Watch for rate increases!Its a clean place, but theres not much to review about a storage facility, except rates and management. The management is nice enough, though weve never spoken since the lease agreement signing.After 5 months, I received a small post card in the mail simply stating Your rent will increase effective June 28. The new rate is below.My small unit is going from $180 per month plus taxes, to $219 per month. The rate was high from the start, and then BOOM! Five months later a whopping 21.7% increase out of the blue! Small increases I can see, rent never stays the same over time, of course. Costs rise and thats passed on to the customer, though at this rate, its almost price-gouging.Sign any lease knowing the rate will jump and factor that into your first year cost. Not a happy camper.

UPDATE: Cubesmart district manager followed up with me after reading this review. They were able to resolve this issue beyond expectation. I had no problems with this location and would use again!Cancelling my unit was very confusing/frustrating. I tried to create an account in the app, which it would not let me do. I then created an account online with no ability to cancel there. I emailed to let them know I wanted to cancel before following month. I received an email saying that was okay. I was moved out well before the date. I did forget to remove the lock, but instead of being contacted I was simply charged for an additional month. No longer in town, I called to ask if they could simply remove the lock. I was told there was nothing that could be done. I will say Jackie was kind and polite throughout, but I felt it was clear I was no longer vacating the unit based on my email and expected more help in this situation.

The young lady Jackie that helped me was amazing took her time with me knew who I was as soon as I walked in took out a time to show me the locker space and even to install the key if needed. I would recommend this location to anyone

Front desk was super helpful. He showed us the unit without complaint and went over everything in detail from the paperwork to how to access our stuff. Great customer service. Very pleased with our experience since day 1 and glad we went with Cube Smart to hold our stuff. Feels very nice not have to worry about our things and know they are being kept safe in a clean unit. Highly recommend.

The easy access that was available to my storage at all times.

So far, I am not impressed. I am scheduled to move stuff into the unit tomorrow so, stopped in today to make sure I had the lock and location. Arrived to a “be back at 12:30” sign on the door. Three people working at this facility but apparently they all go to lunch at the same time. The unit is clean but the door does not stay up which, they said they would fix by tomorrow so, we’ll see.

Clean, convenient, great staff

CubeSmart has been great. Brian handled my rental simply and efficiently. But when I arrived with my movers, it turned out I needed more space. Jackie picked up the ball and set me up with another unit directly across from the one I had. Their first month free offer is for real and saved me $ hundreds.

The store staff are friendly and professional. I didnt worry about my stuff while it was in storage. My unit was free of pest and regular checks were done

The Managers Jackie and Brian were always there to help whenever I needed them for anything. They keep the property neat and clean. They were always very pleasant.

High rates and fees. Prices raise extremely high each year without warning in some instances. Little to no explanation of terms and conditions. Staff not friendly and didn’t follow through on calls or promises made.

This was my first experience renting a storage space. Bridget with CubeSmart was outstanding. She took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me and even made a few phone calls to get me a discount on the first months rent despite a glitch in their software which otherwise would have prevented it.The CubeSmart facility in Sanford is secure, clean, well-lit, and easy to get in and out of. First impressions - Im very pleased so far.

Like several other renters that have left a review, I rented a unit (10x12) for several years. Every six months the rent just kept going up. I can see if they just need to increase a little to keep up with the competition, but the last increase put my unit at $215/mo!!! I did reach out to the manager about the increases and was pretty much told that it’s part of the business. Well, it’s not. It’s a scam. Steer clear if you need to rent a place for longer than 6 months...it’ll break the bank.

Very clean storage but need freight size elevators for the units on the second floor that may have large furniture to store. And keep the sensor light on in the stairway longer than you do. Ended up falling because the light went out and its pitch black in the stairway.

We needed a storage unit quickly and CubeSmart Self Storage had a 5x12 unit available in our price range. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The hours for access are excellent (6am - 10pm) and the price is very reasonable. They are so helpful and set up auto billing for me so I wont miss a payment. I highly recommend them.

Worst experience ever. We are trying to get our belongings out of storage and moved to Alaska. We hired a private moving freight company and CubeSmart wont allow the moving companys truck on the premises. As a back up plan we rented moving PODS that we could load up and then that moving company comes and picks them up but they wont allow those on the premises either. CubeSmart is expecting us to rent a UHAUL, load all our stuff up and then drive the UHAUL truck to the moving facility and unload it and then reload it onto the moving companys truck. Our moving company even called the CubeSmart managers (Brian and Jackie) and both were extremely rude and said they would deny entry of our private moving companys truck. Corporate CubeSmart is trying to help but says the managers of the facility are terrible and that they havent ever experienced anything like that before.This location will allow junky cars, boats and trailers to be stored on the premises but not customers who are trying to move their items out of storage. What a huge disappointment and very frustrating.

First time getting storage and we could not have had a better experience. The manager Bridget was so great. We werent sure about the size we needed and she let us see a few units and didnt try to push us into a size we didnt need. Very personable and professional.

Just moved into a very nice and clean and well maintained storage unit here at CubeSmart Self Storage. After reviewing and comparing storage units throughout the Sanford Downtown area (5 mile radius from the Historic District) I chose to rent at this CubeSmart location after meeting with Bridget, the manager who was professional and cordial, but most Importantly a just a plain nice person to talk with. She answered all of my questions completely and she seemed sincere in her description. My unit is accessible with two large doors on each end, I bought the optional insurance, the pricing was acceptable, and the location is exceptional. Good job Bridget.

Every time i visited the property, Michele was on property cleaning, sweeping, clearing wasp nest & spoke every time. The prices are low. I spoke with a representative about moving into a Storage and was given information on the cost of moving in and a date. It was not discussed with me that there is a $12 minimum insurance requirement, nor was there a courtesy call to notify what time the office closes on the day I was to move in. Some of that may be faulted on my behalf for not checking but I figured someone would have said something as they knew what day I was to move in. Im giving a 3 star rating (which is an increase from my original decision) due to the kindness and helpfulness of the young man in the office at the time.

I would highly recommend this CubeSmart location to my friends. The customer service was excellent and Bridget (the store manager) went out of her way to accomodate all of our needs.

I had a 10x22 unit for 4 years and they kept raising the rent every 6 months after the first year. The funny thing is at the time when I signed the contract, they warned me that other places raise the rent but they wont. Then earlier this year I downsized the unit to 10x12 to save some money. They rented this smaller unit to me without even opening it up. The insulation from the ceiling was falling down. They also raised the price of the smaller 10x12 unit 6 months later (now). I dont understand how they can justify to keep increasing the rent so often.

Bridgette should be voted manager of the year @ Cubesmart corporate, unbelievable accommodating, willing to help no matter how busy she is, her follow up is unparalleled - highly recommend this facility!

I visit this location every month to pay the rent for a family member and I was very disappointed when I visited last week to make the payment. I arrived behind another family and when I stepped in the door behind them I got a personal phone call so I stepped outside the door for a quick conversation giving them time to finish their business. The clerk came to the door and began locking the door and I said to her Id like to pay a bill. She hand gestured me and continued locking the door. I stood there for approximately 8 minutes. The family she was helping left through the back to the outside then she returned to the door and opened it and let me in saying only I am sorry about that. The time of operation on the door says 9:30 - 6:00 PM. Many times I have driven there to make a payment and there is a sign in the window saying what time they will return and I have had to wait or make another trip just to make the payment. They need more than one office worker so that its easier to make payments and any other business transactions.
