Best video game store in the bay. not a fancy setup like the other ones in San Jose but they have the rarest games for the best prices. this place is full of gems. parking is easy too.
Really big selection of games at good prices, in a convenient location with good parking. The owner was very nice and went out of his way to find games that I was looking for. Definitely recommend if you are in San Jose.
Great pop place to to barter gaming equipment hands down.
He was amazing I bought an Xbox one from him and the disc drive wasnt working and the controller was drifting but he said if I need help come back and its a 15 minute ride on my bike so I went back and he gave me a new xbox with a working disc drive a new controller and I got some games for my nes 360 and more and tip for new people ask if he has more games for your console cause he has more in the back a lot of the time amazing fast service Im 100% reccomend he has anything you name from old to new
They sold me a fake PS3/DualShock 3 controller for $40. Even made me buy a charger for it for an extra 10 bucks after I asked if it came with a charger which they said it didn’t when it actually did come with one. Wouldn’t recommend coming here to find a genuine DualShock 3 controller.
Got a pretty varied selection of games for most consoles. Reasonable prices and super friendly owner; if you ask hell bring more games out of the back of the store and tests games in front of you to show you theyre working. The only other note is that they heavily prefer cash payments as they dont readily have credit payment available. I also recommend you call ahead as their hours are not always consistent with what Google says.
Small has a ton of stuff.. Great prices and very nice guy.. And he also buys old and new game counsels.. Games and more ..
Love to Sell & Trade my Games at Gameworld. Thanks Tom.
This place is a nice little shop to go to if you literally dont have anything to do! (Literally everyone at the moment.) The prices arent outrageously expensive or outrageously cheap, theyre pretty much around the price that anyone can afford! I have no idea theyre open during the pandemic... But if they are, its a nice place to go whenever you want to get a console, controllers, or just a couple games. They sell anything from the Atari 2600, (I think) to the Nintendo switch! (No idea they have in stock) they have a pretty wide variety of things you can select from. The owner is really nice and they even occasionally make deals out of the blue! Five stars!
I like this store, I go here every once in a while to see what new Nintendo 64 games the guy has to offer. It can be a bit more organized... But its still a good spot. I plan on going here again either way. Great spot.
Small place, had some good stuff a little to pricy for my budget
I’ve been in multiple times now and had never had a bad experience. Every time I vist the owner is quick to help. You can ask to test any of the various games or systems and the owner is always happy to help out. Pretty decent prices and a good selection of whatever you might be looking for.
Extremely disorganized, cases just crammed with stuff in no discernible order.
Had a great experience here. The owner has a cool backstory, the prices are average, and they have a great selection (make sure to ask if youre looking for something). I watched how the owner handled a very rude customer, and was impressed by how courteous and professional he was. Had I been in the owners shoes, I might have lost my temper! Support this friendly game store - its a great place to have in the community!
Ive been going here for a couple years now its a great place super nice and something they let you do is lower the price of game which is pretty dope highly recommend it
Great customer service
It isnt always that you will come across a retro game store, nope the next best thing around here is the flea market. This little hole on the wall in a very random location has quite the selection of retro games and some modern ones. The only disappointment I had when visiting the store, was that I came across at least 4 roaches living among the consoles out in display. It happens realistically, but this is one thing I cannot over look because the last thing I want is to buy a console and bring home some roaches.
Great customer service! The guy who was working there went out of his way to search for a specific game that I was looking for. He even brought out several bins filled with games and allowed me to look through them.
Ive been going to Game World for almost four years now and I love it. Tom is great at helping customers find games theyre searching for and isnt afraid make a deal every now and then. He even let me take a PS2 memory card once because I didnt have enough cash at the time so long as I paid him back the next time I was there (which I did).Overall, Game World provides an awesome gateway into ones very own sense of nostalgia. I definitely recommend this place!
Excellent gaming store. Super nice owner. My son and I love this place. A much better experience for us than going to the over-priced GameStop stores. I would recommend to all of my friends and serious gamers.
Good video games on good conditions,,
Every time I go there, I have all of my questions answered, and feel welcomed as a customer. The owner is really nice and encourages negotiations with prices. Wonderful place to go for video game maniacs such as myself~
A cool place to sell your used games fair prices to.
I love going here, great prices, the owner is awesome and willing to negotiate. I have gotten many deals on the used games, occasionally he has NEW games which he sells at reasonable prices. I bought god of war 3 new for ten bucks, resident evil 5 for 20, and so on.
I love this place! They have a huge selection of classic and newer games, as well as a variety of consoles. Its like a gold mine. Prices are quite reasonable, not like your local Gamestop. The guys are friendly and always willing to help. If you cant find a certain system, part or game, they will order it for you and call you when it arrives. I cant say enough good things about this place. I give it 5 stars.
The guys were as helpful as they could be answering my question about component cables for the PS1. Had a nostalgic feeling and decided to go to Game World because this is one of the few places in the city that sell older gen consoles, accessories, games, etc. Will come back because customer service was good.
Awesome store with tons of games ranging from retro to modern. the guy who runs the place is super knowledgeable and helpful. hands down one of the best used game stores ive ever been to and i look forward to going back.
Good custom service and a awesome selection of games if youre a collector this is the place to stop 👍
This place is great. They have reasonable prices and great selection of games. I buy games from here frequently. The owner is always very helpful.
Best store ever if youre a retro gamer in San Jose. They have so much stuff in the front and even more in back. This place is awesome.
Been coming here for years great place and prices are fair
If you like to play video games. They have the biggest selection
The clerk (owner, I assume) was very nice, he saw what I was looking at and brought out more from the back, helping me find a rare game I was interested in! Exactly the opposite of what Im used to at larger games retailers, wonderful.
Have anything you are looking for
Wow!I almost dont want to post a good review because everyone will take the treasures! This is one of those small mom n pop shops that go on the hunt and bring back their goods to their storefront.Their collection of classics are amazing! They have more original than third party which is a major plus in my buck. This whole little store is crowded but its like you opened up a time portal to a gamers closet in 1998.Comin back for sure!👌🏽
Great place to go, sold some old games for $30. Couldnt really sell one of my more expensive games tho.
My fiance and I found our games we wanted. And customer service was really good! He made sure all the games worked and the controller before we purchased them.
Best place to catch retro games. Hands down, if you are searching for that one game, this is your spot.
Its good i found what I was looking for for a good price.
Decent selection but stores like this should always alphabetize.
I was shopping for a vintage system and wanted my deciding factor to be based on what games were available at purchase. I had a difficult time making up my mind based off of what was displayed out front, and then the owner figured out my interest, pulled me in the back room and it was gold. Within a few minutes I found just what I was looking for and then some and it was a blast.
Owner is nice and willing to haggle :)
Great little hole in the wall video game shop with reasonable prices.
Great place to sell your new or old games for sum extra money in your poket😉👍☺
Was able to get a SNES and NES game at a good price.
Sell any PlayStation 2 games for $10 each. Best deal I could find for these type of games.
Very helpful. Found everything I was looking for
Very great selection of newest and oldest gaming consoles, games, and accessories the guy who works there is nice and reasons very great service
Nice to have retro game store. Decent selection. Prices are ok.
Hey you love old games in good condition this is the place for you it also feels so 90s with a touch of that 2016 style
Dude who works here is awesome. Just picked a 64 and Mario Kart!
Got a few of my favorite N64 games from here. I had lost my collection a while back so I decided to buy goldene eye, star wars, super smash bros, and mario kart.Staff was polite and helpful too. They obviously know a lot about gaming.
I went to this place quite alot and my mom would mostly make a deal with the owner almost everytime i buy a game. Great place, they still sell old videogames/consoles and the prices are not too high and not too low and of course they sell new games.
I stepped in and instantly nerdgasmed.Their selection is absolutely astounding! Theres hoards of stuff from every gaming generation, from the NES to the PS3. Very impressive. They even have a few import games that I thought were pretty interesting. The prices range from anywhere around fair to good.Youre not going to pick up games for rock-bottom prices here, but theres certainly a good selection of games to buy if youre stripped on cash. I also like that they have games in varying conditions, so you can get somewhat expensive games a little more cheaply. The owner was a really friendly guy who gave me a fair price for the games I sold him and a really great price for my purchase. Gamestop just lost my business. My only complaint was the store smelled of incense, but that probably wont be a problem for some people. I just have a sensitive nose.Overall, I highly recommend this place if you like video games in any form. (-:
Any time I go there all I have to do is ask for a game. The owner knows his games and in a moment he even goes and pulls it from his back shelves. It may be a small shop, but dont let that detour you. This shop is the place you would have always wanted to go to as a kid a literal Game World.
Good selection of retro games and accessories. Good prices.
I love this place the greatest place to get n64 games and n64 stuff.
Really cool place have your stuff play your favorite games! 😎
Sold me a broken Xbox
Recently, I bought a supaboy there. One thing I have to complain is that top thing broke but I love that portable console. Highly recommended to ppl that like old school games and newer ones. Wish they had bigger selection on WiiU. Will be coming here soon. THANKS
Gamestop WAS the place for used / older games. Unfortunately they drank the Cooolaid and only see in dollar signs now. Shop here if you are that golden age of growing up with the best
PROS:- Super social and friendly owner.- Owner is upfront and honest.- Game World sells and buys any game under the sun!CONS:- None!
Good selection, didnt find what I was looking for but the staff was really helpful despite the crowd in there already.
I got my own game cube there and it was awesome!!!
I first found this place online when I was searching for great local places to get used video games at... I went there and everything was awesome! The game selection was huge! From Atari 2600 to Xbox 360! Everything was a reasonable price as well, even trading was great! The employees are so kind too. Theyll help you find a game, trade you games, repair, clean, and even take broken games off your hands for a couple bucks! Never going back to GameStop!!!
Great selection of games for all consoles. Great deals too.
Good place I got my son Xbox-360 here!
Guy doesnt speak english all that well but hes a cool guy.
Cool guy i called to see if they have a game i had wanted in shop and he was closed i guess but he answered and opend up shop but thats not it also waited 20-30 mins for me to drive from campbell to come buy what i wanted and it was a fair price on top of that. Thanks guy def comong back here and i would suggest to others as well - fyi i got a game cube system andThe Legend Of Zelda the wind waker-
People of the United States this place is so messed up you see the sign in Gameworld It says Old and New, Sell,Buy,and trade. When I saw trade I wanted to trade some of my good games for another one in Gameworld and I gave them a call and it was disrespectful, they say no u cant trade and said it in an angry voice and said No you have to come here and buy it!!! In an angry voice. It was such a pain I thought this place was a good place because I saw many videos and, reviews about Gameworld and I saw a review that the people there are nice well now I see its wrong so people dont go to this Gameworld .
Only the games he had were good but service, not as.
Good selection. We even found ps2 games.
Has almost everything you need in terms of accessories. Nice owner, great prices!
Nice little place to find old games that arent available anywhere else. Gotta check it out and see what they have.
Has all my retro gaming needs. good people and fair prices
