Every step of the way, the team at Chilton was professional, courteous, responsive and helpful. I ordered a new Bethel Bookcase in April 2021. The in-store support was very helpful without being intrusive and they explained every step of the process. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues, lumber shortage, general COVID-y inefficiencies, my bookshelf was fairly significantly delayed. Even though this didnt feel like it was avoidable, they offered me a discount and were informative throughout the process. The delivery team was efficient, courteous and thorough.My bookcase exceeded my expectations on all levels. its well built, elegant, sturdy and the showcase piece in the room. From placing to receiving my order, all services were courteous and timely. My chairs arrived well protected and workmanship is as excellent as I expected. Translating color charts of fabric from images to actual can be tricky in any case. I would consider making further purchases without hesitation.

Love our dining room table and chairs from Chilton. We have only one criticism: the table and chairs are on a wood floor and the delivery people did not put any felt pads on the legs to keep them from scratching the floor. I had to buy some myself and put them on.

After many months of searching for furniture that my wife and I liked....Chilton was the one placed we both agreed on. Im not sure how some places can justify charging thousands on plastic junk. We always liked the quality and style of furniture from Chilton. So we thought of them when we needed a media console for a new very large TV. They had a 3 section console in maple wood on their website so we drove up to their Scarborough store to see it first hand. The console was perfect for us, by great luck they had one available in the warehouse and delivery was made to our home 10 days later. It looks great in our living room.The sales person, Sean, was very helpful. The delivery guys were on time and masked while in our home. A great experience.

I am extremely happy to show off my Chilton dining table – it is simple stunning and so expertly and uniquely handcrafted. We were looking for a table to fit a unique space and the staff at Chilton was able to recommend oval extension dining tables. It fits perfectly. We were able to customer order it in walnut (it came standard in cherry). The table is always something people notice and we are asked about it whenever friends or family see it. The wood grain is beautiful and the finish is smooth but durable. We eat on it every day with a family of 6 and it stands up beautifully. We were particularly impressed with the delivery from states away - the delivery team was friendly, on time, and extremely careful and respectful of our home. They carried it exactly where we asked them, set it up and took the blankets back with them so no packaging to discard and nothing to assemble. A truly first class overall experience with Chilton.

A pleasure from start to finish.

Bought 4 beautiful ash counter stools, kensai, painted matte black during the sale. Love them! The showroom in Scarborough is beautiful and gave me ideas on how to have my 30yr old Chilton oak kitchen table ( yup, still love it!) and Windsor chairs redone to match my new kitchen. Eleanor supplied me with the name of the black paint (of the stools) so I can do my chairs to match and also gave me a list of furniture refinishers.Everyone is so helpful, friendly, no pressure. I even took two different stools home overnight to see which one looked best in my kitchen.

I was kind of in a hurry to get a bookshelf, and the people at Chiltons made it simple. It was roughly 3 hours from the time I identified the bookshelf on their website (which had thorough specifications) until the time I got it into my office. And it fit perfectly!

My Kopi dining table arrived with a chunk gouged into the side due to the delivery company. Needless to say, I was not at all happy. I contacted Chilton immediately, sent pictures, and without hesitation they got back to me and offered a resolution, which was completely acceptable to me and in my opinion, went beyond what one could ordinarily expect. My replacement table arrived last week, and it is perfect. The wood, the finish, its everything I hoped for and more. We ordered the Shaker Extension dining table from Chilton but we had it custom made in walnut. The construction is extremely solid and the extension mechanism is smooth and easy to use. It is nice to see true craftsmanship and an American made product. I suspect the kids will argue over this table some day but first we will enjoy it for many years to come. This is the first time we had ordered from Chilton and we could not be happier with the overall experience, and it was nice working with a family owned business. Very happy overall and would highly recommend them.

We ordered a bed, kitchen table, and jelly cabinet from Chilton Furniture, and we love them all. Each piece was finely crafted, and I especially love how they blend modern and traditional style in their updated Shaker look. The sales people were very kind both in the store when we visited and later on the phone. For example, they got back to me right away about a quote for a walnut rather than cherry for the bed, and the choice of particular walnut wood is stunning. The delivery people accommodated our requests for safety given the pandemic (wearing masks and using a particular door). I highly recommend Chilton Furniture for beautiful, hand-crafted, solid wood pieces.

Really helpful staff. We ended up going to both the Freeport store and the Scarborough store to see a particular piece in person. Both stores have incredibly helpful and knowledgeable sales staff. They went out of their way to help us and answer our questions. In addition to being a long-time Chilton Furniture customer, continually happy with all of the great pieces I’ve purchased from then over the years - I also wanted to share a recent experience with customer service.I had odered a few living room accessory pieces (end tables, etc.) just before the COVID-19 situation unfolded. The pieces came in and the Zac at the Scarborough store was super helpful in assisting with a smooth, limited contact pick-up in mid-April. The furniture was absolutely beautiful, and exactly what I had wanted for the space. I ended up having a concern related to coloration which I had hoped I’d be able to get used to.When I finally woke up and realized that the issue I was having wasn’t likely to be something I’d be happy with long-term, I went over to the Scarborough store, and the manager fully understood my concerns and referred me to one of the owners.I wrote an email to Jared (one of Chilton’s owners), and explained my quandary. Jared responded immediately to my email, and was extremely helpful in assisting me with replacing the items which weren’t working out for me. And he offered to do this - before I “mentioned” that I had already placed replacement items in my Chilton on-line “shopping cart” anyway (which happened to be more expensive than the original ones).So all of this long story is to say that, in addition to having a great selection of really great, high-quality furniture - I can’t really say enough good things about the customer service experience I just had.I have a Chilton bedroom set that’s probably 10 years old at this point - and looks as good today as it did when I got it. I look forward to getting the new pieces I just ordered with the same expectation.Chilton furniture really isn’t the sort of thing that you buy, and replace in a few years because its quality doesn’t last. We had been looking at coffee tables in stores and on line for several months following our move into an old Spanish cottage here in Palm Springs, but everything was too big, too long, to overwhelming for the space we have in our small cottage. Then I spied an ad for Chilton Furniture in a magazine, when on line and then ordered a catalog. When we discovered that the company would allow us to make the shaker coffee table/bench much smaller than shown, and that we could get a darker color to go with our Stickley furniture, we called the Chilton and spoke to Dennis S., who was most helpful and patient with our questions. While it was a long wait for our coffee table, around 13 weeks, it finally arrived and WE LOVE IT! The craftsperson who made it, made it with love of fine furniture and it is a work of art. Everyone we have dealt with at Chilton has been GREAT and we can tell they love their work in the company. I could not be more satisfied with the quality and service at Chilton. My 15+ year old jelly cabinet doors started to wear at the corners. I had hoped they could be repaired but because they could not, new doors were built. They were of a higher quality, matched the paint exactly and Steve came to my home to install. I love this place.The Shaker inspired furniture at Chilton evokes feelings of the pleasure to be had in simplicity and in simple aesthetic forms. Each piece--each handmade bed, dresser, pie safe, dining table, desk, wine clock, kitchen chair, swivel stool, buffet table, huntboard, sideboard, and headboard--is crafted with incredible precision, to achieve remarkably crisp lines and planes and volumes that the wood itself never imagined possible. After seeing several of your adds my wife and I visited Chilton Furniture in Scarborough to look for a new desk for our home. The selection blew our minds. We fell in love with the Casco Bay desk. It was perfect for what we needed and beautiful to boot. The delivery people were super polite and didnt bat an eye when we asked them to carry it to our upstairs loft. I dont usually write reviews but the furniture at Chilton and the sales people working there made this whole buying experience so worth while I just had to tell the world. Problem I have now is I dont need any more furniture. Wish I had known about Chilton when I fist started furnishing my home.
