The food was cooked perfectly. I got a medium cooked burger with mozzarella sticks and it was cooked perfectly even the staff was super friendly over the phone when I was ordering and they had clear and simple pick up directions. The diner was very clean and the drinks from the bar are AMAZING! The Long Island iced tea could’ve been made a little better but the girl was being trained on how to make drinks so it’s understandable. I definitely will be going back and ordering more stuff. Definitely try them out!
The Third Alarm is always on my radar for a great food adventure along with the fact that I have already wrote a Reuben Sandwich review on my Ask the Reuben Girl Blog on WordPress.This restaurant has a great family and home cooking feel with good prices and are very accommodating when it comes to switching out or eliminating when it comes to menus choices. They offer Gluten free and Vegetarian options as well. My only tip is seating is limited so check peak time if you have more than 2 people in your party. Otherwise Enjoy!!!

Best Diner Ive found in a long time. They serve breakfast all day and they have something for everyone on the menu. The staff here are also very kind and they keep the place very clean.

We ate dinner here with a party of 12. We sat outside and pushed tables together so we could all sit together. The food and drinks were great. All of our food came out at the same time. The lovely young lady who helped us was so accommodating and even took a family picture for grandma. Would recommend 10/10 for anyone staying in the Wells area. Definitely coming back!!!
Awesome food, drink, and service. Great atmosphere. The food is definitely quality me and 2 others definitely enjoyed our meals to the fullest extent. If your nearby its worth a try if your not plan a stop hear for a great meal its worth the stop I assure you.
If your looking for an interesting place with history to eat at, this is the place! They have really good food and desserts as well as some Firefighter photos and equipment on display from years ago. They also have outdoor dining witch is really nice!
We always enjoy dinner here. This is a small local diner. Sit at one of the tables or on a barstool and chat with the staff while you eat.The space is cramped, but that has never been an issue for me. However, if you dont want to be too close to other people, take a pass. The food is great. Classic diner fare.
Waitstaff was friendly, accommodating, attentive -- all one could ask for. Food was fresh and good -- I would have liked a bit more chicken salad in my wrap. This place was busy on a weekday, and it was easy to understand why.
This is a cozy restaurant with excellent food and drinks. They have some of the best adult hot chocolates and coffees that I’ve had. It is a little cramped and there is nowhere to wait if the tables are full. That being said, people come and go fairly quickly so unless it’s peak time the wait is either nonexistent or minimal. The staff are very friendly. Have never had a problem yet.
A very pleasant find during a visit to Sanford to see a Water Ski show. Recommend by some locals. Very good food and drink, worth the wait to get in.
Wouldve given 5 stars except for the fact my meal came out 5 minutes after the rest of party.To me not a big deal as the food and waitresses were fabulous in their service.

I’ve always been happy with the food. Ordered a steak tip dinner tonight, cooked well, was just a little disappointed that they weren’t marinated or any kind of seasoning on them. A little bland.
The food has always been good here, well, actually I can only comment on the breakfast spread. Which is always good! The staff was great! Cheerfully inviting.

I absolutely loved this place. I was visiting family and it was very close to where I was staying and the food was fantastic, the meatloaf sandwich was great as well as the customer service. I really wish there was more diners like this where I’m from, very homey/warm welcoming. If I visit again I’m definitely coming back!
The food was delicious, I was very pleased that I could order breakfast for dinner~ The service was swift and kind- though it was very crowded due to being a relatively small building.

Good food and friendly staff, but very close quarters. The bathroom is smaller than a table and you have to go down a side hall to wash your hands after. A good novelty stop, but I dont think Id be a regular.
Everytime I stop I try to have a different meal. They may be crowded at times, but never feel Im waiting. Better than any chain restaurant.

Very good food. I always get Strawberry Pancakes every time I go and they are the best hands down in Sanford, ME. Quality food at an affordable price plus nice wait staff. Third Alarm Diner is also the number 1 place in town to get a REAL homemade milkshake. They offer some interesting combos and also have adult milkshakes too if which I must say are pretty darn good too. My personal favorite place to get breakfast is Third Alarm Diner.
You cant do everything all day! My friend had a Texas Burger. Cooked well but very messy and missing some of the listed ingredients. I had corned beef eggs benedict which I had to return because the poached eggs were cooked solid. The hash and hollandaise were not made in house so it was very bland. And $30 before tip seemed excessive. Not somewhere I would return.

Our favorite is the bacon cheese burger with extra crispy fries. I took this photo of the cook bringing a burger but not ours. This diner was built in the mid-1940s and watched the original owner build it as we lived in the house where it was built. I have a photo hanging above the kitchen entrance of me less than a month old with my grandfather holding me on the spot the diner was built on.

Third Alarm Diner is always super amazing! So delicious no matter what you order. We love the Eggs Bene and Eggs Florentine and the grilled home fries. Their hollandaise is so yummy. The only thing that would make them even more over the top is if they delivered in Sanford! But they do offer curbside pick up. We love Third Alarm and order here frequently. Definitely try them out!
Great little diner had it for the 1st time today... French Fries are amazing wasnt expecting that from a little diner... Mozzarella Sticks were great.... My Smokehouse Burger was good little bland though could have seasoned the meat better.... Chili Cheese dog was decent... Only complaint was that my mashed potatoes and gravy were absolutely horrendous tasting like something theyd serve you in jail..... Overall was very good for a little diner and Id definitely eat here again
Great home cooked comfort food. Doesnt leave you feeling gross afterwards. Highly recommend the chili. You will not feel left down. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. I will most certainly go back.

A classic American diner that served the Goodall mill workers decades ago continues to serve Sanford as one of the best eateries in southern Maine. The atmosphere is homey, the food is tasty and filling, and the staff is courteous and friendly. A nice way to start any morning.

We enjoyed our lunch, prime rib sandwich (special) and a Reubens. The cajun fries were great; however, the highlight of the visit were the desserts: Strawberry Rhubarb pie and the pumpkin cheesecake. We would return just for the desserts. The one shortcoming were the beverages. Coffee was fine, but finished it before my meal arrived and never offered an additional cup. Soda options were limited to cans.

They practiced social distancing very well for a small diner. Coming from Buffalo Im very happy I decided to go to this restuarant for my 3 day trip in Maine. Food was good and at reasonable prices!
