My absolute favorite sporting goods chain! Excellent customer service, a wide variety of merchandise and great prices. Although if youre looking for ammo and/or firearms during these trying times youll be hard pressed to find anything here, much less anywhere else. But when they do have ammunition in stock it is always fairly priced and not inflated like other retailers in the area.

Went for ammo, there wasnt much but we got what we could. The guy in the gun section is very helpful. Staff here is quite friendly and polite. But selection of certain items were reduced and I feel like its time for that to be corrected, especially by a national chain.

Ammo and guns are reasonably priced, only set back is 2 boxes of ammo per person. The staff is very efficient, the line for ammo goes really fast. So if your in the market for ammo, dont spend 2x 3x 4x prices, just wait in line ans get it for the regular price.

Great store, got some bargains

We love Academy they always have everything well-stocked and great deals on shoes. If youre looking for sports attire this is the place to go in town with the best prices . Plenty of school clothes as far as uniform style. Not very many of the unique khaki shorts that are currently in style.

I use to love this place but customer service is starting to get horrible. I went to get ammo so Im standing at counter where the ammo is at. The cashier looks at me (the whole time she is on the phone rolls her eyes and keep talking on phone) so I ask if I can get some ammo she tells me you have to come over here ok im fine with that walk around. The whole time she stayed on the phone I waited till I can talk she just goes what do you want. After I told her I want to use my credit card but I have to give her my number she told me they dont do that when I do it everytime. This is not my 1st bad experience here but it will be my last. I will spend the extra few dollars to go to sportsmen warehouse so much better service never had a problem here except price until now.

Had a return. Received excellent customer service from supervisor/manager Tessa. She went out of her way to help solve an issue that was my fault.

Terrible management, they tried to force me to wear a mask and said that i couldnt come in without one . Not getting my business. I turned right around and walked back out. Im sure sales are down while the company i work for is hitting record sales for months.

I went into the store to get some shoes for myself and my grandchildren. We are military, and we are supposed to visit essential stores only. This is considered essential as they sell survival items, food items, and other essential products. While I was in there, I saw a set of bumper boats that I wanted for my grandchildren for the pool. They were priced at $99 99 in Academy, but they were $59.99 at Walmart. Academy price matched and beat the price by 5%. Additionally, they asked if I was military or a dependent. I showed my ID and got another discount off my entire order. Also, the shoes I wanted were on clearance at half off, and the shoes for my grand children or also significantly this counted. This was a great experience and the staff was extremely helpful.

Cant even get any help from the people that work there. Like 3 people who work there. Very under staffed.

Hard to find someone to help you

I dont mind being put on hold. And I understand people are busy. I dont mind waiting. But 3 times in a row, Ive been on hold for 5-10 minutes and I heard them pick up the phone and hang it back up. Its a total waste of time to call them.

They had good quality but their first changing room has a mirror and if someone’s walking in u can see all the girls changing because the mirror on the inside faces the OLD GUY sitting at the counter in the fitting areaI thought I was inappropriate and anxiety indusing

Frustrating that one store cant find which store has available sizes that they dont....or at least thats what the employee told me.

They just lost a $1,500/yr customer today over their lack of ability to exchange $68 worth of merchandise. It started at the service counter with a very condescending attitude. That should have been a sign. They blamed their “system” for not finding my transaction even after showing them the exact time and day on the credit card site. 2 managers later could not come up with a solution. I vote with my money. They lost. Dick’s across town had everything I needed for $339. Academy needs to do better. Train their employees better. There are no bad teams, only bad leaders. I’m done with them.

All the stiff you need EXCEPT the following, firearm ammunition of all types, airsoft bbs, metal bbs, and firearms.

I shop there for over an hour and it seems as if there was no one available to help. On my way out I spoke with the cashier and he didnt seem to have a helpful attitude nor would he get me the help that I needed. No, not a good shopping experience.

I have been calling Academy for over a week and no one answered the phone at every single store except the Hammond, LA store. I had to drive to Baton Rouge to get what I wanted because they would not answer the phone. And that is the last purchase I will make with them. EVER!

Enjoy going to Academy. They have such a large selection of tennis shoes at reasonable prices. I have bought numerous fishing and workout clothes. They have great sales and I have gotten some very nice things on sale. They also have a very good return policy.

Didnt have any winter clothes, coveralls, jackets, etc... Its supposed to snow this week and everybody has done away with winter clothes. Guns are sold out also.

Everything you need for the outdoors.

Working at academy sports and outdoors was a horrid experience. They allowed a male (team lead) to harass me. When brought to their attention, one manager said when a woman comes forward they believe her, even if it isnt true. Never wanted to come forward, someone else reported him harassing me. Anyway, the management there is poor. Academy itself has a very high school like environment. Team leads yell and are unprofessional. Policies change on a daily basis.

I just happened to go to Academy and was surprised when I walked in. Im guessing they were getting ready to restock. There were aisles of shoes and clothing marked clearance and items 65% off. I dont know how that is going on, but there was still a good bit of merchandise left on1-19-2020.Get there quick.

Me and my girlfriend went to Academy to get tennis shoes and left with a lot more. They had some nice sales going on that we couldnt say no to. Nice workout clothes too.
