One time the manager was working the register, which is already great, but they also gave me an amazing deal on some pens for absolutely no reason.
This place has gone way down hill. I would not recommend unless youre looking for a headache

Excellent service in the printing department. I am working on a photo transfer project and they were very helpful giving me advice and getting me the prints I needed. Inside is large, not crowded and operating in a safe manor during the shelter in place.
I was being helped by a woman named Karla at the printer services center. She was so helpful and very professional. Karla was able to help me with my invitations and keep her line from getting too long. I was very happy with my interaction with her and will be going back and asking for her to help me!!! Thanks for all of your help Karla, you are truly AMAZING!!!! 😀
I’m honestly not one to ever leave a bad review. I’ll only say positive things or I don’t bother but I’m astounded in this moment at how rude every customer service rep I just encountered was to us. Unbelievable. So rude and completely inappropriate. This place is whack. And overpriced too.
David the manager was MORE than helpful today. I ewas having problems with my printer. David spent time with me diagnosing..he was more than patient with me and my frustrations....thank you
This store used to be quite well run when Cliff managed it. It has really gone down hill professionally speaking and now they have a HUGE sign on the door that says No Public Restroom so I told the manager I wouldnt shop there anymore due to that and she pretended like it was broken and then said oh I can always open it for customers. Im done supporting businesses that are fine taking our money in Santa Cruz .... but totally fail as community members. That now means all of Gateway Plaza!!
I bought a REALLY BAD earphone there that sounded like a dying talking Elmo toy whispering its last breath into your ears.But, customer service gave me a full refund when I went back with the receipt. They were really quick and nice :)
Fantastic customer service, found exactly what i needed and they even helped point me in the right direction to someone who would deliver it to my house so there was no in store pick-up hassle!! I want to give credit to the asst. manager, Matt, because he is outstanding at his job, AND easy on the eyes.... What a bonus! ;)
I went in to this Office Max searching for two spiral bound, 8 x 11.5, graph paper notebooks with 100 pages. I came out empty handed, as, for the second time they did not have ANY graph paper notebooks. I was looking for two for my second semester math class, and I couldnt find them. I searched every aisle with numbers, and even those without, I looked on top of the shelves, asked the sales associate, and he referred me to aisle 9, which didnt have them. The first time this happened was the beginning of the year, which is more understandable since many people go to Office Max for school/work supplies, but when I asked then I was told they had just gotten a shipment. I had to look on top of the racks, and was able to find the last two notebooks. Im not saying that they arent a quality store, and having bought school supplies from there before I know they are, but I am saying that if you are going to call yourself an Office Max youd better have graph paper notebooks.
Very helpful staff ! I had them run copies of possible new business cards, they did so quickly and gratis.
Shop here about 6 times a year for past decade or so,Employees always extremely helpful and kind.The savings card is a farce but everyone knows it and its the resultof a mindless call from upper management not from anyone in this store.Great products @ fair prices. (Fair as in fair/unfair.)Stock sometimes gets a bit thin but still is there.Theres always room for improvement in every store in this quadrantof the galaxy. Should sell solar flashlights & Office Hammocks for thoseof us who work at home.

Everytime. Poorly organized staff with limited or no product knowledge. Hard to find and shelves poorly stocked.I put effort into buying from a store and am always depressed at my experience here, or at Staples for that matter.
Seems to be very expensive. I looked up the exact same on a item on Amazon and it was 1/3 the price. I walked out of the store and ordered it online
The office basics can be had here. If you need something right away they probably have what you need. If you need a good deal, try shopping online.

If you want office supplies in bulk, this is the place to go, unless its the week before school starts, in which case only parents and kids should go. Their printing and rubber stamp making services are also quite reasonable.
Doesnt do phone payments for curbside pickup.
I believe the Reps name at the printing area was Edgar. He went out of his way to assist me. For a return the counter Rep did as well. Thank you to both, and a few other staff on other occasions.

Good stock of items, quiet and sometimes difficult to get help but once enganged the staff is friendly and helpful. Conveniently located near Hwy 1.

Staff was very rude and unwilling to help clients...not truthfull. The manager night Manager was sarcastic and too young to have a responsibility of the position.
I bought my Acer Chromebook here and unfortunately it had an accident, and broke. However I had purchased the 2 year service protection and I was able to get my money back through a gift card. When I tried purchasing a new laptop they had literally nothing within my price range in stock and were no longer carrying the model of laptop I had previously owned. I went back on 3 separate occasions to try and make a purchase but every time the store was in the same state- with nothing in stock. Finally on cyber Monday I decided use a friends computer and simply order online. Unfortunately i was sold an item that wasnt in stock so I had to get my money refunded once again, but that was okay I knew the risks of shopping on cyber Monday. Plus the people working the guest services number were so helpful and understanding.. Over all the staff within this particular store suck, but the company itself is great and they shouldnt affect your opinion of the company.If youre considering making the trip down here i would strongly suggest you order online instead and just avoid the disappointment.

Waits 30 minutes to ask a question about a printer I wanted to purchase. I’m not sure how they makes sales in this store. The customer service is terrible and the manager is no better. Rude and obnoxious people
