Ehhhhh kinda pricey. Have definitely seen better truffles. For the price I thought they would have been fancier or painted better.....Ive seen prettier truffles at Disney. They didnt taste anything like they said they were. Peach was just white chocolate. Raspberry???? Wheres the Raspberry??? The help didnt know where the chocolate was from which irritated my partner since she is a chef.......just wasnt impressed
I never leave bad reviews but this is more to inform visitors of Savannah who decide to go here. Their products do not have weight labels on them. After telling the woman who worked there that I was wanting to buy their honey caramel sauce but hesitant due to airport security & not knowing the weight of it, she confidently told me it’s under 3 ounces & caramel is not a liquid. After questioning the liquid comment since tooth paste over 3.4 ounces is confiscated at airport security, she assured me it would not be confiscated. I trusted her since there were no weight labels. Guess what. It was abruptly confiscated ($30 wasted.) The TSA guy told me “this is way over 3 ounces & not even a question.” I called her back, she apologized, & I asked for a refund or replacements. She said she would talk to her boss. I never heard back from her. I called back multiple times & it went straight to voicemail which was full. It’s been about a month. So, travelers beware & trust your gut instincts when shopping here.
Tacky customer service at the Charleston SC location . Plan on bringing your own box . The chocolates are beautiful in appearance . We picked out nine of them . I would have loved to present them to my family in a box . The cashier insisted on splitting nine chocolates between two small cellophane bags . He even turned down my request for a third bag and claimed he could not give me more than two . Disappointed that he found it sensible to explain over a bare tray of chocolates that he is the artisans husband, but could notsupply a box for her craft .
We live in Savannah and we have gone many times since Chocolat opened to shop for ourselves as well as for gifts. We have never gotten great service but today about pushed me over the edge. My husband and myself were treated terribly by the older lady for no reason. I won’t go into details but I won’t be going back after today! I have just recovered from brain surgery and Covid. So after 3 months of a health crisis I thought we could get out to have lunch and support local businesses. Our experience there was extremely upsetting and I actually had to walk outside(twice)to get away from her as my husband paid the 100:00 for a bunch of chocolate thrown into a plastic bag??? I’m guessing this lady must be family in order to get away with such behavior. Obviously, they don’t need my business but I think its important for the owner to know how customers are treated.... once again. It seems to be a pattern with her when reading the reviews. Unfortunately, I will be putting my money into a local business that treats people kindly and I doubt Chocolat owners care. #benice
The best chocolate I have ever eaten! I dont think I have ever had real chocolate before this. I cant even begin to describe the salty sweet wonderful taste. Run dont walk and get you some!
Its always nice to see creative, innovative local cuisine and shops- its what makes a community stick out and of course, its always a pleasure to consume well-made chocolates. Visually stunning and delectable and luscious chocolates that you will certainly not find elsewhere in a visually interesting store. Indulge and enjoy your self - thats why youre here.
Bought four different items and very disappointed on three of them... Almond bark was not as good as we could make at home using Ghiardelli chocolate chips... The Peach Truffle was no better than cake frosting rolled in pecans... And the homemade peanut butter outshined the dark chocolate cup it was in by far... The one item my wife declared was very good was the dark chocolate covered honey caramel bar which was individually wrapped... One of four is not a good average especially at 3 or 4 dollars a single piece...
The chocolates are delicious but the service was AWFUL! The old lady at the counter certainly is not meant to be in customer service. She makes you feel like your in a school run by nuns back in the day when it was ok to whip students. She made me feel like she was about to slap me with a ruler! lol Seriously this lady is awful and after reading other reviews I can see I’m not the only one with a bad experience with this women. Obviously the owner must not be reading reviews nor cares that his business customer service rep is this mean women. As a business owner I would be mortified to have an employee like this women treating my clients the way she does. She greets you with a blank stare like you are bothering her for walking into the store and bothered that you are spending money. She needs to retire and do something that will bring her joy.
We were told this was a store we definitely needed to visit. We walked in & the old woman behind the counter acted like we were bothering her. My child has cinnamon allergies I asked her if all ingredients were listed on the signs, she rudely told me to read them without answering my question. A younger lady walked in from back of store & said signs displayed all ingredients. We made sure my child with allergies did not place any of her choices near her siblings trays. Once at the register I again told the older woman this child has an allergy please place her items in a separate bag she rudely told me she heard me the 1st time.... Then she bagged all items together in 1 bag!!!! To keep our child safe we walked away from a $200 sale for this store!
Ouch! I just left this place. Experience with same old woman was terrible she was rude and unwelcoming.Although I have had lovely experiences in the past at the other location, my money will be more enjoyably spent in an business employing pleasant professions also rather than a surly shop person oh well another wonderful place laid to rest by snarkful staffing.
Outrageously overpriced and not that good at all. Go to Walgreens and buy a snickers and milky way in the musketeers bar youll do better.
Exquisite chocolates, packaged delightfully. Talk about wow factor🖌 P.S. Since writing this review, I ordered gifts for quite a few friends. They all were delighted with these most delicious chocolates‼️
Such a beautiful store, so full of character. The chocolates were excellent, the store was tastefully laid out with much thought given to a pleasing shopping experience.
This store is an incredible journey into the decadence of some of the best chocolate youll ever have. What is better than art you can eat? .
The chocolates are fantastic but I would not recommend using them for corporate gifts. We used them to send Christmas gifts to 40 clients and there were so many mis-spellings in the names on the shipments. Their communication post-sale was also incredibly poor which is disappointing. I had to send the address for our biggest customer 3 times and they still didnt ship it.
We went to the Bull St on the afternoon of August 14. The young man behind the counter barely acknowledged us when we walked in. My fiancé asked him how we should go about navigating the place and with attitude he responded something like “you pick the chocolates and put them in the box.” On top of that, he was blasting the worst top 40 music - not what you’d expect for a “high-end shop with a luxurious vibe.” We ate our chocolates and he cashed us out, all the while keeping one ear bud in his ear. We were happy to get out of there.
I love all the chocolates here! Superb!! The finest chocolate with surprises in each piece! Ive had chocolates in Belgium and these compare!!! Love the boxes also..so special!
This place was incredible!! The aesthetic is so beautiful. The whole store is set up like the home library of my dreams with chocolates hidden amongst the books. The chocolates themselves are absolutely delicious. I had the spicy truffle and the red velvet. They also ship nationwide. My Christmas shopping is done. Absolutely recommend.
The the look of the store, especially the interior, was gorgeous. The very expensive chocolates were fairly good. I figured I’d spend that much money at least once to try them. However, as many other reviews have stated the older sales lady almost made me just turn around & leave. She was not welcoming & was actually pretty snooty, as if she didn’t have or want to take the time to wait on us. I’m surprised after all the complaints from everyone else about this rude lady, that something hasn’t been done by hiring more polite, courteous help.
Enticing aroma lured us into this cute shop set up like a library. Each piece was artfully created. This is where my compliments stop. The mature female behind the counter was very rude to one of us and the chocolates were not as tasty as I have had elsewhere.
On our last day of vacation in Savannah we visited the Bull St location...it was a fabulous experience both from an artistic standpoint and customer service! The chocolate is the most delicious ever and the artistry of presentation is well worth a visit. We bought several varieties as gifts...I know they will be appreciated!
Loved it! So cute and delicious!
The woman at the front desk as you walk in was very unpleasant an actually acted as though we were bothering her. The place was beautiful and while I was in there buying chocolate was very uncomfortable . You would think in such a unique chocolate shop they would have a friendly staff ? I would not go back
Unbelievable chocolates. The space itself is so fun - youll love the playful touches like the grass floors and antique furniture hosting decadent treats. Thank goodness they offer online ordering so we can get chocolate shipped!
Eloquent, artisan chocolate that is thoughtfully hand-crafted to perfection. Each truffle is different, but has its own representation of Georgia and the South to me. By far, the best is not even the chocolate, its the caramel sauce. Adam Turoni and his team are brilliant. (I get chocolate from here all the time; my wife works here, omg what a dream!)
Cheer up, staff could be a little more social. Hope the owner isnt a jerk to them.
I was visiting my son and since my daughter in law works in Savannah it made it easy for us to come here. What Exceptional service! The lady who helped us gave excellent suggestions for some of the most incredible chocolates ever! If you get a chance, Try the Creme Brule! !
As you wander around, selecting pristinely crafted, beautiful chocolates and placing them delicately on a silver platter, you cant help but enjoy yourself. The shopping experience in this absolutely charming boutique is something special. Youll wait impatiently for the moment to try your carefully selected delights, and with no distractions so you can fully appreciate the moment, you finally taste your prize. Thats when you realize you overpaid for the experience, not the chocolate.Im sure many people enjoy Adam Turonis vision of the ideal chocolate treat, however myself and my party of 5 were completely underwhelmed by the flavors and found the texture, while smooth, a bit too thick. We could find only minimally positive things to say, the most common of which was that the peanut butter filling was tasty.
The sea-salt chocolates are way too chunky. Such a shame.
A very High End Designer Chocolate Boutique with lots of unusual flavor profiles to suit every taste...pricey...but worth every penny!!
The older woman behind the counter at Bull Street was incredibly rude to us and treated us like we were lower than the dirt beneath her shoe. One of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had. Do not go- the chocolate is just ok, it is overpriced and it’s not a welcoming atmosphere at all.
So classy. The chocolates are so beautiful that I almost (almost) dont want to eat them. Beautifully crafted!
Nancy was so kind and helpful. This place is wonderful.
Chocolate was very nice.Adams shoppe has a very sweet book that allows you to put truffles into it. Heres the thing, the older women there was rude and not helpful. We spent close to $200.00 in the store and she was completely annoyed with us. Simple questions about the book selection choices and information about the truffles were a huge inconvenience for her.Adam, shame on you, read your reviews!I am so disappointed with your staff.
I had high hopes for this because of the accolades that southern magazine gave them, but I was disappointed in all of the truffles I bought. The chocolate tasted like they did not temper it correctly and overcooked it. I had purchased several of their truffles and each one had that same over cooked taste. I am sorry for the bad review but I expected a higher quality product.
I am impressed with the store set ups and decor but not impressed with their staff. I bought 10 sets of chocolate as Christmas gift and the staff is not experience meeting customers expectation on seasonal wrapping! He also dropped chocolate on the floor.
Great experience! Lots of unique and variety of truffles. Loved the local connections made with the recipes.
Nothing special. Tiny peices and expensive. I bought $50 worth to enjoy with a friend and it was bagged in a cellophane bag and not even a box. $5 would be the cost to put my chocolates in a plain black box. Put it this way...not Swiss chocolates craftmanship but some were decent and tasty and some were plain. Skip the Baileys truffle, it wasnt good at all. The service was ordinary. I asked what do you suggest and the reply was - All written out on the tags. Ugghh...I should have walked out then. Skip it... go to whole foods instead in Savannah. Probably better selection and definitely cheaper.
Love love ❤ luv their 🍫. My faves their milk & dark choc peanut butter cups with sea salt. The honey comb. Mint Julep derby fave. The Oxacan bon bon. And the caramel in a jar.
Better than any chocolate I had in Paris. Really good fresh creations here!
I went to the Bull street location today and had a terrible experience. I picked out my chocolates and went up to the counter to pay. When I got up there the lady behind the counter was blowing her nose. I figured she would put on gloves before handling my chocolate but no she didnt. She picked up unwrapped chocolates with tongs and then picked up wrapped chocolates with her bare hands and put them in the same bag with unwrapped candies. It was so gross! When I asked for my money back and explained the situation she argued with me! SHE VIOLATED GEORGIA STATE HEALTH CODES AND THEN DIDNT WANT TO RETURN MY CHOCOLATE! I was so upset I was shaking. I would never go back.
Very French. Chocolate is beautiful... variety is there... as is the service. Not cheap, but not ridiculously high.
Delicious, gorgeous chocolate
We have traveled the world and had the pleasure of experiencing some of the finest chocolates, Chocolate By Adam Turonis do not compare. Their confections at 2.75 each are greatly over priced. We purchased one of each, all were mediocre at best, the honey sea salt caramel though tasty, were grainy. NOT worth the dollars spent. I think the monies spent is more for the shops atmosphere which is simply adorable, but not for the quality of the candies. In addition, the staff is aloof. One final note, when spending 65.00 on candies, I dont expect to be told I can purchase a tin for 2.75 to store them in other wise they put them in a .02 cent cellophane bags.. Its a shame that they hype such establishments, swelling the head of the owner into thinking he is some sort of Willy Wonker on Bull Street.
Went to visit on a Wednesday. Googled the open hours, checked out. Paid for parking and the place had a note on the door saying closed- Be Back Soon! Darn! We went other places downtown since we had paid for 1 hour parking and came back and still closed. My advice-Call ahead and make sure someone is going to be there.
If you love chocolate then you need to stop by Chocolat. Its expensive but once you taste the chocolates you wont care how much it was. This is chocolate art!
Do not shop at this store as they discriminate against people of color. I had a terrible experience at the Bull Street store. I called the owner and when I explained to her what happened and how I felt, she was not sympathetic to how I felt. Terrible experience!
Stopped in and we bought some chocolates, it was amazing.
Beautiful hand made chocolate!
The chocolate is very pretty, but not very tasty. Their golden bees make great gifts.
Looks so fancy and cool. Good chocolate but really expensive.
Beautiful chocolates, beautiful place. Make sure you have enough money to spare because youll buy more than you expect.
Incredible chocolaterie, loved the decor and unique ambiance! Chocolates were expensive, but worth the indulgence.
Loved the chocolates. The best I had. Enjoyed them a lot.
The chocolates variety is incredible although expensive, Definitely worth the cost.
Adams milk chocolate peanut butter cups have spoiled me rotten.Best chocolatier ever!
All I have to say is OMG! We just stopped by and it was amazing!!! We will be back soon!!!
The atmosphere is very pleasant and cute. The young man working knew a lot about the chocolates and was exceptionally kind and funny.
Beautiful displays of edible art and delicious too!
Great service, delicious, good selection.
Sea salt almond dark chocolate 🍫! 👍👍
The BEST chocolate we all have ever had!!! We will be going back before we head back home !! Staff was nice too!!
Cool store and unique chocolates
Amazing store concept with incredible chocolates!
Went there March of 2016, it was a great experience, the store and the chocolates, enjoyed them both immensely.
We spent too much but we regret nothing lol
