This is the only physical location that Feathered Friends has, and what a great one it is. The staff was incredibly helpful and patient, because this is the only chance youll have to physically try their products. They also sell jackets, gloves, mittens, and assorted other products that keep you warm. But we all know that no bag could possibly keep you as warm as a Feathered Friends sleeping bag.

Feathered Friends has a great selection of the world’s best down mountaineering gear.  Seriously, their gear is rugged and performs incredibly well. They also have some tech shirts and shells (Montbell, Patagonia), and some tents.  After seeing their display, we went in for their down bedding (pillows and blankets). The down pillow we bought is the most comfortable thing Ive ever used.  Its like sleeping on a fluffy cloud.

Love the gear! However have yet to have a positive customer service experience. Its usually just ageism in the form of being ignored by the service reps and one time being told I dont need an ultra light bag and when I explained it was for thru hiking the rep literally rolled her eyes at me and smirked... but this last time takes the cake. I went in for help with washing and patching a FF down jacket after watching the video posted on the FF website. Came home with the in store recommended down soap and water repellent spray to treat the coat. The spray bottle however said it was for Gore Tex material. When I called to clarify I literally got 3 different answers after being put on hold 2x. I was told not to use the spray and that he didnt know thats what I was using it for when he recommended it ( literally had the down jacket in my hands talking to him in the store about using the spray on the jacket) then after being put on hold again I was told I could use it, but only lightly, then after a 3rd hold I was told they dont recommend using any water repellent spray on their down products even though it is called out in their instructional video and sold at the store. I want to bad to love this local company but I give up! FF you need to train your staff better, its not enough to have great products.

Shop Local is great, but its not enough.Thankfully, with Feathered Friends you get to shop local, while simultaneously getting the best. Locally made, responsibly source materials, and some of the finest craftsmanship Ive ever seen in a jacket.I have jackets from dozens of competitors, and the FF jackets I own will be my last. Theyre that good.

They allow only 15 minutes to look around unless you are actively trying something on. How about you just keep your store closed entirely then if you are so worried about people coming in. Rude pretentious staff. They didn’t say one word to me while I was in there buying their brand down jacket at 400 dollars. I tried to support local but between the awful staff and 15 minutes to be allowed in their precious store I regret my purchase.

I have down pants, jacket and sleeping bag from feathered friends and it is by far the best products on the market hands down. My husband still have his jacket from 15 years ago and uses its all the time in rough conditions. Do yourself a favor and buy a product that will last a life time .

Although I enjoy the vest and socks I ordered and can appreciate tbe craftsmanship - I do need to say that you should be SURE of your sizing and wants before ordering.Because FF doesnt provide a return shipping label, you have to cover return costs. Unfortunately, from northern Canada that means a lot...and I essentially paid $225 for zip, zilch, nada...just customs inbound and return fees. The refunded cost of the Helios down pants was $314 CAD (which btw you need to order much larger sizes than you typically do...or use it as motivation for losing weight, your choice).Anyway, I messed up I guess...but I hope FF can consider getting return shipping labels sent out to customers

I bougt some staff from here... they said that because of coronavirus, i can return just boots if something will be wrong... the boots wich they recomended was 3 seasons and good enough to climb Rainier i used them once on snow until Camp Muir... I wanted to return because I froze in them... and to buy another pear of boots, when I came to return tne boots, they said that I can return if they are in new, condition!!!! They didnt say me about that when I bought them! Not recomend! They don t have any policy of return, if theu said that I can return just boots, and I couldnt do that!

Feathered Friends has super high end down. Their UL Flicker sleeping bag has won recognition from Outdoor Gear Lab - a group that compares the best outdoor equipment. My buddy also bought one of their puffy jackets and loves it - hes planning to bring it to Aconcagua. The staff were super friendly and also very knowledgeable.

As I look back on my life before my Feathered Friends Bavarian Light 700 Queen Down Comforter joined my voyage, it’s hard to say that I was truly living. In retrospect, those were dark and lonely nights. They were cold nights. I had been missing a warmth in my life, the remedy to which had up until one moment eluded me.That moment was when I brought the Bavarian light home, and our relationship began. With it I have found a fulmillment that no other bedding has brought into my life. My slumber is filled with restful joy and dreams of bright futures. My body is warm cause of all the goose feathers and stuff. — out

The girl who helped me was so nice. I’ve always heard about FF, so when I got the chance to visit Seattle it was my first stop. She let me try on every badass Rock and Ice parka size I wanted and went in back to get me their poofiest sleeping bag rated for -60. I couldn’t afford anything but it was like being a kid in a candy store.

Without a doubt one of the top Outdoor Clothing manufacturers and distributors in the world. If you need a sleeping bag for life and for extreme conditions as well as other types of outdoor mountaineering equipment you cant find anywhere else this is the place to come to. Only downfall is getting there and parking due to the massive amounts of construction going on all around this location.

Bought my first FF bag in 1986 and Im still using it (mostly as a winter comforter - the zipper finally died). The 1991 bag is also still in use; both have way more than 1,000 nights of backcountry use on them. The 2010 bag has about 150 nights now and still has like-new loft. They use the best down available, is why. Also, this is the only sleeping bag company Ive ever found that has honest temperature ratings on their bags. If FF says a bag is good to zero degrees, they mean you can sleep naked in it at zero degrees. North Face, REI, or Big Agnes, for instance, expects you to wear every warm garment you have to be warm at the rated temperature. I also have their vest - 16 years old now and just starting to lose a little of its loft. Still super-warm.

Feathered Friends is perhaps my favorite climbing shops. They are located in Seattle next to REI. They and locally owned and manufacturing of down products are also local.I have several Feathered Friend sleeping bags. I dont own a Rolex but their bags are the Rolex of sleeping bags. First the quality of the down is better or best. They will also custom build a sleeping bag making them a little longer, warmer, wider, custom zipper, or what every you want. You will not find this at the huge consumer climbing/hiking shops. When I walk into the shop, I am in bliss with all kinds of climbing gear to purchase. There staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. I have had just one issue over the years with some climbing boots and have found that the are very responsive and professional in dealing with problems.Remember you can always purchase the typical backpack, boots, climbing gear at the typical store. Feathered Friends will have many products that you will treasure. I have purchased several down jackets and other specialty items. Each of my purchases I truly treasure. If I just need an ordinary item, I can go to an ordinary place. Also parking is easy. Park at REI for one hour free. They are across the street, kitty-corner, so that makes it super easy to get there. Also I found sale items at REI and they have matched the price to stay competitive for customers. This is my first review. If I only wrote one review this is it. I cant think of another climbing shop I would like to visit other than Feathered Friends!

Selection is whats typically brought me here, and now service is, too.I bought a pair of mountaineering boots here earlier this year and was disappointed when the rand wore through after less than a full season. I took them back to Feathered Friends, and they gave me a new pair. Theyll deal with the manufacturer while I keep climbing - much appreciated.Theyre also one of the few stores around that carries technical down parkas and sweaters year round. When I needed a down parka with a hood for a Rainier trip, all a certain large retailer had was a bulky Columbia model that would fill a pack on its own. Feathered Friends came through with their Helios puffy - that thing is lightweight, crazy warm and packs up to a tiny size.I had a similar experience with mixed terrain boots - the same unnamed large retailer had a few select models, but Feathered Friends had Salewa, Mammut, Scarpa and LaSportiva to choose from.
