I honestly cannot say enough good things about this store. I shopped there for YEARS until moving to SoCal awhile back, and miss them greatly.. I picked up an amazing variety of neat stuff for the home and garden, and often just browsed to see what I could find to ‘re-purpose’… the one down here in Palm Springs seems _almost_ as cool… 😍😎

Similarly to another reviewer I had shockingly terrible service. Especially since I could go to Home Depot, pay a lot less for whatever product I’m shopping for with the expectation of having relatively no service or assistance whatsoever. You go to ace and pay for the service and assistance. So to have terrible service was a shock. I will never go back to that store. Thank goodness we have another ace in San Rafael. I believe they are independently own. So they will be getting all my patronage from now on not to mention I will direct everyone I know not go to that store either. Good job on whoever does the hiring over there.

Ive been going to HD for years since theyre open later, but Aces worker are hands down the winner. The staff at 4th, and at Merrydale, are super nice and helpful. Theyll help load your truck, I had a dozen bags of gravel, and also find a parking spot. Staff helped me find a part for over twenty minutes during the holidays last year. Life savers.

I bought a $1.79 box of screws and gave the clerk a $20.00 and he gave me back $2.44 . When I told him I gave him a $20.00 he Looked at the receipt and said yes, and I gave you $2.44 just like the receipt said...I Tried explaining it to him but he just kept saying The receipt says $2.44 ...I had to raise my voice, then an older man. Came over and told ME I was out of Line...I try to support local stores but this was just WAY OUT OF Line...Perhaps you should take that young man off the register if he cant add I kept telling him it was a dollar 75 and I gave him a 20 and he just kept looking at the receipt and telling me yes he gave me $2.44 change like the receipt said instead of figuring out that he charged me for nine of them she was taxi charging me $18 or 17 whatever his charging me like $15 too much when he gave me back and he just he would not listen he was just kept looking at the receipt like he cant do math in his head

A great place to shop for your household needs. I prefer to shop at the local owned stores versus the big box places that are corporate owned.

Tried to return a light switch less than 24 hours of purchase with the receipt. I was told I had to take the light switch back the ACE store it was purchased! Are you kidding me. Ace is overpriced, worth waiting in the line at home depot.

Cramped, every time Ive shopped here its been hard to find an available employee to ask where to find what I was looking for, and theres always a wait to check out. Not a great selection because its not a very big store.

I love ACE Hardware. They have products the big stores dont carry and they are always so helpful and friendly.

Shockingly bad service. I waited 10 minutes for someone to begin to help me get paint. Evidently there is one guy in the entire store that knows anything about anything. There were four who knew absolutely nothing and came to him with the simplest of questions, interrupting him as he made my paint.. That’s including the “manager“ running around like a chicken with his head cut off, completely out of his element. To top it all off, they sent me away with 4 gallons of paint and no box. They had no box. Someone should tell them all the paints on the shelf come in boxes. They may want to keep one or two around.

Easy for a quick trip to buy one item. Tall shelves may be an issue for some.

The employees were very nice and friendly. Allan is sweet and patient and Rachel was friendly, caring, and patient. Smaller store so wait time may come with going to smaller location.

Open later than most Ace stores. It is smallish but packed wkth merchandise! I walked in at 10 min till closing to try to find a very odd faucet adapter. Customer service man greeted me as I entered. He did not say one word about the fact that they were about to close; he just smiled and asked if he could help me find something. He went with me to the adapters...apologized for the low stock and spe.t at least ten minutes trying to help me find the correct adapter. I spent another 5- minutes finding a temporary solution-- a universal clamp on adapter.nkw it was past closing time and when I went to check out the cashier asked if I had ti!s to find what I needed and asked if I needed anything else. I asked if they had any nitrile gloves as three other stores had been out and I need them for my Eczema since my hands crack and bleed. Both he and the other clerk moved the grills they had already brought inside so they could get me a box of mediums. They were pricey but at this point I was so wowed by their customer service skills (far too rare of late ) that I didnt mind at all!!. What a nice experience!! Go shop here!! Ace costs a bit more than other big box or harbour freight stores but you get full measure for your money at this honey of a store!!

Friendly, local hardware store. Very helpful staff, willing to help you figure things out and recommend the best tool for the job. Theyll even cut materials for you and only sell you what you need... unlike the big box store down the street where the workers try their best to ignore you.

People be acting hard and talking shut like they dont work in a harware store

Although I have shopped here since they opened. Getting keys cut, picking up supplies for gardening, buying tools or hardware for a project. I carry a backpack, I always have. This time I was denied entry to the store unless I left my backpack by the door. My backpack has my photography equipment in it and Im not leaving it in my vehicle, nor am I leaving it where I can not keep an eye on it. I ask the cashier if I can hold onto it, since it contains all my camera equipment. She shakes her head no. OK fine. I see no other backpack or purse there. In fact I have never been asked to leave my backpack while shopping here. Im sure other women are not asked to leave their purses there, which are easier to shoplift merchandise into. I am not interested in being treated like a criminal and will never shop here again.

Once again delighted by the service here!...while on lunch I hurried to ace to join their afternoon rush of shoppers. As a small que began to form I was relieved to see a real customer service professional operate the register like the late, great,dale earn heart in his prime ..I was amazed at his effecincy and almost couldnt believe it when I was next in line. When he explained that this is only his 5th shift and he is still learning I was then commited to a review to inform management and the public of this young mans excellence..he even stapled my bag of bolts and recommended I go the Hacienda, a local mom and pop, for lunch instead of McDonalds. Color me impressed!
