I was shopping for a suit for my pre-wedding photo shooting but I didnt really know what looked good on me. David was super super helpful on what suits me the best! He gave me a couple of great suggestions with various price range. I liked that he was very patient with me and did not push me to buy anything and gave me enough time to choose. My wife also loved his choices for me very much: from suits, vests, shirts, shoes, to bowtie, hanky. I ended up buying two suits and a full set of items from the shop. We also needed the suits ready in a very short time (a week) and David was able to meet our time requirement too.We could not be so satisfied if we had not had Davids help!!! I can say quite honestly this is the first store to ever fully satisfy my clothing needs. The quality of the fabric, design, and hand picked selection is something you could get lost in for hours if you’re not careful, (which I was not). I came into to buy a dress shirt for a night out and ended up leaving with three Eton dress shirts, (by far the greatest shirts I have ever worn), leather suspenders, a full navy suit, and a beautiful tie designed by the owner David. Working with David 1 on 1 was an absolute delight. He has a wonderful sense of style and fit and is always happy to let you pick his brain on style and menswear. I am a 6.4 tall man with a thin waist and a rather large butt. This is great for basketball but has always made it incredibly difficult when finding correct fitting men’s clothing. Off the rack the slim fitting Eton shirts fit me like a glove. I have already worn a couple of the shirts and have received several compliments. I am receiving the suit today which is finished being tailored by a David and I’m sure it will be one of the best purchases of my life.David took the time to work with my and was very non pressuring in allowing me to decide what I did and did not like. Couture is an amazing shop. David was very welcoming from the moment I came in. After not finding anything that fit well at the big department stores, I was referred to Couture.David was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. After he did a phenomenal job acquiring/tailoring amazing suits for my brothers wedding locally, I knew I wanted to reach out to David for assistance with my own wedding, despite living across the country from his shop. David is a master tailor in every sense of the word. I explained I had no idea what I was looking for, and it was no problem for him. He picked out a few tuxes to try on, and patiently explained not only the what, but most importantly, the why of these fabrics, accessories, etc.Im glad to say Ive found a good friend and my clothing shop for all dress wear going forward. This is one of the best shops for mens clothing in the city. Its small, but they have a lot of top quality stuff for good prices. This is fine Italian wool clothing, if you want 2 shirts for $95 go across the street to Jos A Bank. If you want Super 150 Merino Wool or Eton shirts, this is the place or a step or two under, this is the place.Service. You couldnt ask for more. Ive worked with David and Stephen and they always take the time to make me feel welcome. Stephen has helped me greatly, he understood the look I was going after and helped me start out with a good base and from there we are branching out.Men, if you are looking to upgrade your wardrobe, get some good quality pieces, definitely check out Couture. The worst shopping experience ever. I went with my husband to buy couple of suits, we had an appointment for 3:30 PM and we walked in 3:15 pm the owner didnt want to even look at us! When my husband told him that were his next appointment his face turned black and said: come back at 4, youre late I have a costumer right now! I was astonished! He was the rudest person ever!Maybe he didnt like that Im wearing the hijab or that we werent his type of costumers.Or maybe he thought that we wont spend our money there.What a very rude and disrespectful individual!

Outstanding. personalized customer service that you just cant get at department stores. If you are looking for a nice, european suit, especially if you need tailoring you have to check Couture out.Right off the bat, David picked out the perfect suit for me. I tried on 8 more before deciding, but ended up going for the first one he pulled off the rack. Worst experience Ive ever had, I drove down from Hillsborough to buy a few suits . My friends who always dress sharp have bought few suits from this David character. I called David at 8:00am I told him how tight my schedule is and 3:30 would be the only time I can come on Friday... 3:15 I walked in I was wearing a flat bill hat and some jeans. My wife was also with me . As soon as he saw me his face cringed. It looked like he was working with fellow that looked pretty fancy. I looked at David and said Im your 3:30 . He immediately and obnoxiously said go and come back at 4 .. I stood confused and furious ! I knew exactly what he was thinking this guys not going to spend any money here.I own 4 companys with and I manage many employees and deal with many customers. I have never in my life experienced a behavioral like this . Ive heard but never thought in my wildest dreams to experience the ignorance I did yesterday.Since yesterday is my only day really that I had to ship for my suits i ended finding a great guy that Im glad I met and spent my money there. I.will be back and buy many more suit from him .This is the longest review Ive wrote and Im writing this with passion. Im so upset but glad that I just walked out and didnt tell him what was on my mind.I would urge anyone that experiences this while in a retail site to walk out because the clothing you can find anywhere. Customer services you cant .

I was looking for a suit for my wedding so I booked appointments with many tailors to see fabric and samples. David, the owner, was late for my appointment by approximately 15 mins. This was not a big problem as there isnt much he can do as he was attending another customer. He asked what my budget was and I answered $2000. Immediately, I hear a disappointing sound coming from him. Nevertheless, he helped me picked a 3 suits that fitted well and offered to reduced the price of 1 of them by $160 to exactly $2000 (the other 2 were sub-2000). I asked if it was alright for me to take photos of the suit as my fiancee isnt with me which he agreed. After trying the suits, he began picked out a tie and a shirt which were agreeable. Since I havent view a lot of suits, I wasnt ready to make a commitment what essentially should be an investment. At this point, I thanked him for the appointment and told him that I would make a decision soon after I visit the other tailors that I have prior appointments with. His attitude quickly soured. He began to question which other tailors I am seeing and whether or not I expect them to give me a better price. I was very clear when I made the appointment with him that I was not ready to make a decision. I think it is unreasonable for me to an informed decision on a dollar suit after trying on 3 suits.As I was able to leave the store, he rudely called me over with Come here. I did so. He then proceeded to tell me that I have wasted his time (I was there for approximately 20 mins) and that I need to delete the photos that I took of the suit (I guess he did not want me to show other tailors his merchandise). I deleted the photos as this is not someone I would want to deal business with. Other tailors that I have visited happily allowed me to take photos and fabric samples even though I told them that Ive made many appointments with different tailors.David is a wolf in sheeps clothing; he does not look for the best interest of his customers but simply view them as a way to get money.

Once, I got a great fitting suit on sale that I get lots of compliments on--plus Im not an easy fit considering my wider build on top (they really worked with me here). And this isnt even my favorite interaction with Couture...I later went to pick up some tailored jackets for a family member and one jacket was not in the store for the scheduled pick-up. The owner got on the phone with his tailor to hastily (and quite sternly) correct the issue as it should have been delivered that day. The tailor, whom the owner reassured was just a neighborhood away, came sprinting into the store with said jacket in hand about 10 min later. Yep, we all mess up sometimes but I give 5 stars b/c this showed me 1) the local craftsmanship 2) the relationship with their tailor and the thoughtfulness of care for the customer for him to run it over out of breath. Just true old fashion dedication to customer experience. They could have easily told me to come back another time. But from getting offered water each time I come in to sprinting to correct an order, these guys know how to take care of their clients.

David has been my go-to guy for my favorite suits and sport jackets for 15 years. Hes friendly, knowledgable and stylish himself. Great service and excellent value for high-end Italian menswear. I guarantee it!

Without a doubt, the finest european clothing, tailoring, and designing in the bay area. I brought David fabric I had purchased for my senior ball and he hand crafted me the most elequant tuxedo imaginable.
