Great service, very knowledgeable and super efficient! They fixed my F-150 CHECK ENGINE light in no time. Straight to the source to pass my emission. Two other places couldn’t figure out what was it and they did in less than 2 hours. Very happy customer that will definitely come back!
HRM automotive has maintained and done repairs to my vehicles for years. The work done has been good however they definitely charge more than most shops do. They will not even try to work with you on price. I will not be using them again. $1600+ for timing belt and axles. On a Honda civic. No thanks Tim or Bill!
Great service and knowledgeable employees
True to their name they are honest and reliable and they will even go so far as to tell you if a service or repair isnt needed or covered by a recall. Anywhere else would be happy to perform the work and take your money. But not these guys. Highly recommend them.
Best auto shop in the area.
2006 Nissan Altima was running loud. I was scared it was the transmission, but friends referred me to HRM who discovered it was a loose exhaust pipe that needed replacing. I made an appointment to bring it in to do the repair, alignment, balancing/rotation, and inspection sticker. They were done by afternoon, all at the quoted price. I am glad to have a place that works on older cars, and will be using them again for any needed repairs!
The Best!
Theres no one like Tim OConnell! If he cant fix your car, it cant be fixed. Very knowledgeable and always does a great job.
This has been my trusted automotive shop for the past 8 years. They are always honest, fair and you really do get what you pay for! I have had to take my car in for minor things at other automotive shops and its ridiculous how they try to upsell you and make you feel that you have to get so many items worked on within your vehicle. HRM Automotive will only charge you for what they believe is essential work for your vehicle. I do believe that they are the reason why my Honda Civic has been running so smoothly these past 8 years. Highly recommend them!
Honest quality work and a fair price. Last few times Ive gone the final price ended up being less than the quoted price.
If I could give them zero stars I would. I took my sons Envoy XL to them to have the ac repaired on 5/22/2017. I told them it was working, but blowing hot air and I thought it must have a freon leak. They asked if I had a diagnostic run on it to determine what was wrong with it. I told them no. So, they recommended that I have one done. I agreed. They called me and told me that it wasnt the ac. It was the clutch fan motor that needed to be replaced. They quoted me $260 for the parts & $300 for the labor. When I picked it up the bill was nearly $800! A couple of days later my AC stopped working. They claim to be honest and reliable but this place is the complete opposite. I do not recommend anyone to come near this place.
Always dependable and honest. Have been going here since my first car and will continue to come here until I leave the area. Honestly the owners/employees are so friendly and are always willing to take time to explain the work theyve done so that you can understand it which goes a long way for me.
Best, honest legit auto shop in the area.
Most honest and reliable auto repair shop I have ever dealt with.
“No charge!” said HRM (Honest Reliable Mechanics). I responded in disbelief and surprise that no charges were imposed. I insisted on paying something since their staff had to do some work on our behalf. HRM restated that there were no charges. They could not hear the problem when they took the car out for a drive in order to diagnose. In the end, all they did was to put air in the tires. Our three-year old Honda CRV had a rattle underneath the body. The noise was apparent as we drove either slowly or quickly. It sounded like a flat tire.We checked the tires and various fluids. The noise persisted. We were worried because this car has to be kept in optimal condition since we use it extensively for far distances. We had also just returned from Vermont.I called the Honda dealership where the car was purchased to find out whether it is still under warranty. Sorry, no! Bring the car in, check it, and give you an estimate for the diagnosis and repairs.HRM, on the other hand charged nothing today although generally, there is a charge for diagnosis. In today’s world, culture, and mentality, where nothing is free and everyone is out to gouge each other, it was refreshing to meet HRM.What a pleasant surprise. How heart-warming. Honest Reliable Mechanics (HRM) walks the talk!
Ive been using HRM Automotive for at least 4 years, probably more. Trust them because they do good work and have fair prices. Been in area long time and took me long time to find trustworthy mechanics. Highly recommend HRM.
Just got back from HRM. Tim provided the most EXCELLENT service 2nd to none. He didnt try to sell us scary services that had to be done or else.... With a transmission problem found on our 2004 Impala, he provided options and was so informative. HRM was recommended to us by a coworker who was a customer for many years and being the most skeptical person with auto mechanics, we felt really good with Tim. Especially with the Alexandria/D.C. area being to expensive cost-of-living wise. He said we can bring our car to him to check before we drive to the Richmond Airport to at least alleviate some concerns. We love you Tim and Bill!
When the air conditioning on my truck went out, my friends recommended HRM to me. The staff was friendly and professional. We briefly talked about the symptoms and what the issue may be. I dropped my truck off in the morning and received a call 4 hours later. Over the phone, I was given the rundown of what was found, what is needed to fix the issue, the amount of time it would take, and of course the itemized total for everything. Sadly, the amount was much more than I had intended to spend. So I decided to postpone the fix. When I picked up my truck that afternoon, without even asking for one, I was given a print out itemized list of charges in the event that I brought my vehicle back to HRM. My co-workers, who are a bit more mechanically inclined, looked at the itemized list and prices. They said that the prices were extremely good and that the overall cost was quite fair for that amount of work that needed to be done. When I get a break in my busy work schedule and can set aside the funds to fix the air conditioning in my truck, HRM will most certainly get my business.Overall, I am quite satisfied with their service.
Easy in, easy out, great service, wonderful work, reasonable prices.
Just like their name states, theyre honest and reliable. On several occasions Ive gone to Merchants to get my tires rotated because of the tire deals I get from them and they come back with a laundry list of stuff that is wrong with my car and need to get fixed. I of course take it to HRM and they tell me that not only was the list bogus and that my car is fine, but Merchants didnt even rotate the tires. They were also the only shop that could tell me what was wrong with my truck and fix the problem. The dealership couldnt even tell me what was wrong with it!These guys are knowledgeable, honest, reliable, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. They do all my work and I would get my tires from them but the road hazard deal on tires with Merchants has proven useful in the past. Otherwise HRM is more that satisfactory for my mechanical needs.
After seeing their commercials on TV we took our 95 Lincoln there for an estimate on repairs. They charged my mom $65 for looking at the car but did no work and then told us they could not get any Reliable Parts for that vehicle it was too old and we should just sell it it could not be fixed. The parts they said it needed which they couldnt get were like $600 online . We took it to another shop and they fixed the problem for only $80. And they told us the parts HRM recommended it needed were fine and did not need replacing. Theres definitely something funny going on there dont take your car there. Their attitudes were a far cry from what their commercial seems to represent
These guys are great. I would trust them to do any work on any car that I own No hard sales...no pressure...they do what they say theyre going to do. I know how important it is to have a good mechanic that you can trust....you can trust these guys.
AMAZING!!!! We brought our minivan to them for a noise. It sounded like one of the pulleys. They could not duplicate the noise, and they checked the belts and pulleys and found nothing. They charged us nothing, zero, zilch for that service! They are most definitely honest!
Polite, efficient, and trustworthy. Tim greets me by name every time I bring a car in. And they ensure I get to and from work while my car is in their shop.
Highly recommended
The service was reasonable. I felt they tacked on extra charges ($50) for testing and cleaning the battery. They refused to take off supply fees when Ive had other shops work with me on the price. my bill was already 500$ they got my car done in a timely manner but Im deffinetly not going back again.
HRM Automotive did a great job on my very old 2002 Excursion...well over 330,000 miles on it...I would recommend Tim and his crew to everyone...keep up the great work guys...
Good car service. Not very friendly customer service.
Tim, Kevin & the HRM Team saved me THOUSANDS of dollars because of their honesty. I went to Philadelphia for the long Memorial day weekend on May 26th. I heard a loud thud while driving on one of what has been called one of the most dangerous city roads in America: Roosevelt Blvd in the NE.Since we initially suspected that the transmission failed, I had my car towed to an AAMCO location. The 3 gentlemen were very friendly and assured me that they would check my car to ascertain if the transmission failed. The manager contacted me to tell me that the transmission was shot. A replacement would cost about $6,500, more than the value of my 11 yr old Lexus RX 330.Since I have known and trusted HRM.for years, I had my car towed back to Virginia directly to HRM Automotive (thanks to AAA Premium). Kevin and Tim informed me that there was NOTHING wrong with my transmission! The rear axle had broken. The AAMCO guys tried to swindle me out of thousands of $$$!!Instead of me having to replace my transmission for over $6,000 or buying another car, HRM just replaced the rear axle & did an oil change. $360 bucks! No new car shopping for me now! I will report the dishonest AAMCO business and continue referring anyone who needs HONEST, RELIABLE MECHANICS to HRM!
I have been coming to hrm for years and they are always honest and fair. Its hard to find a mechanic that you can trust and wont rip you off....GO TO HRM!
Only got one summer out of a $1200 a/c compressor before it failed. Too bad, out of warranty, out of luck.Steer clear of this place, particularly for expensive repairs.
Honest automotive service.
They diagnosed the problem correctly the first time, fixed it in a timely manner, and charged a fair price. What more can you ask!
