This amazing little cafe plays host to the best hot chocolate Ive ever had. Hidden away in the heart of Pikes Place Market this absolute gem of a chocolatiers is an absolute must visit if youre anywhere in the area. I ordered the 12oz drinking chocolate with a vanilla roasted marshmallow as well as another drinking chocolate with a mole spiced marshmallow and a cocoa nib truffle. They roast the made in house marshmallows right in front of you and while slightly apprehensive at the thought of a mole marshmallow I was pleasantly surprised by how well it paired with the rich chocolate flavors of the hot cocoa. They also had a chai tea flavored marshmallow that I simply could not leave with out trying so I tried the chai smore and was not dissatisfied in the slightest. We got to speak with the owner Erin for a moment and she told us how she started her business.Overall the Indi chocolate cafe and store is an amazing part of Pike place with decadent chocolate treats, friendly helpful staff and even a good selection of chocolate related gifts to share with others, (or keep for yourself). I hope to return again soon to enjoy everything they have to offer.
We checked out with the owner, and she was so sweet. We had a nice little conversation while it was slow in the market, and she recommended great options for the booze infusion kit we got. The hot chocolate had the option for a chai spice added and it was FANTASTIC. I wish we weren’t on vacation so we could come here every week!
We had such a great experience here! The owner was so kind and personable and made us feel very welcome. Plus the chocolates and drinks were amazing!! The sipping chocolate was so rich and delicious and all the truffles were simply delightful. Also picked up some of the lotion and it feels amazing on my skin, not at all oily and it smells wonderful too! I would highly recommend stopping in here!
Their cookies and mochas are among the best Ive ever had, made all the better by their great mission/vision. Cannot recommend enough!
Returning from a beautiful misty morning tour of the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge during our stay-cation, we both wanted mochas. It was exactly as we had expected; a double shot of espresso added to frothy milk married perfectly with Indis superior dark chocolate to create an 8oz cup of heaven. Whether you are a local or visiting our beautiful city consider skipping the line at St@rbucks (roughly the same prices) and visit Indi. Support small, local, LGBTQ friendly, woman owned businesses.
For chocolate lovers, This place is perfect. The selections are award-winning. The range of flavors is marvelous
This is a cool and fun place to go visit while youre at Pike Place, especially if you love chocolate. Its all responsible/sustainable/buzzwordy chocolate they make in house. The coffee wasnt bad either. For our money, the brownie was good, but that chocolate cookie is where youll find Nirvana.Staff was super friendly as well
A very beautiful, warm and cozy chocolate place near the Seattle port. One of the best places in Seattle to visit on a nice evening. You can enjoy the chocolates inside and it is located side by side with Honest biscuits, which are worth a try too! The friendly staff will serve you nice hot coffee which will be one of the best coffees youll ever taste. Definitely buy one with some biscuits or chocolates and enjoy it outside while watching the sun set in the water.
Literally the best mocha drink I’ve ever had! So good!
Wow! Absolute best mocha latte I’ve ever had. The sipping chocolate was a velvety smooth and decadent treat.
The atmosphere is really spacious but it doesnt feel empty. Even as there are just a few people here, as most folks are in and out in minutes. There is just enough background noise from machines working to drown out any feeling that you are alone. The smells of chocolate, coffee, and food in the air, will pick up your soul and give it a warm hug. I ordered their signature coffee and it is a dark roast with a robust flavor profile. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.
My favorite fancy chocolate bars! I have friends around the country hooked on Peru and chocolate chai tea. Got Haiti today and it may be my new favorite (it’s vaguely minty?). Their mint lotion is also amazing. Great spot for drinks, sweets, and gifts!
A hidden gem in the new Market expansion! They make the chocolate on site and have a number of chocolate and chocolate by-product retail offerings. I had the mocha with a toastes marshmallow topping. It was the best mocha Ive ever had, not too sweet but full of chocolate flavor. I highly recommend stopping in.
Pros: lotions, especially the orange are phenomenal, we also got a sipping cocoa and mocha. Everything in their store is homemade, and owned by a local. This place is INCREDIBLE. From the classes and events, to the offerings, everything here is above and beyond. The place is clean, quick, and friendly. The owner is obviously takes pride in what she puts out and it shows in her product. The sipping chocolate, with homemade whipped cream, and a chai marshmallow is the most indulgent thing I have ever had. If you do nothing else in Pikes Place, come here, get this and watch the sound
Small place in Pike place market. Their drinking chocolate is great!
Highly Recommend! What an incredible chocolate shop. I was visiting from California, and my boss at an organic chocolate shop had told me about this gem of a place. The experience greatly exceeded my expectation. From the high-quality chocolate, and unique artistry of flavors, to the legendary customer service and welcome from the owner, I am a huge fan! Thank you for a magical experience, Indi Chocolates; keep being awesome! Ill be back for more next time I visit.
The best cookie ever...brown butter chocolate chip cookie. We came back for 6 more and will order more online.
This is like a mini chocolate factory below Pike place market (the new section on the north side) they make drinks and snacks or just sell chocolates and things. They also have classes and samples. Its a ton of fun and the drinks are very good! I fully recommend stopping by if you are in the market. A great place to try some different chocolate from around the world.
Friendly barista, their lavender latte was absolutely delicious!
I went to smell their amazing chocolate lotions but ended up purchasing a croissant and it was pretty huge and yummy! I had to finagle some butter but got it! Lol they warned it so perfectly and I couldnt even finish it all, it was around $4 a little pricey but good, clean place, and great views! I would totally come here again just to enjoy a croissant and coffee!
The way Indi Chocolate brings chocolate to life is mesmerizing. Whether the chocolate is going on your body via their handcrafted artisan soaps and lotions or inside your body via their delicious drinks and sipping chocolate, the feeling is absolute royalty.I don’t know if it’s my love for chocolate or their customer service, but each experience I have at Indi feels like a holiday.Thank you, Team Indi!!!
The store was beautiful, staff friendly, and chocolate insanely delicious!!! Already dreaming of going back for some of their incredible truffles 🤤
Didn’t try the chocolate but great customer service and lavender lemonade.
Ordered: Mint Cappuccino and the Vanilla Nib Smores.Simply the best cappuccino Ive had in quite sometime. Perfectly balanced between coffee and mint.Hard to mess up a smore, and no disappointment there other than maybe price:size ratio but an excellent combo nonetheless.
The people were nice, but the product not so much. The $5 drinking chocolate was lukewarm, contained bits of unmelted chocolate, and did not have a rich chocolate taste.——————————————————————Updating to 3 stars based on owners reply
A friend gifted the truffle making class as a holiday present. It was fun, instructive, the chocolate delicious and vegan. The best part of all was talking to the owners. Very interesting people, eager to answer all questions and genuinely interested in getting to know their clients. The cherry on top: best mocha coffee in Seattle!
The chip cookies should be illegal
My sister sent me a package of their chocolate Chai Tea and it was delicious. I hope to visit the store one day and try more of their products. Erin the owner was amazing very friendly person. I asked her a question over Instagram and even though how busy she was she still had the time to respond right away! 💜 this is definitely a spot you need to visit if you visit of live WA.
Amazing Chocolate!
Delicious Coffee!
Fresh chocolate, beverages, and a wide variety of yummy packaged treats. Then open air concept store is easily accessible via the side or front doors. A brand new building in part of the newly constructed area of the pedestrian area. Perfect for a quick shopping trip, quest to find that perfect gift for someone special, or to grab a treat to eat outside while enjoying the afternoon in beautiful Seattle! 😋
Erin Andrews(the owner) is passionate about her business and it shows! You can enjoy anything from body products to hand crafted drinks and desserts! Ended up spending a couple of hours learning about Seattles local business community and the personal sourcing of cacao from hand selected central and south american farmers to be a step above free trade! Show up and support this wonderful business you wont regret your experience!!❤
I bought some of the truffles and they were soo good.
Highest quality chocolate in Seattle. Everything is made in small batches, right in the store! Owners Erin and Peter are very knowledgeable in the chocolate making process and a staff member will be happy to show you the process as well as provide you a sample of chocolate as its being made! Their house-made spice rubs are a delicious addition to your cooking repertoire, and their cocoa butter lotions and lip balms make your skin feel dreamy! Stop by today! (Its located in the new part of the market, next to Honest Biscuits and Old Stove brewing)
I must admit this is a unique place, where the moment you enter you are pleasantly greeted by someone and are given a mini tour of the place and some tasting of their chocolate in process of making. Our expectations soared too high and we wanted to order their best sellers. We ordered the Mole Caramel Latte and Expresso Egg Cream. Both of of them had a bit too much spice and the egg cream could not be finished because of a repelling taste. We may have made a bad choice but both the drinks were off which was disappointing.I would assume the chocolates here might be good, but till the day I get to taste them, cant rate them high for what I had.
Amazing service, the coffee was some of the best Ive ever had, and the truffles were decedent.
Some of the best chocolate ive had in a very long time. A richness and moistness that allowed the chocolate to melt in my mouth. The taste and flavors are phenomenal, definitely made from scratch.
Finally was able to stop by the new location and it is beautiful! The coffee was perfectly delicious. It is really neat to see the chocolate factory and the passion that goes into the process of bean to chocolate bar. Their hot chocolate is seriously the best Ive ever had. Its a big hit for the kids. Indi is a Seattle gem!
These guys are serious good choc. I really enjoyed it and felt energized afterwards
Oh my goodness... I cannot say enough good things about Indi chocolate. Their story is incredible, I love that this is a small independently owned and run, bean to bar chocolate shop. Their chocolate is incredible, their spice rubs are delicious, and everyone goes above and beyond to make your experience as amazing as it can be. Definitely a must in Seattle.
Super good sipping hot chocolate. One of my favs in Seattle. And they were able to accommodate with oat milk! Very nice and friendly staff
Their single origin chocolate is to die for! As are their mole marshmallows. On the three occasions I visited, both my friend and I were impressed by both the chocolate and the wonderful and knowledgeable staff! Seriously, everyone working at that store was incredibly charming. If I were based in Seattle, you’d have won over a new regular for sure!
Not much of a cool chocolate experience/boring. Virtually no tasting options or truffles, nut or chews/caramels piece chocolates. The mocha brownie for $5.50 is so dry it crumbled to powder.
Best body care products out there. Amazing single origin dark chocolate with different flavor profiles to choose from. One stop shopping for unique and fun gifts people will ACTUALLY use.
I attended a Bean to Bar class. It was fantastic. I learned a lot and got to taste some very cool different chocolates. The teacher was knowledgeable and explained things very clearly. I highly recommend a class here.
It is pretentious, slightly snobby place, but not in a condescending way - the guys know their stuff, and are more than willing to share the knowledge. I love it!The espresso is really very good (single origin is almost on par with the best one that I found so far in La Marzocco bar), but the star of the show is the chocolate. Ive never thought that beans of different origin could really taste so different, and that one could taste the difference without reading the fancy brochure. The guy suggested that I should try them first and then look at the brochure and it was 100% on point. Yes, they are expensive, but do yourself a favour and give it a try - you wont regret it.
Way overpriced, normal coffee. Wanted extra money for whipped cream on my daughters $5 hot chocolate. My single origin latte turned out to be a blend. A blend not only from different regions, but different countries.
The chocolate is amazing, the environment is well thought out and the staff is very knowledgeable and ready to explain all kinds of chocolate fun facts to you. I highly recommend paying these folks a visit and am looking forward to popping by again soon.
Their chocolate is very, very good! Not too sweet and full of complex flavors. The staff is friendly and helpful.
We recently attended a private Truffle Making Class for my sisters Bachelorette Party. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! The class was very informative, and the level of activity/engagement was just perfect for a group of friends who are excited to talk, but also work with their hands and make something fun together. Highly recommend, and the chocolate was delicious!! Peter was excellent at leading the class and telling us the history of the company. And working with Becca to set up the private party itself was also a joy; she was wonderful to communicate with, and was so helpful in suggesting other fun additions to our day in the Market. Thank you, Indi Chocolate!
It was a great feeling walking into the store and the smell of chocolate was pleasant. Even the man who has knowledge about chocolate has caught my attention and learned about different chocolates. Which also makes me happy that a Father and Daughter were running the store. Very generous people.
A casual stop turned into a feast for the senses. Chocolate from around the world...amazing. For me, a bit of sipping chocolate that was rich, dark, and decadent.
Coffee was fine, but the two people working were somewhere between awkward and rude...ordering was unpleasant and I will probably go elsewhere for a $6 cup of coffee.
So helpful and friendly here, she was more than happy to explain the process of how they make their chocolate here. Yummy, unique chocolates here and I would definitely recommend stopping by!
Tasty chocolate, Amazing cup of coffee. Staff was friendly an professional. Very clean environment. You cant get much better!
5 stars for the super nice barista who watched me spill my drinking chocolate everywhere, cleaned it up while reassuring me that it was ok, and got me a new one. The drinking chocolate was well worth the stop, and the kind service made my day 😊
Took an out-of-state friend here for her first Seattle coffee. The staff members were friendly, but the barista took a long time to make her cup of coffee when there were only a few customers. At one point one of the employees walked up and told the barista that hed given away her (my friends) drink so he should look into it. He said he was making it. Coffee was good, but vibe and our non-existent phone service at their tables made us head up to Honest Biscuits in search of phone service and a better atmosphere.
Really tasty chocolate and helpful staff. The hot chocolate is great, and it looks like they have classes.
You can get juice from a cocoa pod here!!! How unique!
This is A nice place and friendly love thier coffee and Indi chocolate 💜😍
I had a hot chocolate with coconut milk (totally dairy free). It was soooooo good!
Great service. Recommend getting the hot chocolate.
Couldnt find it.Thanks for the reply next time Ill look harder :)
Didnt have a good experience, I ordered an espresso and my friend ordered a cortado. The cashier gave us two espressos, when I acknowledged our order was not right, the cashier looked at us and said sorry but did not fix our order.
Delicious drinking chocolate. Great for warming up on a cool day.
Great mocha and ginger cake!
Girl in the front was in an extraordinary rush all three times i tried to order with her, to the point she was dismissive and rude. Only tipped her because her colleague was making my drink. Molé latte is out of this world, recommend. The follow up chai was not even chai because it had no milk. It was more flavorless than green tea. It was so hot i could not hold my cup, i put three covers on it. When i went to sip it 5mins later the steam was so hot it burned my lip to numbness. I abandoned the drink. Damn $2 truffle i bought, the person handed to me just in my hand, so Im walking on the street with chocolate melting in my hand, and eventually fell to the ground.
Dont just stop at the chocolate... Teas, spices, lipgloss... it is all addicting and so well made.
I love it we share the same name I am also Indi. INDIS FOR LIFE
Do they want to make sales???? I think not. Lol I went in asking for a variety such as truffles, bars, or covered fruit. The young lady said well the only truffles we have are these here...lavender. And as far as bars.......these. I then asked about a display case...she said, No. We dont have anything like that. CARE TO ELABORATE DEAR? Lol I wasnt upset but she just really wasnt trying to suggest anything. I was out shopping and looking to take some nice chocolates home. Smh. So they dont have much variety and she didnt even try to tell me about anything else. But they do have pastries and salads on display lol so if you are looking for a CHOCOLATE shop....dont come here. Just go to a godiva. Not much to choose from as far as edible chocolates. And to think its like the only chocolate shop in Pikes market. #waste
Great coffee and ambiance👍
What a great place for sharing chocolate and enjoying the views.
Direct sourced chocolate,Family owned from bean to bar,Skin care products too!
Great place to stop with kids.
Best mocha Ive ever had
Did not expect the light, uniformly smooth latte and melted chocolate flakes at the bottom of the cup(or sludge, but that does not sound very appetizing). Yum!!!
Excellent coffee, chocolate to die for, and staff was friendly and personable.
Amazing chocolate made and sourced by the owner herself. She is very pleasant and knowledgeable to talk to as well.
There’s not chocolate... they have quiche. They have tea. They have seeds. They literally don’t have chocolate...
Great chocolate and service.
Fantastic chocolate, the owner taught me a lot about chocolate
Great hot chocolate
