Great service! Recently moved nearby and its very convenient to have a small hardware store. Weve already come several times. Employees there seem very knowledgeable too!
Anne was truly amazing. She went far beyond customer service, gave freely of her time and expertise, and saved my bacon. She problem solved with me and actually repaired my problem so I could get my car to my mechanic. She wouldnt take any extra compensation and said doing this kind of work made her happy. If I could give 6 stars, I would!
Very helpful staff. Good variety and selection of inventory. Not Hardwicks, what is? But easily the next best thing
Great selection and prices (they consistently have what our family needs), super kind staff, and dog friendly 😍
The store manager and store associate Ann are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met. And the store is so nice and well stocked. Love my experience there!
Great prices for DIY projects and friendly owners. This place has everything you need for home projects.
Employees were courteous and helpful in getting what I needed. Look forward to going back again.
Decent fastener selection, parking is easy ish, good local hardware store
Staff is super helpful and friendly, so thankful to have a locally owned hardware store in our neighborhood.
Perfect neighborhood hardware and more. If you are looking for IKEA parts, they have them!
Perfect neighborhood hardware store. Helpful staff, well organized, large selection. If they dont have what you need, theyll order it for you!
Amazing local hardwear store. Spend your time and money here instead of somewhere like ACE or Home Depot! Came in with a little project and no woodworking experience, and a staff member took quick interest in the project and literally spent an hour working with me 1-1 in the shop area to get it done and pick out all the right parts with me. Was extremely thankful for his time and definitely will be coming back when I need help with projects! P.S. they appreciate it if you pay in cash here for small purchases to avoid racking up card fees.
Great local hardware store with two locations. I always try to support these guys when I can. Great selection of hard to find fasteners and hardware. Today I needed a small 5 watt led bulb for.my daughters desk lamp. They had what i needed and I was in and out quick.
Friendly staff and they had the part I needed. A GREAT experience.
Ayyyeee if you want a local place where you do not even have to ask for help then this is the place...they dont weird follow you but if they see your lost in your search they offer assistance
Awesome hardware store with a great selection of high quality fasteners that you cant find at the big box hardware stores. A great resource for those random tools or hardware that you need in a pinch, especially if you live in the neighborhood.
Great Guys ! Always helpful ! Thanks so much for everything - Rich Regan
Stoneway Hardware is great! Good selection and knowledgeable staff.
I needed a rotohammer to drill into some concrete and didnt wanna buy one. rented it from Stoneway for super cheap. Friendly customer service, helpful people. On one of my visits, I asked them if they could cut a key to my Honda Scooter using the blank I brought in (VERY specific kind of key) and they did without a problem. Thanks!
Good selection of what i need so i dont always have toi go to the box store.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff with a good selection of hardware in the neighborhood. Support your local shop!
Best selection and super helpful staff
Love it! Great friendly and very helpful staff. They carry all sorts of hardware, other household items and garden products. Would totally recommend Stoneway Hardware!
A good counterpoint to the selection at Dunn. Stoneway tends to have the plumbing and hardware things that Dunn doesnt. I find the selection of electrical supplies to be lacking compared to the plumbing so I typically have to hit the big box stores for that. I do wish they would restock the hardware more frequently. I often find that they are out of the one thing I came there for...
Great place - helpful štafle - they always have what I am looking for!
The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. Managed to get my sink aerator back in one piece and working again! :)
I love Stoneway. They have helpful staff at both locations, but the service here is particularly outstanding! Great inventory and informed staff. Havent gone to a mega store since moving near Stoneway, I just wish I knew about them sooner.
I haven’t seen him in a while, but I have been going to Stoneway Hardware Wallingford specifically because of their most knowledgeable and helpful employee, Nick G. Nick seemed to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the widest array of DIY anything, and he was always enthusiastic in helping me figure out new and effective ways of completing any project I needed help with. Starting with the super helpful, incredibly knowledgeable and delightful staff like Nick and moving all the way through to the fasteners, plumbing, fiberglass, and all things you could ever need for most any project, Stoneway Hardware Wallingford is hands down the best hardware store in Seattle.
I must admit, I struggle in my commitment to support the small, independent stores as well as I should. I have to really force myself to not hit up the internet (read: Amazon) for the best price and convenience. Stoneway Hardware is the reason to commit! They want to help, they take their time, and they have the knowledge! I needed a couple of things and was directed exactly to the location. After paying I asked a question about a different project, the kind woman have me great information, then walked me back to discuss options in detail, checked on availability of a product, and after a good 10 minutes after my initial transaction, REMEMBERED MY NAME from my card! That is extinct in customer service today. Do you pay more? Yes. But if thats what is needed to support business like Stoneway Hardware, its so very worth it!
Stoneway Hardware looks and feels like a very old store. The inside has character (translation it’s old) and you can tell if these walls could talk, they would have stories to tell. Not all of the stories would be good ones, I’m sure, but they would indeed be interesting. Can you find what you need here? Most of the time, but not always. Usually, it’s self service style of shopping, but there are two exceptions to this, namely employees Nick and Ann.I never shop a hardware or home type store (Ace, Lowe’s or Home Depot) for the normal reasons. Why? I’m one of those crafter type people, you know, the Adam Savage or Simone Giertz type builders who use hardware items for making crazy sculptures or things for my workplace. I built The World’s Largest Rubber Chicken and a Tiny Gnome Door from a lot of supplies from the Wallingford Stoneway location. Now, when you’re a builder like me, you usually run into the home store employee who either doesn’t get the creative mind or in the worst cases will “mansplain” to you, completely missing the point of your project. Nick, never did either of those things with me. He went above and beyond with him customer service, one of the things that made shopping at this store such a pleasure. If I rated Nick’s customer service and creative, out of the box problem solving, it would be 10 out of 10 stars in each department. Ann too, she always has a smile and a warm welcome for me and those two made shopping there feel like a small town where everybody knows your name. Plus, a lot of times, because there’s a global pandemic, I’ve noticed that not everyone at hardware stores wears a mask or practices social distancing. Nick and Ann always did and as a person with asthma myself, I need to feel safe while shopping at a store like this. I wish others would carry the same attention to safety as them. So, with Tweedy & Pop Ace Hardware and Stoneway Hardware so close to each other, folks have a choice where to get their hardware supplies. For me, since both stores carry the same products, the main thing is that I need to feel welcome, not condescended to safe during this deadly virus times. That’s the only reason I would pick one store over the other. So thank you to Nick and Ann for doing those things for me. I work with the public too and I understand how important it is to treat safety with the attention customers need right now.
Its like walking back through time to the 40s or 30s. Personal service is alive and well in this store. Try stopping here when you have any hardware needs.
One of very few remaining real hardware stores around
I needed a new and very specific kind of doorknob for an unusual latch, and the staff immediately knew the answer and even opened up a product package to make sure it would work for my situation. And then they keyed 2 extra keys, free of charge. And recommended the best chocolate bar from their selection. Its a good store.
Fastenerds with fasteners! The best hardware store youll find.
Always very helpful employees attn to details.very knowledgeable.great service
The people are very helpful and the supplies they have almost always solve my problems
Very helpful and friendly
If you need it, they have it! Friendly and knowledgeable employees will assist you if needed! Location is extremely convenient and theres parking available both on the street and in their lot.
It was easy to find the light bulbs that I was looking for without help. They also had a nice Valpak coupon for $2 off a $10 purchase. However, they only had two GU24 warm white LED 60w-equivalent bulbs in stock.
Great to have a nice hardware store so accessible. Plastic shields are up and everybody was masked when I went in.
Great local place that has everything.
Excellent as always
Super knowledgeable and helpful staff, great selection of items for a family owned hardware store.
Great inventory of hardware/tools that spans the range of a wide variety of DIY needs. Super helpful and genial staff with a friendly neighborhood feel
So so friendly and helpful. I just come here to browse sometimes because its such a neat shop.
Very knowledgeable and always helpful. They know their inventory!
Lots of odds and ends. Didnt have what I was looking for but was impressed with everything they did have
New in town and this will definitely be my new hardware store! Really friendly staff and awesome selection. Definitely recommend.
This is real hardware store. Great selection, and helpful folks that seem to know the name of most return costumers. We are luck to have them. Dont go to a big box store when you can go here.
There are many bolts here. A broader metric selection wouldnt be a bad thing, but they had the JIS fasteners I was after!
Today was the first time I went to Stoneway Hardware. It is a massive facility with most hardware needs. It reminds me of the type of hardware facilities we have back home. If youre looking for anything in the North Seattle area, which relates to tools. Check out Stoneway Hardware. They are kind people.
Staff helped me get gravel for a project. Have gone for several projects related to landscaping and find fair prices with a well stocked inventory of tools and materials
A great little neighborhood hardware store
My best friend randy works here. Stop in and tell him hi. Great neighborhood hardware store. Professional advice and pleasingly low prices.
Convenient, most everything you might need for home repair. Prices are higher but not unreasonable. Staff will help when asked.
They have, like, EVERYTHING, and its easy to find AND if you cant find it the staff will. Also PARKING!
Just go. Anything you could think of that is remotely related to hardware or gardening, just go. I’d never go anywhere else unless I checked them. The staff was so helpful and price was really fair. This is why we need local business.
When I need something specific, or the job deserves high quality parts or materials, Stoneway Hardware is my go-to place. The staff is friendly, casual & knows their stuff. Geared more to a professional/handyman/Dad, clientele, they arent going to hold your hand & teach you DIY 101, but Ive never encountered an eye roll & I have asked many bone headed questions over the years. Stoneway is the place to go for quality & harder to find, parts. They have a second location in Ballard.
I will never shop anywhere elsePlease NEVER close.
If you need fasteners or advice from a knowledgeable clerk, this place is great.
Great community hardware store for Wallingford. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Good selection of tools and supplies for home repairs.
Great local hardware store.
Surprisingly they have everything I could imagine a hardware store should have
These guys are great! Super helpful
Great neighborhood hardware store. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Much prefer to come here than Home Depot.
Very helpful staff. Prices still very good.
Need help finding a specific screw and they went and helped me find the exact thing I needed. Way better than the big box stores
I called six times just to make sure they have a product in stock before going to their store but I was not answered and hung up almost every time. The last call is even worst because they actually pick up the phone but suggested I shouldnt even come down to give them my business. Maybe they dont like customers.
Had exactly what I needed for my projects
Great place. Glad theyre hanging in there
A little bit of everything. I was looking for a replacement water hose and wanted to go to a local store rather than a box store. Stoneway fits the bill. Interestingly no one approached me to ask if I needed help, not what Im accustomed to with small retailers. Otherwise recommended.
Nice neighborhood hardware store. Store staff where very helpful in helping me find what I needed but the young man at the cash register was a bit ... stand offish, didnt smile or anything, just took my payment. Would have given them 4 or 5 star.
Smaller than a big box store like Home Depot, but still has a wide selection of products. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
Old fashioned hardware store that is hard to beat for service and selection.
Handy location, reasonable selection, but pricey for some items (quite reasonable for quality paint though!) Plus l prefer buying local with friendly service over big box with indifferent service. Still this is my hardware store of choice. Id rather spend a couple extra dollars to a local business than to a gas station to replace the gas to get to a big box!
Plenty of what your looking for
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Staff is very helpful. Selection is good for an urban hardware store. Prices are reasonable. 100x better experience than going to H*m* D*p*t Or L*w*’s.
They have all sorts of things I need, or didnt know I needed. Its well stocked, well organized, and the people are REALLY helpful, unlike some of the chain stores. Nice to have a neighborhood hardware store.
Awesome hardware store! I was just helping a friend with a renovation in this area, and we frequented Stoneway Hardware nearly every day. Great supply, and run by locals. Very helpful in there!
Outstanding service, plentiful but not overwhelming selection, clean and fair pricing. I really appreciate that they offer free Flourescent tube recycling (limit 10 per day). Best if all, they have humans all around to help you!
Dont go to the big box storem Head to SH where staff always has time to help you. Great experience!
Great hardware store. My goto store when trying to stay out of the depot.
A great locally owned little hardware store with most everything you need, including things you didnt know you needed. Its staffed with creative thinkers willing to help guide you through your project.
Amazing hardware store that is much larger than it appears from the street. The people are extremely helpful and pleasant!
Very good place to go
Called with a few questions and was answered by a very rude customer service representative. Very unprofessional.
Definitely my favorite hardware store.
Friendly staff and a great selection of tools. We came here multiple times for paint / painting tools, drill, and more. Shop local!
Always helpful, nearly always have what we need.
Stoneway Hardware is helpful no-nonsense neighborhood hardware shop. Large selection offers most things you need from Home Depot/Lowes.Going to Stoneway Hardware and not the big box stores for your hardware needs. The markup is minimal if that. More ala-cart hardware than big box. Higher quality tools and hardware than big box. Convenient for those in the Wallingford/Fremont/Ballard area.
A great place for spare parts and other hardware. The employees are friendly and helpful, much better than the big box store employees. Go for the parts, stay for the people.
Enjoyable local hardware store that has equally friendly help and great with children. I find what I am looking for almost every time and their music choice just adds to the flavor.
This store has everything. If you can find a hardware item this store does not carry I would be surprised.
This is now the goto for the 98105 now that weve lost our gem.To be fair, Ive frequented both over the years. Its sad to imagine, but heres wishing the increased biz will keep them around.
Cute homegrown place that’s been here for decades. For the average home fixed, they have a lot and is the only hardware store in the immediate area.
