticket price was more than expected for a Wednesday. otherwise a very beautiful atmosphere.
This place is great! Went here as a kid and never forgot how awesome it was. As an adult I brought my best friend last year and we liked it so much I bought an annual pass for $5 more. Just went again yesterday.I would highly recommend checking it out at least once! Especially if you have kids. Its an experience they wont forget. I know I never did!
What a fantastic experience! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop has a nice assortment of fun things to buy. You ride in a Jeep pulling a trailer the entire time in the cave. Photographs, flash and videos are permitted. In one part of the cave you can experience total darkness. You get a free photo at the end of the entire group. It’s a constant 60 degrees in the cave so you don’t need a heavy coat. It cost $60 for two adults. A must visit place. The only thing I wish was different would be : I wish at one point you could get out of trailer and take photos in the cave. Even if one family at a time in one specific spot. That would be nice.
Love it! Nice and cool, jeep drawn carriage. Beautiful and a fun history
Beautiful well maintained grounds. Tour involves no walking. The driver stops and explains various points along the way. Well worth the money. Lots a deals in the gift shop.
Great experience ! Caverns are fresh and a great escape from the hot weather up above . It’s a jeep that tugs a trailer full of people through the cave and the driver gives a personalized history on the caves . Not a script every story is different . We got lucky and got in line first to ride in the front jeep. Very fun!
Great experience...shared science of cave ...free photo to ticket purchases of tram car... beautiful cave features... popcorn and gift shop..
So much fun and really pretty. Super friendly service and Michael was an awesome tour guide!I definitely recommend!
So cool, nice experience for all and very educational. Rainy day is a good day to stop so you can see the under ground river. If you have younger people interested in science, a must do. Tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Thanks again.
This place definitely lives up to the name. Unique and different from other cavs Ive visited plus a lot of cool history behind it. A must see.
It was very cool. My kids and I loved it. My only complaint was it was expensive.
We really enjoyed the ride. It was nice not getting muddy.
Worth the trip. Easy enjoyable tour. Something very interesting to see.
This is a MUST see attraction. The drive to it was beautiful. The attraction itself was WOW, AMAZING!! Our tour guide was Aly, and she did a wonderful job. Very interactive with us. Definitely worth the trip.
Beautiful caverns and awesome staff. We had Lacie as our tour guide and she really made the whole thing fun! I got plenty of pictures and several new souvenirs Ill cherish for years to come. Even picked me up a new pin for my hat! Thanks for the amazing experience!
Its been roughly 50+ years since Id been to Fantastic Caverns with my grandmother and middle brother. Today, as part of a birthday treat and a first time trip ever here with my son in law and daughter who had been here years ago.Sadly because of current and recent rains on this March 13th 2021 we were unable to go through the whole cave with transport vehicles. There was some flooding which would be a safety concern for visitors with the transports. Therefore those operating Fantastic Caverens did the right thing for their visitors by keeping the tour to a safe minimum tour; with a guide of course. Also, they did not charge for this for everyone. Much appreciated and NOT expected. Now if your claustrophobic this may not be your thing even when the tour is 100% operational. We were able to walk through the part of the cave (which under normal conditions wouldve been the last thing to see with vehicles) which was the best for last called The Twins. Pictured are a few photos of this very impressive formation.Even though it had been many many years since Id last been here, it was every bit as cool today as it was 50+ years ago. A must see again soon when the weather is more permissible. Thank you FANTASTIC CAVERNS for a fantastic visit and a great tour guide!
Fun ride through the caverns. Nice and cool. Lots of history was shared with us today. Better watch your head in some low areas!
Our tour guide, Emily, was fantastic. She was super knowledgeable about the caverns, and its history, as well as super interested in geology and all that it entails. Check it out...Well worth it.
What a great experience! The guide was very informative and very funny. I truly appreciated being able to ride thru the cavern as I have a foot problem. The cavern itself is magnificent. Great formations of stalagtites, stalagmites, straws and drapes!
Loved the tour, its beautiful and the history behind the cave is amazing!Thank you for the experience.
For limestone cave it was okay. Large caverns and great guide.
A Fantastic time.. A great way to see the caves when walking isnt the option. The history of its exploration is remarkable.
We have plenty of caverns in Texas, but we certainly don’t have one where you can ride in a car through one! This propane-powered vehicle goes all throughout a beautiful cavern and from the comfort of your seat can see all the stalagmites and stalactites your heart could ever want! And the best part? No carrying your kids when they get tired of walking!Youll be amazed by the story of the 12 year old girls that first explored the cave and the size of the opening they went through to get in! And theyre open 362 days per year, so you have plenty of opportunities to check it out!
Amazing guide given by Logan! She helped family(littles included) have a great time!
Wow. Just a beautiful escape. Lovely tour.. great experience.
Wow what an amazing ride along cave tour. Well worth the money.
Probably the worse cave Ive been to. LOVED the story of the cave and the staff though. You go probably go in for not even a half a mile then turn around. Not worth the money since you dont get to experience the whole cave like others.
Awesome, Beautiful place to visit, with entire family. Some caves you visit, you have to walk through it, this one you ride in a trailer pulled by jeeps . The tour lasts about half hrs. To 45min. Breath taking. Pics dont share what you see with your own eyes.Springfield Missouri. 🤙 Visit!!! 💓
Good cave experience. Micheal and Karen knew a lot of facts and stories about the cave. Loved the trolleys.
This place is like you are on a different planet! I’ve never seen or experienced any cave like it before. It is truly unique and beautiful. I am so glad that is was cared for and preserved. Truly though, I’ve never been anywhere so amazing before! I wish I could live inside this cave 🧡
They dont discount tickets, $28 for adults plus taxes. Its a short cave. We Wont go back again.
This was truly amazing! Go here and visit snd listen to all the wonderful facts! My kids were so excited snd took so many photos for me to enjoy! The tour even comes with a free… yes FREE photo of your tour! Go here snd have fun! (Please 👍🏽 my review)
