This is one of the best hardware stores in Santa Fe. There are always knowledgable staff to help and the store is well organized. I wish they had lumber and construction materials so I could avoid the home centers all together.

Small town tool store feel, very helpful. Found my hardware without issue. Slightly less stock variety in the nuts & bolts area than ACE, but more breadth to their other supplies.

I will never go to home depot again! The staff was so friendly and helpful and even fun and engaging with my kids. We got the perfect paint color for our new school desk and was in and out in the time it wouldve taken me to find a parking spot at home depot! Skip the big box hardware stores and come here!

I used to go to this store to support local business in my home town. I called needing a chair for an elderly man in Santa Fe (Mr. Dalton) who has built hundreds of houses in Santa Fe and probably with materials from this business. At 3:55 on Saturday (I know it was almost closing) but several customers were in the store. Anyway I called to ask if they had a particular chair. The young man who answered said they did but would be closing soon. I told him I was a block away and would be right there...when I arrived, I was met by an employee who used his body as a barricade as if I was going to rob the place. I explained I just need a chair and had called a few minutes ago....He continued to be rude and pulled a shade. I will drive to Espanola before I go here again. Pretty sad, no care for the locals anymore.

I thought stores like this disappeared decades ago. There is no other place like it. None. Kind, helpful, knowledgable and friendly staff. Every single one of them. They understand what you want, take you to it, offer suggestions and send you to the cashier with a smile and thank you. The cashiers are friendly . You walk out feeling like you stepped back in time but in a great way. Fabulous place. Do yourself a favor and dont go anywhere else.

Much easier to navigate than Home Depot. There is always a person to help you find what you need or answer questions. Always. They have a good selection too. This is my go-to hardware store when I need a few specific things.

I own a custom cabinet shop just around the corner from Big Jos Hardware. My business requires me to visit a hardware store at least once a week. I have such a busy schedule that spending 45 min at a big box store is not an option. When you walk into Big Joes you are approached by a Big Jos employee, if you need a hand just tell them what you are looking for and, bam, they show you right to it. It saves me a considerable amount of time to shop at Big Jos, and they only stock quality stuff. Big Jos Rocks ! I have since sold my business and moved, having said that Big Joes is still the best Hardware store in town!

These people are so incredibly helpful. I went to Home Depot first, got no help on a simple project and left Home Depot thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. It occurred to me to go try Big Jo. I didnt even think they would help. But they did! And they fixed the problem for $2. Please shop here - we need to keep places like this in business.

Just a great hardware store with lots of employees to help with the many questions we suddenly get when opening the door of a hardware store!

This is a store that provides individual attention to customers and their needs. As a woman and an individual without much mechanical knowledge, I often find myself bewildered at the choices in a hardware store. Ive purchased the wrong product and Ive paid too much. At Big Joes in Santa Fe, I can phone the store with a question and get an expert answer. If I go to the store uncertain of what I need, there is always someone who will listen as I describe the problem, then offer a solution or several solutions. Everything Ive bought here from electric fans to paint and sealants has performed as promised. I wish we had more retail establishments like this.

They provide great service by meeting customers at the door. The owner allows local SF organizations to provide carwashes on Saturdays. Today it was the Boy Scouts.I try to go by for the carwash whenever possible.
