Their showroom is impeccable, and their service top notch. Unfortunately, the owner Greg, is short-fused, temperamental, and kind of a prima donna. They correctly diagnosed my 09 Jag XKR headlight problem as needing a replacement ECM for the adaptive headlight system on Friday. On early Friday afternoon, I picked the car up I asked them to get the control module ordered-- as I have a road trip scheduled for a week off, and I need properly aimed headlights for the highway (the failed AFS control module causes the headlights to go cross-eyed in the fail-safe mode).Unfortunately, I am mechanically/electronically astute, well versed and pro-active in the repair of all my Jaguars, my airplane, and all my other mechanical devices-- and old enough to know that when given the opportunity to screw-up, people generally will. The owner (Greg) left the ordering of the module to his girl Ashley. It did not get ordered on Friday like I requested. On Monday morning, after checking all the Jaguar dealers on-line parts websites, I confirmed that (a) no dealer had the ECM in stock; (b) the part had to be ordered from the main Jaguar parts warehouse in Atlanta; and (c) the normal delivery time to the various dealers around the country was 3-4 days... putting me at a deficit to get the job done in time for my road trip. The parts dealer that both British Auto, and I use in Kalamazoo MI, told me that for an extra $16-- Jaguar would deliver it overnight to them, and then another day or two to ship to me from Michigan. The only catch was that their order needed to be placed by 3:30 EST (12:30 in Arizona), so I intervened in the process to make sure it happened-- lined everything up with the Jag parts dealer, and tried to contact Ashley-- the parts ordering girl at British Auto AZ. She was having a really busy morning, so when she finally called me back at 12:05-- responding to my detailed email to her-- she acknowledged she would get it handled. Great-- problem solved, and they would have the part in time for installation for my own road-trip agenda!NOT!I got a call shortly thereafter from the bombastic, ballistic, and unprofessional owner-- Greg-- his feathers totally ruffled-- dismissing (or should I say, firing me) as a client. He arrogantly stated he had already had taken in 5 cars that morning, and he didnt need me going behind his back, and yada yada yada. It was a one-sided conversation! End of our short-lived customer-service provider relationship. Really Greg-- youre going to yell at and insult your client? You think you have the right to yell at me... or any customer? Maybe you need some anger control classes! The upshot is that logistically-challenged Ashley predictably never got the part ordered-- which would have provided me with headlight capable auto by my road trip departure date, and I was able to get the part ordered myself for delivery to myself-- by their cut-off time to make the whole thing happen!Sorry to be on my own time-table Greg... not yours! You didnt handle this like a professional, nor a gentleman, nor do you need my business. Too bad... I know your work is high-caliber... but your attitude needs an adjustment!

My wife and I were in town picking up a car she had inherited from her father. I had planned on driving it back Sunday morning to Virginia. We had an issue with a window that wouldn’t close and nobody could help us and at best it would be a week waiting on a part. By some miracle I called this store and Gregg offered to help. Knowing we wouldn’t be repeat customers here, he still opened up for us on a Saturday morning and got us fixed up. In the world we live in now that just doesn’t happen. Highly recommend this place!!!!!

My wife and I were in town for her fathers funeral. I was set to drive one of her fathers cars back to Virginia and we couldn’t close one of the windows. Nobody could help us on short notice. By chance we called British automotive and reached Gregg. Explaining our situation and our need to get home he opened up for us on a Saturday morning and got us fixed up. He did this knowing we wouldn’t be repeat customers as we live on the east coast. I don’t think there is a high enough star rating for how we were treated today and our son got a valuable lesson in decency and kindness. Gregg you are a gentleman through and through.

Found these guys via a specialist in the UK. New the the whole Aston Martin thing, and as mine has had a full main dealer service history to this point, was a smite nervous about going independent. I have dealt with specialists in various makes of car in the past, some good, some not so much. From Tims help when I was looking for one to buy on wards, these guys have been great. Dropped V12Vs for a service, and from talking with Renee and her colleague (cant remember your name, sorry, told you I would forget lol) who were friendly and very helpful, to meeting Greg, who took me around the workshop, and had a LONG chat about whats possible in the future as upgrades, to the possibilities as to the causes of a couple of concerns I had on the car, he was both knowledgeable and very helpful. When they called to tell me the car was ready, but had a couple of issues, by the time I got there less than an hour later, they had prices for me, and an explanation of some of the issues I had mentioned to them with the car, and the advised me to wait until next service to address them, as they werent an immediate or problematic issue, great advice.By the time they called me the next day with timescales for the arrival of the parts needed for the repairs that I did need now, they had sourced parts cheaper and passed on the saving to me, and now the wait begins for AM t send the parts in a timely manner. All in all, a great service, and I genuinely do not believe the issues others claim to have had with these guys are in any way correct or genuine. Will update after repairs done, with a no doubt positive update.Very happy to have come across these guys, many thanks.

Got a Bamford Rose exhaust upgrade for my Aston Martin V8 Vantage. There were some shipping delays, but ultimately am happy with the results and they have been responsive to followups and other questions afterward. They know their niche well and take care in their work. I’m too far away from them for regular service, but overall it was worth the 6 hr drive from LA to drop off, even with other British independent specialists closer by.

Thank you Gregory, Robin, and the entire staff at British Automotive!!! I was considering the purchase of an Aston Martin last year and called Gregory to get his advice (keep in mind that I did not yet own a British vehicle). He returned my call; carefully explained the pros and cons of such a vehicle; spent much more time than I would ever expect in an effort to help with my decision; and even invited me to meet him at a local car show to introduce me to a few other A.M. owners!!! After some deliberation, I ended up purchasing a Bentley GT which I absolutely love. Last week I had an issue with the front air struts. I immediately called Robin and scheduled a time to drop-off the car. I couldnt be more pleased...they greeted me like family; had a car drive me home; had the parts first thing the following morning and the work completed later that afternoon; fixed a couple other small issues (free of charge); and THE TOTAL BILL WAS ABOUT 1/3rd OF THE DEALER COST!!! I could go on for an hour about the incredible service but will get to the point: If you have a British automobile that needs service...take it to Gregory and British Automotive Repair. Youll be glad you did. Thanks again Gregory and Robin!!!

Took Evoque Range Rover with complaint of car stalling when full of gas. Charged 996 dollars for fuel filter and fuel gasket and exhaust gasket over 3 different visits. They don’t work on weekends. One of the visits they gave us the car back without connecting the funnel to the fuel tank so 30 dollars of gas went all over the floor of the gas station when we tried to refuel it. Owner Greg was argumentative each time as problem of stalling with full tank was never fixed. Stalled again for us in 119 degree heat full of my Costco gas and trip purchases. Finally took to Land Rover North Scottsdale and service manager Robert said he suspected the fuel tank was dropped or cracked by British Automotive Repair and replaced entire fuel tank for 4000 dollars as engineers at Land Rover said this is NOT a common problem and suggested to replace entire fuel tank as they saw a crack and implicated British Automotive as we showed them what was done there initially . I gave Greg a chance to “ make it right” by at least reimbursing us the labor charge and he adamantly declined. Please do NOT EVER take your car to Greg. He said he couldn’t possibly reimburse everyone for every single complaint showing that he must have a bunch of other complaints as well! Deeply frustrated that this business still exists.

I have been a customer of British Automotive for about five years, ever since my 2011 Jaguar XJL went off its extended warranty at 70,000 miles. My car now has 133,000 miles on it and is running great.THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST. Owner Greg and senior mechanic Tim have done GREAT work, really know their cars, are totally honest and have SAVED ME A FORTUNE as their labor rates are far underneath dealer rates.By way of example, a major engine overhaul/cleaning at 90,000 miles that required an extensive amount of labor priced at $5,000 by Scottsdale Jaguar was done by British Automotive for 50% of the amount or $2,500.With the shop size and number of bays recently doubled, they are able of turning around cars much more quickly. YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG taking your British made car to British Automotive.

I had the absolute worst encounter with a manager. I parked in the back parking lot of the shared parking area when they were closing to pick up my new car. No signs or cones. A manager came into Tesla after 30 mins yelling and cussing about how I needed to move my car and threatening if I did not move my car it would be towed. I explained there were no signs, asked Tesla if it was okay to park where I did, and was told it was perfectly fine. Walking out to my car the manager came out with a pallet board tractor to move my car, while screaming and yelling at me. He continued to yell, scream, and cuss at my husband. I moved my car. He continued to scream and yell. Would never recommend this business. Who yells at a young woman for parking in a shared lot when their business is already closed and didn’t have a sign? Would not recommend doing business with a business that supports a man yelling, screaming, threatening, and cussing at women. Guess they are just scared Tesla will run them out of business.

I have a rare 1998 Bentley Brooklands R. After my first call I knew I had the right shop. Most people tell you immediately that they need to see the car (which is understandable). On the other hand Greg got on the phone with me never having met me and spent 20 minutes while I walked over to my car and tried some of the things he thought it could be. His goal was to get my car running without having to bring it in. It ended up in his shop after going through a series of checks. He knew exactly the problem over the phone and fixed it quickly. Refreshingly honest and fair. They desire for you to have the best service even if it comes at their expense. I brought my RR Dawn in for a tire and alignment issue and they took the time to talk with me about how this is a warrantee issue and not something I should pay for. They could have easily taken my money and I would have been none the wiser. In my estimation this means these are the good guys of the industry.I will always trust them for my non RR Warrantee work. British Automotive damaged the paint on my car and refuses to repair it. They also misdiagnosed my problems and charged me for repairs that did not resolve my issues. Mistakes happen and problems arise when you own a business. Its how you respond to those mistakes that defines what kind of business person you are.I brought in my beautiful, one owner 1972 Jaguar XJ6 for repairs. When I picked it up it was idling better but I immediately noticed the fuel and temp gauges were still not working (something I was told was repaired) I drove it back to where I work which is when I notice it also was misfiring and not running smoothly. When I got to my employers parking lot I cleaned the windows of the Jag. At this time I noticed a liquid that had clearly dripped on the roof of my car. I quickly wiped it off but after doing so I i noticed that the paint was soft where the liquid had touched it. I called Greg (the owner) to inform him about the paint damage, gauges and the misfiring. He asked me to send photos and then to bring the car in to have it looked at by his body shop. When I brought it in his was immediately hostile towards me and said I cannot expect the gauges to be perfect since it is an old car. After they inspected it Greg told me it was not caused by his shop and he was not going to repair it.He accused me of trying to scam him, called me a liar and insinuated that my car was in bad shape to begin with and that it was the cheapest car in his shop (it may not be the most valuable vehicle in his shop but its in beautiful shape for its age and has recently had $38,000 worth of restoration done to it)I asked if he could show footage from his security cameras to show that my car was never parked under another car on the lift. (Since he claims it wasnt) He said he didnt have time for that.He said his paint professional said it was a bad paint job and damaged from the sun.I know this is not the case since I literally saw the liquid on the paint and removed it myself. I showed it to my own body shop and didnt tell him the story but simply asked what he thought it was caused by and he said it clearly caused by something dripping on the paint. Not only am I angry that my paint was damaged but I am insulted that the owner accused me of lying.I have ran through every scenario in my head trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and to figure out how else this could have happened but there is simply no way it could have happened anywhere else since I drove straight from his shop to my employer which is where I noticed the liquid.I am sad to be writing this review as I was looking forward to having a relationship with British Automotive. I have two classic Jaguars and Gregs employees seemed knowledgeable when I first spoke with them. Its a shame that the shop is owned by someone who doesnt care for his customers.

Greg serviced my 2004 XJ8 for eight years. He kept it running like new for 200K miles. Absolutely exceptional in every way! Unlike the dealers where one gets a solution from a book, Greg looks for the very best solution at the most reasonable cost. I firs discovered British Automotive when I shopped an estimated $1100 repair that made no sense to me. Greg got the job done for $150 (all that was needed was a new spring rather than replacing the whole unit.) Thats the way is was for 8 years! He explains thoroughly what needs to be done and why and almost always recommends alternatives. As the shop expanded, Greg is understandably a bit less available, personally, but the quality of the service and attention to the customer remains as high as it can possibly be. There is an enormous level of Professional PRIDE in the way the shop is ri=un.
