A cool place to visit with tons of choices but big $$$ if you are not careful. We stopped in here after a trolley tour of historic Savannah. So much to choose from but when you dont see prices anywhere you better be careful. We picked up a couple pralines and a bear claw. Price is $24.95 a pound! Our total was only $6.99. Service was quick and this place was busy.
We had fun shopping in this store. You can see different kinds of candy being made. They have so many kinds like fudge, taffy, popcorn, chocolate truffles and so on. My husband bought jelly fruit slices and ranch flavored popcorn. I bought the iconic saltwater taffy. Its worth stopping by and checking out the candy store. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Stopped in for their homemade pralines and bear claw and both were really tasty. The homemade pralines were in white chocolate and milk chocolate and we ate it all in 1 sitting. Hey offer a huge assortment of candy and they also have an ice cream parlor within. If you have a sweet tooth and on River Street make sure to check this place out.
The pralines were melt in your mouth amazing. They give you small samples as you walk in, which sold me immediately. We got a few other chocolates but the pralines by far the best thing here.Theres ice cream and popcorn here, as well as a coke machine and tons of sweets and candy. I definitely wouldnt say this place is a MUST, (dont go out of your way for it) but if your walking by or in the area, definitely stop in for a sample!
Oh my gosh this place has incredible pralines! They melt in your mouth so good! They have incredible Handmade Chocolates all kinds and the best fudge ever! If you come to River Street Savannah ever you have to go into the sweet shop and check it out!
Staff was awesome. The place is a bit confusing to navigate and figure out where lines start and end, but its definitely a must-see place. The history of the store and the family are truly the epitome of the American Dream and hard work. It doesnt hurt that their products are delicious, as well. The only disappointment is the astronomical cost of EVERYTHING. $25-26 per pound for the case items, and the bags of pralines and popcorn were absurd. I know its a novelty, but $25 for a bag of snack? Or $16 for the small size? Come on. I would have spent so much more money if I thought I was getting what it was worth, but they definitely have tourist pricing. Its such a popular place with lines running out the door at all times. Youd think, surely the pricing could be more reasonable, especially given their history and their familys story. To me it felt like a cash-grab, homemade or not. Sure, I drop a few bucks in those places to experience them, but I spend the real money in the places where I feel valued, and I can get value for what I spend.
Great pralines. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Offered suggestions and samples. I bought some for family and office staff and they were nice to help me pack each individually.
Oh my pralines!!! You walk in to the smell of just heaven! And they give you a sample the second you even get in the door and your automatic hook. So many different sweets and treats for everyone. Definitely recommend the fudge it does not last more then 2 days at my house. So happy they opened on in Florida.
Travellers, this is my favorite destination in savannah, because we walk to this candy shop and then walk back. The pralines are crazy delicious.the chocolate pecan turtles were fantastic too. Stuff moves out of the store it is very busy. It is on the beautiful and historic riverwalk. There are lots of ways to burn the candy calories off, but if youre in Savannah, check it out. We recommend.
It’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m on River Street... it’s definitely time for a stop at River Street Sweets. I absolutely loved this caramel and dark chocolate candy apple! Definitely recommend stopping here and the service is always great. Staff welcome you with a smile and are always happy and smiling.
Omg they had to much great candies, taffy, and popcorn. Enjoyed all the flavors, bad news for my diet will start next week. Gr8 spot to visit.
River Street Sweets has a huge selection of different kinds of sugary sweets. The selection was numerous from super sweets, to sours, to chocolate items galore. Their soecialty was chocolate covered items and it was so interesting to see what types of items they would dunk in chocolate. I highly recommend you and your family swing by this place and try out all they have to offer!
So I order pralines and bear claws for my mom and sis close to Mothes Day yearly. I happen to be in Savannah on River Street and was able to experience the entire store!!!! AMAZING.....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE ENVIRONMENT AND EMPLOYEES!!! They have the best BEAR CLAWS!!
We visited here from Orlando, and let me tell you...this place is amazing! They went above and beyond to make our girls visit there special! We are so grateful to Emily for allowing us to come in, even though they had closed. The candy selection was incredible! Everything is made in the shop, and so yummy & fresh! Ice cream, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate dipped marshmallows, fancy caramel apples, Smores, chocolate covered rice crispy treats, etc!!!It was a great experience and we are so thankful we got to experience it while in Savannah!!!!
This place has the best pralines. Good selection of fudge and brittle. Fresh flavored popcorn and roasted flavored pecans. Very very good.
By far, the BEST candy shop on the River! Once you enter, they give you a sample of fresh, warm, gooey delicious pralines and the wonderful scent permeates the entire store. There was a little wait, but so worth it. We lucked out and had Karizma taking care of us. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable, but she blew us away with her customer service and care. She deserves a raise! She was patient, listened to our requests, and gave us the special without us asking, which for someone like myself, that earns my loyalty and blessing. I highly recommend adding this to your trip as a must stop and please go say Hi to our new friend, Karizma. Treat her well and enjoy the delicious treats!
I got the dark chocolate almonds bark. The chocolate was some of the worst quality chocolate Ive ever had. The almonds also seemed stale. Even Hersheys Dark with Almonds is better.
They have good stuff, but expect to pay the tourist price. Make sure you dont have an itch for a milkshake anytime after 9pm or else they wont have the machine or only have creamer and cannot make one. The sweets and chocolate are good and the place is always bustling with foot traffic.
We stopped in there yesterday briefly for a tour of the store. The free sample of the praline cookie was so excellent, but tasted like pure sugar. I think I saw 100 tons of sugary items in that store. If you have a sweet tooth or want some snacks to take home then this is the place for you!
This place is the candy store to go to. Great fresh taffy. Bear claws and fudge are the best from here. Fresh and perfect. Free taffy and popcorn as they are making it. Prices are good considering the locale and other candy stores in the area. Definitely put this in your to do list - and plan on buying some candy!Update: 3 months later and still perfect. Great ice cream and the presentment of the ice cream is superb. I can’t say enough about how great this place is. Everyone is so nice and friendly and the snacks are to die for.
This is my favorite candy store on river street! The packaging for the candy apples and Carmel apple are perfect for travel unlike the other shop on the strip!!! Everything was fresh and good!
So the store itself was really efficient and had really friendly employees. I bought a candy apple and was very excited because I’ve been craving a candy apple for three weeks now. I decided to save my apple for later so I could eat it while watching my favorite show. I get it home and all is well and good until I tried to unwrap it. That mf was STUCK. I guess the wrapper had melted into the candy or sumn. I worked tirelessly for 30 mf minutes to free tht candy apple from its plastic prison to no avail. I even tried cutting it up to see if I could eat around it then I almost choked on the plastic as it was going down. Yeah probably not my best problem solving skills. Then I tried straight up rinsing it with water and this mf was relentless. Nothing was working. Tbh it was just a mild inconvenience and I’m being dramatic but I’m a little sad that I’m out 5 bucks cause I could’ve spent that on some chicken nuggies. Otherwise tho it was a pretty cashmoney store. Very swag. Would visit again.
Candy, candy, candy. From the moment you walk in you can smell how good your treat will be.
This is the best candy shop I’ve ever seen!! OMG!! It is a must go place!!! Amazing and staff super friendly staff. These were the best pralines with no doubt. The lady preparing the pralines was super nice and she was offering to us the pralines to taste all the time. They also have sugar free options, pop corn and ice creams. Worth the visit. 😋🍭🍫🍬🍿
I just love pralines and cannot get them anywhere. Found them here! The gelato selection is nice. The praline and lemon sorbet were very good.
Everyone was exceptionally energetic and friendly! Brian helped me at the chocolate counter, he has very high customer service, super friendly and a great smile! Thank you!! 🙏🙏
Popcorn, ice cream, and candy! I absolutely love visiting this place. Theres a large selection of treats and the atmosphere makes you feel like a kid again. Definitely visit if you find yourself downtown by the river.
Great ice cream and candy but it did not seem like there was any management at all in that store for all the kids working there. They were all standing around talking, cussing or on theyre phones while I waited to get help a couple different times.
The smell in this place alone deserves 5 stars. Got the jalapeño popcorn, bear claws, and chocolate covered pretzel. Incredibly tasty. Certainly a Savannah staple.
I visit down here and go to River Street Sweets often but, Sydney made this my best experience yet. So so so nice . She had such a warmth about herself and helped me out with all my orders !
River Street Sweets caters to and creates a charming experience for all along the Savannah River waterfront. With variety in sweets, comes overwhelming desire! I recommend a visit here!
Got the biggest Rice Krispie treat I’ve ever seen at Rive Street Sweets while taking a long weekend trip to Savannah. Absolutely worth every calorie, it was absolutely delicious! Definitely worth visiting if you have a sweet tooth!
Stopped in to this large candy shop just on the River Walk. Offers a large variety of sweets that are fresh made. Offers samples of most candies and fudge. Love the fudge and the caramel apples. Great for those who cant resist their sweet tooth.
Sydney was sooooo nice and sweet and amazing. There was a couple who didn’t understand the pricing (which wasn’t Sydneys fault) and gave her a terrible time and I could tell it hurt her feelings the way they treated her. Still she tried to give respect and handle the situation the best she could yet they still were terrible to her. Afterwards she pulled herself together to take me and my family’s order. This is to Sydney. You’re great, amazing, and such a sweetheart. Great. Great work. Next time I’m in town, hope to see you again. With better customers and a smile. Five stars for Sydney!!!
Excellent as always! Free praline samples, tons of chocolate and nut treats. They also have any type of candy you can think of by the pound and also great gelato and milkshakes😋😋😋
You know what it is! Its everything I remember from 30 years ago! Dont be fooled by the other store on River St. This is the Supreme Praline Champion of Savannah, period. They have everything from fudge, candied apples, taffy, icecream and gelato.
Great little tourist attraction. Didnt have any photos. Too busy making purchases
Omg I just came from here today! shoutout to Sydney for her outstanding work and making be feel comfortable. I suffer with social anxiety and her energy really helped me make my decision amidst the jam-packed market place.
Store was neat, but I was sold moldy chocolate covered strawberries. 2 of the 4 strawberries I bought for my one year old had mold on them by the stem.
Best praline..and caramel apple 🍎
Cool little place to stop in on River Street if you have a sweet tooth after dinner or drinks. Huge selection of candies and chocolates. I only looked at it all so I cant comment on if its any good lol. They were giving out samples, but unfortunately it had nuts and Im allergic. But neat looking place and already decorated for the season
Best pecan praline in svavnnah that we found.
Always a great experience when visiting. Friendly atmosphere with the urge to buy a lot of candy! 😂
Went in for ice cream and didnt disappoint.
Pralines are on point. Especially if you get them fresh/still warm!
If you have a sweet tooth and live candy and maybe a dip or two of ice cream and some other chocolate covered sweets, this is the place for you.
Our favorite stop, always smells amazing and the best customer service.
If you are candy lover then you will definitely enjoy it here.
We always visit River Street Sweets when we are close to Savannah. We love pecan pralines, fudge, and everything else they offer!!!
Super cute.... the jalapeño popcorn is delicious
The store had a great variety of sweets. I got the caramel apple. They also sell fudge, cookies ice cream, and more. Its a great dessert place.
One of the greatest candy stores Ive every been to. A must visit whenever Im in Savannah visiting family. Ive also purchased via their website and the quality was still great!
I love candy shops! They even have sugar free options. I got sugar free peanut butter cups and my son got a chocolate covered pretzel with miniature m&ms on it. My husband chose praline pecans. They have so much to choose from! They even have all kind of candy apples. Yummy!
2018-05-13 Sunday at 6pm. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED ‼️I bought one waffle cone with two scoops of butter pecan and bilberry ice cream. However my order was a lot smaller than the ladyn front of me who bought the same two scoops on waffle cone. As you see my photo, can you see two scoops? Did I get discriminated ? This is totally unacceptable! I have paid $5.89 for this small two scoops by certain lady??Below is the note about 30 minuets after I bought the ice cream. When I was having the ice cream and met two tourists stopped by and talked to me. They encouraged me to step back to speak with the manager. I spoke with the manager and she said sorry to me and gave me two options: 1. To give me one more two scoops of ice cream. 2. To refund the amount I paid. I chose getting refund because I was not happy to have their ice cream again. That’s my story today.
9-30-18 - In Savannah and River Street, and had go to my favorite candy store, especially for fresh Bear Claws, and Praline samples, River Street Sweets. Great service, samples, and the whole 9. And 1/2 pound free with the purchase of 1 pound was reason to get more. My daughter being with me caused me to have to get more candy. Many customers were there, and all were assisted with professionalism and courtesy. Some even better than others.4 Months Ago - My go to candy store on River Street. Fresh samples, bear claws, praline candy and more. When in Savannah have to stop here. Purchased a pound of bear claws for now and later. Courteous sevice and delicious samples.
Love the variety of things here,I have to stop EVERYTIME we come into town.
I can never come to Savannah and not stop by this place..its a must have😍
Really bad ice cream. Left a bad taste in mouth, powdery and freezer burnt taste. I just threw it out. Ice cream spilling out the sides which is really irritating and messy. Horrible location.
Everything was delicious a bit expensive 25.00 for 4 peices of fudge. Pralines and truffles were wonderful.
The chocolate and treats are good. But be careful because no prices are visible and I ended spending more money than I expected
It took forever for the young man to wait on me at the counter. Acted like he didnt like his job.
So many shops, so many smells, so Many people! Fun time that will satisfy all your senses! Lol!
Free samples galore, super friendly staff, and delightful experience!
Delicious little cookies. I wish Id taken a photo of the sample. Friendly workers, too.
Best candy store ever they have every candy you can think of
Cute traditional candy store. Loved their salt water taffy... so many flavors.
Sydney was such a sweetheart! She did an amazing job 🥰
It was a Absolutely Wonderful place to visit with all of Sweet Treats Delight (I Love Pralines 😊💕 and they did not disappoint me in the taste, quality and size) they also had wonderful customer service skills as well. 😊💕
My review is solely on the experience of entering the store and not on the taste of the treats offered. Social distancing was not enforced or followed when I entered this place. The lines were long and people were shoulder to shoulder. I had to leave without purchasing because it was so crowded. The three stars are for how delicious it all looked and smelled. It was just unfortunate I didn’t get to try any. I hope they come up with a better system to keep everyone safe in the future.
All the candy in the world. Very pricy though at $13.5 per lb. Would recommend the salt water taffy and the giant jawbreaker!
My favorite stop for pralines. What a treat.
Sweets for ones sweetie... always seem to find our way here when visiting..parlines.parlines.parlines..
I bought some candied apples and the plastic wrap adhered to the candy, not able to eat. Very disappointed.... had to throw them all away.
