Dont bother paying to have a tow hitch installed by these scam artists. Paid $450 to have the work done and 2 times before the appointment date was contacted with problems about the future installation. I should have canceled at that time, but opted to give them the benefit of doubt. We dropped the vehicle off at 11am and were finally told at 5pm that there was noone available to do the work. After picking up the vehicle, we were informed that because there was no manager on site, they would be unable to issue a refund or do anything about the lack of actual service done. The customer service line helpfully informed me that the only person who can authorize a refund is the manager on site. Save yourself a wasted day and just find a competent mechanic to perform the work instead.

I havent rented a U-Haul in a long time. But I did not expect the staff to go above and beyond, like they did.Usually renting a uhaul means you have a few long days ahead of you if not more. But the staff at this facility can make those days a little bit easier.

I got a trailer hitch installed here and they were able to squeeze me in right away. Steve is awesome and got me taken care of and didn’t hack the car up like some other places have been known to do.

I have rented their storage unit for almost half year. Very friendly staff, always try to help. The unit is very clean and the price is reasonable.

These people need to pay attention to detail. When I request the rental for 24 hours, I expect it to be for 24 hours. Instead I was asked how long I need it for, to which I said I need it for 24 hours (and that’s after reserving it online for 24 hours), and the person doing my paperwork decided to put until 7:00pm (mind you it was 8:30am when I came to pick up the truck). TO me that sounds like 10-1/2 hours, NOT 24 hours. And of course I end up getting charged for a second day because I returned it AFTER 7:00pm. It’s not until I complained about it and refused to pay the extra charges, stating that I have no problem providing the confirmation email as proof that I requested the rental for 24 hours that they took the 2nd day charges off. Ridiculous that I have to go that far for them to just do the right thing. And I’m not even going into details about the fact that they decided to start adding different insurance plans and I specifically denied. When I booked I chose the $14 coverage, and all of a sudden I’m getting billed for the $28 coverage. No thank you! AND that’s not to mention the fact that every time I’ve rented from uhaul I’ve had problems with the after hours check-in. Thank god customer service rep picked up the phone quickly, because last time I was on hold for over an hour trying to get someone on the phone, and my phone died when they finally picked up. That’s definitely NOT what I want to be doing at 12:00am. After 12-14 hours of moving and driving a big truck all I want to do is go home and sleep, but I’ve never been able to do that with uhaul, because their after hours check-in has NEVER worked correctly. And I literally mean not even one time. So to whoever might read this, I would honestly reconsider using uhaul. From here on out I will only use them if no other rental companies have anything available for me. Uhaul is ABSOLUTELY THE LAST CHOICE for a truck rental, and I recommend it to be yours too.P.S. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the lady that did my paperwork was honestly nice and pleasant to speak with, and the place was very neat/clean and nicely organized. The process to pick up the truck was simple, fast, and very straight forward/down to the point. I was literally in and out, but again, uhaul is by far my LAST choice of a truck rental company because of this location and because of how I’ve been treated this time and most of the times in the past. BE WARNED: YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED AT THE END, SO MAKE SURE TO GO OVER YOUR CHARGES VERY CAREFULLY AND DISPUTE INCORRECT ONES RIGHT AWAY. IF YOU NOTICE INCORRECT CHARGES, >>>DO NOT PAY

Never heard of a u haul place that lets you take a truck then have you return to the same location! We are moving! Why would we move 2 hours away and then bring the truck back to the same location when we literally just moved! Ha the guy inside have no idea what they are doing! They said it’s “additional $400 to take it 1 way! Its displayed on the website!” So i went checked the website and there is was $167 for 1 way trip! Ha not to mention I Over hear one of the guys talking about how customers don’t know anything while on hold! Ha ridiculous! It’s called customer service! Learn it!Don’t come here they made a stressful move day even more stressful! Lol thanks for nothing.

Had to move from California to Florida and Uhaul made it easy. The manager was extremely helpful and friendly. We got a ubox and it all worked out great. Even got there a few days early!

Good place to rent a moving vehicles

I went to the U-Haul dealer in San Juan Capistrano, CA looking for a 20-foot truck and I made a reservation on June 14, 2017. My salesperson, Trinidad, assured me that if I found a better deal elsewhere that U-Haul would meet or beat that price. Well, Budget offered me a 24-foot truck for $393 less than U-Haul offered me for a 20-foot truck and they were also willing to let me keep it for an extra day for a cross-country move that I have planned for June 20, 2017 (Budget offered me a 10-day reservation v. a 9-day reservation from U-Haul). Trinidad clearly instructed me that if I found a better deal to bring in a copy of the reservation and that U-Haul would meet or beat it. I printed my Budget and U-Haul confirmations, as Trinidad told me to do, and made a special return trip to U-Haul to provide Trinidad with the proof the Budget rental costs were indeed nearly $400 less for a bigger truck. Trinidad, when presented with the Budget confirmation, quickly changed his story and I was told that he lacked the authority to provide me with the meet or beat deal as he had promised just an hour before. He, however, promised that the manager Elvia would get back to me the next morning with a price to beat Budget. Well no call came from Elvia and at 2 PM I returned, once again, to U-Haul to see if Elvia would do as Trinidad had promised me. Elvia was busy so the assistant manager, a male who did not give me his name, shared with me that I had already received a $1200 discount (this was news to me as no one told be that I had been given a discount for any reason) and, he also stated, that no further discount would be offered to me. I pointed out to him that his salesperson Trinidad promised me that if I did as he had asked, present a competitors verifiable price quote, I would receive a matching price or better from U-Haul. The assistant manager told me there was nothing he could do for me. U-Haul totally wasted my time and made me visit the U-Haul facility two additional times for no reason whatsoever. I naturally cancelled my reservation and will be certain to share the story of my treatment with friends and family. U-Haul personnel provide conflicting messages and have so sense of integrity or honor. Shame on U-Haul for permitting such unforgivable behavior on the part of their employees.

They are new facility and still have some bugs in the computer system. However, the people and equipment are first class. The employees are trying very hard to be valuable to the customer. It is a welcome addition to the economy and efficiency of business and do-it-yourself folks in the area. Thanks to U-haul.

We had an issue with these rotting mustangs that we couldnt find help with because of the unpleasant odor. But Brad and Maria didnt bat an eye. They were more than helpful with loading and unloading and had fantastic tips for using quick lime. If I ever have another problem with rotting road kill Ill come here first.

Friendly staff, very helpful, got me in and out fast. Had a reservation with Budget, but the day before the scheduled pickup, Budget called to tell me they didnt have a truck for me, told me to call customer service. Budget couldnt fix their problem, but I called U-Haul, and they put me on the list for one of the two trucks scheduled to come in.the next day. It all worked out, so I credit U-Haul with a win, and will likely not ever rent from Budget again. Only downside was I did have to call U-Haul the next morning to confirm that they had the truck.

For auto transporter. Was quoted, on paper 410 dollars, when I called to confirm, suddenly price changed to 860.00. Mgr would not honor contract from written, so called Corp and went to lake forest yard. UHaul was good to your word. So 5 stars for that but a generous 3 for the San Juan capistrano office jacking price up.

Was forced to drive the uhaul back from San Diego despite being told initially that it was not a problem to leave it at one of the locations down there. Then had to Uber back down to San Diego since I moved everything in down there. All in all it cost me almost $200 with the added miles and Uber cost. Never had an issue before doing this.

I searched for Propane refills in my area; this UHaul came up. SJC UHAL does not have refill capabilities. The San Clemente location does though. Also -- the phone number listed goes to an AZ call center. The call center is unaware of this subtlety.
