Honestly, I cannot say enough positive things about the Scott and HMC! They’ve done 2 bigger repair jobs for me this year and have always come in at least $400 less than other quotes I’ve gotten for the same jobs.They’re the best in town.Always straight up and honest about the work that needs to be done and the pricing for said work. They won’t overcharge you like most repair places will. Which is fantastic for people who live life on a budget… like college students.They work with me around my school and work schedules, which is another major plus.I’ll continue to go to them while I’m living in or near San Marcos.

After being led to believe at the dealer that we needed a new turbo amongst several other things adding up to about $12K total, we called HMC for help. Truck was towed over and Scott and the guys diagnosed it quickly and told us we could probably fix our main issue with just the computer update. Everything we needed done ended up being a tenth of what was quoted at the dealership. Truck is still running great and this was about five months ago. We saved ourselves greatly by trusting HMC. I’ve already recommended this shop to several people. They are truly trustworthy and great mechanics that know their stuff.

HIGHLY recommend choosing HMC Automotive for your cars needs. I had an issue with my serpentine belt that they were able to fix and also fix the air pressure on my tires. Very positive and friendly staff and will do whatever it takes to get you back on the road.

This shop is not like what you typically hear about auto repair shops. They are very honest and wont have you replace things that arent broken and they dont hack up the price. If you are looking for a shop that won’t try to upsell you and will take care of you and the problem, look no further! The owner is very kind and made me feel welcome. I did not once feel pressured to buy something I did not need. The price was very fair and I even got a coupon for labor! Definitely will be returning for routine maintenance and any repairs.

I cant recommend HMC automotive repair enough!They saved me thousands of dollars and quite a bit of time! I will be going to them for all my automotive needs moving forward.A little backstory:*PLEASE NOTE IN THIS SECTION I AM DESCRIBING MY EXPERIENCE AT A DIFFERENT SHOP*I have an 08 Chevy Silverado that wouldnt drive. I towed it to the Chevy Dealership and they charged me a $200 diagnostic to figure out what the issue was. The Dealership came back 4 days later and said that I would need a brand new transmission and that it would cost $5,000 and take up to a week to complete. After picking up my truck from the diagnostics I noticed that the headlights, turn signal, and windshield fluid dispenser were no longer working.Upset about this I told them I wouldnt have the transmission repaired if they didnt fix these new problems that at the time I suspected they had caused. After arguing with the Service Rep and Service Manager I told them I would have it towed to a different shop to have the transmission repaired.*END OF SECTION*HMC Automotive Repair:Wanting a second opinion I had my truck towed to HMC automotive repair through a recommendation I had received from a friend. The staff (Woody and Scott) were extremely helpful. Within one hour of my truck arriving at their facility they were able to diagnose that the issue was not with the transmission at all! Instead they were able to send me pictures and videos of the Rear Differential in pieces (I dont know how the dealership misdiagnosed this as a transmission issue). HMC ordered a new Rear Differential that came with 3 year parts and labor warranty which arrived and was installed within 2 days! They updated me every step of the way and followed up with me afterwards to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Not only that, but they also identified that the previous shop had bent the connection pins on my fuse box and thats what was causing my headlights, windshield wiper fluid dispenser, and turn signals not to work. Woody was great and fixed this issue for free! (The other dealership wanted to charge me another $200 diagnostic fee to figure out the problem they caused).Read our review guidelines
