I want to give a huge shout out to Karen in the Floral department. It was the Anniversary of my brother in laws passing, and we were on vacation in Savannah, and the White Lilly has significant meaning when remembering him. Karen was absolutely amazing, it is seldom in this day and age to find an employee with such a desire to help, and at the same time give a great deal. If I didnt live in Canada, I would 100% be there anytime I needed flowers! She is truly the best!
Just walked out trying to cash a check at customer service with Valerie. And as many times as I have been here, to cash a check I never been turned away from a multi-billion-dollar company because they didnt have money to cash a check. To top it off she had me and a few other customers waiting after 8am for 10 -15 minutes while she was walking around with a money bag collecting money.
Tons of employees but not a single register open and a huge line of people for self checkout, drive farther for a better shopping experience, and dont go to this kroger-the staff seriously need to stop with the reliance on self checkout. No way to treat customers. If I wanted to check out my own groceries, I would work there, but I dont.
What a miserable experience. Downtown Savannah deserves a better grocery than this. Empty shelves and poor customer service. Good luck shopping here.
Visiting from Florida. First time at this place. Stay away is probably best advice I can give you. The store is not stocked, employees dont give ... what you are doing or if there is anything going on, the store is dirty. I could easily compare this store to a South Beach Public restroom in Miami. Wont be at this store again
Upon entering this Kroger, one is greeted with a scene of chaos, with no clear path into the store. The effect is stress-inducing, since you have to walk against the flow of exiting customers, pass through a self-checkout line, or go right and through a narrow passage into the bakery area. This initial experience sums up what one can expect shopping here. There is nothing pleasant about this store, it is akin to swimming against a current, never a sense of flowing and enjoying shopping. Aisles are narrow and clogged with stocking palettes, and other customers hogging space. Stock is always low, if not empty. Checkout is as stressful as entering, with a long line at the only self checkout area. The only thing Ill give Kroger are its coupon deals. Otherwise, a dreadful location that leaves one feeling bedraggled and frustrated. Considering Kroger is the second largest retailer in this country, they have the resources to do better for Savannah. Either they dont care, or they dont see the need for improvement. In either case, its an insult to shoppers.
Love this Kroger, central location to downtown, always staffed with friendly folks, produce section is great, service at deli is fast ( and yes they have Boars Head selections!).Bike parking up front and they actually have bike tools near the bike parking area to use if you need them.Would give 5 star except parking for cars is across a road that people speed thru.
I come here on my day shifts and I see the same person(s) each time. Unfortunately, no welcome. No greeting, poor Kroger shopping experience. Cant say its too early to speak to a paying customer. I couldve kept my cash and took it to a gas station that gives a warm welcome to each and every customer that walks in the door. Also, if a Kroger rep is reading this please reach out to me I have that employee name. I believe she needs to be retrained or repositioned to to shelf stocking where she dont have to worry about being the first person that sees the customer
Very cool store i purdchased a durian
Visiting from florida and shopping in this kroger was kind of a harrowing experience. The shelves werent every blocked up, the produce was never really firm enough, and the quality of the product seemed lacking. Overall a pretty dusty location
Great selection and in my neighborhood...bought money order, reading glasses and soda...
Avoid at all cost. Never fully stocked in anything. Lines are always long. Closes half of the self checkout at night even though there is a line that wraps around to the freezer section. 5 minute trip ends up being 30, and guarantee you didn’t even get all you wanted to get. I wouldn’t post this if it was a one time occurrence, it’s every week.
Always gave what I want and much more products I enjoy is important
This is a very nice Kroger its in the neighborhood so I like to walk to it just about every day.
Convenient location but very stressed, frazzled and somewhat unfriendly staff. I’d opt for somewhere with better service when possible.
Customer service is very slow. The employees are deliberately slowing down the process in an attempt to deter customers from waiting their turn. I waited thirty two minutes with only two customers before me in the line. Several other customers complained to at least three assistant managers to no avail....
1/21/2021 - Im on aisle 7 about to grab some black tea and a rat comes out of a hole by my foot.I was so scared that I changed my mind on buying the tea, because that point I didnt even want it.Went to check out with the rest of the things that I had and reported me finding the rodent to the clerk. She laughed and said oh, I work overnight so I see them all the time dont worry they wont bother you.I was even more shocked that workers at this Kroger location know about the rodents living there like its the norm. As I scroll down to read more reviews of the store; I see that a reviewer reported they saw a rat at this location 11 months ago.If you shop here, beware of your food and products. I will not return to this location to shop ever again.
On the smaller size for a Kroger but what can you really expect with it being inside of downtown Savannah. Usually quick in and out for groceries or money center. Starbucks conveniently inside also makes this place a bit busy at times.
Favorite grocery in downtown Savannah.
The deli will just sit there and watch you waiting only to tell you (after you flag them down), that they aren’t taking orders. What is the point of the deli?
Store is dirty. No cash registers are open. No help finding items.
As someone who grew up in Savannah and remembers THE Mall and THE Kroger on Mall Blvd., and when PigglyWiggly stocked any pasta that wasnt spaghetti, egg noodles or lasagna on the ethnic aisle, I was amazed to see not only Stumptown Cold Brew, Planet Oat milk and TexMex Jackfruit but also this giant whole jackfruit which I havent seen in NYC where I have lived for 17 years and the last three as vegan. I saw shelves a bit disorganized and low/zero stock on some items but in that trite, I-walked-three-miles-in-the-snow-to-school way, this Kroger rocked! I snapped a pic of the Georgia Grown blueberries as a shoutout to my niece, the test kitchen manager for Georgia Grown (part of Georgia Dept of Ag). Support local food producers and watch out for Chef Olivia Rader; shes going to elevate whatever she is working on.
Deli staff is amazing and very helpful. Great customer service and very courteous.
Lovely place that has a great selection of fresh and high quality groceries. The customer service is excellent and the location very convenient.
Great deals great employees
Worst Kroger Ive ever been to and trust me Ive been to many of them in diff states
Kenneth Clarke was the NICEST and MOST PROFESSIONAL worker I’ve encountered at Kroger.I was shopping for some last minute deals after thanksgiving, and Kenneth really put a smile on my face with his easy going nature and professional standards. If he hasn’t been promoted yet, this guy needs to be manager ASAP.I shop here almost every day too. Thanks Kenneth (fist bump)
Hate going here but its the most convenient to my house. They never have money to cash checks, never have appropriate associates to help, and for some reason all Krogers believe they should close down all their tills an hour before they close. Save yourself trouble, go to Publix
Costumer service in this place is a joke. Waited 25mins in self check out waiting to get ID check, went out to 2 lazy staff members talking about “he been txting me this” I told asked if we could get some help, one of the girls replied “that ain’t my problem”. Add more self check out machines and get rid of these ppl with 0 costumer service. These 2 girls were on the first check out line around 6pm, too busy talking and checking their phones.
Love it
Be careful at this Kroger. Within the past month I have seen a large rat in the produce section (which a security guard then proceeded to throw grapes at) and a cockroach. Im not sure if they get routine health inspections.
This review is for an exemplary employee: Rose. I was in the store and noticed a specific hard to find chocolate bar. I asked someone for assistance and they pointed me to to Rose. She was the ultimate professional and delivered such a great customer service that many doctors should learn from her on how to emulate. She listened well, did her due diligence in trying to find more of the product and even offered to check the stock availability at other stores. She gave me a time to call back the store when her shift ended and managed to make herself available and nearby to take the call. She managed to find an additional box of the chocolates and left the product so that I could pick it up at my convenience. She is a super human for going out of the way and I think Kroger should compensate such outstanding folks appropriately. Rose was the best part of my trip to Savannah! Best of luck!
Bad service and never answer there phone i was waiting literally 1 hour and 30 minutes
I just wanted to say what a lovely neighborhoodly experience I had in your store today! I left my phone in the produce section and I had multiple employees and customers trying to help me find it and empathizing with me and it was above and beyond what I would expect. To the two beautiful women who were working self check out today, May 1, 2019 Around 1:00 PM, THANK YOU for being so compassionate and helpful! I wish I had asked your names. Just feeling grateful that you’re my neighborhood Kroger ❤️
Great location and had everything we needed while visiting Savannah.
Only place i get my grocery from 👍👍👍🙏
One of Savannahs best Kroger stores. The produce department is awesome, they always have someone to assist you no matter what your questions is. Their deli has a larger variety then other Kroger stores. Customer Service is HIGH on their list. While it stays extremely busy and the lines often form into the aisles, management does their best to accommodate their customers as quickly as possible.
A decent place to get groceries. The store is well stocked and had what we needed for our road trip stopover. Their restrooms are small and not too well kept— I’d give it a 3.5/5 if it were possible to just rate their facilities. Parking is a bit odd— a separate parking lot across from the entrance. They do have a coinstar and a nice selection of baked goods, snacks, and alcohol.
Great experience. Employees are helpful and pleasant. Store is clean but the lighting inside could be brighter. The fruits and vegetables are beautiful. It was an enjoyable shopping outing.
I love this store. Its always clean and the people who work there are always friendly. I laid my wallet down and when I realized what I had done the person who was selling newspaper got up immediately and helped me find my wallet. She suggested that I go to the customer service and ask about my wallet. The gentleman behind the counter had it and gave it to me with my bank cards and 💰 all there. I do everything in Kroger. I shop groceries, use pharmacy, and get gas as well. I love Kroger Geometry. The Pharmacist always answer my question willingly. Keep up the good work.
This location downtown is very busy. The store is always clean and fully stocked. Kroger frozen ready meals are great when cooking for 1 or 2 people.
I was able to get my meds filled here. I recommend.
Theres always great service here. From the customer service counter to personally helping customers transport their groceries to their vehicle....Theres amazing sales and a lot of items in the store to choose from, even though the building is pretty small. Also, if any item is too hard to find, theres always someone willing to help out the best way they can. Even, New workers have a sense of how to help out customers with the limited stuff they know....
I try to avoid shopping here as much as I can. The staff is rude and unhelpful, they are constantly sold out of common grocery items, meat, produce, and bakery quality is poor, camera monitors make it feel like a high-security prison, and the store is dimly lit compared to most grocers.Believe me, Publix is worth the drive.
Disorganized dirty and poorly stocked. The checkout counters are dirty, the cashiers should wipe them down once in a while as needed. Compared to Publix and Kroger in Richmond Hill where everyone goes out of their way to smile and greet you, it makes you wonder where that Savannah Southern Hospitality has gone... It is however conveniently located but they truly dont work hard to deserve our business.
I wouldnt advise anyone to try going here to their customer service to pay an bill after 9:45 unless youre ready to get cursed out by the not so nice lady with the up North accent, although they close at 10. I passed the krogers in Berwick Plantation thinking that Id be able to stop here and pay a bill, instead I was cursed out by an associate for being late and told, to leave for not being calm and humbled, by the manager Chloe. After getting cursed by an associate who was obviously ready to go home before exactly at 10 P.M that I wouldnt be able to pay my bill, I have once again come to the conclusion that a lot of corporations dont pay enough attention to how the associates are interacting with us customers that choose to come to their store.
I Love this Kroger! It has everything you need plus deals everyday! Great customer service in every department!
We had a really nice cashier today she was very fast and accurate. She was friendly and also asked us that we find everything we were looking for and really meant it. Thank you for your time and patience because we had a lot of groceries.
It is conveniently located for me but the store itself is far from perfect: so very often they run out of products and sometimes the shelves are somewhat empty. They have far fewer choices of nut and other vegan milks than they used to.The location of products was completely reorganized too and now it is hard to find anything.During peak times one has to wait in line for quite a while because there are not enough cashiers. The only very good feature about this Kroger is its location, as I have mentioned in the beginning.I must say, however, that many employees are very pleasant and friendly - that creates a nice atmosphere!
Great Team Members! Very helpful Team Members. Love the Store Manager Mr. Carl Davis. Great produce department with fresh looking cut fruit.
My review may be a little biased as I often stop by to location on green and Arnold Mill, a location that brings many more fresh and exciting items to the floor. They still have most of what you need and, of course, the staff is very friendly and kind to you. It is conveniently accessed by a couple different roads and is it welcomed spot in the area.
Great sushi! Fresh veggies and fruits and a good organic selection. Usually pretty speedy lines and great customer service.
I drove here to get gas. I hope I am reviewing the right place. I was just taken aback by the fact that it was a Kroger. This is the name sake that has bought so many other places like Frys and Harris Teeter. They are a giant... fee fi fo fum....
Its a grocery store. Could have better prices but the service us pretty good. Not wowing anybody but its In a convenient spot.
Nice but quite cramped store. I got all I needed and even saw some foods that I havent seen in other grocery stores. Great first time going to a Kroger.
Very dim lighting. Just not a happy place. Cashiers could be friendlier. Pharmacy visits always a pleasant experience. But dont even bother with the customer service desk if theres a line.
Overall there ok here at this store. The deli people are always upset to make my order. I even apologize and any other deli is better. But again its just the deli I have ever had issues.
I really enjoy the community feeling of this store. Its lively and has a lot of cultural variety. The organic section is amazing! The one thing that is so bad its worthy of losing two stars is the ridiculous wait to check out with long lines, no cashiers and only the one self checkout section up and running. It was really unfortunate as this seems to be the case at all the local Krogers. Yet, if you go in Publix, its never like this. They have adequate cashiers.
I love Kroger. I live in walking distance to food lion and never shop there. Kroger has fresh quality food. You just cant beat anywhere
Kroger is my favorite grocery store. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great specials weekly. Electronic coupons. Well stocked. The pharmacy is so easy with the user friendly app.
Only place to get groceries downtown. Dont go on Mondays, beginning of the month, or middle of the month. Interesting array of people that come here ranging from college students, food stampers, and the super rich.Place has everything you need and is reasonable.
Savannahs downtown Kroger is the only significant grocery store in the downtown area. It is well-stocked, including organic and specialty items. It also has saved me from embarrassment by having a reasonable selection of fresh flowers available any time. Hours are very convenient for early morning or late evening shopping, both of which I have done. The store is often crowded but that is mainly because the neighborhood is densely populated with college students. Night security is good, so I dont worry about stopping in at 11:30 at night to grab something.
Very good, except stock on shelves were low. Was not surprised considering we just had the hurricane Irma go through and food stamps loaded early for people. Also emergency additional monies were added to peoples accounts.
I only shopped in the grocery store and the workers were rude as hell. Georgians are always SO nice, but not so much here.
I was literally just there at customer service. The young lady and the gentleman behind the counter we excellent however I see no reason their management should be in any position of authority. I witnessed them call for assistance 3 times before they were ever acknowledged. They literally ran out of money and still no one who was able came to help....
Great supermarket, fresh vegetables, fruits, also organic. All the meats you desire. Fresh and frozen fish. And clean ta boot.
*****Please note: at the time of this review, it has been reported by myself and others that the scale on self-serve registers is off, sometimes adding as much as a pound to produce that requires weighing. A formal complaint has been launched with the Ga Dept of Agriculture.
Cashier did not ask me if I wanted to use my Kroger card and then once i started paying said it was too late to “Save money” so much for Kroger points . Be aware they do not care about black people(even the black people) asked the lady ahead of us which was Caucasian if she wanted to use her Kroger card
Very conveniently located full service grocery store with parking, close to downtown Savannah and Historic District. Good variety of fresh meat, fish and produce. Friendly service.
One of the worst managed grocery stores Ive ever been to. No matter what time of day you go, the shelves are disheveled and bare and the front is chaotic for no discernible reason. I usually dont bother with negative reviews, but this place is so noticeably bad and has been so for so many years that if bears mentioning.
Not crazy crowded. Close to SCAD buildings and downtown so convenient for scad kids
Easily the worst grocery store Ive ever been too. Unfortunately, I cant really avoid it most of the time. The neighborhood around it is actually terrifying, the people are rude, the service is slow and, dare I say, unintelligent. On multiple occasions Ive been charged twice for one item, not been asked for my Kroger card, had my items dropped or left behind. The store itself is an absolute mess, items are scattered all over the place, each time I go I always see containers that have been opened with food missing, half eaten food thrown on the floor or shelves, broken seals on drinks, etc. My safety is actually a concern to me while Im here for both the atmosphere and the food itself. Stay away if you can.
Awful customer service. No one was available when the self check out machine was acting up. Had to wait 5 mins for a manager to lazily make her way down stairs just so I could leave.
Overall, the store is JUST OK...The only reason why I bother with this place is that it is in my neighborhood .If you need something from the Deli, save yourself the aggravation....they dont care about you....they will leave you standing there for a very long time before acknowledging you. When you finally do get a chance to order, the attendants act like it is a BIG CHORE to help you...management doesnt care either when bringing it to their attention...
Great place to shop. Easy access to items, and reasonable pricing for every day usable items.
Bathrooms are spacious since thats the first place my boys run to. However they are always cleaning them. If I am I need of something that isnt stocked, they are apologetic and call other locations. Customer service is 👍
I love this store the fresh vegetables are wonderful, I buy plenty broccoli and theirs is always fresh. I Love this supermarket. thanks
Everything was well-being stocked and tidy. Everyone was welcoming and friendly!!! It was a sweet introduction to Savannah!!!
Small store but very well stocked. Always busy as its the only grocery store in the area.
Love the deli food and staff. Place is always busy but very convenient. The Starbucks staff is always friendly.
I love the store something could be better but I see theyre working on alot staff is wonderful tho so kind and helpful
They are nvr stocked up on stuff
Decent prices for such a convenient location. Parking is always a pain and takes forever though, be prepared. Also, deli will take you half of your visit if not more, so long as you can find someone to help you.
Good quality foods variety and you can get fresh coffee from Starbucks 👍
I love this store. Great produce, always fresh. If youll looking for a sale; this is the place.
Store has a wide selection of items, including a nice selection of vegetarian options. Store is older and well-worn, but the staff here tend to be very friendly and helpful. Thw staff pull the store from a 3 to a 4.
Nice, clean and helpful. Shelves were empty of some sale items. Nice deli and bakery.
Everyone working here was friendly, its a little dusty, no big deal.
Closed before 00:15am while claiming the store opens until 1am. Great job and I did notice it👏🏼
The pharmacy, my no substitutions order is routinely ignored by the distribution center. The organic produce section is the best Ive seen anywhere in Savannah at a good price. (Brighter Day, Whole Foods etc). Everyone is very friendly.
Not the best kept grocery store in town but it has a decent selection and centralized location. It gets a ton of traffic so Its best to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.
Aisles were too close together. Cashier was nice. Bag boy didnt bag the cold stuff together.
Good for a quick shop, but definitely not the best place to do your weekly shopping.
One of the few places in Savannah open past 10pm. When the city shuts down after 5pm because reasons you learn to appreciate businesses with hours for people who are up past 7pm and need medicine, food or anything else.
I love this grocery store everything my family wants food and pharmacy plus discount on gas!
