Very good, fast and reliable service. Ken explained everything and cost to you and advise you best options.
They are SUPER RUDE.He explained to me that I should bring the bike in aNd he would let me know if they were interested they would work on the bike.He said Ill take a look at your bike, if Im interested Ill fix it... if not I wontWhat kind of business is this??I wouldnt bring dog here.!!!!
Kent has been my mechanic for 6 or 7 years.AWESOME GUY!!!!AWESOME MECHANIC!!!ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL!!!ALWAYS HONEST!!!I seriously dont think theres a better mechanic in the city. He always fixes my problems, I dont know what Id do without him. - Conrad
Kent, the master, is professional, knowledgeable, works fast, and never overcharged me for unnecessary stuff. I was a returning customer for years until I moved from the area.
Kent is great! He tuned up my Buddy 125 scooter a few months ago and spent a lot of time explaining everything to me. My scooter was later stolen and recovered, and Kent took the time to talk to me over the phone about my options for painting and repairing it without charging me. I would definitely recommend his shop.
Kent is the best! Hes very thorough and takes time to explain what he has to do and why.
Brought my CBR650 there multiple times and can confirm that Moto Garage is great – Kent gives solid and honest advice, walking you through options that help you make good decisions, instead of just giving you a sales pitch.
Best SF motorcycle mechanic
This is the best place in town for motorcycle and scooter service. Ive been using them for 4+ years and trust them emphatically. Trust is an important part of service for my bikes and Moto Garage has my trust.
I don’t usually leave reviews but Kent was absolutely disrespectful to me when I called. I’ve got a sr400 that I’m working on as a passion project and when I called asking if he could help me with rebuilding the engine he told me “I don’t think you could afford it”. Literal words out of his mouth. He didn’t even have the respect to meet me first. He didn’t ask anything about why I was doing it or my goals or even to hear me out. Just told me that I couldn’t afford it. I don’t care how “fair” he is or how much he knows about motorcycles that’s just straight up disrespectful. Just to clarify, I told him that I was willing to pay whatever the price because it’s my passion project & he told me to just take it to another shop. I noticed he had another review on google with someone who had a similar experience but he apologized profusely and said (direct quote) “I realize that there is more value to a bike than just the market value, and I lost sight of that fact... I always hope to improve and your review helped me re-think the approach I take”. It makes me sad to find that he hasnt changed at all.
Kent is the man. He gets every detail from me about what is wrong with my bike before starting on it, and then calls me with updates whenever any issues arise. Excellent and honest moto mechanic.
Old school mechanic that knows his stuff. Super busy. Dont be upset if you cant get a spot right away. Thats how the good small shops are.
Dont work on Cruiser bikes...really?
These guys were great. I needed a wheel alignment/chain tension adjustment before a big ride to visit some family, but I only had a day to get the work done before heading out. They were the only shop in SF willing to schedule me for same day work, and did a great job. Definitely going back.
Mr. Kent Lai is a real cool dude. He kept me updated on the repairs he did on my scooter. Also explained what needed to be done. All and all outstanding work. Thank you sir.
Kent is the best. He gets the job done right for a reasonable price
Very thorough looking at my motorcycle and updating me about what he recommended, letting me decide what I wanted to get done, and giving good estimates on price and the expected time it would take. I’ll be back next time I need interval maintenance or a new tire.
Very competent, super professional, likely the best value for money in town.I had a transmission issue of my scooter: Kent investigated the causes, sent to me pictures of damaged gears, gave me a fair quotation for repair (much better articulated than others in town!), quickly completed the work after receiving my approval. Moreover Kent showed all damaged pieces he had swapped, also giving me explanation that makes me understand how unprofessional, incompetent, dishonest was the shop that repaired my scooter for a similar issue just 18 months ago.Big kudos to Kent.I shall call him for my next maintenance (and I do recommend to check him first if you need)
Excellent, thorough service. Kent is great and did a great job on my Kymco scooter. I will be using him for my service and my wife will be as well. His rates are reasonable and he called me twice to check about things he found that needed fixing..And it is not downtown and closer to where we live. I highly recommend Moto Garage!
Great service, good price. Very helpful and down to explain what went wrong. Every. Single. Time!
Great shop! Saw me same day for a rear tire change. Good rates.
They know about scooters
Kent is an honest professional and very knowledgeable about bikes.specially euro bikes .
Kent is a great mechanic and a nice guy. Hes been patient and very knowledgeable in getting my old Honda CB500 back on the road. Allows you to order the parts and have them shipped to the shop, saving time and money. Its been a process, but I wouldnt want to work with anyone else. Top service, and value.
Kent worked through all the problems that I have experienced on my newly-brought 1975 Yamaha XS650. He is one great mechanic in the city, and very knowledgeable on vintage bikes. He also makes very useful suggestions on how to take care an old bike like mine. Moto garage is AWESOME!!!
I wanted to take a moment to say Kent, from Moto Garage is the place to go for your motorcycle needs. I called Kent to get a quote and set an appointment for new tires on my 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX636. The same day I was able to drop off my bike at his shop and ended up getting a great deal for tire install, oil & break fluid change.Kent is very knowledgeable and provided me a lot of advice as well as different ways to save money with any future maintenance. He wont try to up-sell you or get you to fix things that you dont need.Lastly, Kent has done a few more thing to my bike that he did for FREE. 1. Adjusted my Clutch, 2. Adjusted my idle, 3. Checked my breaks,4. Replaced some missing bolts, & 5. Cleaned up my bike to make it nice and shiny.I will definitely bring my bike here again! Kent is an upfront, honest, and funny guy. You will not regret coming here!
Ken is amazing- I have my tires changed with him and he always runs other diagnostics and checks up on parts that might be getting old. He works quickly and economically, and my bike comes back to me in great shape.
This repair shop is a one-man show. But, he is great. I cant emphasize enough how efficient and skillful he is. I gave my bike to a famous motorcycle dealer for repair. They did an lousy job and in fact they messed up with by motorcycle chain that could have been very dangerous for me. Then, I brought it to Kent at Moto Garage. He checked out my bike and repair everything in a very fast and efficient manner at a very reasonable price. He is new in this place but he has 15 plus years of experience. I strongly suggest this place.
Great shop! Owner knows his stuff
Not me but my fiance, she called and requested an estimate to have a tire fitted to a rim, which she will bring in. He took care of it right away, and sent her off. Even offered to carry it back to her car. All for a great rate! Thanks for the awesome customer service, we will be back for additional services.
Just moved to the city and I needed some repairs done. Very satisfied with the customer service so far. Highly recommend this place!
I dropped off my FZ1 for an issue that another shop couldnt figure out. Moto Garage figured it out and fixed my bike sooner than expected. They were also great about responsiveness and keeping me updated along the way. Will definitely be back for any future work.
Quality work. Ken will explain the what and whys.
Came in for an oil change and tire rotation. Emil worked on it for me the moment I got in. Only costed me a total of $60 for both and only tool an hour. Emil is also a great and friendly guy. Highly recommend this garage.
Kent is awesome... Nuff said.
Hes shyed away from my old triumph, called me stupid when i told him i wanted a new suspension, telling me the bike isnt worth the work. i want performance upgrades on my classic cafe racer, exhaust, chains and sprockets to begin with, and then go from there. he looked at me like an idiot. hes a practical mechanic, dont expect anything fancy/cool or original.....I do however believe he is an honest mechanic and with plenty of experience.
Googled reviews for a shop near Top of the Hill Daly City...read the reviews for Kents shop, Moto Garage SF...didnt disappoint...I had a front tire on my Honda Shadow that was going flat...brought it in Saturday a.m....he called at noon and said it was ready...when I came in to pick up the bike he had done some minor adjustments because he noticed bike was running a little rich...I found in talking to Kent HE KNOWS BIKES...I think Ive found My Bike Mechanic...
2002 bajaj legend has kept inside garage for 10 years! Kent made it relife in 2 days. Explianing detail, good price, quick service, referral reasonable price bike tow truck. Thank you
Excellent and knowledgeable on old bikes, British and German. Understands the issues concerning older bikes and how they work, and more importantly how they are serviced. Very few places left in SF that have this level of knowledge. BSA/Norton/Triumph and BMW friendly. High tech tire setup (including tubed tires), wheel building, engine and resto work. Clean shop. Has whitworth tools and knows about old Brits.
This place is spectacular! Honest work and great customer service. Thanks Again!
Great service and good price
Glad to have found this place! Its not always easy to find a trustworthy mechanic. Look no further.
Not a good person... he charge way more money than other shops. .. rude service..
Great mechanic, up-front pricing, quality work and easy to get to. What else could you ask for?
Had to get some work done on my bike and the usual mechanics I go to were busy. Moto garage took me in and got me out same day.
Does great work and quick tire changes I give them two thumbs up.
So glad I found MotoGarage and Kent. He quickly hooked me up with a front tire install on my 2009 CBR 600rr. I am always on the look out for an honest mechanic and Im sure I found it with Kent. I will be going there from now on. He is also a 5 min ride from my house.
Moto Garage is pretty much the only honest bike repair shop in the city.
This guy blasts every stereotype about shady mechanics! Super fair prices, honest, and very knowledgeable. Extremely thorough, transparent, and offers both options and recommendations. Under promises and over performs. Hell find what other mechanics miss. After 22k miles, I can keep poppin wheelies and endos on my 87 honda elite scooter like a boss. Worth the ride or tow out there.
Excellent work!, great pricing!
Very bad service, we went for an estimate and before he checked the bike he started given as high prices
This is my guy when Im in a situation
Honest and easy to work with.
Good service
