The store is hard to shop. They have a lot of product. The prices are okay. The employees are nice and helpful.

Convenient but stocking issues combined with higher prices and shelves that need sorting may have you wishing you hadnt wasted your time.

Always super-nice and helpful staff to assist you if youre unsure of what youre looking for - like me every time I go. 🤪 If you need keys made, its quick and easy and done with a smile. Cant beat that kind of service. Always a pleasure.

One of the best experience I have had at a hardware store in a very long time. There were two very young helpful employees who had helped me find what I needed. Who’s name were Jennifer and Jose, I hope they get their recognition they deserve. I will definitely be coming back and hope my needs are helped like the ones today.-Lawrence

Amazing people! As soon as I took a few steps in, this lady by the paint department offered to help and took me exactly where I had to go. I had a few questions and she never rushed me. The two cashiers the one with the hat and the other one with the braids were funny and full of jokes. This visit made my day!

No one was helpful I asked them, hey can you take a look at this? And replied with, like well I dont know.. but it should be down at the end of the store Im like I have no idea what Im doing thanks!

They didnt know were there items are they need to smile in stead of acting to cool it will feel more inviting they all seem to dislike there jobs its really not that bad they got the ac last time I go in there that energy is draining

If youre looking for service go to Big Jos Hardware. 4 grumpy male employees in the front chatting, took three times to get any help. Shelf empty for merchandise I was looking for. Was told truck coming in on Monday. Went to other end of aisle to leave and saw piles of it with with no price. Asked a 4th time to get someone with scanner. Last time I will use this store. Will always go further distance to Big Jos.

Only home improvement in town with good variety of chainsaws. Found exactly what we needed.

I tested him in everything I can think of and I tell you what... He deserves a raise! Lots of knowledge and wasted talent him working there but you should be glad to have him. Had what I was looking for nice

If you are in this area and have a need for some supplies, this store is adequate. The people that work here are not always attentive. Sometimes they would rather talk with each other than show you where the items are that you have asked about. Is it laziness or just disinterest? Pricing is fair.

Selection of small plumbing fittings is very spotty. Couldn’t find a simple toilet inlet washer or a small hose clamp. Clerk was friendly and attentive but he couldn’t find something they don’t stock.

Very helpful with my painting needs.

The last 4 times Ive been here I had to wait while the employee I was asking instructions from finished their non work related conversation, followed by a very rude non professional greeting, and summary directions toward the aisle they think the product Im looking for is on. It feels like they are angry with me for asking them basic customer questions, and unwilling to do what other hardware stores are willing to do for their customers. 4 times, Im not exaggerating. Ace is usually very customer oriented, but not this one for whatever reason. I live here in Santa Fe, and I wont be going back any time soon for any reason. Lowes and Home Depot are a heartbeat away, and if I cant find what Im looking for there, theres always Amazon and the internet.

I’ve never been to this location and thought I’d try it out, safe to say I expected too much of this place. Sounds funny but “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks! “ But unfortunately that wasn’t the case! Their are so many employees working but never asked if I needed help.. I had to run to find help multiple times. The staff at the registers just chatting away..I also would like to say how rude the staff was to an older women! She came up to ask for help and the cashier started rambling off numbers as to where she could find the items she needed! When she asked again for someone to physically come help another employee said YES! Someone will be right there, poor women just walked away. Then you’re lovely employee said GOD I told her already I’d be right there! Wow! No wonder why it’s easy to replace workers with a self check out! This was by far the worst trip!

I find a lot of things in this hardware store that I do not find elsewhere. They have the best variety of mousetraps, and their kitchen department carries items I have trouble finding. I always bought several Remember When birthday cards there, which friends and family have loved. Services workers are always friendly and helpful.

It took 25 minutes to to find what I wanted and four associates... Two who felt put out by my request and didnt know what was available. Finally David spent all day time needed to realize the part I wanted only came in a set for $27... There were numerous shortages of items... 2 of which I wanted... The check out staff were great...

Didnt have everything stocked and no real help

The worker here are so great! Super helpful! The cashiers are always so nice and helpful and always know where the stuff are. Came in here one time when they were about to close and they were super kind and had helped me get what I needed and didn’t rush me

Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean, well-lit store. They were out of a few items that were not Christmas related.

Store was dirty, and employees do not appear to go out of their way to help customers like other Ace stores Ive visited. Associates were chatting with each other while I had to approach them to ask for help. On a separate occasion, I made a phone call, and the person who answered the phone put me on hold after I asked about renting tools. No one ever came back to the phone. When I called back, the woman who answered the phone chuckled and said that they dont rent tools.

Went to thre store this am. and brought in a copy of an Ace ad . The ad advertised a table/fireplace.The price in the ad was 109.99. I called from in the parking lot and the man I talked to said they had it but I would have to come in to get it. Ok, went in and after speaking with 3 people they finally found the exact same item but with a different stock no. It was priced at 149.99 ! The manager told me I couldnt have that item because the sale item wasnt due in the store until summer. It was the same item they had in stock ! They had all kinds of excuses such as the adds are done 6 mths in advance, covid-19 had messed up stocks, blah blah. Did not offer me a rain check. People in this store are confused and disorganized. Very shoddy operation. Woman that answers phone unintelligible.

Customer Service at this store stinks

I was surprised and disappointed that several staff were not wearing masks. It is not possible to keep a distance of 6 feet when helping a customer find something. I felt at risk.I usually find what I want here, but I will not return until I know all staff are doing their best to protect customers and themselves.

This is the first ace hardware store I have been to where the employees were unfriendly and not willing to help a customer. Very sad. Always loved going to my local ace hardware store.

This store used to be my favorite for its more manageable size, but it has gone downhill. Three guys walked past me and didn’t ask if I needed help— I had to buttonhole them to get help which was grudging at best. Finally a young man helped me out and he was great. No garden spades though— in May! Don’t think I’ll go there again.

Pretty terrible, simple ask regarding a pipe fitting, without even looking he just said, no idea, look down one of these aisles. Then walked off. He had no mask or gloves on (all the other employees did) and he had just spent a good amount of time helping another customer (who had no mask or gloves). Wondered if this was some trumpian protest on distancing? I did have gloves & mask), rude in any case...

Helpful staff. Limited selection on what I needed (large mop bucket). Overall experience was pleasant. Cashiers were very polite!

This place is addicting, you need blinders when you go in. They always have what you need and then some. Their sales cant be beat, you will always find something you need.

Ace Hardware is conveniently located at the corner of Cerrillos Road and St. Michaels close to many other prime brick & mortar stores. The inventory is very good and the floorplan is well organized. Prices are competitive with the major big box warehouse behemoths like Lowes and Home Depot but the smaller scale of Ace Hardware makes shopping fast and efficient. The one area of improvement could be a more timely checkout experience. Slow cashier checkout seems to be a common place customer experience in New Mexico where nearly everyone is spaced out almost all the time. But, hey, the hardware sells itself.

If I could rate lower, I would. Floor staff is lazy and unhelpful and clerks are snappy for no reason. Employees are too busy socializing with eachother instead of the customers. Id go anywhere else.

Had my window screens done here. Good and fast service. Also good for oddball things you can’t find at big box stores.

I am very impressed with the quality of service and friendly nature of the staff at this Ace Hardware. The cashiers are always very polite and patient; Ive had the good luck to been helped by Vanessa quite a number of times, and she is always very professional, very friendly, efficient and polite.Ive been in hard goods retail sales and management positions since the late 70s and know how difficult customer service can be.Ive never had a single bad experience here in the 3 years Ive been back in SFe and trading with this location. I will continue to always go there first.

Nice place for most hardwares. Quicker in and out than HD or Lo__s. They have a surprisingly good variety of things and hard-to-find things like replacement items for older places. I wish I didnt have to go through this narrow, curved check out line. It sucks with big items. I have the Rewards card but have yet to benefit from it. I will still go here for most hardware things.

Every time I enter, one of the (initially) available staff at the front says hello, love it. Also, any time I come to find a bolt, screw or whatever, they have it. BUT, the second I enter the aisles, no-one is there to help me. For the higher-prices that they charge, I would expect Johnny-on-the-spot to be there. Not in this store, it never ever ever happens. Grrrr!

Service is lacking. Employees cant be bothered to ask if you want help, but can play grabass and laugh so loud you can hear them all over the store. Checkout girl was on the phone the whole time I was in front of her and never spoke a word to me. I guess she expected me to just walk out with my items in my arms until I made a gesture like a bag -- then she just handed me a folder paper bag. Didnt even offer to put my things in it. This store needs an employee training program emphasizing proper interactions with customers.

I love this store. Feels like olden times. Not overwhelming as the big box stores.Staff always knows where everything is, or are just one aisle off. They seem to have everything I ever need, the way a good hardware store should. Convenient hours open til 8pm weekdays and open weekends too, and conveniently located at St. Michels & Cerrillos. Ace is my favorite Santa Fe store.

Mucho better than home depot and lowes

This is the store you go to when you want those odd little things that you cant find anywhere else, not even Walmart. Window locks in a variety of styles at a very affordable price, those weird looking shelf screws that come with the self assembly shelves, and other things that you wouldnt expect. I also love the price and colors of the paints they carry.

I like shopping here because its a quick get what you need and out the door instead of looking through a huge store with so many isles and no one around to help

This is my favorite hardware store. Though I did encounter someone over the phone in the plumbing department who seemed they had no care in the world for the dept they worked in, told me it would take thirty minutes to answer a question about inventory

The folks of the Ace Hardware in Santa Fe by Petco were extremely friendly took the dog with me to Petco and had to go into Ace Hardware to get some stuff didnt want to leave him in the car with me so I brought him in and asked if it was okay they said thats perfectly fine you bring them in would much rather have them in here than in locked in a hot car so we went around and got all the stuff we needed and on our way out everybody wanted to pet him it was a very good experience I like this Ace Hardware

Great popcorn! Complete selection of nuts and bolts in Santa Fe. If you need a specialty O-ring, they have it. Not the best prices, but again, they have it.

The customer service here is fantastic. I like getting greeted by someone when I come in, they take me right where I need to go.

Still able to find washers and seals in single packs. Employees actually ask if you need help and walk you to items. Also found vacuum sealers and canning accessories.

Smaller hardware stores are more to my liking than the large wearhouse chains.
