Went to get a 4Quart Oil change, check alignment, clean my performance brakes (they always squeal after a few weeks since day 1) and a State Inspection. Didnt have a inspection inspector available, was extorted for additional services over the phone and they threw out the 1qt Lucas Oil additive I brought that they said they would add since Pepboys doesnt carry ANY inventory since 2020.I requested the brakes they took off for cleaning/inspecting, they said I HAD to have brakes that they were almost gone, yet WOULDNT provide the old Performance brakes they put on previously and had checked 90+ days PRIOR & CLEANED. Even the last guys SAVED my old brakes, as REQUESTED. Not stand there and pretend the trash can absorbed them into the abyss.I complained, walked out, walked back in to complain AGAIN and ask a question after reading I was charged for 5 quarts (I ordered 4qt+My 1qt Lucas). I wasnt going to just stand there and harass their employees in a matter they couldnt resolve. Heck, they didnt even update my MILEAGE on their receipt, its the same as the previous visit.I did their fake survey, explained in it everything that happened, was only contacted once saying someone would reach out after I kept emailing, and now theyre lying to my bank. I definitely will never be paying them for any further additional services, and if needed filing suit against them if its not resolved. This location has went downhill bad from 2020 obviously.

I decided to do a maintenance check on my moms f150 because it seemed like it was getting way worse mpg than it should be only to find that when it had been serviced here a couple weeks earlier they had managed to not notice the nastiest air filter Ive ever seen which has a massive impact on mpg and is such an easy thing to check that repair shops will usually check them even when someone comes in for something completely unrelated and minor. (I know because Im a tech) Its sad that a professional could be so lazy. Definitely telling everyone I know not to go here and I hope that this was a one off mistake (though it is unlikely)

I had a really good experience at this store! My car was leaking oil heavily due to a different shop putting the wrong part in. The service manager Christian was a lot of help and he had my car in and fixed in under an hour and he was super duper nice. I will definitely be returning for future service!

Christian was awesome. I was in a bind. Leaving on vacation today but broke off one of the lug bolts on my vehicle yesterday trying to do a break job. Christian was able to get me in and got the parts ordered and replaced in just a few hours. They even finished my brake job for me. All at a very reasonable price. Will definitely use again.

Had to order 4 new tires buy 3 get one free and at the appointment had them check my front brakes. They brought me back to show me that i had very little pads left and that my rotors could maybe be saved but i just opted to have them replaced. Took about an hr and 15 min and the service was awesome. Gave me a military veteran discount and never tried to push any sales.#202 Alex Hernandez will be doing all business here in the future

I had a tire blow out on one 80k mile tire and purchased road hazard on my whole set . they offered me $7.00 credit towards a new tire and didn’t measure the tread . I would have bought a full set with any kind of customer service. I went elsewhere and will never return .lesson learned . Don’t drive away from pep boys. Race away!!

The first time I went there it was a great experience. But then it turned into them not having a mechanic on duty. Or cancelling appointments or saying theyll get the part then call later to say they couldnt find it. Even though I went to oreilly the same day and picked it up myself. Or they flat out refuse to do services their website clearly states they do. I have ended up going to midas across the parking lot.

Absolutely the worst service I’ve had anywhere I was sold a recalled part told I could get a refund came for my refund and was refused my money back and a new part. When I told them I just wanted my car back while I was outside getting my car an employee was mumbling about how ridiculous I was being. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. My wife today had a bad experience at a different car place and brought our car here to get tire fixed. Christian took amazing care of our vehicle and went out of his way to ensure it was ready to be driven. We will definitely be using this location again for any vehicle needs. Excellent customer service! Polite, friendly, informative, and explained all the work that would be done. Very conscientious about COVID-19 protocol. Also witnessed the interaction of a service technician with another customer and was amazed to see how respectful and validating he was to her. This will now be my go to place.

My daughter was getting ready to come home for the summer from Missouri State and found she had a screw in her tire. Was not sure who to turn to as we live just outside of St. Louis so started to do some research on -line. Came across Pep Boys - 1265 Battlefield Road location and contacted them. I worked with Alexander and Christian and they could not have been any more accommodating and pleasant to work with. They ended up ordering a new tire for my daughter and got her car back on the road. I would highly recommend this location for their honesty, professionalism and friendliness. I purchased new tires from the website and had them installed here. The website gave me an estimated time and it was spot on. As I was leaving they double checked the tire pressure and added a bit more air before sending me on my way. The process was super easy and I definitely recommend their services.

I went in this evening to get the bulb changed in my headlight. I hadn’t been there before but I have one of the trickier bulbs to change (and didn’t have the time to do it myself), so I thought I’d try them out. The gentleman behind the counter (Christian) was super nice and helpful. He was running back and forth between helping in back, answering the phone...which was constantly ringing, and assisting customers at the counter. He was very personable with each customer and made my experience with Pep Boys really hassle-free. I highly recommend this business and am so grateful to find a new place to go when needing help with my car. Christian made my first experience wonderful and I look forward to using them in the future!

I scheduled an appointment at 9am and was estimated a wait time of 45min-1hr. After 2 hours I finally asked an estimate of about how much longer. The employee said he was waiting on a part to arrive and to give him about 10 minutes. He was very nice and apologized. I just wish that would’ve been communicated to me because I saw many people get their services done before me and did not have an appointment.

Christian is absolutely wonderful. Not only did he work extremely hard to make sure my car was done before close, he had numerous other customers in there at the same time and still managed to finish all the work. BY HIMSELF. He also made sure I had the cheapest price possible by adding coupons he had to my purchase. He is super funny and tries his best to keep the humor up, even when you can tell he is dead tired.

These cats rock 🎸!! It was Memorial Day...noooooo one was open..and ya didnt even know until you got to other tire shops as most places didnt have a sign or stating online they would be closed for the holiday...with one hour left....a friend recommended Pep Boys.. I called and scrambled room across town as they waited for me to repair the nail in my tire on a holiday!! You all saved the day!! Thank you for great service in an emergency with short notice!!!

They were very friendly and helpful. I set up an appointment online (which I recommend) and I set it up for a oil change, which comes with a free tire rotation and quick inspection (not a full one needed for license plate renewal). When I got there they told me I didnt need the more expensive oil change and set up the less expensive one and they also told me my filters needed to be change. They order one and called me in less than an hour saying they had it ready and I could come back at anytime before 8pm. Overall, great experience and they explained what I needed and what I could wait on. I never had this experience before at other places.

I took my car in because of a squeak that occurred when turning left. Even thought there were about an hour from closing time they still managed to go and take a look at my car. The problem was fixed in about 15 minutes and sent me on my way! Thank you so much guys!

I do my own work on my vehicles most of the time, but Ive trusted Pep Boys since 1998 to help me when Im too busy, dont have the tools, or dont want to mess with it. Overall, Im pretty happy for what I get for my money here. Considering how long Ive done business here, its inevitable that they have made a few mistakes. However, they also corrected those mistakes. I dont think you can ask much more than that from anyone.Ive had problems with this place in years past which can be summed up with the phrase poor communication. For example, there have been several times where my car was ready but I never got a phone call. Other times, there was some problem which required a decision from me, and I didnt find out about it until I happened to call or stop by. This hasnt happened recently, and the new manager, Christian, has made a strong effort to improve communication.All in all, I highly recommend this place for tires and general automotive service. Theyve always been honest with me and the prices are fair.

The service is quick and amazing. I just moved to town yesterday to start a new job today. My tire was low on air this evening when I got off work and when I stopped to put air in the tire I could see a screw in the tire. I called them and they were able to get me in before they closed. Christian, the service manager was great as were the other service employees. Super friendly and helpful!!

Christian was taking care of me today. He was fast, honest, and reliable. He was also very understanding when it comes to the fact that people cant always afford everything that is needed for their car so he was extremely helpful. They were really busy considering it was a Sunday and not a lot of places were open anyways. My car was looked at and fixed (brake issues) within a few hours. I was very satisfied!

I have taken all of my vehicles here since I moved back here in 2014. They have always been very helpful and reasonable in price. They are not always the fastest, but the service is worth the wait. Last Saturday, I took my mothers truck in for an oil change and told them about a very strange noise coming from the dash area. Derek (sp?) is always so respectful and said they would see what they could do. They were stumped for a while, but they found the source!!! (The battery had not been tightened enough and was moving around a bit causing the squeak! Who knew?) I will always recommend these guys!

My front passenger window is electric and it was down and wouldnt go up. I just popped in and they could squeeze me in. They had to do a couple of diagnostic tests to make sure the correct diagnosis and part was bought. To say the least within 31/2 hours I was on my way. I failed to say. I had already taken it in. SOME PLACE ELSE and the warranty had just went over,I called them even though I NEW MY WARRANTY was out over month before I THOUGHT I would let them check and fix But they were rude and almost bolstering about my poor luck....or not. I decided I would go to PEP BOYS instead and I will Always be going to PEP BOYS.

Pep boys is the only place I go for my car in Springfield. No matter what I need they take care of me! My dad’s a mechanic and handled all of my vehicle’s needs until I moved to college and I’m glad I have the Pep Boys team now that I’m two hours away from him.Now story time! This was literally over a year ago now and I’ll never forget it and it contributes heavily to why I still choose Pep Boys! I went in to have my tires aligned for a trip I was taking and I forgot my Pep Boys card at home and CHRISTIAN helped me out so much and made it to where I could get my card to pay. I had never before and really never since have had someone work so hard to help me. Just true genuine kindness, and not to mention customer service out of this world. That was really the only time I ever had the pleasure of doing business with him and, like I said, over a year later I remember him and his name and have been actually meaning to write this review since.(I’ve dealt mostly with Alex since and he is a joy as well!) At the time my car had also just hit 200,000 and he said that with his help we’d surely get my baby to 300,000. I’m confident that with their help she’ll make it that far. Very grateful to have access to this location that cares so much!

I needed my cabin filter replaced. At my oil change they told me if I bought the filter, they would replace it for $10. I came with the part and they did it for free. This is $60 at the dealer. I only paid $15-20 for the part. Cheaper with great service. Alex treats everyone well.

I feel like pep boys always has my back with all my car problems. I’ve had three cars through my lifetime and I have bad luck or maybe I just suck at picking out cars, but they always help the best they can. They’re always nice and courteous (CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SUPER IMPORTANT). They always try to get me in in a timely manner. They go above and beyond. If I could rate more than 5 stars I would.

Normally, Ive had great experiences here, but the last few months have been pretty rocky for me as far as my experiences go.This summer, my car started acting off - rough idle, died at stop lights but only does it when AC was running, etc. Made appointment online, dropped my car off, they called me the next day and said their technician was on vacation for the next 2 weeks or something.No engine lights or anything, so I waited. I took it in after a month or so, they said they couldnt replicate the issue and sent me on my way.Finally, engine light came on. Took it in. I dont have a second car anymore, so I waited there.I dont remember who I dealt with, but he came to me and told me that he wasnt charging me for diagnostics, said the car was throwing a TBS code [I think thats the correct acronym] and referred me to a dealership because he couldnt see any details on it.Not wanting to drop $200 on diagnostics plus cost of repair at a dealership, I purchased an OBD II reader.It immediately pulled up a code, which it defined as being an issue with the manifold intake gasket. Did some quick research, looks to be a very common issue and should be a pretty easy fix, and this also can cause all of the symptoms Ive been having with the car. Im not sure why he wasnt able to see this. Im pretty frustrated, now I have to find a new mechanic that can resolve the issue, I guess. Ive had some experiences with auto shops in town overcharging [significantly] so I was hoping to get it done by PB because I trust them, and theyve never messed around with me, but now I guess I dont have a choice.

1) If you think being able to make an online appointment is convenient, think again. For over two years now Ive made all my oil change appointments that way, and not once was my vehicle started on within twenty minutes of my appointment time. A few times I watched as people who had not made appointments were put ahead of me, even when I was early. Also, you still have to tell them the services you want despite filling all that out online; all they see is a blank page.2) This last time I asked them to check my AC as well as change my oil; they tell me that the repair would be over three hundred. I decided to get another estimate, so told them I didnt need the service. Not only did they charge me for the Freon used for the diagnostic, they then took all that Freon back, even though I had to pay five dollars an ounce for Freon they kept. I wonder now just how many people have paid for that same batch of Freon. I took it to a local mechanic the same day and was charged less than a hundred dollars for the same service.3) The building is disgusting. The two trash cans in front were overflowing at nine in the morning and the building inside stank worse than a gym.I had been taking our two vehicles to them faithfully for over five years now for oil changes, but they have now lost my business, and my word of mouth will be frequent and scathing.

I just had a really low tire that wouldnt fill at the pump I had tried, and they were kind enough to try to fill it for me free of charge. Low and behold, its held air so far! My SUV overheated in the middle of a 1000 mile trip. I took it to Pep Boys and was extremely well taken care of. They were short staffed due to illness but Christian, who I think is the service manager, personally took care of my car. The entire staff was extremely nice and even though they were busy, they diagnosed and fixed my car within a few hours. If I lived in Springfield, they would be my go to place to get my cars fixed.

Friendly, hassle-free service. Good place to go when those dashlights come on. A different shop in town had said I had a wiring issue that could cost up to $300, so I took my ride to Pep Boys for second opinion. They reset some ECU thingy for a fraction of the price and I was back on the road in the same day.

Went in for an oil change and was the only customer there. They had my car for 4.5 hours and would have kept it for longer had I not called. When I returned they gave me a list with $2000 dollars worth of work needed on my car. Again, all I asked for was an oil change. Also it took 6 workers and 15 minutes to get windshield wipers on my Honda. Theyre amateur mechanics who are only concerned about getting every last buck out of their customers.

I went to Pep Boys on Battlefield for a diagnostic with an appointment on Tuesday. When I get there they hadnt even put my name in the system and didnt honor the appointment that I had set up several days prior too. So I reschedule, things happen, I get that. I reschedule to Friday.I drop my car off on Friday. The attendant was so rude and insolent to my needs. Whatever, bad day. I also get that. He says give them a few hours (app. 2-3) and it will be finished.So I show up almost 4 hours later, and they hadnt even gotten my car into the shop. I dont even think it was close to getting in. They were extremely backed up! Why the HELL would I even have an appointment then?!?! Their mechanics were standing around, or looked like they were coming off break. Where is any sense of urgency in that place? I ask for the manager and the gentleman (who was, by no means, to blame for any of this) and he informs me they are on vacation...Question: Why would two managers GO ON VACATION AT THE SAME TIME???? Especially when they are so understaffed and backed up? They are going to continually lose business that way. They lost mine. They will also lose employees, because obviously management doesnt care about their welfare or care if the business is running properly. And when I asked for the management contact information, it was the store phone...which just rings and rings and freaking rings. Really helpful, guys.So I highly recommend that no one goes to the Battlefield location, not because I want the employees to suffer, but because management like that should suffer.

If you simply need an oil change this is a fine place to go, however anything else take your car elsewhere. I had to continually return to the shop 6 or 7 times because they had missed something or something was still wrong. I spent over $1,000 and am not confident what they did was worth my money. They are really nice guys, they were very helpful and friendly, but I just dont think they are very consistent or thorough with their work.

Springfield mo. Im a disabled veteran who has to walk with a cane. Was treated like garbage by the manager at this store. I recently purchased a dash cam. That my wife didnt like on my card. When I tried to return it, The Manager was VERY unprofessional. He took it quite personality. Like I didnt matter, even though Ive spent hundreds of dollars there. Have had this problem before. Just thought he was having a bad day, but now I understand how it really is. As long as your spending, and not returning everythings fine. Had a dead battery and managed to get my car in their parking lot. The employees in the store were very cold and seemed like they didnt care, or gave the impression they were bothered by my patronage. Didnt greet me when I approached, just blankly stared. I would go so far as to say I felt like I was in a room of miserable suicidal people.Said I had a dead battery, they offered no assistance and just kind of stared at me. One guy finally said they could test the battery and I said ok. Then he stared at me and asked me to bring it in. Well it was kind of in my car... I finally asked if they had some tools I could borrow, and they threw a tool box on the counter. Said what I need is probably in there. I went back outside tool box and all. Rummaged through the random tools thrown about in there, and got my battery out. I brought it in and the associate proceeded to test it. The machine wouldnt cooperate, or he didnt know what he was doing. He asked me to wait in the back and took my battery up front. When he came back he said the battery tested good.Great, something was probably wrong with my car. The service guy, who was actually nice, came out to my car and said it may be the alternator since the battery tested good. He said all they could do was a diagnostic and offered to jump my car. I opted to skip the diagnostic since they couldnt fix it then anyways.Took my car to my local shop the next day and guess what, the battery tested bad. They had no idea what they were doing, and I suspect they just said it tested good to get me out of there. All I needed was a battery. Instead I had to waste the next morning at a shop and miss work thinking it was another issue. I could have bought it that evening and put it in myself and been on my merry way. Instead here is your review. Never going back and I suggest you dont waste your time. Dont know about the service guys, but the retail portion needs a manager who cares.

Made an appointment 2 days in advance for a simple oil change, but, because I had an expensive car, that was low to the ground, they couldnt service it and no one bothered to call and let me know. They just waited untill I showed up and then turned me away. When I made the initial appointment, I mentioned my unique vehicle (2014 Corvette Stingray) and asked if it would be a problem. They assured me that it was not a problem. Then, i walked into the lobby, not greeted or acknowledged and then turned away with an apathy I have never encountered with Pep Boys before. Very disappointed.

Ive always gotten good service from Pep Boys. Last time I was considering either an engine flush or a cooling system flush because I thought the car was running warm. The service manager took the time to listen to my problem, actually went out and LOOKED at the cooling fluid and oil, said both were fine and asked how high up the readout I was running. I told him and he said immediately that it was normal, esp in hot weather (this was summertime). Said I might want an oil change in a couple of months and sent me on my way at no charge.He turned down what could have easily been a $100-200 sale because he had ethics.Kudos to Pep Boys!

Good selection; customer service was lacking. There werent many people in the store, and I was obviously trying to find something. However, the store employees did not ask if they could help me. I happened to be in Springfield for the day and made it a point to stop at the store because my Dad and Granddaddy raved about Pep Boys in Oklahoma City. Im pretty disappointed.

Brought my wifes car in for an oil leak,they found the leak and said it was gonna cost 500$ to change my oil pan gasket and since Im not a mechanic I agreed to the repair but when I got the bill as I was going over it I noticed I was charged 90$ for an oil pan gasket for a 2006 sebring,so I called 5 auto parts stores around town and even in the area of the pepboys and the most expensive oil pan gasket kit I found was 42$ and some change,which makes me wonder what else on the bill was padded,so I called 4 of the most expensive shops I can think of told them what was wrong with my car and they gave me an estimate of 300$ to fix my car,even told me they wouldnt have charged me to find the leak if I would have gotten it done with them,so I do not recommend pepboys unless you just have money to throw away!

I have had several experiences with Pep Boys since moving to Springfield four years ago. All of them have been reasonable or good, with the exception of the last one, which will be the last one. They replaced our power steering pump around a month ago, we were charged $142 for the part $135 for labor, and $55 for a power steering flush, all pretty fair prices, and the work was done in a timely manner. A few days ago, we started hearing the pump whine again, so I took a look under the hood, there was fluid all over the valve cover, and the accessory/serpentine belts, and block. I also then noticed the bright orange sticker that said remanufactured on the pump. I wasnt very happy about that, but still, it was under warranty, which also covers labor, so, no big deal. My wife dropped the car off yesterday around 3pm, and just got it back home around 6pm tonight. We were told they were leak testing, which already to me is a little fishy sounding, because it was obvious to me it was the reservoir leaking, why else would fluid be everywhere around and below it, but either way, Im not the mechanic, so, let them do their job right? Well, they put 55 miles on the car, got dye all over the engine compartment, and didnt even bother to clean it, and finally realized it was the reservoir, and replaced the pump. There are a lot of things about this that make me unable to trust this shop with any future business, and I will certainly advise anyone I can to avoid it as well.Edit: Jason from Pep Boys contacted me today, and I believe that he really was willing to make this right. I appreciate that he is concerned with his customers satisfaction, and wish that I could change this to a 2.5 star review just for that reason. Anything else I could say would be pure speculation and therefore unfair to him or his technicians, so I will withhold my opinion. Thanks again Jason for your concern, and maybe in the future I will give Pep Boys another chance with my vehicles.

Excellent Customer Service. Everyone was so helpful, my cars tune up took a while to finish due to me adding a oil change and my window needed some repairing. But these fellas and lady helped my anxiety come down 10 levels by servicing my car with the up most care. I left there saving money, my baby fixed, and a new Auto shop 😁 was so happy I brought my friend back later that day lol Thank You!!

I have stopped by a couple times & called in regards to my ac. I’ve had everything done to it that’s suppose to & it stopped working again. It’s been so hot in heat & my schedule always conflicts with the 1 AC guy. Tonight, Caleb actually helped me when I asked if he could please check my relay at least. I have sat here & watched him multi-task like crazy and has had amazing patience! He has been utterly slammed & could have just told me he can’t help but he still persisted in trying to trouble shoot my AC! Now that is what makes people remember awesome service and wanna come back because of seeing workmanship like that! So my review is purely on Caleb and his great work ethic!!!7/7/18 add -I meant to edit this that Pepboys had nothing to do with any prior air issue or work. It was done by others. So this was also another plus in the help Caleb offered and that the 3 prior places who worked on my car the air issues couldn’t find the problem but Caleb did within minutes!!!

I had gone to Pep Boys a couple of times before because of the convenience of the location. They seemed to never steer me wrong, or so I thought. I needed a safety inspection for my car, and I had got it done and needed to replace a control arm. I got that done, and then the car reinspected. Now they said I needed to replace the rack and pinion to pass inspection.. Which most people know is a costly repair. Well, I saved up and finally had the money to get it done. Someone had suggested another shop to me, so I went to get it evaluated there. It turns out that it didnt need to be replaced at all and they said I never should have been failed on the inspection. I even took it one more place, just make sure, and they also agreed, it didnt need to be done. Now, I will never be returning to Pep Boys for any repairs and I have a little more money in my pocket.

Brought in my car for a tune up and oil change. The oils change didn’t get done, and they left the old spark plugs they replaced under the hood instead of disposing properly. I was told I could bring my car back for the oil change but after getting home and finding the spark plugs just lying around under my hood where they could have fallen and caused more damage, I believe I’ll try my luck elsewhere.

Save yourself the headache and DO NOT take your vehicle there. They are a bunch of liars.First instance: I called for a brake job on my truck, I was told over the phone it would be $80.00 so I set an appointment. On the day of my appointment I show up to be told it would cost $400. Reason for the price increase? Because I didn’t bring my own parts! That would of been excellent information to have during my phone callFor some reason I decided to give them a second chance. I needed to replace my power steering pump. I called and told them I have the parts I just needed a price to install them. My over the phone price was $199. I decided to make the appointment. When I got down there today somehow, for no reason the price jumped to $300! I didn’t ask or stick around for an explanation, I just walked out.I will NEVER do business with is company again.

I purchased 4 cooper tires to be installed on my truck. After installation I noticed some light damage to one of my wheels. Randall the manager was quick to resolve my issue. He had my wheel repaired and looking brand new within the next two days.The service level was great and I felt appreciated as a customer. I will be doing business with them again.

Without a doubt the worst customer service Ive experienced. They literally messed up in every single instance, up to the point of after all of the headache dealing with extremely incompetent workers and more than doubling the estimate for how long the modifications would take, (partly due to them not actually setting up the second appointment) (I had to set up a second appointment because they didnt actually feel like setting up the first one) they finally called me an hour after I dropped off my car and told me that they quote Didnt know how to do it I would personally avoid using them at all costs, if not solely to save yourself the headache. They employees also showed no ounce of remorse for anything that happened, giving me the impression that they simply didnt care about each individual customer.
