After receiving a list of work that needed done on my Jeep from a dealer, along with estimates, I was referred to K Auto Repair and Tire Center by a friend. I spoke with Nathan informing him of what the dealer said. He recommended a complete inspection in order to see where the vehicle stands regarding maintenance. An appointment was quickly made, along with arrangements for a loaner vehicle. I dropped my Jeep off and within 3 hours, Nathan called with recommendations. He agreed with most items the dealer recommended; overall, prices ran a bit less expensive than the dealer. Nathan did a great job explaining what needed to be done and why; what repairs should come first and why. I never felt pressured or intimidated. He thoroughly answered all questions. This happened on a Friday afternoon, so he advised that my car would be ready Monday. There was no problem keeping the loaner car all weekend. I actually received a phone call Saturday at noon saying my vehicle was ready. i could either do an after hours pick up or wait until Monday. Nathan and K Auto made this a very pain-free and easy experience. I have found an auto repair, local business that I will use for future service needs.

Tanela Auto and Truck Repair was very helpful. While driving to work (on the highway) during the first snow of the year, my driver’s side wiper blade decided to stop working. I was able to make it to Tanela safely where they were able to get me a new blade and switch out the bad one in a timely manner. Staff were very friendly and easy to work with. And I was back on the road in no time.

I have had nothing but positive experiences at K Auto. I really appreciate that I can use a loaner car while mine is the shop, and the work is always performed well and promptly. They know me by name and vehicle, and there is no other place that has ever treated me so well. Tanella Auto replaced struts and shocks, lower control arms and rear break lines on a 2002 ford escape. Price was fair and competitive. A loaner vehicle was arranged for which was a stupendous convenience.We have had multiple vehicles maintained over a 15 year period and highly recommend them for their knowledge and scope of services provided. Bob will tell you what you really need and when you need it. He wont tell you to repair something just so he can make a quick buck. He is honest and to the point. I just had some work done on my car. I have 170,000 miles on it and it was finally starting to sound like it. After having a few things done to it, it sounds like a brand new car. I moved out of the Schaumburg area and I refuse to go anywhere else. I still drive 30 minutes even for an oil change.

We have had our cars serviced by Bob/team for years. They provide a great evaluation of service needs as well as provides information regarding what may need repairing in the future. Prices are extremely competitive and fair but I most value the quality of service as well as the honesty from Tanela. What you can expect is high integrity with personalized customer care each time.

The mechanics at Tanela did an excellent job on repairing my O2 sensor on my Toyota! Diagnosis was way cheaper than Midas! Bob also sent me a few 20$ off gift cards towards any future work as a thank you. He went a step further and personally called a week later just to check in and make sure that everything was running smooth! The attention to details and customer service are top notch here, I will definitely be back.

I dont have a lot of experiences with with Tanela Auto, but my oil changes have been satisfactory and most recently a larger transaction where I needed several oil leaks fixed. I was extremely satisfied with that experience with Bob because the dealership first quoted me on close to $1500. Bob offered some creative solutions and held back on things that he did not believe were necessary that the dealership was trying to get me to do. He did the work for almost half the price. Im going to bring my vehicle back for a check-up and continue to go to Tanela Auto for my routine maintenance needs. Thank you!

My husband Sean had his car repaired recently at Tanelas. They did a great job fixing everything. He had his struts, stabilizer bar, battery, and serpentine belt either replaced or repaired. I am a car enthusiast and very serious about maintaining my vehicles. I had been going to the same repair facility for years which unfortunately is no longer available. For a while now I have felt like a Nomad wandering and looking for the right, honest, fair & customer oriented repair facility. I now truly believe I have found that establishment. Late on a Friday I discovered my daughters car leaking coolant. I had been looking over reviews of repair facilities for quite some time and Tanela Auto & Truck Repair really stood out. I called and spoke with Bob and immediately from the conversation I had the right feeling. My daughter really needed her car. Bob enthusiastically said he would look at the car on Saturday morning and would do his best to have the car done on the same day if he could. Immediately I was treated with complete respect. I recent[y stopped in at Tanela because they advertise auto and truck repair. I own a 1999 dodge 3500 dually, a very heavy truck (7000# E.W.) Bob said he had a lift that would work. They were able to lift truck and replace rear shackles that rusted through, and replace shocks all around. During procedure his tech noticed brake lines that were almost corroded through and a leaky axle seal. Every repair that was not on original repair order was first called into me before work was done and explained thoroughly before proceeding. Repairs were done in a very timely fashion, all called in with progress reports. I have finally found a repair shop that can handle my truck, and is a lot less expensive than having to go to dealer all the time. I found this shop on Google and was fooled by the honest repairs fair prices ad; the owner, Bob took advantage of me and ripped me off. For changing my radiator and 2 hoses on my Honda Civic he charged me $500.00. Thief! My relative who has been servicing my Honda and was out of town, changed my radiator in 20 minutes and I paid for new radiator less than $100.00! The only reason I gave 1 star was to be able to post this review. Shame on you, Bob!!!

The experience was terrible with the owner. He thinks he can do whatever he wants without providing a decent if not good or superb customer service. I went in to do a routine car maintenance and he added additional charges that I had questions for. Everyone must look at their receipts before you pay for this location. They will charge extras and higher prices than other independent auto shops. Shop around before going there. Stay away!

After hearing from a Toyota Dealer on my 2009 Toyota Carolla that my right front ball joint had gone bad as well as contradicting information from 2 different auto mechanics I spoke with Bob who happily inspected my vehicle to later find out nothing was wrong but that I needed new brakes.The brake job was wonderful and I will definitely be bringing my other vehicles/friends/family to Tanela Auto in the near future.Bob and everyone at Tanela Auto Repair are amazing, honest, and extremely genuine individuals. While driving from Michigan to Bourbonnais to Schaumburg, I had unexpected problems with my engine overheating. Adding coolant allowed me to make it to the hotel, but when I went to get gas Friday night, it was clear that I couldnt drive more than a mile before my engine would overheat. I spent Friday night in the hotel trying to find a repair place that would not take advantage of an out of town woman. Tanela had excellent reviews, but I was very nervous that they wouldnt be able to fix my car on Saturday so that I could return home. From the moment I walked in at 7:50am, Tanela made me feel comfortable. They promised to call me within the hour to let me know if it was something they could fix today or not, but they would make every effort to get it done so I could get home. They even offered me a loaner car since I didnt have anyone local to come pick me up. About an hour later, they called to let me know I needed a new radiator and other items. They offered me some choices based on the mileage of my vehicle and texted me some pictures of the problem. They had to go to 3 stores to get everything I needed, but they would get it done. And the price was VERY fair. I was amazed that at 11:14 my car was finished and ready for the long ride home. I am so grateful that Tanela was able to help me so much and not take advantage of the situation I was in. I strongly recommend Tanela if you want honest, fair and compassionate auto repairs.

Ive been remiss in getting my reviews out here for Bob and Tanela Auto. We have 3 of our cars going there for maintenance now, and I would say that hes done an excellent job each and every time Ive been there. Most recently, we had our 99 Odyssey in for a check engine light which needed to be cleared in order to pass the Illinois Emissions test. We replaced the obvious components first, which fixed the problem temporarily, but with the light always coming back on. With time running out to get our car tested, Bob took it upon himself to work on the car until it would pass the test, and then took it in himself to have it done.Bobs been really good about telling us what things need fixing right now, and what things can wait, which is especially important with our older cars, since we dont want to be investing large amounts of money in them.I cant speak to anyone elses experience, but Ive been very happy with the service I get from Tanela Auto. In fact, Im going there again tomorrow. :-)

Been here to get my brakes done before. I was pretty satisfied with the work and it was pretty fast.My vehicle failed emissions, so I came back here and ask for them to check it out. I already knew the codes and what the problem was since emissions test gave me the codes. Had 1 oxygen sensor that needed to be replaced and had an evaporate leak. Had to leave my car here for them to check out. Bob gave me a call couple hours later said that it needed two oxygen sensors replaced and an evap leak. (Which I already knew) I asked what the price would have been for them to work on it.. He was about to charge me $600.. Oh and by the way I had my own new oxygen sensor already but he didnt wanna use those. So all it needed was to remove the old one. He didnt know what kind of Evap leak it had so I didnt understand why it would cost $600 for just labor on an oxygen sensor and that he would have to erase the codes. (All you gotta do is press a button on a code scanner to erase it) I told him it was a bit high (was actually too much) he said he can knock off $200 if he uses my oxygen sensor. I just told him no dont work on it anymore. Not to mention that Evap leak. Would of probably cost me a lot more from this shop.Bottom line is I think he was trying to take advantage of me since I was young. (He probably thought I didnt know anything about cars). Sucks that this shop has good reviews. And I had to put 2 stars.

Last week, I got a call from my S.O. that the radiator was blowing steam, and had an 8 crack along the top. Being new to the area I had never found a mechanic, but by a stroke of luck my S.O. and I both found Tanelas online, and called them up independently.I am incredibly happy that I found Tanelas because the service was excellent, their prices are highly competitive, and they are very nice people. My car was out of the shop the next day, with a brand new radiator and a 2 year warranty on the work that was done. Additionally, they were very honest when suggesting future maintinence, and they did their best to make the experience of having a broken down car as painless as possible. They even sent us 2 free movie passes along with a thank you note a week later.

We have had our vehicles maintained by Bob for many years now. No problem has ever stumped him; we always get fast repairs at reasonable cost. Bob works with us to keep our costs low by recommending factory parts when they are essential and other, less expensive brands when he knows the quality is good. He will never try to sell us repairs that wont be needed for several months.Recently Bob repaired the rear brakes on our Lexus but didnt try to sell us a front brake job as well, saying that could be put off a few months. Please avoid this place if you value your hard earned money. They might have good mechanics as most of reviews say but highly overpriced. In emergency for immediate fix this is the best place because they hardly have any customers even on the weekends.If someone cant read the detailed experience here is a brief summary.For the EVAP leak and brake service rob gave me an estimate of $893.00 plus he charged me $99.00 for engine code scan which is free in most of the places and they didnt even tell me there is a charge for that so I had to pay. I immediately took my car out of here to firestone and got everything fixed for $255.00 with a 12000 miles/1 yr warranty plus they gave me $30 coupons on brake service.Detailed experience:I had my check engine light on due to minor EVAP system leak which is mostly due to bad fuel tank cap. Also I had some brake service due for front axle. On weekends most of the auto shops are crowded on so I decide to give Tanela a try.I reached Tanela at 8am in morning on Saturday. I told him the problems and asked him to have a look and give some rough cost estimate. There were no customer but he said he will inspect the car and call me in 1 hr and WONT CHARGE ME ANYTHING without giving estimates. 3 hrs passed by and i got no call so finally I called them myself around 11. Rob starts telling me about the engine codes which was helpful. Then he came to brakes. I wasnt using the car for few days due to Engine light issue so my rear brakes also got some rust. He starts with my rear brakes which I didnt have any major issue with and said they need to be replaced. When I told him I got new brakes only 2 months back he took a U turn and said ok then we need to resurface rotors and replace brake pads. To resurface rotors he wants $120.00 plus $60.00 for low quality brake pads without any warranty. And for front brakes he asked me $330.00. Since I had already done some work on rear brakes 2 months back at firestone so I knew the rates and told him you are overcharging. The moment I said overcharging he got so furious and gave some lecture. I asked him not to work on brakes and tell about EVAP leak issue. Now he says since he has already done Enginecode scan I have to pay $99.00 plus he will do a smoke test to diagnose issue which will cost $120.00 plus after that whats the reason for leak I have to pay depending on fault. In morning he said WONT CHARGE ME ANYTHING without giving estimates and now its $99 for engine scan.Dude engine code scan is free everywhere and he charge me $99 without even telling me. The moment he told that i asked him to immediately stop working on my car and I went and took my car back. For all this work he gave me an estimate of $893.00 plus he already charged $99.00 plus he would have made more money to fix EVAP leak which is not included in $893.00Then I took my car to Firestone on Barrington/Bode intersection and by then the rear brake noise was gone as rust wiped off itself by driving few miles and they fixed the front brake for just $230.00 which include new rotor and Warner brake pads with lifetime warranty. For the EVAP leak they did Engine code scan for free. While fixing brakes it took them little longer to get the parts so they gave me EVAP leak diagnosis for free which they usually charge $100.00. After diagnosis they found a small leak due to bad fuel tank cap and just replaced the fuel tank cap with new one for $25.00. Overall it costed me $255.00 for which Tanela gave me an estimate of $1000+.I wanted to make sure my car is fixed properly before writing this review and its been 20 days now since I am driving it after fix. Plus firestone gave me a 12000 mile/1 yr warrant for the work they did.Also firestone do brake service for $89.00/axel which includes resurfacing rotors and new brake pads. Mr. Rob were asking me 120+60 for the same work which was enough to judge them.I still have the estimate and bill Tanela auto gave me and if someone feel I am shooting in the dark please google firestone coupons and verify all these rates yourself.

I just had my 2005 Nissan Armada worked on by Bob and his very talented mechanics. The service was fast and Bobs assesment of my vehicle was spot on. His prices were more than fair which is what you want in these tough economic times. Tanela auto fail to detect a life treating defect on my front suspension (bushing on the lower control arm was torn ). Stay away from this place if your life is valuable . Not be able to see such a defect that can lead to an accident is so moronic, make me wonder, how is this even possible.
