I dropped off my BMW at Ellis on a referral to have the water pump replaced since I was unfamiliar with the cooling system on that vehicle. That was on a Monday & was told by Chris theyd get to it Tuesday. Friday I had to call (again) and was informed the water pump wasnt the issue. But they charged for it & changed the part anyway (with no call from Chris like he promised if issues arise). Only to be told the thermostat was the problem. $520+ and its worse for the wear. Several dash lights on that werent before. Greasy hand prints on the interior. Oh and Chris would rather lie to you when the truth sounds better. Only reason I have it a 1 is because I couldnt pick any lower.

Google should allow negative ☆s!! Stay far far away from this place. They called us up there 3 times to let us know our a/c was fixed. First 2 times nothing had been done.. On the 3rd time they had overcharged the unit and blew my brand new compressor (which I had paperwork proving it was new not rebuilt). They then proceeded to yell and cuss that I had to pay or lose my truck!! The following day I talked with the owner who just had me pay the $70 worth of freon they used to blow up my compressor but finally gave me my keys back.The problem is I AM a mechanic and was just too overloaded with my IT job to fix this issue for my kids quickly in this heat. So anyone who actually doesnt know anything about the mechanics of your car DO NOT go here. They will lie to your face and rob you blind and claim any damage they did was already like that. Bad business ethics.

Guy talk to you on the phone with nice for being a mechanic and having some guy called and asked 50 questions about a car...I found out that they also sell cars sometimes which is good to know

Ellis is fast at getting through state inspections considering there usually being a line of folks there for the same. Their service is good, and they aint grouchy. I only find maneuvering my vehicles around their doors a little nerve wracking, because of how busy the place is, and how its only accessible via a skinny road in front and the adjoining one-way street. Overall, Ellis is a well-known and popular auto repair and wrecker business all around Grayson and bordering counties.

Replaced fuel filter, fuel pump and valve gasket cover. Went to Grease N Go and they told me I had a gas leak and that I needed to get it fixed asap because it could cause a fire. I was not happy to say the least. Spent over1200. Now having to pay someone to fix it plus it needed a tune up

There were great. They were efficient and done the work in timely manner. Kept us informed of what they found so we could decide how to proceed before charging me for work not originally known. Will use them every time I need care repairs

Absolutely horrible customer service from david. Stay away from this shop! They are a very half hearted, get it in and out kind if shop. After paying waiting 3 days and spending over 300$ and still having the same AC issues as before when it was dropped off to have the ac diagnosed, i finally just took it somewhere else. I took it to John Chaks Auto in denison, and Johns team did great! Id recommend them over Ellis auto any day of the week!

Epic as always. Takes some time, but they stay pretty busy, and its no wonder with the quality of work they put in. They find ways to reduce cost, keep you well informed, and dont add fixes on without consulting the customer first.

Used Ellis for two jobs early in 2020. Had an incredible *5* problems caused by the two jobs. Three of them, Ellis fixed. By #4, I decided to go somewhere else. Prices are fair and service is friendly, but the problems with quality mean I cannot return. For their sake, I hope maybe I just hit a period with a bad tech. UPDATE: dropped it to 1 star because I just learned a part is missing, that was part of the belt job they did.

To be fair. They eventually got the work done. You may have to take it back few times to get it right.But if youre OK with Loose Bolts, Missing Parts, Improper Methods and Steep Prices then go for it.But I will never let them touch any of my vehicles again. Now Im having to recheck all their work and just keep finding more mistakes at every turn.One poor quality mechanic can ruin entire business reputation.Update: Timing Belt out of time and improper belt tension contribute premature failure of support bracket.All bolts were loose and Falling out.

Let me start of by saying that I had a vehicle towed yesterday and the service I received from him was fantastic. No problems with him. However, his wrecker left a puddle of oil in my driveway. Naturally, I called to inform them. The woman I spoke with couldnt have cared less and kept asking me what I was asking her. What do you think? Yea left oil all over my driveway. What do you think Im asking. Come clean it up! So now I get to spend part of my Saturday scrubbing my driveway. Thanks guys.

I wish I could give no stars. My boyfriend took his truck here because it wasn’t running well. He was charged for a diagnostic and $240 to fix a small electronic part in his truck. He picked it up one afternoon and drove it home. Next morning his truck would no longer start at all. So less than 24 hours later and we’re stuck with a truck in the driveway that won’t start. We’ve attempted contact multiple times through phone and email and no one will reply or answer. We’re now having to pay for a tow truck to take it to a different mechanic to get fixed; a process that should not have to happen if it was fixed properly while at this shop to begin with.

I would never recommend anyone doing business with this establishment. I took my car in for a fuel tank replacement. We had trouble from the start with them cooperating with my insurance. When I finally do get my vehicle back its in worse condition than when I took it in. It was not drivable and was reading that the transmission needed to be serviced which was never an issue prior to them working on it. I returned the following day and they put a computer on it to see exactly what was wrong with it, they then told me that not one or two but 15 different codes popped up and they didnt know why but it was possible that when replacing my fuel tank they couldve knocked something out of place. They mentioned that my battery had died while they were working on it and needed to be reset. They said they would check it and call me when it was ready. I receive a call that my car was ready and they still didnt know why that happened and that it was nothing that they had done. They said I had to take it to a dealer . My question is how do I take it in with only one problem and and get it back with 15 other issues and now I have to take it to a different place and spend more money on a problem they caused. The man in charge has horrible customer service and did not want to take responsibility for their faulty work. HORRIBLE PEOPLE. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

I was headed back from Houston to Oklahoma when my front hub bearing went bad and I almost lost my front tire. I called them up to see if they could fix it for me and they said they could. I ask if they could fix it right away and they said they were pretty busy and that it might be the next day. When I told them I was from Oklahoma city and trying to get back home they said if I could get there quickly they would get me fixed up that day.They jumped right on it and stayed 30 minutes after closing time to get me back on the road. Very friendly and professional services. The price was very reasonable. Just want to say thanks you guys were a lifesaver.

My car was in need of a replacement timing belt as it had broken down at a gas station near my house. I had my car towed from said gas station to Ellis auto by one of their employees. The work was done quickly, thus the 1 Ive given them on service. Without any consultation they decided to replace the entire timing system and charged nearly 700 dollars for the work done. When I arrived to retrieve my vehicle, the passenger side tail light was busted. They claimed to know nothing about it and told me it was road hazard. I should note that I was with my car when it was picked up by the wrecker and the tail light was in fact intact. A complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau. They called and said they had a replacement tail light for the one they didnt break and when I went to pick it up proceeded to tell me that because a complaint was filed with the BBB they saw no need to help me out. Ellis Auto is not a proponent of honesty, and I will be sure to recommend to everyone I know and hopefully their families that they stay away from this establishment.

One star is too many.Dropped 2007 Ford Expedition for non working brakes at Ellis Auto on March 12, with notification I would return to town 3 weeks later.March 16 called to check diagnosis. Was told a part was needed and it was being ordered. was assured that I would be called when the part arrived within a few days. No call was made to me.March 22. Called again. was told part was finally in and would be put on the car. again told I would be called with costs and completion. no call back.March 26. Called them They would get it done that day or the following and would call me. The bill was going to be $493.40. I asked for additonal services were needed-oil change, and inspection. No call back AGAIN.March 28 Called them to see what charges would be. The said $493.40. I gave them my card info to pay the bill. I asked it that included the oil change and inspection. No record of that request. Again they would call me. AGAIN no call back.March 30 called them to see about additonal billing. They didnt know the amount yet.April 2 - charges of $493.40 were paid via cardApril 4 - TRIED to pick up vehicle. they said they found a problem and didnt have a solution yet. They reported that the issue I brought the auto in was not fixed at all. I was told they were trying to save me money by trying another step and it would be ready later. At this point, the credibility was shot. I removed my auto from their premises. While having to argue about NOT paying for an inspection. Charged me an additonal $70 for oil changeComplaints:1. I beleive the extensive time (3 weeks) they had the vehicle gave them ample time to diagnosis and make the repairs.2. No call backs EVER!!3. Never took responsibility for their screw ups4. Paid $493.40 and the vehicle is in the EXACT same condition as when I took it there.Congratulations, ELLIS auto. you got $560 for an oil change.And I tell every person I encounter.

3 weeks had my Ford while I was away from home. Called multiple times for update. NEVER got a return call. Day 20 was told it was done and paid over $450. And they forgot the oil change. Tried to pick up the SUV, but they said there was a problem. A problem? 21 days later??? Charged another $80 for oil change. After 3 weeks and still not done, took to another repair place. And the issue the Ford had, was the issue I took it in for. All in all....paid $530 for oil change. Rating -5.

Speedy and efficient great customer service

Took my car in 3 weeks ago due to my check engine light on and my oil gauge not working fixed it took 2 days and didnt even call to tell what it was before they fixed it just called to tell me it was fixed and how much it was when i picked it up (which i found out today could have gotten it foxed 76.00 cheaper)then a week later light came on again called them they said to bring it back said i had a pin size hole in a hose said he reset it then a code about a brake plug or something to that nature needed to be pushed back in to come get it no charge and then now a week later the light is on again took it some where else and the cap on the evap tester was missing like it had been purposely removed coming from the mouth from another mechanic since this isnt even an emissions county that should never be messed with needless to say i got the cap and its now fixed going back to the other mechanic to have my alternator replaced since its about to go out and they didnt even tell me that he knew just by listening to the car dont use this place unless you want to keep going back and leaving your car for days at a time and its still not fixed

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I brought my Toyota in to get looked at around 10 am or so. After I dropped it off I went home to wait till 5:00 PM with out so much as a phone call. When I pick my car up he tells me he hadnt had a chance to look at it. And to bring it in at 8:00 am tomorrow and wed be the second people he helped. So At 8:00 the next day Im the first person in the building. Hand him my keys, remind him who I am and whats going on. Then leave to get some breakfast. I return at 10:30 or so. I ask the girl at the front desk for an ETA. When she finally had enough time to look up from her phone, she looked at me and said I dont know. And continued to rub on her phone. I asked again could you go check? She rolled her eyes and stomped away to go ask. Ellis happened to walk out, recognized us and asked, did we come to drop off the keys? We replied Nooo...? you have them. Suddenly he remembers and Says he hasnt gotten to us but were next. So finally around 11 am they take my car on a test drive. Then get it in the Garage at 11:45 or so. I ask The front dest girl to get an eta on what their doing and when theyll be done. Again she reacts like I asked her to give me a kidney. She comes back to tell me basically nothing other than theyre taking lunch. So We wait in the waiting room through the 2 hr lunch with children screaming and the mechanics flirting with the front desk girl. till they felt it time to actually do something. Finally after waiting basically 2 DAYS to get my car back. He fixed BRAKES for $900!!!!!!(When I had this done in Dallas it took 3 hrs.) As I drive it home it sounds Exactly the same if not worse. Now it being after hours (because it took all day) I have to Return it to wait out another 2 day saga of them telling me Im next, to look at the faulty work they did in the first place. Only for them to tell me I dont know, I think its nothing. So now I have to take it to Mckinney have a REAL mechanic look at it and evidently THE IDIOT bent my dust guard and had it rubbing against my rotor every time I hit a bump. LONG STORY SHORT DONT GO HERE!!!! INCOMPETENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the front dest girl has no customer service at all hire someone who knows how to smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im contacting the BBB!!!!!!!!!!!
