A person wrote a one star review for the best wood store in WA based simply on the gripe that their store hours did not fit his life hours. This is an unfair review from a life disappointed person. Ignore him completely.

A great place to find wood for your projects.Hardwood sold by the board foot, and sheet goods sold by the piece.Beautiful raw edge slabs if you have that inclination.On my visit today they had some off cuts for a discounted price by the door for ~45% off the BF price on walnut. YMMV. I figure I can learn on hardwood this way without getting too expensive.Yes they have Russian Birch.It is much cheaper than the paltry selection of hardwoods available at the chain stores.

Gotta love a business that requires you to use a vacation day in order to give them your business.“Please shop local...but only between 9 and 4, and NOT on the weekends”Apparently the woodworkers they cater to are either unemployed, or so bad at their jobs that they have time to casually shop for materials in the middle of the day. I guess it’s a good litmus test for anyone who is hiring a woodworker - if they shop here, you know you’re getting overcharged for labor!The selection looks great...it’s a shame I’ll never have the chance to be a customer.

I have been here a handful of times now for multiple wood sourcing needs. I am a complete novice at anything construction or building related. The people here are wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to help and really ensure a great buying experience. Highly recommend this place. Christopher is especially awesome!

They have the largest variety of lumber and plywood in the area, at least out of everywhere I have been. The staff are helpful at finding what you need. They can saw up to lengths and dimensions you need after purchase.

I think I’ve been to every lumber store in king county and crosscut in my opinion has the best staff and lumber selection both by variety and quality of grain. The best pieces of lumber I’ve over found have all been at crosscut. I highly recommend it.

This is NOT Home Depot, not that I have anything against Home Depot. This is a great store for woodworkers, they have everything from live edge slabs to exotic 16 quarter hardwoods!

Fantastic selection of exotic wood boards for building or crafting.Bird eye maple, zebra wood, canary wood, Honduran mahogany and yellow heart just scratch the surface of what there is to offer. Most selections in 8 to 10 form, but they can cut off anything as long as 6 remains. Some limited hardware available as well.Very helpful staff.

The best hardwood store Ive found in the area. They have everything you could imagine. In addition to hardwood, they have a great selection of high end plywood.

Buyer beware if you are having material delivered. They dropped off the wrong material and wouldnt pick it back up. We had to drive there and take care of ourselves. They offered no discount or apology. They just said, Well our delivery service is complementary...I would rather pay for delivery and have them get it right than use a free service that doesnt work. Wont be back.

They dont call it the woodworkers candy store for nuthin. Always amazed by the selection here, I have to say today it was the attentive and courteous employees that impressed me most. That and the fact that in the end it cost half of what it would at home depot but twice the quality.

Called Saturday morning and sales guy said they had a HUGE selection of 4/4 White Riffed Oak 6.5” and wider X 8-12’ long boards to pick from. When I arrived there wasn’t a single stick of WR Oak, or quartered for that matter. I asked the sales guy where all the Oak is and his response was the computer shows 500 bf. the yard boy looked in the back amongst the units of lumber but couldn’t find any, that or he didn’t feel like moving units around to accommodate his customer. I missed out on 3 hours of work driving from Tacoma, because a sales guy didn’t put me on hold for 15 sec to verify the boards he had in inventory. I should have waited for AWI to open I will know for next time.

Really good selection of cherry, their walnut is all steamed, with alot of warp, twist, and sap unless you get into the 12/4-16/4 stock. Overall good store with lots of exotics and some nice looking slabs

Your project results are much better starting with quality materials that are priced almost the same as the misshapen stock found at big box stores. A vastly larger selection is available, too. Great Value.

Like their website says, its the woodworkers candy store! They have such a huge selection of hardwood, both domestic and exotic (and super exotic and rare), its hard to imagine not being able to find what your looking for. They sell both rough and surface planed lumber, flat sawn, quarter, rift etc. They also offer milling services such as planing and jointing one edge. My only complaint is that if you dont want to buy an entire board you CAN get an off cut but they want to have 6 remaining on the board after your piece has been cut and the boards are usually only about 10 so if you dont want to buy the entire board it seems the biggest piece you can have cut is about 4. And it would be nice if they were in like Renton or tukwila instead of in Seattle but definitely worth the drive!
