Normally I would leave a 4 or 5 star, but tonights experience is unacceptable. I ordered take-out, 4 different meals. My wifes turkey burger was raw in the middle. I called to let them know, and was told I can either go back for another turkey burger, or call my bank to cancel the transaction, and thats how Id get my refund....so I have to do the leg work?! They could have cooked a new burger and offered delivery, but no. The manager was too busy to talk on the phone...really? The restaurant looked about 30% full, I know they werent busy making sure the food was being properly and safely cooked. We order from fairview on a weekly basis, but this is disgusting.

This is the most painfully ordinary restaurant I have ever visited. You can get pretty much anything you would expect in a normal diner with normal menus and normal seating - including a counter with stools. It was clean and well-staffed. They have reasonable prices and daily specials. I realized, after being there awhile, that they have a sort of 50s theme. If not for the contemporary pricing, I could almost believe that I was in the 50s or 60s. Six months in North Carolina and it is also the best restaurant we have visited. If I lived in Sanford, Id go every week.

I took my son to breakfast in-between appointments. It was a quiet, down town, family comfortable place. The food was as they say like grandmas Sunday breakfast . The waitress was pleasant. No complaints here. I ordered whatever I wanted and got it. Mixing and matching per my liking.

Weve been stopping at different restaurants in Sanford, which is about 1/2 through our trips. Today, we choose Fairview Dairy Barn and Oh My Gosh! This is one of those little diamond in the rough places you single across and forget any other place exists! The good was great and reasonably priced. Our only regret is how far away it is... DEFINITELY worth checking out if youve never been.

This is the best breakfast in Lee County. Two loaded Swiss omelets. Really good food, plus very clean restaurant.Dont forget the ice cream on the way out!

Our first visit to Fairview will certainly not be our last. Wonderful food, friendly staff and amazing prices! We loved that our kids got a full meal WITH a drink and a scoop of ice cream for under $10 - amazing!! The spicy shrimp wrap that i got was one of the best “lunch” sandwiches that i’ve had in a long time, can’t wait to get it again.Stop by, you will not regret it!

Great service, it was good food fast. The atmosphere was welcoming. This place has definitely been added to our weekly agendas.

The grilled salmon patties and tartar sauce was superb. The salmon had a slight crispy outside and tender inside. In addition, the boneless porkchops were tender and juicy. The only disappointment was the corn muffins which were over baked.

This was our first time at Fairview and I cant say enough good things! Restaurant was extremely clean! Food arrived in less then 10 minutes and was delicious!! Staff was super friendly and pricing was great. We will definately be back. Love the atmosphere too!!

Great biscuits and gravy. Add a side of bacon and a cup of hot coffee and you have a well balanced breakfast 😀

The food here is good, but I really like the ice cream. I had cookies and cream and the texture was great and wasnt too sweet. Our server was prompt and mindful of what we needed. I will be back here in the future.

Ive known and work here. Ive had the food. 99% of which at the time was amazing. Since prices have gotten tight the drop in quality is very noticable. This is by far one if not my favorite restaurants in all of Sanford however my last visit was extremely disappointing. The food was nasty, the not very good and some of the French fries not cooked through. THIS IS NOT STANDARD!!! THE RESTAURANT IS MUCH BETTER, PLEASE OVERLOOK ANY INCONVENIENCE FOR THE TIME BEING. I havent worked for them in over five years, please give them the benefit of the doubt. When things return to normal, there will be zero problems. MR Steve will make sure of it.

One of the better diners in the state! Prices are quite reasonable and the food is good. I felt like the service was also good. I had the hamburger steak and thought that is was tasty. If youre looking for diner food while in the Sanford area, Id recommend giving this place a shot!

This is a very clean and friendly retro style diner. The meals are largely good old country food, but there should something for everyone. The service and food were top notch. I would recommend you give it a try.

I was visiting family in Sanford and was recommended to eat here by family member. Was recommended one of the best places to eat breakfast.And yes I did have some ice cream for breakfast :)Pros: High quality food and honestly really cheap prices. If it is definitely worse more than as listed on the menus. Staff was amazing. Good location especially for parking and commuting.Cons: Honestly nothing for me to critique.Highly recommend to friends and family and for breakfast place if you are in that area. Definitely worth the money.Again if you are in the area please support your local economy and have breakfast here.

We waited weeks to come here and were very excited. I ordered a bacon avocado burger. As you can see in the picture it was not a good piece of avocado which disappointed me a bit, but the sandwich still tasted good. We got a chef salad was amazing, but make sure you get extra ranch as it’s a huge salad. Over all the food is extremely good, I will go back before too long and give an update.

I hadnt been here in years, but I ended up dining here twice in a day. Kind servers, great service! And of course, the Fairview Dairy Bar is a classic stop in Sanford, NC. One of the great gems of Sanford, NC.Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

I am in the process of moving from Virginia. I visit this restaurant every trip for breakfast. Everyone is so pleasant, the food is good and the service hands down is the best. A must try if you havent been.

Fairview. Dairy Bar .. Almost 6 bucks for 2 ice teas . WOW !! Thats including tax !! Almost 5 bucks for a hot dog !! The place was super clean, Staff was amazing !! Food was like every other places . ( Hot Dog ). Just a little to expensive for me . Im guessing they dont want the average working man that just do make it from pay check to pay check coming there . Its for the upper class folks that doesnt mind sending 12 bucks for a hot dog & a ice tea ..

Good food. I highly recommend the strawberry shortcake! Ive been there twice and my service the first time was definitely better. I was a little disappointed that there was no consideration of separation in the midst of the pandemic.

Great food breakfast is over at 11 so we barely missed it. Had the pot roast and dressing which were fantastic but the lemon meringue pie was a little underwhelming. Overall had a great experience.

Dined in 3/24/21 as I usually do 3x per week. Portions are getting smaller. Also, waiter brought card reader to my table and put 20% as the tip without giving me the option, real slick. Was a nasty thing to do considering we are traditionally generous with the tip. You lost our business!!!

Usually good food but I don’t recommend getting takeout. Apparently the cook thinks serving fried squash in the oil it was cooked in is a great idea, was a soggy mess. Also he/she couldn’t even be bothered to cut my sandwich, they weren’t busy either. Kinda sloppy. Never had an issue while eating in the diner but won’t order takeout again.

My daughters favorite restaurant in Sanford. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the best milkshakes Ive ever had.

Its pretty good food, the waffle was amazing, sausage was good but my eggs were a little scorched and was not completely cooked on the inside but besides that it was nice. The wait staff was very attentive and courteous.

I ordered the veggie burger with crinkle fries and a cherry drink. Everything about my meal was fully loaded and very fresh. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. I will come back!

Not Covid SafeSame great restaurant but not too interested in being safe.Though most of the staff are wearing masks, one took his off to speak to other staff, one chose to wrap utensils with her mask under her chin and a few chose to keep their masks under their nose.My biggest issue would be their lack of safe distance seating. When we arrived, the booths were staggered but as more patrons arrive, the staff proceeded to fill every booth. We ended up sitting in the middle of 5 continuously filled booths.I will return when covid has left.

For a home town meals this place has got some good choices, their burgers, roasts and dumplings are a great choice. The chicken can be a bit dry but other than that our family always enjoys coming back.

Dont try to order by phone. Was on hold forever then got hung up on...

An amazing dining experience the staff were very friendly and ensured that we stayed topped off on the tea and were there should we have needed anything. Very relaxed atmosphere and an extremely enjoyable dining experience. Looking forward to going back.

It has much the feel the first time I walked into the Fairview Dairy Bar in Sanford, NC in 1972. My uncles father lived there and told me they had some of the best burgers, sandwiches and plate lunches on the planet. Mr. Birch Knott was right! For about 45 years when in Sanford for broadcast college, later when teaching at the college or just visiting friends or passing through, the Dairy Bar has never disappointed.There are those of us who felt like crying a few years back when the place burned. But Im here to tell you they are back!The restaurant has that homey, diner feel and folks still speak and even talk to one another. Even the kids werent thumbing their phones. And I call that real ambience.The food is sinfully delightful! And most of the time, the service is good. After all, this place stays busy.At the corner of Carthage Street and Carbonton Road, its not hard to find and worth the search! Tell em Timberlake sent you!

The old fashioned Cherry Coke is awesome! Fried pickles are amazing ! I love the chicken salad!! And the fried chicken special is another favorite. We are from NJ and miss our diners so this is a great lil welcoming spot for us. Family friendly ! And nice staff!

I called just a few minutes to get a to go order delivered to our place of business. We were told we were outside the box area. I asked how many miles were in the box area and I was told I do not know, we have to go back this box area I looked up your address and our address and we are 3 minutes away. We were 1.5 miles away from the dairy bar. We were trying to support a local business, and could not even order for delivery that less than 2 miles from your location. I could see over 5 miles i do understand but less than 2 seriously? . Please explain to me what box area you serve? Thank you
