My sales rep was great. He was helpful in filtering what I really wanted to purchase and was patient as I chose my vehicle. He was attentive and kept in constant communication. However, I was led to believe that transferring over my loan would be a relatively easy process but I have been jumping through hoops to get this done. Love my car but not happy about being misled about the process

Ive bought my last 4 cars at CarMax and every time the experience has been positive. No high pressure sales people, just walk around to see what is on the lot check the price and then talk to the sales associate. Everyone was helpful and courteous.

It was excellent and truthful. Just a breath of fresh air from your average dealer. Loved the website and the ease of use to research cars that I was interested in. We were mostly looking for the Honda Civic because of the chances of that car hitting 200,000 is high on the list. But we were open to other vehicles too. We saw a wonderful Accord in the lobby but it had not yet been priced Vera was kind helpful and truthful. Just was a seemless experience

Went in Friday, did all the financing and paperwork! Found out a little more money was needed for the down payment! The salesman said he’d hold the truck till Monday, to give a few days to come up with the rest of it!Walked in 2 days later with the down payment and was out in 45 minutes! Total, we only spent about an hour to an hour and a half from start to finish! Not bad for a dealership!This is my second car buying experience at this Carmax, but I know about 6 or 7 people that have purchased from this Carmax and I would recommend giving them a shot!

4.5 out of 5I usually do not write review until I am completely satisfied or unsatisfied. But this is a different situation for me to share my opinion here. I recently bought a Nissan Rogue Sport from this location (Sanford, FL). I got a pretty much great deal on that one without even negotiating. Yesterday I had to return it because of some issue with breaks as I had already left my car at the service for the repair and they said that its just wet breaks and nothing more. Since, I was hearing that squeaking noise again I tried to reach out to the service department to get that fixed within my 30 day period and they were completely booked for next weeks but my 30 day period would have been ended in a week and because of this I had to return it even though I did not want to return it. And I did not face any issues while returning the car, it went down smooth within 30 minutes. My reason for posting this review is just that, I know CarMax have strict policy with 30 day return policy but it would have been nice if they would have extended my return policy until the next scheduled service date so that if the issue was fixed I would not have returned that Car. Overall, I had an amazing experience with them. And hopefully I would like to buy a car from them in the future. I hope that people in my situation in the future will get to keep their car under the same circumstances instead of returning due to time constraints.

I imagine if you go to the store you’d probably have a better experience. Because of our schedules we tried to do the delivery option. This turned into a complete disaster and we ended up having to go to the store to pick it up. I worked with four different people, all of which were equally confused we were doing external financing; and called back multiple times to verify this information. Such a disaster. I’ll give Carmax another chance next time by going to their store, but I won’t recommend the delivery. It was a failed operation. I felt like a place like Carmax should have this together more.

I am still astounded how simple and satisfying the experience was. One evening we decided to look for a specific car. Within 15 min I found a perfect one using my mobile phone, I reserved it for a test drive the next day, and then filled in form for a quote for my car. The numbers were a perfect swap. The next day I drove to CarMax, picked up the car and signed for a 24 hour test drive (took only a few min), then was back home with the car. The next day I drove in and it took only a few min for me to turn over the keys to my old car, sign the papers for the new car and drive home. Easy.They moved my old license plate and registration from my car to the new car and because I bought and sold to CarMax I saved a huge amount on the sales tax.I was very very surprised at the overall experience, how easy it was and how nice everyone was in the shop. No car sales people, it felt like I was buying something at BestBuy.

Bill knew his stuff and helped me decide on my 2018 Honda Civic. The service department was not so good. The car had an a/c issue and the service manager sent it back to me unchanged. It took longer for me to get my vehicle than I would have liked. There is an issue now with my a/c, but I would rather deal with Honda. If the serviced department was as good as Bill, I would give it 5 stars. Bill gets 5 stars, service gets 2 stars.

Experience was not good and we drove over 50 miles to CarMax where we knew they had the same car we were looking for at the dealership. Got more for our trade-in & a lesser price for the same car. Service was amazing and very quick. They have created a customer for life going forward!

We went to A LOT of dealers and I was really impressed with this location. The lot is organized and you can wonder around (and test drive) without the pressure of sales people. Also Andy C. is the most chill sales person Ive ever met. He is transparent about everything and the process was painless. I wouldnt just trust him with my car, I would trust him with my life!

I liked the upfront pricing. Haggling is such a chore. My favorite option is the 24 hour test drive. Seeing how the vehicle and its lights works at night is great. The staff was not pushy at all and allowed us to walk the lot and look without one of the usual used car vultures swooping in to hold our hands and try and sell us something. Great company.

It was great in the beginning with the exception of the gentleman who set up my test drive appointment. He was a bit rude . Salesperson was good until I was asking about payment information and I was blown off with a contact your agent….Now 2 weeks in and my low battery warning comes on and states service required. I have bought several vehicles from CarMax and always had great experiences so that’s why I chose them again . I have a extended warranty I purchased and will make a service appointment but batteries aren’t included with that and they run almost $500 for the Range Rover I purchased so I am a somewhat irritated .

Honestly the worst car buying experience ever. I will never buy another car at CarMax again ! I got sold a car with the brake light not working which is illegal in the state of Florida. I was told they fixed it and literally on the way home the light turned back on and the warning was my break light. I changed the lightbulb and it was ok for maybe 3 hours then the warning light came back on. So it must be a wire issue. It’s been 2-3 weeks and still not fixed. NEVER AGAIN ! 0 star. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We met Paul at the front door first. He was welcoming and immediately made us feel at ease and explained the process of getting an appraisal. A couple days later I visited the Buick dealership and received terrible service . Obviously, I returned to CarMax to accept the offer I had received. I again spoke to Paul who walked me back to the business office where I met Sean. Sean was extremely efficient and was able to answer all of my questions. He made the process quick and easy. Paul checked in on me until the deal was done. Great job!

I purchased my third Toyota and it was totally different than any car buying experience I have ever had. There was no stress, like the first two. I told Car Max what I wanted, how much I wanted to spend, color, details, etc, and they made it happen. The salesman did not try to sell me something else and they answered all of my questions in a timely manner. The car I wanted was clean and ready in a few days with a beautiful bow on it! They of course had the car’s history and everything checked out on the car too. I was so happy the day I saw it- I cried ( happy tears). I love the car and I am so glad we went to CarMax, it was a wonderful way to buy a car!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! completely unreliable, took the hold off my vehicle and sold it to someone else while I was looking for outside finance options. I had already spoken to multiple people, filled out the paper work and got approved by CarMax for a loan on that car. They took the hold off after two days without informing me then told me it was sold when I went in person to pick it up. I will never buy a car through this companyAs I keep going through the comments, I am now aware that this is something that happens often. I Wish I read the reviews prior to wasting my time.

The sales process was smooth and efficient. Our transfer arrived days before we were expecting it. Our salesman Will walked us through each step and was there for us even after the sale! The only reason we didn’t rate CarMax five stars was because we received the vehicle with a “ Rushed Once Over” detail ( Not very professional). The gloss black wheels were stained with some solvent and the interior was not clean. Also the cargo net which was there the day of test drive was missing when we took delivery. Thanks to Will he arranged for a new net to be ordered.

Sales person and in store experience was great. Wrote a check for a car and was driving home inside of 2 hours. Then later I noticed my temporary tag was about to expire and I hadn’t received one in the mail like I had been promised. I reached out to the Carmax Tag/ Title team and they tell me I have to go pick it at local tag office despite being told it would be mailed to me. My other option was they could mail it to me like they were supposed to have done all along. With only 2 days remaining until my tag expired and the fact they didn’t get it right the first time I declined their offer. Now I’m stuck on my day off unnecessarily going to the tag office. Horrible communication skills, totally unsatisfactory! Was no one ever going to tell me this was my only option after they failed to meet their end of the deal? If I weren’t pro active my wife would be driving around with expired tags. UNSAT CarmaxIf it weren’t for the in store experience I’d be giving you 1 ⭐️Update: I called the Carmax Title office. They said to email them a receipt of the Tag fee & they’d reimburse me. I emailed the receipt. I received no confirmation email, no reply, NOTHING.

Very good experience. Came in with a list of my top 3 cars and got the top one! The car buying expensive was easy and with no pressure at all. Only downside was the length of time the paperwork took but it was a Sunday afternoon so I kinda get it. Overall, glad I went in and was able to test drive a few vehicles at my leisure. This is the second car I’ve bought from CarMax. Will do it again when the need arises! I should also add that it was very clean and everyone wore masks. I frequently saw someone going to clean the tables after someone got up. I was very comfortable there in the midst of the pandemic and test drove the vehicles alone with my family.

Did the online appraisal ahead of time. Went right to the Business Office, and they were quick and efficient. They confirmed all my information was accurate, and didnt play any games with the online appraisal price.We received a slightly higher offer from Vroom ($35 higher), but the fact Carmax was local, and hands you the bank draft on the spot, really made it much more convenient, and less of a hassle.

Friendly service but I went in because my AC wasnt working and it was said there was a leak and it was fixed. It was not fixed. Then they tried to distract me by having be pay a deductible for a door handle they said needed replacing. I believe they just wanted to get some money from me since the car is under warranty. I now have to make more time to go back and have them fix the AC which I believe will need a compressor... frustrating being I have 3 children and live 25 minutes away. Hope it works out.

To start Kaleb our sales guy was great! He communicated with us even on his days off when I contacted him about our issues. I would have given a 5 star if it wasnt for all of the issues we ran into. 1)When we got into the car that had brand new tires the psi was 28, 32, 43, & 48 so we had to ask to have that fixed before we left. 2)We quickly realized that the icon showing wasnt for the tires, but rather the auto engine off. 3) I was told they dont repair Chrysler Pacificas from 2018 so to take it to a Chrysler dealership where I waited for an hour & was without a vehicle for 2 days & they still didnt even look at it. I ended up telling CarMax what they shouldve done in the 1st place & got a loaner & left my car there, but then they couldnt work on my car for over a week. 4) The people that remove scratches and clean do a terrible job! I even asked our car salesman to have them reclean it before we came to purchase it and he said he was even embarrassed by how bad it was. 5)They cleaned & supposedly fixed scratches again before I picked it up after the mechanical repairs and the cleaning was slightly better (I think they need better microfiber cloths because they shouldnt shed like that) & the scratches almost looked like there were more than when we brought it in. I know its a used car, but dont tout how Carmax repairs & cleans & checks cars over mechanically so well when you dont. I forgot to add that I had to drive 40 mins to drop my car at Chrysler, wait an hour in line, 40 minutes back home, 40 mins to try to get it back and they didnt have access to it at the moment then 40 mins to get back home, 40 mins again to pick it up, 45 mins to take it back to carmax, 45 mins to get back home, 45 mins to pick up our vehicle again when it was fixed & another 45 mins back home. Then they forgot to have us sign the title on our new vehicle so we had to drive out of our way to have that Fedexed because the pick up option wasnt working with their barcode number. That is a TON of wasted time for us. Time is money. I dont feel we were ever fairly compensated for this loss of time in our lives. Also, I lost 2 weeks of my 30 days free trial to make sure I liked the vehicle and CarMax refused to give that time back.

We had a Jeep Renegade transferred up so our 15yo daughter (with a learner’s permit) could take a look at it. That process itself was very smooth and easy. Ana was our salesperson when we arrived at the Sanford lot. We didn’t love the car in person and after looking at what else was on the lot, had decided to leave and keep searching. However, Ana had come inside and already searched for comparable available vehicles in the lot based on all the feedback we’d verbally given her a few minutes before, and gave us all the reasons the more expensive Nissan Rogue might suit our needs better. There was no hard sales push, no persuading or convincing; she knew we wanted a safe, reliable small SUV for our young driver, and explained why this vehicle might fit into an somewhat expanded budget. We were already planning to buy MaxCare, but didn’t realize the cost varies based on the vehicle, so because of the low mileage and other factors, we’d spend less on MaxCare for the Rogue. She clearly and fully went through all the math/calculations before we even decided to drive the Rogue, and there were zero surprises when we completed the paperwork for the purchase. Instead of buying a car for our daughter to last through high school, we felt we had a car that would last her through college. We also felt that Ana wasn’t just selling a car — she was helping us find the right car to suit our needs plus giving us more helpful information that helped us make our decision. We’re very happy with Ana and felt the process went as well as it could go.

Few weeks back, Jaamal helped my husband and I find our new 2019 Nissan Rogue, which we fell in love with at first sight. We have always had amazing experiences here. The sales person we got was an older woman and she started our experience out terribly. All we wanted to do was see what they had on the lot first (which is what we have always done). When we asked she pushed back and when I made it clear that we didnt know what kind of car we wanted so can we PLEASE go to the lot first, she responded with well you wont find anything, but go ahead and look! Turned out she was wrong and 2 of the 4 cars we liked were available. But her attitude was so stinky that we just left.

I was sold a vehicle 2019 Land Rover Discovery that within 24 hours began to have engine misfires that nearly lead to an accident on I4 with minor in the car with me. At no point during my frustration did a service, sales or management member even bother to apologize, try to make things right or anything that showed my life or my childs worth value. After complaining to corporate the General Managers from this location and others finally reached out to me. It is impossible to get someone on the phone from the dealerships. We were put in harms way, I lost money using rentals, ubering back and forth and my credit took a ding from all the pulls they kept doing when I was trying to get a replacement vehicle as soon as possible. I ended up getting another Land Rover Ranger Rover more than $20,000 more and that vehicle also proved CarMax doesnt inspect vehicles prior to selling to customers with 48 hours check engine light came on later the notification diesel fuel injection fluid level was low and then final straw was electronic dashboard begin to glitch not even showing speed. CarMax is a danger to the general public

Worked with Deni on getting a 2016 mustang. I must she was super easy to work with listened to everything I had to say and took action. Deni was far from pushy like most typical salesman at your local dealership. Deni and everyone else at carmax made this car buying experience short and simple.
