Great location and comfy seating, and fun decor. The chocolate tea was disappointing but the cardamom mocha was excellent. Wish they were open for the post-theatre crowd.

The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable in chcoclate making. I had the sipping chocolate which was amazing. I also got some puppy snuggles since it is a dog friendly location.

Good selection of drinks, from their own cocoas to coffee to Italian Sodas. Plus their own chocolates (which we learned are maybe at their Pioneer Square location, where they have a tasting room! Wow! Will have to check that out for sure!). Great atmosphere and location. Space is big, light, large windows to bring in lots of natural light. Nice little outdoor seating area. Really helpful, kind, gracious service. I got the mint hot chocolate and it was really yummy!While we were there(Sunday late afternoon) they moved the sofas to a back room and brought in 4 large tables. We didnt know what was going on as this was our first visit. Turns out they have Game Night on Sundays! Thats pretty cool! Will have to try it sometime!

Very friendly barista, but was oddly alone on a Friday morning during prime coffee-time. The coffee was fine and the seating was plentiful.

You can find this place buzzing with all sorts of people throughout the day. This place gets really cozy while its raining outside. Dont get a cafe latte here, its really not good. It just tastes weird and seems like there is no any coffee in it. I usually just get the drip coffee.Good venue for a first date.

Love! The atmosphere is perfect to just relax or really get work done. The huge windows allows me to soak in the sun or enjoy the rain. The baristas are super friendly. Both the chocolate and the drinks are divine! They use oat milk as a dairy alternative, which goes so well with everything they make. Highly recommend!

I just started going here recently. The owner is really nice to talk to and the chocolate is sublime. I agree Emily is chill and awesome, too. The music is always relaxing without being a routine coffee house mix!

Intrigue is my favorite coffee shop in Seattle! Really high quality ingredients, incredibly kind staff, and a very fun place to hang out or get work done. Located in a quieter corner of Capitol Hill off of Madison. Definitely try their banana bread with cacoa nibs - I get it every time!

Fresh truffles with creative flavors infused in Belgian chocolate are the star here. The subtle flavors of the bean to cup drinking chocolate were my favorite! Will return to try other creative cacao drinks.

I like this place for what it offers and the quality it serves. I am excited that they brought this to Capitol Hill, but they could hire a few others who are more confident with manual machines.The co-owner who is there sometimes is very adept. But lately Ive been going in when one of their other employees is there. Im picky about my coffee, and I am hypersensitive to caffeine, so I tend to order split shots when the machine makes them double.Twice now shes been very uncertain about my order of a half decaf half calf shot (a split shot). Which of course makes me not want to order what I like there.I am in no way cutting her down, I just would like to see her grow and become more confident, and see them hire others who are more well versed in espresso.I do like this place. Maybe Ill stop in for some sipping chocolate again.

Hidden gem at the top of the hill! Amazing service - every employee takes the time to learn the names (and drinks!) of their customers to make you really feel at home. And not to mention amazing drinks, with Oatly and Hemp milk options! :)

A fantastic coffee and chocolate shop, with delicious drinking chocolate and a comfortable array of seating; only taking off a star for it being expensive compared to venues with similar dishes. But Id visit again!

Intrigue is usually great in every way! But there is one woman there whos exceptionally rude every time we see her, usually on the weekends. Shes shorter and larger with long brown hair. Sadly weve started going elsewhere because her attitude is so toxic. She always acts annoyed, doesnt look you in the eye, never smiles, and hates to do any little extra thing for customers, huffs and puffs at you. Last time, she made our drinks wrong twice and never even apologized or spoke, just shoved them at us like we were wasting her time. I think she may be a manager or just acts like one. So unlike every other experience with Intrigue baristas. Please dont work at the counter if you dont like your customers! We hope owners will address this issue!

Very nice space, excellent coffee and friendly service, but only giving it 3 stars because of the vapid pop music being played too loud. If they had no music at all Id definitely give it a 5 - it had a nice vibe in the brief interludes between songs.

Unique flavors, amazing staff! Great coffee. And its fun to see what new flavors they have this month.

Fall 2018 Update: Theres a really warm & wonderful lady named Emily there in the afternoon now and havent seen this rude person again!Sorry to say this, but theres a woman working there this summer who really doesnt seem to like people. If you have any questions, want to share a smile or have a few words of genuine conversation about the chocolate or anything else, she gets annoyed and just Ok, what do you want? Even when theres no one else in line. Cacao culture is usually welcoming and warm, but she really brings it down to a fast food atmosphere. I dont know if shes going through something personally or she just doesnt like curious girls studying there (Ive seen her brighten up with men). When the owner Carl is there hes super nice and really enjoys people. If I see her working, I head the other direction rather than deal with her impatience and critical attitude.

Super cute inside! Their mocas are delicious and they have a substitute for milk, oat leaf milk. Which doesnt have the same weird aftertaste as soy or almond milk.

Get one of the mochas. They use Intrigues flavored chocolate mixes and are delicious. Look in the fridge for some breakfast options more substantial than a pastry.

The barista was not knowledgeable, the coffee was bad, and I noticed when I got my receipt there was a 15% service charge....for a cup of coffee...TO GO. Since when is that acceptable and why is it not advertised at the counter?

No WIFI. The staff say it is due to poor weather, yet their internal WIFI (which they dont share with customers) seems to be active.
