Very professional yet fun and friendly. Been going here for years and they never disappoint. If you need your bike up and running again these are the guys to see. I think they sell bikes and gear too if that’s what your looking for. They worked hard for this 5 star review and earned every one.
Stay away!Say whatever makes you feel better buddy no verbal abuse here and if it was I’m sorry to hurt your little heart. What about my buddies reader you lost what about not tightening up my brakes when you replace the pads I can keep going on if you would like this isn’t the first issue we had when you say You’re going to do something I expect you to do it whether I paid for it or not money is not a issue here
Took my 2019 Honda Pioneer 1000-5 in (scheduled the day) for annual service and picked it up later that day. Phil was up front with the work to be performed and what is needed as we go forward for preventative maintenance. Really a nice focused group to tackle all work in a professional manner. A hidden shop that does what they say they will do.
This is the kind of place where you walk in with a random handful of fuel line and instead of asking a zillion questions and protesting about I dont know if we... like some autoparts store guy would, the owner (Phil) smiles and 2 minutes later you have exactly what you need. Great place with the soul of an old-school motorcycle shop.
Each and every guy here is so damn helpful. Always have fun shop talking here and learning more about my bike. Phill will make sure to put the time and work into making sure you get exactly what you need. As much as I’d like to fix my bike up myself I know I can always trust the boys here to keep me riding.
Owner has a dry and relatable sense of humor. He was very helpful when choosing a helmet for someone who is new to the Vespa and motorcycle world.
Read a lot of great reviews and they were spot on. Nice staff, great prices. This is the spot for motorcycle repairs.
The best Beta dealer, hands down!
Phil always something different/cool on the showroom floor and the service here is incredible. I drive past a couple of bike shops on my way from New Braunfels to shop at San Marcos Motorcycles. Keep up the good work!
First off, I live almost 2000 miles away from Phil and San Marcos Motorcycles. A couple of months ago, I came across his shop while I was looking for a 2021 Sherco SE300 Factory. These bikes are like unicorns, and super difficult to find. I contacted Phil and discussed the logistics of getting a bike to me, in Reno. From the second he answered the phone, Phil was incredibly kind and helpful. We worked out the logistics, and he arranged for the bike to be delivered to my house while I was on a work trip. He also installed a ton of aftermarket parts for me before delivering it, saving me valuable time. The customer service I received here is second to absolutely none! If I purchase another Sherco in the future, I can promise you that it will be from Phil and San Marcos Motorcycles!
Great place fast service very professional.
I have bought and sold and traded just about every bike Ive ever had since 2016 to now here at this shop. Phillip and his team have treated me like family and have helped me out with getting me back on two wheels. His team has the best service for all your bike needs and wants if he dont have the part he gets the part and works with you on payments. I will always do business with Phillip and his shop as they continue to grow. The service rates arent bad and they get you going where other dealerships will not have your motorcycles and atvs done after 6 months. His team and shop is the only shop I trust with working on all my old-school bikes I have. Phillips team is currently working on a supermoto of mine and the timing that it all got rebuilt and the new parts on is amazing its only been 2 months since that bike went in and even due to the winter storm its almost complete and fully street legal. If your ever in the area and need a motorcycle or even parts for your bikes or quads or you just want to see what he has in store stop by and take a look.
Phil and Joe will take great care of you and your bike. Phenomenal work for a great price, cant say enough about this place. I wont trust my bike with anybody else. Do yourself a favor and check em out.
Wonderful experience as usual at San Marcos Motorcycle, Phil and his staff are Competent, reliable & honest.Been coming here for years, Ive purchased several bikes, parts, riding gear. Also an expidicious, fair priced service dept.
Great place. Bought a scooter on Saturday and had it inspect on Tuesday. They took care of all my issues and questions. I am a very happy customer.
Phillip (the owner) is one of the nicest guys in the industry
Phil was amazing. Walked me through everything I needed to know to safely and quickly get myself into the cool world of motorcycles. Definitely would recommend this place every time can wait to look into some bigger bikes in the future. Thank You San Marcos Motorcycles!
Great staff and good pricing
This is the place to buy your next bike or gear.Phil, is very easy going and is genuinely happy to help you. His knowledge is 2nd to none, and he will not waste your time.
It’s always a pleasure dealing with Phil and the team. They were very educational through my buying process and have been more than willing to answer any question I’ve had arise since.
Absolutely Brilliant. SMM did wonderful work and I would highly recommend them to all. I rarely write reviews but they did such an outstanding job they deserve 6 stars for the work performed to repair my Polaris 6x6 Ranger and for their service in general.
The crew do excellent work and stand behind their work. They have your back. Phillip, the owner is forthright in every way. I reccomend San Marcos Motorcycles highly. Ive been a customer for 5 years. M. Osborne.
Great shop, honest pricing. I ordered a Shinko 705 front tire for a Vstrom 650 which they had by the next day and were going to put on for me. ($160 installed, total price.)However, the bike I was going to install it on had some other issues and I decided to go another way. Called AFTER they received tire in and they still refunded my purchase.Great business, Customer for life.Update(s): Returned to later to find they had the absolute best deals on used motorcycles, far exceeding any of the other dealers. Purchased a Versys 650 from them and couldnt have been happier.Later into my Versys ownership, I left a difficult to get to clutch cable mount bolt out thinking it would be fine. Instead it spouted oil like a geyser and I stopped at San Marcos Motorcycle, who took 20 minutes putting in a new bolt and charged me nothing. Great place, nothing but class.
Very helpful answering all my questions and making sure I was getting what was right for me. Communication is excellent, and my 1st experience here was nothing short of great. Phil even went out of his way to meet me at a very inconvenient time to work around my schedule. Ill be back for my next bike.
Went to see a bike Today that is listed on Craigslist. Got there and was told it was gone and they need to update their ad. I could have used that info before I drove up from San Antonio. If you see a bike in one of their ads you may want to call before driving there. They also don’t wear masks despite the current pandemic and business requirements. The combination today tells me these folks are not looking out for their customers.
My first time coming here to have my bike checked out. Phil was great! Super helpful and I’ll definitely be coming back here for any future services!
Knowledgeable staff,good people!
I cannot speak highly enough about these guys! I went in to sit on a few bikes because I am a new rider and was not sure what I was looking for. They were extremely helpful and professional and unlike other more “corporate dealerships” they were not hell-bent on selling me anything. They were more like friends, helping me to find the perfect bike that fits ME, and less like salesmen who were simply trying to move bikes off the lot and make that commission money. They were polite, informative and very charming. I will absolutely be going back to them for any maintenance or modifications in the future. (On a side note: it’s also an added bonus that they are a local shop and are members of the San Marcos community so the money they make, funnels back into the local economy instead of profiting some national chain.)
Always friendly. Great prices. Do work in a timely manner. I would recommend them highly! The owner Phil is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable!!
I had a one on one talk with the owner,Phil, he provided great customer service and helped me out in every way needed. He ordered some parts for my bike that I was missing and had them delivered right away. I greatly recommend this place, these people keep there word and help in any way possible. I give them 5 stars for friendliness, helpfulness and for great service.
These guys are great! They replaced my clutch wire within an hour and didnt charge me an arm and a leg to do so. Great prices on oil changes as well. I ride up here from San Antonio because I trust their work. Customer for life!
Bring my Harley for oil, transmission and primary fluid change every 5k. Phil and the team always take care of me and make me feel at home. I have been a loyal customer for the past 2-1/2 years and drive in from San Antonio because I wont let anyone else work on the beast! :o-)
Great service and super nice owner/ staff. Has to get some work done on my bike and they were very helpful with getting parts in a timely fashion and kept me posted with updates on the status’s of my bike, as well as helped me save some money. I also previously bought a lot of motorcycle gear (jacket, shoes, gloves, helmet, etc) and all of the products they carry are very high quality, is definitely recommend! thanks Phil and the team!
Phil the owner is flippin awesome. I didn’t feel comfortable and he took time to take the bike on the interstate so I felt comfortable. He may not want to see me again but I will definitely come back!!!!!
I ride superbikes and I am out there on the road and in my head a lone racer. No sponsors or pit crews. Just San Marcos motorcycles Phil and his crew of amazing mechanics. They are my support team and I can be out there with confidence knowing my machine is running right. My life and my safety are serious so finding people who you can trust is huge.
Ive had nothing but great experiences here. Customer service is awesome. Their knowledge is impeccable from my ducati sports bike to my yamaha dirtbike. They also get riders are enthusiasts they have never tryed to upsell me or push maintenance they know i want to do myself. I only forfit my bike to the shop for headache issues and they have always surprised me and repaired affordability.Thankyou San marcos motorcycles were lucky to have you guys here.
They ordered the specialty parts I needed for my dirtbike and had them shipped quicker than I could get it online. The price was a little higher but the service was worth it. The guys really know their stuff and I recommend them if youre in the area! They also have a good selection of used bikes if youre in the market!
This is where I bought my first motorcycle and I couldn’t be more pleased. Not knowing very much, I feel that Phil really helped me make a great purchase. He even threw in a free helmet 😊 he made sure my bike was good to go from the day I purchased it until the day I picked it up. Great friendly atmosphere and I would go to them for any issues or purchases again.
Phil is very knowledgeable, friendly, always made time for my dumb questions. He treats me like a friend and has a customer for life. I cant say enough about the customer services and sales side of the staff. I bought a ninja from them and he made the whole process so effortless and painless. I will be bringing my Suzuki and there for them to fix because I know I can trust ALL of them to do a great job.
Great place for great bikes. Have bought and will always send my bike here to get worked on and buying. Love my Honda magna I just got today thanks to Philip having that amazing bike.
Offer full price in cash. I called two weeks ago. I sure thought we had a binding sale. I could not get there because of all the rain. First day I am able to get there he says he already financed it and was sold. He knew he could make more off the guy not able to buy it out right. We had a deal. DO NOT DO BUSINESS W/ THIS COMPANY THEIR WORD MEANS NOTHING. STAY AWAY.
This place, though maybe not the biggest, is by far the best Ive been to so far. When I needed some minor repairs made on my Kawasaki Vulcan they were more than happy to do it (unlike in WA where no one would touch it unless I took it to the dealer) AND they gave me a fair price.Later on I was in a motorcycle accident and once again went here for help. They did a thorough inspection of my bike to make sure anything and everything that was broken got documented, and when insurance totaled it they gave me a great deal on replacement helmet and gloves even though I was still looking elsewhere for a new bike.Dont let the small, hole-in-the-wall feel fool you, these guys are professionals and I would go here everyday of the week and twice on Sunday before I EVER go to a dealer or other shop. If Phil cant help you, I doubt anyone else can.
Great shop with a great mind at the center of the establishment. Not only have they done work for me, but also expanded my knowledge on bikes/ maintenance in general. If there is ever a problem on their part, unlike other shops they are not afraid to own up to it and make it right by you to the best of their ability. Would reccomened this place 12/10x. Theyre not ones to BS and will help get you what you need ........ nothing more unless you want it.
Phil and the guys know there stuff and care to do whats right. Also the only shop around that works on all makes, years and models. Only shop for my bike. Service is also quick for as busy as they are.(06 stratoliner xv1900)
An awesome business and friendly crew San Marcos motorcycles is where I bought and have done all or at very least has done most of my repairs on my bike and is a very knowledgeable place. I highly recommend this place.
Brought my first bike to this shop and I gotta say it was a great experience. Phil was awesome, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Not only did they do great work on my bike, but they did it promptly too and at a great price. A huge thank you to Phil and the rest of the San Marcos Motorcycles crew!
Phil has no free time to help you, but somehow he always makes time for you. I always leave this shop confident I recieved quality service and feeling as though I recieved more than I paid for.
I needed my motorcycle fixed after a year of just having it sit in my driveway. Phil gave me a fair quote, a timeline for getting the work done, and came in under budget and sooner than expected. Everything is covered under warranty, and all the guys in the shop are great. They came into my radar through a recommendation from a friend after a bad experience at another local shop. SMM impressed me well enough that theyll be who I recommend to other friends.
Phil is one of the most genuine people youll ever meet. You want a shop that you can TRUST? San Marcos Motorcycles!
I bought a high mileage sportbike for cheap here, and its runs great after 3 months of daily riding. Since then Ive returned for parts and gear, and Ive only had good experiences. The owner is super cool and helpful. I trust these guys much more than any other bike shop Ive been to.
Coolest and most helpful motodudes I’ve ever ran into! Anything from fuses to high class saddles for your hawg (or piglet) these bros got you covered 11/10!!!!!
This place is awesome! All the employees are nice, helpful, and knowledgeable about motorcycles. If you have any questions about your bike, or how to fix anything on your bike, bring it here. The customer service is superb.
Tells the truth! Almost the most important part. Also does great service, works hard to stick within your budget and communicates progress!
Have been doing business with the shop for about 2 years & am always a happy customer. From rebuilding my 01 yz426f to buying a zx6r they always make the customers feel comfortable. They know quality work and that hospitality goes along way, and thats what you get. The owners know what they are doing and so do the staff. Everyone is happy to answer any questions and makes you feel at ease. They get the job done and dont beat around the bush like some companies do. I will always recommend the shop to others.
Super knowledgeable and very helpful. Im brand new to the world of motorcycles and Phillip shared a lot of advice with me and gave very useful tips about being a beginner. Will definitely purchase my bike from them!
Love this place. Best place for anything from an Oil change to a tire replacement. These guys are knowledgeable and give you the best service everytime you come in. Dont take your motorcycle anywhere else.
Had a flat. They towed me and had me back on the road in no time at all. Fair price and really nice guys.
I love these guys its like they are from 50 years ago. Good service and willing to do whatever to help.
Phil always takes great care of me and my bike! Wouldnt go anywhere else!
Talked with Phil and Ryan...both knowledgeable ...and they have great prices and labor rates...gonna recommend this shop to my biker peeps
Phile and his mechanics wont give up on perfecting your motorcycle
Great mechanics good price on putting 2 new tires and a tube on a Honda dirt bike.
Took my Zuma in for repairs told them what needed to be replaced to get the bike running right and they did everything but what I had asked. And said it was running properly. On the way home immediately noticed it was not running correctly. Dont even bother taking your bike to this place.
Always willing to help. I have gone by and called so many times they know me by name. No matter how dumb my question might be they are happy to answer and offer help
Phil and his crew are always courteous...issues are solved as quickly as may be...will be return customers.
Ive taken my motorcycle here twice and both times Ive had them fix a multitude of things. Phile is one of the best people to oversear your bike. He will not let you get a bike that is not ready for the long road. He has been a great asset to keeping my motorcycle in tip top condition. Thank you Phile and your mechanihs for dedicating yourselves to perfection and nothing less. I owe you guys lunch!
Excellent Service every step of the way. Very professional group of guys. Glad to have a solid place to take my bike.
Good guys, very friendly and know their bikes. They sell used motorcycles, scooters, import Japanese vehicles, riding gear, motorcycle parts/ tires, and of course also fix bikes. Theyre on top of things and have helped me get on a bike, and stay on the bike. They sometimes have a que of bikes waiting for service, so you should call ahead to see what the wait time is. Ask for Phill (the owner), hes normally around, hell make sure you get taken care off.
Came in with my blown motorcycle engine at 3 in the afyernoon for a consult. The crew were all too helpful with advice, options and diagnosis. Sadly, the engine was pretty trashed but, there wasnt any BS on their part. They spoke well of their only competition and have earned my trust. Will be bringing my most recent acquisition for a tune up and examination. I think i have found my new shop. Thanks San Marcos Motorcycles!
Great place to get any motorcycle work done. Great prices and wonderful staff!
Helpful staff
Helped bring my vespa back to life. Super stoked. High quality service for a good price.
I walked in with concerns about the high mileage of my metric cruiser and gave the fellas at the shop every opportunity to sell me every service under the sun, but they were conservative about the maintenance my bike needed. I was beyond pleased about what they billed, compared to the services they performed.Under $500 to replace brakes, rear shocks, brake fluid, clutch fluid, sync the carbs, replace front fork oil, flush the coolant, and lube the cables.
These guys are beyond helpful and the advice they give you will be in your favor, not theres! Dont be hesitant to give these guys a call, theyll get you taken care of.
I was in a bind and needed front and rear tires replaced. Was charged $360. $160 for tires and $200 for install. Plus no warranty on the tires.Plus they forgot to plug in the turn signal lights. This is my first bikeAfter the repair I called a few other places and got quotes between $200-$250. They are good guys to work with, but felt like highway robbery.
My first time to use these guys and I must say its nice to have things done right, and for the quoted price!
Awesome customer service.. Phil is a storehouse of knowledge
Went to get my car inspected they did a great job
Awful communication skills from the business owner. Both my brother and I were interested in purchasing two of the bikes these guys had listed for sale on Craigslist.I had been going back and forth for over a week about a triumph street triple and also a CBX. We arranged a time for my brother and me to drive in from San Antonio. After we both made requests to get out of work early to do this we met up and started driving up to San Marcos. So here we are on a Saturday night fighting our way through traffic to get there before the sun sets.I am texting the owner while we are on the way up asking about how the deal would need to be closed, if it should be with him or Phil. Somehow it slipped his mind to tell us that the Triumph was sold and was not even there anymore!!Phil the gentleman who greeted us was extremely apologetic but that doesnt give us back the over two hours of time we just wasted.
I looked everywhere for a part to get my bike up and running. When I called here, they found it immediately and had it waiting for me when I arrived. It was such a cheap part they gave it to me for free! Will definitely come back!
I had a 2013 Harley Sportster, under 10k miles on it. Needed to sell it. Had been trying to sell on my own, but kept getting a bunch of crazies messaging me, so i certainly didnt feel comfortable telling them where i lived. A friend hooked me up with SMM. Best thing ever. I was told from the beginning it would take a while without a clear title - i understood. I went on with my life and trying to payoff the title. In the meantime, Philip got to deal with all the crazies wantting to see rhe bike. And there were lots of them. He took care of all the advertising, kept it clean, I looked in from time-to-time. I dearly miss my bike, and wish I didnt have to sell her, but it made it so much easier to have Philip manage it all for me. He only told me.aboit seriois offers - the low ball bs he kept as jokes - but when it came down to it, he worked hard to make sure my.bike went to the right people - people that respect the bike will not some lowball bs but can see what a bike.is actully worth. While he did all the hard work, i went on with life and just waited for a phone call. If Im ever able.to ride again, San Marcos Motorcycles - Philip Baine - will be my first stop. He doesnt mess around, hes there to run a business and not get run over. Thank you Philip, you made my life so much easier and worry free. Anyone i know selling or buying, i will send your way virst.
Good place to get your bike serviced or buy one. Great people and affordable prices
Im going to sound lile such a shill but San Marcos motorcycles is probably the epitome of what I look for when I need sound mechanical advice and amazing, personalized customer service. Im a perpetual beginner and ask a lot of dumb questions but their patience is unparalleled and they are seriously willing to help. They are a very knowledgeable group of people and also really fun to talk to. I drive a scooter that I bought from them and not only is it highly reliable and fun, but theyre still always willing to help if I have any questions about anything. I highly recommend buying your first or 100th motorcycle here.
Phil is very Commentating professional and exacting if you want you motorcycle actually fixed this is the place to go love these guys
San Marcos Motorcycles, at this moment, is managed by a great team of knowledgeable and respectable mechanics who care about giving you a quality service and even a learning one too. Genuine Phil the owner will reasonably step aside from his busy work day to carefully examine your complaint or request. Do keep in mind mechanic services are ALWAYS a better experience if you atleast took a small bit of your time to search up even just a few of your bikes problems to come in with some familiarity. Know these guys stay busy with what seems like being the best motorbike shop in town! I took in my 80s japanese moped for an engine head/piston head/compression chamber rebuild and tune up. They did a damn good job finding what few old OEM parts and quality aftermarket parts (considering your budget for either) they could; getting just the right components to fit and keep a lasting performance. Their designated 2 stroke engine mechanic, if I remembered his name, is certainly worth a mention here. Even with some extended time than expected for a completed service, complications any human business undergoes, they kept up a good notice of its progress, reasonable mistakes and prompt corrections overtime. There was always an open door to my questions/concerns, and that makes the difference to why I will go back for more $ervice. Being more than 4 months riding now, I can confidently write this review from the lasting performance my bike has held up. 1st kicks a charm. You should confide in taking your special toy to these good local fellows.
The guys got my new tires mounted super quick and had my bike back on the road sooner than I expected. Thanks!
Phil is great!
These guys are great and some of the nicest guys youll meet. They pay attention to detail to every bike they service and let you know what maintenance or work should be done immediately for your safety.
Awesome job. Great bunch of guys and quick turn around.
Experts that will be 100% honest.
Great service and great people went to get a tire and they got right to it helped me out a lot thanks highly recommend
Awesome Place Great Customer Service and Good Deals.
Awesome friendly service and good gear selection from a small shop.
My bike had a recharge issue that another repair tech wasnt able to fix. Phillip figured it out and saved me some money. Definitely recommend
