I take my cars there for anything any everything. When you find a mechanic that is good and honest with you about any repairs your car may or may not need, they check off all of the boxes. Very personable and always feel satisfied when I drop off and pick up my cars.

I loved Mc Kays the reviews, the fairness, the people. I spent probably over 4k there in 3 years. However, my last two experiences will be my last.First a few weeks ago I called for a quote on a electrical repair on my car. I was told we will call you back when I have a price quote. I never heard back.Then today I went in for an oil change and was told that it would be over 7 hours. I was told that people have appointments. None of which were there. I do not understand why they could not knock mine out then get to the appointments. Also, I get that people make appointments but you should have a little buffer in your scheduling.This was my favorite shop for over 3 years but apparently they have become to busy to care about my business. I will be going else where.

The customer service was awesome and the fixed my tires quickly. I would highly recommend this shop, not based on that but because the 2 ladies in the waiting area were talking about how this is the only shop in the area that they trust not to rip them off and they had been coming there for years!

Awesome place! Very good priced and very nice people...usually do my own work... but my particular job at the moment has me traveling and I had to use these guys and I don’t regret it!

I showed up first thing without an appointment, they diagnosed and fixed my truck by the end of the day without a huge bill! I was pleasantly surprised and will use them again in the near future.

To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. They opened up at 7am Saturday morning and I was there at 7:05. I came in for an oil change coolant flush and tire balance and rotation. At 4:15 we are still sitting here because the “Coolant” was never delivered. We have been waiting for over an house and they have not delivered the coolant. We quit using this place awhile back because they were just flat out rude. Now they don’t care again. Customer service is not their strong suit at all. Stay away from here unless you like to spend a lot of money and get no one that cares. Work shows. They all walk around and have no problem getting food and drinks. I guess they are hourly. Cars everywhere but mechanics walking around on their cell phones.

Over charged and misdiagnosed the issue with my vehicle, ended up moving it to another repair shop. Id suggest going to a solid mom and pop shop over these chains.

They also helped me get a rental car and drove me to the rent-a-car place. They explained the parts they used and provided warranty information.

My car died right in front of this shop in the street, I walked over to them asking for help, more than willing to pay them for help. The guy kept telling me there was nothing he could do even told me it would be 90 dollars just to tow again I was right in front of this shop. I wish I got his name he was definitely no help what so ever. Eventually I got help from a stranger driving by and she helped me get my car to the parking lot.edit: And no I dont have the wrong place I drive by it constantly bringing my little sister to AIM right up the street.

UPDATE: do NOT go here if you are a woman or have limited knowledge about vehicles.Mentioned my brakes were making noise when I went to get my oil changed. Guy at the front counter said my brakes were down to 30%. Told my dad, he had a service come out to my home to replace the brakes. The gent was very confused because there was 75% left on my brakes. I will never step foot in there again. Scam artist trying to screw over a student.They were fast, professional and affordable! Definitely going back to them.

I came in with two kids in tow trying to fix a battery problem I’ve had for months. Craig immediately went to work and had me back on the road within an hour. Courteous, professional, and friendly service is hard to find and McKay’s is overflowing with it. Highly recommend.

Went there this morning for shakiness and noise in truck front end. was greeted warmly by staff at the desk. vehicle was quickly diagnosed, a quote given and part ordered. after a couple of hours, my truck was repaired. reasonably priced, friendly, professional service from start to finish. they even went above and beyond by noticing that my spare wasn’t tightly secured under the truck and went through the extra effort to get it safe.

Went to the one on Gosling and the manager was very professional and informative of repairs needed on my front end. 24 month warranty is very comforting

These guys are awesome. When I moved here from Maryland, I had to get new Texas plates. But my rear MD plate was stuck for some reason. I came here and they went out of their way to remove the plates for me (they had to use some special power saw, after other tools failed). And to top it off, they didnt charge me a dime! So I made sure to return as a customer for an oil change, to show my thanks and support.The owner is friendly and honest with you. The waiting area is very clean and comfortable. Will definitely come back again.

Ive been ripped off by many mechanic shops and the only guys I trust to touch any of my vehicles anymore are John and Justin at McKays off of Sawdust Rd. I hired McKays to replace a new motor in my Chevy with another new motor because the last motor company (6 months prior) ripped me off and could not keep the motor running and eventually would not warranty their work. As approved install techs for the 100K mile factory Chevy warranty, John and Justin stepped in and installed my new factory Chevy motor with one install, one time and no problems afterwards. Extremely knowledgeable, quality vehicle techs that take the time to fix you up right! They priced me below market and stayed in touch with me throughout the process. Thank you so much I cant wait to see you guys again!

I took my truck in for an oil change on Friday the 5th. Mechanic found that the right trans axle was bad and the right rear brake pad was needing to be replaced. Not the news I wanted, but hey, if needs to be done, so be it. I was driving my family to Dallas, so better to be safe than sorry.As my truck was coming out of the bay, I see the mechanic look at the front of my truck, like he was looking for something. He drives my truck up front and leaves it. I get my keys from the front desk guy, get in and hear, what sounds like a loose belt when I start it. In a rush, because of the whole Dallas trip, but dont think much of it.Fast forward to Saturday. After a trip from hell to make it to Dallas, (including sitting 2 1/2 hours on I45 due to construction near Huntsville) I start up my truck and the noise is now louder. I take my truck up a dealership in McKinney to have their mechanics look at it. The noise was from a seized bearing from the piston to cam shaft. The mechanic there said that we were lucky to have made up there and that this should have been looked at earlier. I mentioned about having the truck worked on the day before. He said that a good mechanic wouldnt have missed that, let alone let someone drive a vehicle in that condition.So thanks for the nearly $800 repairs you all did. It will be the last time I will ever use your company. I would have rated your company only one star, but your mechanic found things that might have made our trip worse. Thanks for that, at least.

I have been a customer here for years and I’ve never had any trouble. I’ve had to come here recently and David is an employee that has helped a lot. Everyone here is efficient, fast and super friendly.

Have used McKays repeatedly for various repairs and have always had a great experience. We feel their prices are fair and weve never had to take the car back for any problems with the repairs. They have also saved us money by suggesting that we do this instead of that and the outcome has always been great. I highly recommend them.

Dude seriously...thank you SO MUCH CRAIG! My battery died in the walgreens drive thru (and the worst luck in the whole world award goes toooo!!! Yea me) but CRAIG came and helped me push it...IN THE RAIN, then changed my battery for me IN THE RAIN. And kept a good sense of humor through it all which I clearly needed because my day is obviously not going well. He sold me the battery at a more than fair price and putting it on was only 10 bucks more. I couldnt have felt more taken care of. He went above and beyond. Thank u again!

My son use to use them for oil change. The last 2 times they told him he had an oil leak. They wanted over $700 to put in dye and find and fix the leak. We monitored it to see if we saw evidence of a leak. We never saw oil on the drive so ignored it. The 2nd time they told him the same thing. When he went somewhere else they told him, no he did not have an oil leak. That was been 3 yrs ago and still no oil leak.

I first dealt with John and McKay Automotive two years ago. My pre-owned car had a fuel light/check engine light on and I was looking at having to run tests in the fuel line to find out what the problem was. John suggested I try getting a fuel cap from the dealer and didnt charge me a dime. Hes sent me on my way without a charge one other time as well. Honesty and integrity will get my business every time!

I have been in to McKays auto a few times now and have always had a good experience with the customer service and the quality of their work. And we all know how these auto shops can just rip you off with a smile on their face well McKays was not like that. The man at the front desk greeted me warmly and the technician knew how to fix the problems. So over all experience was a good one. I would highly recommend them to other people as i am taking all of my vehicles there as well as my family that is in the woodlands are all going there now.

Good service but a bit pricey.

Went in yesterday because my TPMS light was on. They filled my tires and let me know I had a nail in each of my passenger side tires. They apparently don’t do flat repairs but told me where I could get it done. Good, friendly service; nice people overall.

I was desperate. The AC stopped blowing cold in my truck & I had to pick up 9 foster cats in 45 minutes. Its 100° with a heat index of 106°. McKays told me no problem, took my truck back drained the old freon & put in new. Outstanding customer service!!!

First impressions are important. Balding guy at front desk was very rude. Snatched my keys out of my hands when I told him that I didn’t know the size of my motor. Wasn’t friendlyat all. When I said I’d take my business elsewhere I was told to have a good day. I only heard of this place due to a flyer I received. Awful customer service.

Im new to Texas. Had my oil changed here recently. Front staff desk was nice enough and informative, didnt have any problem there.However, Im at a Dodge Dealership now, and Ive just been told these guys didnt put my oil cap back on. (Im pretty inept with cars, Ill admit.) Weeks later, oil is all over my engine and Im being told Im lucky I dont have any serious damage. In the process of calling all over The Woodlands to try and find another oil cap. What a pain. I wont be coming back.

Great place, have an old car with 150k miles on it and have several issues taken care of and promptly fixed without problem. Had a few cars with this many miles or more, and had several others in the area tell me I had a bunch of issues that were not really there, just common with a car this age.happy to bring my car here anytime.

I used to like the guy at the desk here, who was very unpolished (dressed like a mechanic), but honest and straight-forward. But when I went back to have an alignment done, there was a heavier guy in khakis and a shirt with a collar. I need to find paperwork for his name. He told me that it was only a little out of alignment, but that I needed both shocks and struts replaced. I was given a big estimate. I had a feeling by the end of the conversation that he was taking me for a...multiple opinions since then have confirmed my worst suspicions

I have had numerous services performed at McKays and other than being a little high priced, I have felt like they actually did a good job till today. I had them replace the radiator in my daughters car. It appears they failed to re-fill the transmission fluid that was lost in the process and the transmission is now toast. Transmission shop told me to contact them because it is obvious what happened.....McKays would not stand behind their work. They have lost a repeat customer and I would not recommend anyone doing business with them!

Horrible customer service, very overpriced and constantly losing my car key. Took them a full day just for an alignment, unreal. Needless to say I wont be returning.

These people don’t seem to want to work. Bad customer service. Acted as if my vehicle didn’t have insurance. Then told someone over the phone he didn’t have an inspector. Why waste my time and didn’t say that in the first place. Took time off my busy schedule to come to this good for nothing. Anyway went to another shop done in 5 minutes.

So Im a first time customer with McKays. I brought my car in today to have my alternator replaced. This was my only vechile so time was of the most importance. They said my vechile will be done today and the prices was very reasonable... Take your car McKays they will take care of you..
