Had such a great experience buying a new car from Glassman- even during these peculiar COVID times. Todd made the process as simple as possible from start to finish. Jeff, Josh, and Jesse (I think that was his name- the good-looking finance guy) were all very kind, accommodating, and patient while I asked every question I could think of. Will recommend them to friends and family despite this not being the closest dealership to my town. Go to them! Theyre not sneaky or anything. Oh! And I had my other Subaru serviced here a few weeks ago and Matt was great!!

I was at the beginning of a two-week road trip from Colorado, and my Subarus oil light came on. The staff at Glassman was incredible - they had me come in without an appointment, checked everything over, gave my Ru an oil change, and let me use a coupon! My car was totally fine for the rest of the trip!

It was my first time coming in to get my mothers Forester serviced. Pretty good service and very friendly. Was a bit slow when I went. Took just under two and a half hours for an oil change (with no tire rotation) and it wasnt very busy. I was surprised how long it took!Again the staff here are super friendly and great to work with.

I have gone to Glassman for my last 2 cars. I have purchased slightly used vehicles for the cost savings while still getting all the features I want. I have been fortunate to work with Charley K for both of these purchases. It is both rare and welcome as a woman to feel so comfortable with a car buying experience. Everyone on the team at Glassman has taken great care of my car wants and pricing needs. There are closer dealerships to my house, but I will choose Glassman every time!

I was SO impressed by the service at Glassman Subaru! The woman who helped me (Mel) took such great care of me and my car - she even helped me get a loaner car while they worked on mine for 4 days. I didnt have to pay for any of the work because it was covered under warranty. I will definitely be returning whenever my car needs work.

Just bought a Forester from them and had a great experience. Hands down, best dealer I have dealt with so far. No lies, no hidden fees, and straight to the point. They matched other dealer trade in value, and they definitely have the best prices. They’re the quickest most responsive dealer in the area. Jeffry was my sales person and he made every thing go fast and smooth.

I took my car in because I received a recall notice. My expectation when I made the appointment was that the part would be replaced. Turns out, you have to have an initial appointment to confirm that the part needs replacement and then make a subsequent appointment to have the part installed. So now I need to make another appointment and go back again to take care of the recalled fuel pump.

I had an amazing experience at Glassman! I was taken care of very well and love my new vehicle. Charley Kashou was the best sales rep and I highly recommend him! Charley’s positive energy and attentive customer service enhanced the overall buying experience for me. Purchasing a vehicle is a big investment and going through the numbers can be overwhelming. Went in for a recall with a Free Birthday car wash post card. Also slow leak in tire. Supposedly the tire had a screw on the side so with less than 5000 miles on the car I had to buy a new tire. Picked up first time with no car wash. “Oh we will get it next time”. Go back to get tire installed and still no car wash even after asking about it when I dropped off. They claimed they couldn’t wash with window deflectors on even though they are Subaru original deflectors. I waited for carTo be driven out to me and asked the kid for the survey card. “Oh I threw that away”.I will be going to another Subaru dealer even though that is where I bought my car. The tire was even dirtier than my car when I picked up

I called the service department to get repairs done on my car, the lady on the phone seemed in a rush but she offered me basically a next day appointmnet. She didnt say how long the appointment would take or the cost, I had to ask. It was Friday and they had a Monday opening -- so I was glad they could take me in so fast! Over the weekend, I read over the 4+ rating but I saw some concerning reviews and decided to cancel. Monday morning I call to cancel but come to find out...the appointment was never booked! I would have wasted hours of my day for an appointment that didnt exist. Im glad I read these reviews.

I know what sales people will do normally but this is something I never experienced or heard about. They not just met what they committed but they increased from where we were in negotiation at some point. Rude customer service, called to get a quote and first contact was nice but transfer 2x after and very rude. Asked to get a quote on having a hitch installed. And all the rude person heard was how much was a hitch, which I already have just need to have it installed. They said they would call me back and didnt even ask what vehicle I have. Will not be giving them any of my business.

Prices are different on websites and in-person. $105 for oil change and tire rotation for a suburu. Had previous bad encounters with them but gave them 2 more chances and still. They used more than 6 hours in doing an oil change and didnt communicate why. Just not straightforward with everything out there.

I have a warranty on my tires and I called to make an appointment to get it fixed/replaced. The woman said come in today. Okay, perfect. So my car gets taken in only for them to not have my tire in stock and it’s a 40 minute drive one way. Why tell me to come in when you don’t have it???

It is very clear based on my experience with Glassman Subaru of Southfield they do not value customer service. They are either incredibly dishonest or really unorganized. I had been communicating with someone at the dealership daily on a specific vehicle I was interested in for 3 days. I checked in multiple times to confirm the vehicle was still on the lot and available for sale. At 3:07 pm, on my appointment day I was assured that the vehicle was on the lot and available for sale. So imagine my surprise when I arrived for my appointment, to find the vehicle had been sold. Of course there was another one available; a more expensive, newer model, that I might be interested in. When I asked what time the vehicle sold I was told first thing this morning, even though I was told it was available when I had asked earlier in the afternoon. This is bad business practice!! It is incredibly annoying also. I’m a very busy woman with two jobs and a family, finding time in my day to do anything is nearly impossible and to be taken for a ride is even more infuriating. Do not give your business to this dealership!!!

I had a great experience here. I got every maintenance item I wanted done done, plus some. My only complaint would be that it took a couple of days for them to be done with my vehicle. But that wasn’t necessarily their fault, as the software updates for my vehicle took a while to download and install.One issue that went completely unaddressed was the digitizer line/squiggly line issue with my head unit. They were convinced it was a software issue, even though I knew it was a hardware issue and there’s even a TSB out for it. I had already reached out to SOA about the issue, and they said I’d have to have it inspected by a dealer for them to take any further action. It’s been a really bad safety defect for me, as I can’t see objects in the rear view camera when it’s the least bit sunny out. Not sure why it isn’t a recall, many others have had the same issue, although possibly not as severe as mine.

I went to Glassman Subaru on a Thursday with a VIP discount. Salesman said Mr Glassman was using the car I wanted to buy and that I could return on Friday to look at it. I called Friday morning to confirm the appointment but the salesman said he couldn’t get the car until Monday and he asked if I would still purchase the car w/o the discount - DUH? He called me Monday morning and said he sold the car for full price on Saturday. The salesman and the sales manager knew I wanted the car but it seems they did not want to sell it through the Subaru VIP discount program. I reported their shady dealings to Subaru of America corporate. I would NOT RECOMMEND dealing with the Glassman group.

Extremely upset with this dealership! My 71 yo mom went there today to buyout her lease and purchase the car...she was basically was ripped off from the front to the back with little to no explanation. They took her actual lease buy-out price on her original contract and increased the cost by $3,000 and told her that was her buy-out!I tried to assist but was on work calls and couldnt chat, only text her. They tried to sell her an extended warranty for $4,100 and when I found a Subaru MSRP price sheet showing $2,800, they magically matched the price. She still paid for many excess fees and costs that I need to figure out.NEVER AGAIN will she visit the sales team at this dealership taking advantage of older people!! This is WRONG and you know it.

Went for an interview and it was the strangest. Mr. Glassman seemed offended at me interviewing him as he was interviewing me. If you check the Indeed and Glassdoor reviews, they are pretty spot on. Seems like this place needs a leadership change when it comes to people culture. $500 a week and 60 hours is never worth working for someone with the mindset of just filling open spots.

Made an appointment and double confirmed car was there. Drove two hours and was told it sold that morning. Made my appointment well after it was sold apparently and they never contacted me. Just made me waste time. The car was actually still sitting inside with all the others. Rediculous. No apology or anything. Ignored texts and emails afterwards. I have really started to loathe dealerships and this place is no different. Avoid.

Frustrating. They said repairs would take 2 hours. Got up early, at 8am to take in and over 3.5 hours later we had to call and see if it was done. Another 1.5 hours got a call it was ready.Then, they couldnt fix the GPS time that was working prior to their service area work iij ng on our electrical system.Not a fan... of Glassman.

Customer lounge is clearly not enough to support customer needs. I had an appointment for software update recall and service came with 27 point multi inspection offered by Glassman.. Guess what tire pressure was not checked, they did not wash my vehicle, washer fluid was not filled... God knows what all they did not do... Horrible experience.. never coming back to this service facility ever again...

Just recently bought a pre-owned car from them and so far its amazing. My mechanic let me know the car was practically new underneath and the car itself feels amazing. The experience was a bit long as there was lots of paperwork to sign; however thats pretty normal. If you want someone to treat you nice though go with Charley! He was great and helped us through everything, the experience was incredibly smooth and we left happy.

ALERT: make sure to verify if the features they promise are actually in the car. They mentioned that the car have auto dimmable side mirrors which it doesn’t. when I spoke to the sales rep he tried to convince me that the mirrors are auto dimmable by focusing a light on them and we for sure came to know that they aren’t. We asked them if they can add that feature as promised and the sales rep told me that I have to pay for it. My question was since he promised that the car comes with that feature why should I pay extra?? Then the “RUDE” Manager came and said that he cannot make a deal. Seriously for $250 worth of auto dimming mirrors? You guys need to learn how to deal with your customers. Please DO NOT give FALSE information to customers!!I wish I had the option to give negative rating.

Bought a 2020 “CPO” Subaru Ascent and in less than 24 hours after purchasing the vehicle it needs a transmission replacement. I went back to the dealer to complain and the manager, Gary, blamed me for the transmission problems. Way to go treating your customers, Gary! The vehicle shouldn’t have been sold as certified. I tried to return the vehicle and I was told that the car already depreciated in less than 24 hours by +$3000; if return it I loose money. I don’t want the vehicle but my hands are tied. Apart from feeling disappointed I feel scammed.

Glassman has been my go-to dealer for work on my 2012 Subaru Outback and my significant others 2012 Kia Forte. I live just a few minutes from Suburban Subaru in Troy, but Ive never felt as heard or well-treated as I do at Glassman. When my transmission failed on a recent road trip, they were quick to get my car looked at and get a warranty claim into Subaru of America. Additionally, they set me up with a loaner while work was being done. Marcy in the service department is always happy to deal with my many questions and shes a pleasure to work with. Ill definitely continue taking my Subaru to Glassman.

Let me start by saying this, Charley (a salesmen there) treated me with respect and tried very hard to ensure the sale of the car I bought with them went smoothly. if you do end up buying from this dealership, you want Charley as your salesman. Aside from that, I would warn you to stay away. Not only was I kept waiting multiple times (not Charley’s fault), but the amount of sketchy tactics they use is unbelievable. I came in to buy a Subaru Impreza that I saw it listed on their website. When I called, I was told they will work with me on pricing. This is a common phrase that every dealership uses to get you in the door. I wanted this car though, so I went to check it out. After a test ride we were met with an offer that was above what the car was listed for on the site. We did try to negotiate down, Charley was nice enough to work with us but brought us back up a little bit, then we agreed on a price. He then brought it to his manager and they said they were not moving on the price at all. We talked back-and-forth until they agreed to at least knock $100 off of it. As this was the only thing they were willing to do with us, I saw fit to go with the lender I had previously used and had a good relationship with. Upon learning this, they not only took away the negotiated price we had agreed-upon, but then raised it to the original offer which was still above the price listed on their website. We left the dealership, and Charley chased us out the door, agreeing to help us out on the price and ensuring that we would get a lower rate than my lender. I agree to the terms, but after inspection following confirmation of purchase, I found that they had several hidden fees in my price in order to get The total cost back up to what they had originally offered. Granted, they gave me an incredible interest rate, but other than that this dealership essentially wasted my time and tricked me. I’d be happy to provide anyone who wants to follow up on this review proof of their trickery. You’re better off with one of those new online car dealers. At least you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for when you put in your payment information. Charley helped us the best he could, but this dealership has a pretty good scam going on, so watch yourself. Wish I would have paid better attention. Their most common phrase is “I’ve got people looking to buy this car,” and “I already have it sold to someone else.” So be aware of what you’re getting yourself into.

The only reason I gave this four starts is that the appointment application needs to provide better information. I previously made an appointment that was confirmed, only to find out the dealership was closed. When I made the second appointment, it was not clear that I would have to leave my vehicle overnight. However, the dealership provided a loner which made the oversight acceptable (only I had to drive out there twice). Service that was provided was efficient and friendly.

Normaly I am very pleased when taking my 2017 Subaru Outback for service,but not today. Actually very disappointed 😞. Today, Saturday August 15, my husband and I dropped off his 2008 Subaru Outback to have the airbag recall done. Service that should have taken place on Friday, the scheduled appointment day. My husband took the day off from work, but he got a call Thursday night saying Subaru did not have the neccessary parts and to come on Monday. With Monday not being an option, the person on the phone made arrangements to allow my husband to drop off the car on Saturday and take a loaner until the job was completed. This person believed it would be two days so Wednesday would be the day to pick up my husbands car and return the loaner. Easy, right?...wrong! We arrived Saturday morning and the person who received the car was all upset about what we thought were the arrangements and tells us that the person who spoke on the phone had no idea what she was talking about, the job would be done in a day and she was doing us a favor by allowing us to have a loaner until Monday night. What happened to treating others with kindness and smiling... I have been trying to convince my husband to buy a new car from Glassman for months, he was starting to seriously think about it. Unfortunately, after today not much hope for that. I just hope to find nice people at Glassman service next time I go. Luckily for my husband and Glassman I am not working on Monday and I will be able to drop off the loaner and pick up my husbands car.

Thank you !Summary/TL;DR : H1B/Work visa holders you might as well save some time and energy and stay away from this place.Horrible experience buying a certified pre-owned Subaru, I will not recommend Glassman to anyone.Post finalizing a deal, transferring insurance, filling out paperwork, AND waiting for an hour at the dealership, i was told (via Mr. Randall - salesperson, Mr Gary- Manager and Mr Andy- finance guy) that we can-not complete the deal today since Chase denied a loan for me - just after i told them i was on a work visa (which expires in 2023!). When i said, i can do external financing i was told Andy will talk to Chase the following morning on my behalf . Fair enough you would think, however i was given a run-around for the next two days regarding how Andy has not been in office and hence hasnt been able to talk to the bank . Finally after 3 days and multiple calls/texts when i pushed to get the work order to apply for self-financing, i got a work order which was $1500 more than the agreed upon price, without any explanation whatsoever as to why the price quoted is different from 3 days ago.This week i closed a deal with Hodges Subaru for a CPO Subaru Outback, financed through dealer from Chase at an interest rate lower than i was offered via Glassman ! So i know for sure Chase did NOT deny my loan application.Thanks Glassman for not doing business with me !Not only did they waste my time and made a hard credit enquiry, they also went back on their word - because i am on a visa and potentially a high risk individual even though i have excellent credit.

I’m definitely not feeling the love from Subaru.I was told their cars are built like tanks, and their commercials are warm and fuzzy – but buyer beware of their hype!I bought a used 2010 manual Forester three years ago from Carmax that had about 55K miles on it. (Carmax checks out their cars very carefully on over 200 checkpoints, and the used manual Ford Ranger I got from them with ~57K has 292K on it now. No problems; great truck!)Bad Experience #1:Around 75K, the throw-out bearing in the clutch system suddenly broke off during my Christmas Eve travels in Delaware, wrecking the entire clutch system and leaving me stranded over the holidays for about two weeks while the dealership did the diagnosis and order the parts.  The clutch had been working just fine and had shown no signs of wear. (My general mechanic at the time told me the exact same thing had just happened to another Forester he had just repaired.) Despite my ordeal and patience, the dealership in couldn’t even be bothered to throw in the oil change it needed or vacuum out the dang thing.I called Subaru and left a recording to let them know about my experience. I never heard back.Experience #2:Then, last February, with ~114K on it, in the middle of the Michigan winter, the starter cranked away (strongly), but wouldn’t fire/start. Sometimes, after it sat for a couple of hours and it warmed up outside in the sunlight, or my mechanics rolled it into their garage, then it would start. And it would always start after I’d driven it – but not after it sat for several hours in the cold.I then took it to Glassman, where they had it over our Covid lockdown for about two months. Although it was clearly not the battery since it cranked strong, they made me buy a new battery from them. Then they replaced the four electrical relays. When I came to pick it up in the warmer spring, all they could say was that it was starting regularly, and if it stopped starting again in the cold, that I should replace the main electrical harness ($3000 for the part alone, not including labor) and IF that didn’t work, then to replace the main engine harness (for a few thousand more). Wow! All that non-diagnosis after two months with their “top diagnostician” --for more money than the trade-in or sale value.A couple of summer weeks later, again, it would crank away, but wouldn’t start at all without a jump. A service center staffer agreed that it seemed I had gotten a lemon and they encouraged me to call Subaru corporate to see if there was anything they could do to help me. Even if I hadn’t bought it from a dealership, the point was that a Forester with only 114K on it just shouldn’t be ready for the scrap heap. The new harnesses (IF that would even work) would cost more than the trade-in or direct sales price, and more than I still owed on it. I said I wasn’t blaming Subaru, but it seems I had gotten something of a lemon. Was there anything they would be willing to do as far as help?The answer was a resounding NO. Nada. They said I hadn’t bought it from them, and it was far beyond warranty. –But gee, they’d give me $1000 off a new Subaru. –Wow! Thanks for nothing, Subaru.So, like I said – don’t be fooled by the warm, fuzzy ads. Subaru doesn’t really stand behind their cars when they don’t perform or last as expected. Empty hype. And sometimes, crap cars.

I came in for an oil change. Cole, a nice young man in Service Department waited on me. I explained how I happened to be there that day and a previous not so good Southfield Kia closely prevented this visit. Cole assured me of no repeats of that situation. He and the cashier were friendly, professional and thorough. I understood the service my vehicle received and it was completed within a few hours.

Worst dealership I’ve ever attempted to do business with, I was told by a salesmen he wouldn’t allow me to test drive a car I wanted to buy, further more he refused to sell it to me because he felt I was too young to own this car.. then proceeded to be rude and condescending to me until I decided to just leave..from there I went to a much better Subaru dealership who not only let me test drive the car I was looking for they sold it to me and were extremely pleasant.. I wish I had listened to the bad reviews before wasting my time at this dealershipThank you lafontaine Subaru for treating me well and selling me my brand new STI it’s too bad glassman couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs

I bought a 2020 Subaru Forester from Glassman Subaru. The salesman I spoke to was Jon Paul. He was very professional. He provided the best deal to me. He answered all the questions I had. I had a pleasant experience with him. If I need to buy another car in the future, I would not hesitate to contact Jon Paul again.And yes, he has a Scottish accent :)

I brought my car in for service (that department is great) and met Jon Paul while poking around the sales floor. I have been considering changing from my Impreza Sport to a Forrester for awhile. After talking a bit with JP, I made my decision and walked out with a new Forester in about 1.5 hours start to finish. He’s a really nice guy, he listens to you and moves quickly while not making you feel rushed. A great car buying experience...which is not always the case. Thanks JP.

The Glassman Service Department handled my repair in the best possible manner and provided the best result possible.I felt they treated me with honesty. The repair cost actually came in under what was quoted. For this reason I added additional repair workthat could have been delayed, while the vehicle was still in their bay.In addition I felt they supported me in a disagreement with the manufacturer.All of this occured during difficult pandemic operating conditions and new protocols.In short, Im extremely pleased with Glassman Service. There are only a handful of companies in any industry that I feel are deserving of high recognition.
