This is a fantastic space that blends an art gallery feel with the wonderful offerings of Pikes Place shop. They truly are supporting the idea of inspired natives, not native inspired. Great selection of artwork, textiles, apparel, writing goods, jewelry, and more. Every piece has a story, so really take the time to listen in this space. A huge THANK YOU to the store associate that helped me to select a really special wedding gift that honored the couple and their Pacific Northwest journey. I also picked up a few pins for gifts and for myself! I had been waiting months and months to visit this physical shop and had only admired from their beautiful social media accounts. So thrilled I was able to pop in and really explore this incredible conceptual space!
Eighth Generation is full of beautiful, high-quality products that are vibrant and enduring. I adore my earrings and I L-O-V-E my blankets. Theres definitely another blanket in my future. The plethora of colors and geometric designs are eye-catching and gorgeous. I get so many compliments on the things I have purchased and knowing that I am giving back to the Snoqualmie Tribe, and other Native artisans, makes me proud to support Eighth Generation and the artists they feature. I wish this place every success!
I ordered a necklace and earrings. I didnt have to wait any time at all before they were delivered, and they are GORGEOUS. It was a wonderful experience, and I will continue ordering from them.
High quality items perfect for gifting. We prefer to gift items that support local communities. You cant get more local than this shop
Just received my cedar boughs earrings - I cannot say enough good things about these. They are cast from a real cedar bough locally by artist Louie Gong, which I truly value as a connection to place, identity, and history. They are elegant and at the same time rooted in nature. I have never seen earrings that are more meaningful for me personally and am forever grateful to have found them. Please consider purchasing gifts for your loved ones from Eighth Generation - we are all guests here on Turtle Island and should take every opportunity to center Inspired Natives.
An amazing store. Everything is of the highest quality. Everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They also have a fantastic online store as well. Highest recommendations.
I have been buying several types of blankets and have done so for years. They are always fabulous and exceed expectations. They make fantastic gifts and I always enjoy giving them to others. The quality is consistently extraordinary and the designs are spectacular.
I was on my way to Pike Place when I happened upon Eighth Generation. My partner knew a lot of the products they sold so we went in. It was a great experience. The goods are designed and produced by Native American artists around the country and it showcases wonderful creativity and dedication to craft. We were lucky enough to talk to the owner and artist, Louie Gong and he was affable and down-to-earth. One of his staff, Stephanie, was great to talk to as well. I was struck by the beautiful designs on the t-shirts, socks, jewelry, towels, phone cases, and blankets. My partner and I were so enamored with their goods we bought one of their hummingbird blankets. We are really happy with the blanket and are hoping to buy more products from them in the future.
Just received my new blanket! It’s beautiful and super soft! Heard about this company from patrickisanavajo YouTube channel and wanted to show my support to the natives. I will order more products from them in the future.
I have not been able to visit the store yet (maybe in 2021!), but have had wonderful experiences ordering from Eighth Generations website. I ordered Christmas gifts for myself 😁 and for my whole family from them. Jewelry, blankets, socks--all top quality and beautiful art. Shipping is quick and packaging is perfect for giving as gifts. Thank you!
The mission of this company is excellent. They provide beautiful, authentic products made by indigenous artists. I was so thrilled to be able to support the artists and was VERY impressed by the quality of the jewelry I received! The customer service was excellent too! I highly recommend Eighth Generation and cant wait to give more of their products as gifts (and purchase some for myself too)!!!
Amazing art, people & products!
Great products, but visiting the store gets you treated like a shoplifter and they cant meet their own stated shipping and processing guidelines. If you can dip in, buy something, and leave before they insult you, youll snag something awesome, but be prepared for combative and insulting staff -- even by Seattle standards, theyre some of the worst in Pike Market.Replacing a damaged blanket will almost certainly be the last time we shop here -- well go directly to the artists from now on. Online customer service seems incapable of parsing the issue. Incoming chargeback.
I love the store Very nice and very good service
I have ordered a few different blankets from Eight Generation and am very happy with both the quality and the customer service! The products are shipped almost immediately, updates are sent along the way, and customer service is very quick in responding to any issues. They also arrive nicely packaged in a box and with information about the artist. Would be a great house warming gift.
This is the only indigenous art store in Seattle but its owned and operated by indigenous people, with art made exclusively by indigenous people. The first nations of North America are 21st century people, and this store has 21st century art by 21st century native artists.
I placed an online order with Eighth Gen for a blanket Id been eyeing for a while. I was drawn to this company because it supports Inspired Natives, and it isnt Native Inspired, keeping true to supporting true indigenous art in all its forms.I had a problem with my package delivery and Dustin, from their customer support service, came through for me. I was so thankful to receive genuine customer service, and be treated so well. 100% will purchase from them again, and would recommend to anyone looking for beautiful craftsmanship.
Ordered a blanket online for my parents for the holidays. Eighth Generation was very responsive and helped me whenever I had concerns around delivery times / not getting delivery notification emails (turned out I mistyped my email in checkout, they fixed it). Customer service is A+, and my parents love it!
I received my Faith towel, and it is wonderful.I am so impressed with the speedy turnaround time - and the companys fabulous mission statement! I read a post on fb on Indigenous Peoples Day that suggested buying from a native owned retailer to celebrate the day. I had been looking at the Eighth Generation beach towels for so long, but I couldnt justify spending that money on something that is really a luxury for me. It meant a lot to make the purchase on that day.
Amazing business and amazing people! Im so happy to have them here in Seattle. They do really cool social justice projects and support native artists. It is so important to support native artists instead of buying things that are culturally appropriated. You dont have to worry about that at all when you shop at Eighth Generation.I love that they have a mix of traditional works as well as more modern stuff.
Eight generation has exceptional service and the quality of their products are top notch. They care about the products they carry, the people who create them, and the people who buy them. Don’t hesitate to purchase something from them.
Have only ordered from them online even though I live near Seattle and their blankets are beautiful and very good quality and both times I’ve ordered I was super impressed with how quickly they processed and shipped and even the shipping box was beautiful! I also love that they provide a card about the artist who designed each piece.
Eighth Generation is my favorite space to shop in Seattle! Every product I have from them is of the highest quality and every time I come in the service is wonderful. When friends visit me from out of town I always bring them here on my tour of Seattle. My coworkers often ask about the beautiful enamel pin I wear on my lanyard while teaching. My favorite part about this business is the opportunity to support Native artists rather than art that has been appropriated. I feel confident that every sale will directly benefit Indigenous business people rather than others profiting off of Native arts. Cant recommend this shop enough!!
Id been following Eighth Generation for awhile before I moved to Seattle and went to their store. It was, and I say this with no hyperbole, stunning. I spent so long walking around and touching everything because the quality of the work and materials was just so delicious, and then I started sending everyone I know there to experience it themselves. Ive stopped in 5 or 6 times to buy gifts or just look at things, and everyone behind the counter is always so friendly and welcoming. Support this business!
Beautiful brick & mortar location located in the Pike Place Market with incredibly helpful & kind staff! They included a cool Inspired Natives, Not Native Inspired sticker in with my purchase of a t-shirt and socks. I always look forward to their new designs and I covet the wool blankets (I hope to purchase someday!). A go-to for unique gifts.
Such beautiful, high quality products! Super stoked on the blanket I ordered!
Ordered Thunderbird Arrives wool blanket online. Delivery was quick and the blanket is made of a thick, high-quality wool thats warm but not itchy. Design is very striking and Ive gotten many compliments on it. Customer service was good too; I asked a few questions before ordering. Would replace all my throw blankets with these if I had the space/money.
Love the tee we ordered and the socks are beautiful.
By far my favorite Seattle store. I can always find a unique and thoughtful gift there. I also love to support Indigenous artists and Indigenous owned businesses. Win/win!
This is absolutely one of my favorite shops at the Market. Every single item for sale is crafted with story interwoven beautifully into every inch and is worth every penny. After all, not only will you be walking out with a gorgeous piece but youll be supporting First Nations artists.
Eighth Generation is an incredible store. I highly recommend visiting for beautiful, thoughtful, and locally designed gifts. The blankets are great gifts for any occasion. We got one for our wedding, and we cherish it.
Great friendly staff and great gifts. I love that Eight Generation buys artwork and patterns that are actually made by people who are native american. The Salish blanket is my favorite and Ive giving it to many friends and clients. Its a blanket that is modern and truly northwest in style.
My favorite place to visit at Pike Place Market. There are so many amazing Native artists displayed in this store. I cant wait to go back.
Im from the Salish Seas area born in Seattle. Currently living in Florida. I purchased a Scarf from 8th Gen. and it got lost on the piny expess😂after finding out it didnt make it to destination. I emailed and expessed my concerns. 8th ended working with me and Completing order by sending another. I Recomend and Will Continue Supporting 8th Gen
Had a great experience shopping at the Pike Place Market Eight Generation store. Opportunity to admire a nice selection of products but also learn about different tribal nations and their culture.
Love the vibe of service given, quality of the products. Amazing place!!
Was a little tricky to find but its been awhile since Ive visited the Market. I would definitely visit again to support my culture. Would of been a 5-star but on the day of the visit there was only 1 employee on the phone helping a customer. I waited for 20 minutes for a very small purchase which could of potentially been larger!
Beautiful shop full of wonderful art. It took me a while to choose from all the great options, but I eventually decided on a print and a T-shirt. The woman working in the shop was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the artists and their art. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Seattle!
I got a phone casé designed by Michelle Lowden. Its exquisite
Roquin helped my husband and I and he was very friendly and knowledgable about the products. We love our products. Thanks for a great shopping experience during our first time in Seattle.
I always make sure I visit 8th generation while I am at Pikes place market. Nice inventory and great associate.
This store/ gallery is not just a great place to find unique items, it stands for something that speaks to everyone who cares about indigenous rights, history, and culture. Do your research about it, and if you get the chance to meet the owner- ask him about all the great work he has done!
Amazing products! Beautiful jewelry, blankets, cards, soap, and more. High quality and reasonably priced.
Friendly staff and amazing products - always worth a visit when Im in Seattle
Fantastic shop and a highlight of a visit to Pike Place Market. Theres a wide array of work by a number of Native artists and artisans and the shop takes care to promote each individually.
Love love the amazing quality and beautiful designs of everything at Eight Generation, the fact that it supports a Native American designer and 100% owned and run business sis such an amazing plus! Thank you, you guys rock!
True native work. Modern. The lady at the front desk was realy nice and helpful.
Bought a pair of orca earrings and a t-shirt that had a coastal designed Seattle Space Needle. Authentic Native art, love it!
Love this store! I have bought soaps and earrings and everyone is also so helpful and nice. The artwork is so beautiful, I am a huge fan.
Authentic modern Native American art. Great selection and friendly staff. Great philosophy behind the business.
Love the Two Spirit blanket! And so many of the beautiful Native designed wool blankets.
This is one of the only places anywhere that has Native Art that is designed by Native artists and has a Native owner. They’ve done something amazing with their store, a breath of fresh air and inspiration!
The wool Blanket of Knowledge is beautiful.

Beautiful 💖
The staff is very courteous and available to give all the explanations needed to contextualize the pieces on sale. The objects are very particular and thanks to the involvement of the Inspired Natives they reproduce some elements typical of the natives tradition. The designs of the blankets are very beautiful, both those of wool and cotton. Excellent as a souvenir of the city and / or as an original gift.
