Im not a huge fan of Office Depot and rarely find myself at one but today I needed a legal document and saw online they had what I needed and went in. Not knowing where anything is I asked first lady I saw where I might find my document and she pointed me in the right direction with a smile. After searching through various documents I found myself again needing to ask for assistance. I then asked the next person I saw if he knew where the document I was looking for was. Not only did he get me what I needed but his energy and positivity was so refreshing I had to get his name and write this review. Well done James I too work in customer service and you give my own customer service a run for its money π
Employees were nice but didnt know the store super well (edit: by which I mean not super well, but not bad either). Things also seem pretty overpriced/very limited selection, e.g. cheapest card for a fathers day card was over 8 dollars. (Edit: Ive been told via email that the pandemic has affected their available selection.) Very eh ok but eh experience
Today I was in the Office Depot in San Rafael and helped by John who was working the front register. I returned used cartridges of black ink and bought new ink. I also bought copy paper.John quickly handled the used ink cartridges, brought the requested new ink, and then, suggested that I take advantage of a special sale on copy paper. He supplied me with the paper. He also advised me about the availability of discount coupons which could be used with any purchase. He provided me with a coupon which I used. So informative. So simple, So fast.

This has been my go-to place for everything office-related, from clocks, computer supplies, chairs, paper, and even things like calendars, for a long time. The staff thst has been around awhile is often actually very fun to get help from. And how many stores can you say that about?

When I was here, the staff were really nice and helpful. They knew where everything was and helped speed up my shopping. Whenever I had a question on where an item was they would always answer it and show me where it was. Overall great service!
Im a pretty easy person to please. All I ask is for quality customer service. I placed and order for 3 posters on 9/15 and usually orders are done in 1 hour. Fast forward 2 days later and I never received an email saying my order was complete. So I decided to pop in to check on my order. First I had to wait 10 minutes to get an employee to help me. Im okay with that. Then I notice one of my posters were on the floor. No lamination or anything. I asked the employee when my order would be done and she told me I would have to come back tomorrow. I asked her why wasnt my order complete she told me and I quote I dont know why. Then she asked me if I received an email I told her No, but if I waited for the email I would be screwed for my presentation on Monday. She had no response.I had to wait 30 minutes to get posters I ordered online 2 days in advance. Whats the sense of online ordering? Oh well.
Today I waited for 7 minutes at the cash register where there was no employees visible or available despite me and several other customers calling to try and find someone to help us at the checkout register. I called the store using my phone while in line, but no one answered the phone just rang and rang for over 5 minutes.When informed employees at the store dont seem to care whats happening.No one takes responsibility or apologizes when theres a screw up. I decided to just leave and go to Best Buy. I wonder if the people behind me in line ever got out of that store with the items they wanted? Probably not, theyre probably still there waiting for anyone who works at Office Depot to appear as I type this.
This store has horrible customer service. Bought an office chair at $109.99 on Friday, then found the same chair on their website for $79.99. So on their website it states they will refund the difference. However, after returning to the store for the refund we were told by an African American girl (possibly by the same one in the previous reviews) that we needed to bring the entire box and the chair back to the store to get the refund. Unlike other stores that only require the receipt, Office Depot makes the process for a refund annoying. Strike 1.Since the same chair was on sale, we were going to buy another one. According to the website three were in stock in the store. We had a difficult time finding them as they were not at the same place as when we bought one on Friday. We asked a store employee to help us find one but was unsuccessful. Strike 2. We ended up buying the chair online with an additional discount.As we left the store, we found the chairs in a corner of the store away from all the other office chairs. Their own employees dont even know where their products are located in the store. Strike 3.It seems the entire staff dont care about providing basic customer service and clearly hates their jobs. This is why brick and mortar stores close down and consumers buy online. If this Office Depot store doesnt give a care, then close down.I recommend shopping at Staples in Novato. Much better customer service and happier staff.
There isnt much to say about a store like this to be honest, unless you have something to complain about. I have been visiting this place for years. Every time I am here, I receive excellent service from the staffs. They are always friendly, helpful and smiley. Parking is free.
Purchased some masks product was nothing like the description not usable - they would not take exchange or refund because it was open how does one know unless they open the product - asked them to throw them away -
If youre on this side of town and need some office supplies, this is a great place to stop. I was greeted when I walked in the door. The employees are very kind and we can get some very good deals, pretty good service overall.
Office Depot in San Rafael, CA has to be the most poorly run and managed store in the history of retail. The people behind the counter are unfamiliar with product in the store, cannot even tell you where it is located and on top of that are void of any expression. It does not deserve any stars, but, cant post without one. Staples for me from now on!
They had exactly the brand & model of pen refill I needed. Plus a store brand pad of lined paper, made with 80% sugar cane fiber that is Very smooth to right on, and more ecologically responsible than paper from 100% trees.
Went to pick up my large foam board I had gotten printed and paid for online when I realized there were marks and scratches all over the board. When I asked for the manager, the woman came over and had a major attitude and told me I had to not only leave the product with them, they could not issue me a refund AND if I wanted to get a refund I would have to βfigure it out myselfβ. Completely unacceptable and I will never use this Office Depot again. Terrible customer service and managers should be removed if they are useless in helping finding a resolution.
I was in and out of there! Just needed 3 pks of ballpoint pens. It would have been faster if a sales associate was available to show me exactly where they were! π
Was looking for a wifi adapter for my desktop PC and in a few minutes, they had one on hold for me. Went down to buy it and they were very helpful and friendly. Thank you for the great service :)

Worst store ever. Took a laptop back and drove from San Jose about an hour and 20 min each way. They processed the refund and didnt have the cash to give me. They wouldnt give the lap t op back either. Im just supposto trust they will give me my 650.00
This location has helpful staff and a variety of great products that are easily accessible. Their parking lot is a bit tricky to navigate since its on a busy corner but that is not their fault.

I am a small business owner of a technical consulting firm. I was 2 hours away from home and my computer display wasnt working. Ireally needed help. The manager John Ibadlit and his technician James were not very nice. A whole lot of bragging and lip. I was traveling ... and I just needed to borrow a monitor for a few minutes to decide whether I needed to return home to fix my computer. James the technical supporr person just wanted to sell me a new computer. If you are in trouble ... dont go to Office Depot.
Went here to quickly grab toner for the office. Couldnt find it and no one was around. Finally found it. Went to the check out counter and yep still no one but me and two others waiting to be checked out. Saw the guy at the copy print section and asked for help he scolded me for inturpting him but he wasnt even with anyone. I just walked out and so did the other two peole. I wonder how they make any money with how they just let customers ready to pay just walk out.
The manager here knows all about computer repair, very impressed
Google showed a case for my tablet as in stock at my local store. Drove there, not in stock. Pretty basic failure.

They have a new kid who is surprisingly on the know and super helpful with computers and electronics. The last guy was an old grump who looked down on people.
Some stuff was hard to find and not where I expected to find it. The store us small enough so I could find everything I needed.
Absolutely terrible quality of printing and laminating, does nobody check on it? The prints were uneven and laminating sloppy, peeling off with stains. When I asked for refund, I was told to call their 800 number because it was an online order. I called and I was told that someone would call me back within 3 hours with confirmation which did not happen. The worst service ever!

I came in with a difficult problem with my recently bought printer. James, the tech consultant was a huge help. He solved my problem, showed me how to fix it myself in the future, and carried my printer out to my car.
Staff spends more time arguing amongst themselves than helping customers.
It took 4 people and 20 minutes to exchange a $20 broken headset. This place could train its workers.
