I cant express how professional JV and his team are at their business. The main office is spotless and the shop is organized and clean. I promptly received a easy to read quote both email and text. The pricing was very fair. The turn around time was faster than expected. My Mercedes is running back to normal and my convertible top is fully functional again. I highly recommend German Cars or Sarasota and will continue to have them service my cars.

Took my Mini to German Cars with a whole array of ailments. They thoroughly looked it over and gave me an estimate to fix everything. It was expensive, but I was expecting that. What isnt expensive to fix on a Mini?! Their repair costs were cheaper than the dealership price quote, and they did a great job. They fixed everything it needed (and it was a lot of stuff!) and got me back on the road in three days! J.V. was very respectful, understanding, and considerate. I felt like they truly cared that I was happy and that everything got fixed correctly. Definitely will use them for all my Mini services.

Anyone that owns a Mini needs to go to German Cars of Sarasota. We have a 2005 and a after several expensive visits to a dealer, our neighbor told us about these guys. They quickly identified the problem (very minor) and fixed it at a very reasonable rate. We have always been very pleased with their knowledge, straightforward answers and explanations at a very reasonable rate. The A/C stopped cooling and they charged it up, saying then that there might be a small leak. Months later, they were right. Replaced the condenser. Since they just charged the A/C not too long before, they wanted to credit the cost of the fluid. Like I stated, very reliable and special people.

I had a battery issue and my experience was 100% better than what I experienced at the dealer I usually go to. They were quick, forthright, and offered two options to resolve the issue that were both great. Very satisfied.

Theres not many words that can express my gratitude towards the guys at German Cars of Sarasota. I called the shop one depressing afternoon after my baby(car) was flooded. My car had zero sign of life, and it was pretty evident I needed a new engine. After being turned down by various other shops, my hopes were depleting as I started to think it may not even be worth saving. Lee from German Cars answered my phone call and issued me some relief. They accepted to take on the extensive job and were able to handle everything through insurance. This was the beginning of a very long journey as there was no straight path to completion. Multiple things went wrong, many people were uncooperative, and the add-on of an “covid” environment surely did not better the situation. However, through it all and a couple months of time, my car was brought back to life. Theres not much of a larger job you can ask of a technician/mechanic than an engine replacement. Especially an engine that went for a swim. A job that could have easily cost >50k and could have potentially totaled my car, ended up costing around half that. I tried not to be up Lee’s butt as much as I can, but I could not have asked for a better communicator as he kept me informed every step of the way. Rex, Sean, and the rest of team are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, as they clearly know what they are doing. I am extremely grateful and happy that I have a team of guys that I know I can rely on. Seriously. THANK YOU GUYS!

BMW wanted to charge us 3700 to replace the fuel pump and sensor. German Cars did it for 1006, they were professional, and they did in in less than a day. These are my go to guys now for our car.

I went here to see about getting my AC compressor replaced. I told them the AC compressor broke and even had the piece that broke off with me, I still had to pay a $135 diagnostic fee for them to tell me what I already knew and what I already told them about. Then they quoted me over $2,000 dollars for the repair which is outrageous. Not only that but, the parts quotes were extremely high. The AC compressor they quoted me for was $768 and the AC drier was quoted for $246. I took my car back and found the same exact OE parts for $295 and $25, respectively online. Theres no valid reason for that enormous price difference for the same OE parts. I would not recommend this shop to anyone who values their money, they are a rip off.

Ive had my cars serviced here on at least 4 occasions and the last 2 visits have been less than satisfactory. Previous one was for a battery replacement and, having booked in advance, I arrived to find they hadnt obtained the battery so had to wait as they searched and found one in another location. This time I booked for service and since I dont have a ride, I confirmed I would wait, as I have done on previous occasions. I turned up to find they were very busy and said the needed the car for the better part of the day which since I didnt have a pick up, didnt work for me. They denied that I had said Id wait. In the words of the owner Im 100% sure that if you said you would wait it would be written downThink about that for a moment. He was essentially saying that, not only did I not specify Id wait when I booked, but also he knew for a fact that the person doing the booking wouldnt have said anything about how long they would need the car. He also knows the scheduler wouldnt have asked whether I would be waiting or returning later and wouldnt have pointed out that, if I didnt say Id wait, they would assume low priority and the car wouldnt be available until late in the day? How likely is it that the scheduler would be so incompetent as to say none of those things? Mistakes happen and it would have been acceptable if the owner simply said there had been a mix up without assigning blame. Instead he basically called me a liar.

I would rate 10 stars if I could. My parents have brought their cars in over the years and now I am, too. You can expect a professional, clean, and honest experience every time, making a less than enticing situation much more pleasurable. The guys are awesome and will go above and beyond to help. I couldnt trust them any more than I already do with my BMW. German Cars of Sarasota, I owe a huge thank you to your outstanding service, every time.

Driving my sl 55 amg to sarasota, I developed a serious problem with my ABC pump in southern alabama. after 2 to MB dealers, I continue to add fluid to the system to keep car running. My son contacted YL at german cars and he knew exactly what the problem was. I drove the car directly there, they helped arrange a rental vehicle, took me to Enterprise, and fixed my vehicle working overtime to get my car done before I flew back home.Trustworthy, honest, reliable, professional; all these embody how I feel about German Cars of Sarasota.They definitely have a new lifetime customer in me and I highly recommend them

Very great service I brought my BMW X3 to flush brake fluids very good price for it. 2 weeks after that my car had thermostat issue I took it into German Cars and they found that my car still had manufactured warranty for the thermostat and that I could get it for free at the BMW dealer, they were kind enough and very honest to let me know about my warranty. I would definitely bring my X3 to German Cars of Sarasota for my car services (oil change etc). Very Professional would recommend. Thank you 🙏🏻

Stay away! Unable to diagnose BMW 535i turbo performance issues. Charged me over a thousand dollars for their mechanics to experiment on my dime and it was never resolved.

Rex and is team at German Cars of Sarasota were an absolute pleasure to work with! They came highly recommended by a friend, so I drove down from St. Pete and brought in my 2018 Mercedes GLC 43 AMG for a tune, and I couldnt be happier with it! From the communication, to the quality of service, the pricing, the turn-around time -- and just the entire experience all-around was PERFECT. My car is now 75hp faster and the tune also added 105+ lb/ft torque, so the only one complaining is my wife when I gun it onto the I-275 ramp and she gets minor whiplash now. :)Thanks Rex and staff!

Very, very disappointed. I had been referred here by 2 different people (1 business and 1 individual). The experience started out great and I thought I had found a good group to work with.That is, until I went to pick the car up. Theyre pricing was slightly below the dealer, but I didnt mind because everyone seemed to be on the ball. When picking the car up I was surprised to find that my bill was $120 more than I was told the repair would be.Obviously, I questioned the $120 and was told it was because they had to check out the car. Ive never paid to have a car inspected, but i do understand that as a business that they can charge whatever they want. The issue is that you need to disclose this up front. You cant just stick a charge at the end.They kept the fee on and wouldnt take it off, despite not telling me. Ive let both referral sources know how I was treated and they will no longer be sending customers to this business. I hope deceptively taking $120 was worth it.

If you own a Mercedes or a BMW and live in Sarasota or Manatee County, you’re in luck because you have an honest and skilled shop to maintain and repair your car. I would think twice about owning a BMW or a Mercedes if German Cars weren’t around to service them. I take my cars there for everything from the routine — regular maintenance or a tire alignment — to the more unusual and specialized like replacing the electronics when a jug of antifreeze breaks open and floods them. The prices are reasonable, and the people — Rex, Lee and Sean — are friendly and excellent at explaining what needs to be done. I’ve been a customer for several years, and I don’t anticipate that changing as long as I drive a German car.

When the dealership gave me a repair quote of $15,000 I cried. I called Rex at German Cars and he calmly told me he would do whatever he could to help me. Rex and crew did thorough diagnostics, and determined the many of the repairs the dealership suggested were not necessary. I was an out-of-town visitor when my 2008 BMW 328i began to act sporadically.After contacting two other highly rated repair shops, I was advised to contact these folks. I called and spoke with one of the managers, Rex. He indicated he would try to fit me in if I brought the car in. 1/2 hour after arriving my car was in the shop. Shortly after that they had it diagnosed and had a repair scenario. Everything went better than expected and I would highly recommend this shop for any any repair on any European car.As I waited for my repair to be completed, I heard Rex speaking with several clients on the phone where he gave honest information about what and when he could make repairs.

This is THE BEST place I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with! They were extremely prompt, friendly, professional, and took care of my car like I take care of it. No grease, mudges or “shop” issues. They had my car repaired and on the road in 3 hours!!!!!! They also saved me $1800 for my repair versus going to the dealer. They are a true find! Two days ago we started out to do shopping and our 2004z4 would not start.During these trying times we are going through it is difficult to get services you need because of the emergency state we are in.I have been servicing my BMW with German Car and was always happy with their response. Once again they came through and really went out their way to get me going.Rex came to my buildings parking garage on the 6th floor with diagnostic tools and anew battery if needed. He replaced the battery and solved the problem. This is not the usual service they offer this is beyond the call of duty. Thanks

They fixed all the issues that the 2013 BMW X3 that I brought that the previous owner didnt disclose. Running great and dont have to worry about the oil change for one year. We no longer have our BMW. This review is based on past experience and they deserve time spent to offer a 100% positive review. Honesty and integrity is something they value. Please do yourself a good measure by checking them out. Service was always on time and professional. They recognize the importance of fair value with excellent service. MINI Cooper S (R56) with long history of supposed ECU issue (previously got a new one) spark plugs immediately dying, and more bull while in GA. Finally came back to FL and found this place. They were able to fix issues, found that our former mechanic was wrong, and left feeling so relieved that I can drive without worrying anymore!

It doesnt get any better than these guys. My husband has had his 03 Mini-Cooper S serviced there twice. He insisted I post his experience. The Staff and Mechanics were great. Unlike both dealerships in the area he wasnt treated like a rube for having an older vehicle and harassed about trading it in for a NEW vehicle. They were informative, helpful, and gave him advice that lowered his cost and did a fantastic job in a timely manner. The property, garage, and waiting area are just as upscale as a dealership, without the snobbery. Located in a nice, safe area. Oh, and an oil change is less money than at a chain store run by untrained minimum wage employees. Try them. Youll leave happy and become a regular like we have.

When we moved to FL we searched for an independent shop that had the expertise to service our BMW properly, a good reputation and qualified mechanics. What a professional team! Its never fun when your car needs to go in for a repair, but having someone to take it to that you know you can trust and will be honest with you makes it so much easier...thats hard to find! My BMW is 15 years old so having a place to take it to when it needs attention is important. I went to two other foreign car repair shops with less than satisfactory results before I found this one....these guys are top notch!

1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL, 59,000 miles. This car was recently serviced at another German car specialist in Sarasota not to my satisfaction. Brought the car to German Cars of Sarasota and just picked it up this afternoon. Rex and his team are great diagnosticians. Found the problems and repaired them quickly and at what I consider a fair price. I also have a list of items that need to be addressed and made an appointment to go back next month and get this classic into shape. I would not hesitate to recommend German Cars to anyone who needs service.

These guys are the best. Period. Rex, Lee and the crew run a clean, expert shop with integrity and grace. I trust them with all of my cars, mostly German muscle cars -- performance machines where their track experience and integrity are invaluable. I have to check myself sometimes, for wanting to bring cars from other states to have them work on them. But its all good. I sleep easy at the end. Rexs view is, Well if you insist on driving the cars all around the US ... this is what I would do if it was my car. And I so insist. So yeah, trust these guys.

I own a 2007 BMW 335Ci with only 27k miles on it. The engine started to make an awful noise. Turns out a bearing for the crankshaft was failing. Why a bearing would fail in a car with only 27k miles is a long story. Suffice is to say I will never have my car serviced at an official BMW dealer ever again. I dealt with Lee. He and his team did a great job diagnosing the problem and its probable root cause. Then they found a solution that was thousands of dollars less expensive than the local BMW dealer. The car runs great now. We will only go the German Cars of Sarasota for service from now on.

Knowledgeable staff and cheaper than B M W dealers

Last week I was out running errands and my 328i wouldnt start. I was aware of German Cars but hadnt used them, and the AAA tow truck driver suggested them as a nearby option. They were extremely busy but somehow made time for me with no appointment. They have Hertz rentals at a great price, and I drove one away within an hour. The very next day my car was ready, and it started up like brand new. The service was extremely helpful and empathetic, the price surely beat the dealership, and the quality of work will bring me back again the next time my car needs service. These guys are great.

Awesome place to have your vehicle fixed

Lee Miller and crew did an excellent job analyzing what my MB SLK 3.2 X-Fire needed for the 60K checkup. They kept the car 2 days and replaced 12 spark plugs, changed the transmission with MB fluid, checked belts and filters, changed the coolant (after keeping the car overnight so the aluminum block would be cold) and not damage the engine.In short they did a very professional job at a fair price and the vehicle runs like it was brand new! Very pleased and will use them for servicing this car.

Take all my Beemers, 328 and 535 to German Cars for repair because of their prompt, reasonable cost service. Good Guys! I hear they will start working on Mini Coopers so my wifes car will be going there for service as well.

It’s a pleasure working with these guys.Why? Because they’re honest and reasonable.Example: I had an AC issue. They ordered both a blower motor and a separate resistor/regulator, as is customary with most vehicles. They explained the charges and fixed my AC. We have been taking our German autos there for years. We know Rex and crew will do whats needed and not make up a laundry list of unnecessary work. Trust AND quality arent an easy combo to find with auto repair. Bravo!

Had AC fan problem with my 2014 Mini Countryman. Car was under warranty and after 12 days at authorized mini dealer service was told that there was nothing wrong with my car. I contacted German Cars of Sarasota and spoke with Lee. Set up immediate service and within 20 minutes they diagnosed the problem. Couldnt rate any higher for vehicle service and customer service. I will NEVER go back to authorized dealer for service now that I have found German Cars of Sarasota.

Total RIP off and dishonest.. you are very dishonest, your worker told me I needed a new housing for bulb, went somewhere else, the bulb was just loose. You gave me a price and ordered a part, when I had part put in, the price was doubled . You use the same lines in your reviews. DISHONEST.$427 for vehicle diagnosis and shut off valve on 6/14 and on 6/16 engine light is back on, had wheel alignment in April, told them its pulling to right, they wanted me to pay for another one. Total RIP total sham

I had a difficult electronics issue with my 3 Series BMW they solved. The gentlemen at German Cars of Sarasota were very responsive, polite and professional. I know that they had numerous (more than 20) hours of diagnostic time in my car due to the nature of the problem but only charged me for a fraction of the time.They even ended up getting a $1500 ECM for my car covered by BMW under an obscure warranty!Did I mention they drove my car to the dealer to have BMW do it under warranty since I was out of town?Great service, fair pricing and an all around 5 star experience!

I recently moved to the Lakewood Ranch area.My check engine light came on and I wanted a diagnostic test done. I called around and it wasnt easy finding anyone who could do it and the dealer wanted me to wait one week just for an appointment. I called German Cars of Sarasota and Tyler said to come right over. They immediately took my car in, ran the test and fixed the problem, for a very fair price..I will recommend German Cars any chance I get and will also use their services in the future.Thank you so much guys!
