If I could give more stars I would. They were so easy to work with. Fast and super quality goes into their work. Reasonable price too. Great couch but after 15 years some springs were shot and cushions lost all there cushion until these guys made me a new couch. Fast, efficient and quality work. Something hard to find these days. 10 stars and blue ribbon ๐ฅ
Meyer did a great job fixing my couch. Really great guy too. Straightforward with pricing and really knows his stuff. Definitely recommend!
Marks workmanship is more than excellent. He refinished my kitchen table, and he looks even better than when it was new. I am more than pleased with the results and highly recommend him for all furniture refinishing.Joan Fox
Mark responded promptly to my request for an estimate to repair my dining table. He came prepared and was able to disassemble the damaged leg and transport it back to his shop for repair. He completed the repair job in a short few days and came back and reassembled our treasured table today.Mark is old school, honest and hardworking. He did a very good job and I recommend him for furniture repair work.
Called asking if they could fix my furniture, was told no and when asked if they could recommend a company that can, was given the snarky reply of โgoogle searchโThis place has terrible business etiquette and Iโm lucky they canโt repair my furniture. What a nightmare it would have been if I had to deal with them and only gotten snarky responses.Transcript:โDo you know a place that can repair my furniture?โโYes.โโOk, what is their name?โโGoogle searchโWow thanks, didnโt think of doing that before calling at all......
Mark was responsive and provided quality craftsmanship in repairing our Chinese Rosewood. He picked up, repaired, and returned furniture to our home in Santa Cuz within two weeks. Everything was carefully done. We highly recommend his services.
Mark did an excellent job - he fixed the bedframe, which had structural problems - the job was complete with couple hours after I contacted him!Thank you very much for excellent workmanship!
Mark picked up my broken Stressless chair and returned in two days later, completely fixed. His work is excellent and his prices are reasonable.
I have a repaired dresser. Professional and responsive. Thank you!
I had the leg on an easy chair break along with part of the frame. Mark was able to quickly fix the frame and leg and called me just a couple of days later to pick it up. Fast, affordable, and fixed like new! Thanks!
Repaired an old chair that was a family heirloom -- high quality workmanship, and quick turnaround time. Would highly recommend.
Mark did a fabulous job repairing my dining table leg that had been very poorly installed initially when I engaged with an earlier handyman who botched things up. Mark came over a few days ago, gave me an estimate and said it could take upto two weeks to repair it. To my delight he was able to come back much sooner ( in 4 days ) and fix the table leg. He did a wonderful job, is a thorough professional and is a straight shooter with a great sense of humor :). Thank you Mark and OM furniture!
Great job. Not one sign of glue. My chairs weretaken completely apart and reglued. Beautiful finish. The upholstery was also beautiful and professionally done. The underside of the chairs are also beautiful!
I have an antique ladys upholstered swivel/rocker chair that was my mothers. The straps in the seat were broken, and the seat cushion needed to be re-stuffed. Meyer came out the same day I called to look at the chair and give me an estimate. Instead of replacing the seat straps, he recommended inserting plywood in the seat. His price was fair. He finished the repairs quickly--within a few days. He did a good job. The chair looks good and is very sturdy. Hes very nice and skillful.
I have a very unique antique sewing table that had over 50 years of abuse. It looked so damage I almost threw it away. These folks did such an outstanding job of restoring, I now place this beautiful table not in the corner where it was, but in a place it can be noticed right away. Thank you folks for an awesome job.
Quick turnaround. Good quality work.
My large Southern Motion red electro-mechanical sofas moveable headrest suddenly stopped working. It appeared the arm that moves the headrest forward and back was out of kilter because we could see the bulge the arm made in the back of the leather back, protruding an inch out of sofas back. We were afraid that soon it will make a hole in the leather back, because the protrusion was taut. It was difficult to find a specialist who knew how to work with these mechanisms. Mark O. was recommended to us by a furniture store, so we called him. He drove to Marin Co. from San Jose (and also has a shop in Sacramento) the same day I called him. He said to give him 2 weeks, but he called me the next day - today - and said the sofa was repaired. He got here at 7:30PM and indeed the sofa was perfect again. Also gave me some touch-up paint our sofas color - and a pen knife as a small gift. In one day! Wow!
I bought a beautiful antique oak table and chairs, and it all needed to be refinished. There were gouges in the wood and I was afraid that it couldnโt be repaired. Meyer came and picked it up, and returned it beautifully refinished. Poor guy had to haul it up two flights of stairs. Iโm grateful for his gift of loving precious furniture back to life. Thank you Meyer!
Meyer did a great job replacing the damaged cane on four Early American chairs. Very nice work. The new cane is tight and smooth. He finished the job very quickly.
This guy has absolutely no customer service skills. I called asking about his service area and he claimed a town 45 minutes away was 2 hours from him and hung up on me. I called a second listing on yelp and surprisingly, he answered again under a different business name. He was frustrated that i called again and hung up on me before i could even apologize.
Mark provided excellent job. He did exactly what we asked him to do.The quality was great and we are totally satisfied of this project. We can highly recommend Mark as a good professional.
Called to repair a electrical problem on a recliner. Came out the same day and fixed the problem.Great service.
I had a glider chair that was starting to break at one of the movable joints in a hard to access location. Mark was able to match the pieces that needed fixing and get the chair working again.
Meyer did a great job with the armoire that was damaged during transportation. He crafted and carved a missing decorative piece as well as repaired the door hinge on fragile mirror door. He knows his trade and his communication was great, plus he completed the job promptly.
When I contacted OM Furniture, we scheduled a visit to estimate the refinishing of my 2 items but it wasnt until the day of our appointment that I was informed that a $100 fee would be charged IN CASH for this estimate. I consider this an unfair business practice.I asked for an hourly rate, and was told there isnt one. Well, let me break this down for OM Furniture (and anyone else who is thinking about falling for this scheme). The 16hrs it would take you to sand and stain my two items, divided by the $6k estimate is $375 per hour. So buyers beware, if you are not in the market to pay $375 per hour for furniture repair - keep your $100 estimate fee and your time.
Just had my torn leather sofa repaired. His craftsmanship was top notch, Meyer was very professional and timely!-Michael
I had bought an used L-shaped sofa (dont know the term for it) on Craigslist 2 months ago. It seemed to be in pretty good condition till a month back when I realized that the piece of sofa that can be pulled out to form a bed had a broken load-bearing beam. I tried to repair it myself without success. So I came across Marks name when I googled for furniture repair near me. Based on my limited interactions with him, he seemed like a no-nonsense kind of person (not someone Ill engage in small-talk). The rate he charged me for this job seemed a bit high to me (more than twice the original amount I paid for the sofa). But Im new to the Bay area and dont really have a good reference point for comparison. He took 2 weeks for the job. I have tested the piece for a week now before writing this review. He seems to have done a good job. He has strengthened the beam and it is no longer buckling under my weight (I weigh quite a lot).
I had an upholstered chair that had the wooden frame broken where the seat meets the back. It was difficult finding someone who could fix this for me. Meyer did a wonderful job and the chair is like new.
Meyer is honest, knowledgeable, and fair in his assessment. He is able to determine the problem and find the appropriate fix at the lowest cost to you. Definitely recommend him for not only wood repairs, but upholstered and mechanical parts repair on furniture.
After we put the request to have our La-Z-Boy repaired, Mark called me before I even exited Home Adviserโs website. He took the assignment and was over within a few hours and had the problem solved within another hour!Very professional and fast! Iโd recommend him to anyone.
Very efficient and courteous service. Work completed promptly and well done.
Meyer Did a wonderful job on my hope chest.I was very pleased on the work he did.He really knows his job. I GIVE HIM A FIVE STAR. REVIEW.Thank you very much.
I had a lovely black vinyl chair my grandfather purchased in the late 60s from a furniture store in Berkeley. Unfortunately, between wear and tear and poor storage, I thought it was done in. Meyer reupholstered the chair to a better-than-new state. I couldnt be happier.
A chair that my wife loves, and cannot find a replacement for, had broken. So I needed to get it fixed, and Mark fixed it so that it is solid and the repair cannot be seen. The work was quickly done, in only a few days.
Very quick turnaround of one day. Blew away our expectations. Fixed a couple of chairs for us that we were looking to replace, but thanks to OM Furniture Repair, we dont have to anymore.
The old wood of a chair leg cracked. Meyer came and got the chair andin a few days brought it back with a near-invisible, but strong, repair. He also made suggestions on how to both strengthen the old legs andraise the height of the chair. Thanks!
I wasnโt sure what to make of Mark at first. His introduction was awkward and I didnโt immediately make the connection with my Home Advisor request. But once I figured it out Mark was wonderful. He called me back to schedule a time that accommodated my complicated schedule exactly when he said he would - not once but three times. And when the agreed upon time arrived, he arrived. The plan was that he would come look at the big antique linen press (think armoire) which has a heavy door with a 7โ tall beveled glass mirror on it and give me an estimate of the cost to repair its hinge for a $100 trip charge which would be applied to the cost of the repair if he did the job. Instead, in 2 hours, starting at 6:00 pm, he repaired the stripped out screw holes, made new screws, and did so in such a way that there is no visible sign of the damage that had been done. His willingness to work well into the evening saved me from scheduling a second visit.Mark is a true gentleman and a master craftsman. I highly recommend him.
Meyer fixed my grandmothers 1940s upholstered rocking chair when the springs broke. Its a family favorite again.
One of the worst service ever took a $$60 dollars without even given a good/realistic estimate
