Every time I go, they have the friendliest staff! Great service, highly recommend. They take responsibility and accountability over their work, above and beyond
The guys took on my bike and replaced my front tire within one hour! We are headed back to Oklahoma 1700 miles so we needed it taken care of quick! They were awesome! Definitely recommend
I love these guys. They are on of the best shops in SF. Great work, decent prices, and phenomenal customer service. Ive had all kinds of things done here and they never let me down.
Ive been taking my bike to these guys for the past 8 years and theyre awesome. Their work is solid, staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and after a few visits you get the feeling the owner really loves motorcycles and trying to do the absolute best for the people who come to his shop. Cant say enough good things about these guys, theyve definitely gone the extra mile more than once for me and I wouldnt think of going to another shop.
Highy Recommended!I was commuting to work about 3 blocks away from this shop, and all of sudden my clutch cable snapped off right in front of Tokyo Moto. (Super Lucky)I think Shawn was on the phone and quickly help me and even though my bike is Harley, they kindly help me to fix it. (They usually fix Japanese & European bikes)Because they have to order parts and it took 2-3 days to arrive they able to fix if on Friday! With reasonable price.I’ll definitely will be back next time for tire change if they willing to take American bikes again. :)Thanks again for the great work and professionalism!
Amazing experience selling my bike! Shawn was accommodating of my rough schedule during a move, which made the process super easy for me.He told me to take my bike back out for a few more rides then bring it in a couple weeks before my move.Super chill guy, everyone in the shop is hard at work!
I want to love this place but I need to be honest to help others make a better choice. I brought my Suzuki GXS-R for service. I was very specific with Malcolm about getting the motorcycle tuned up and ready to be sold. The chain was extremity lose; that was the main reason for me to bring it in. I said tighten the chain, check the front tire for leaks and and do a tune up. The tune up was the icing in the cake. I received a phone call to let me know that they were advising to replace the chain and the front tire. However, he failed to tell me that the chain could not be adjusted anymore. He never asked what I wanted to do; that’s what a mechanic is suppose to do. The tune up or the chain or both. The front tire was low on air because I had not used the bike in a while but it is in good condition. I assumed the chain had been tighten and that it would have to eventually replaced.I take the bike home, and realized the chain had not been tighten at all. It absolutely needed to be replaced. That the screws that hold the seat in place were missing and my rear brakes were completely gone. To me, a tuneup is a general basic inspection of a vehicle. The fact that all of these was missed, that I wasn’t advised about either the screws, the breaks snd Instead I was being upsold a front tire that I didn’t need, is very disappointing.I haven’t worked in 10 months and I said that to Malcom a couple of times. A good honest mechanic would have screwed the seat in place. He would have most definitely advice to replace the chain and explain why. This is an absolute safety issue as opposed to the tune up. He would have given me the choice before doing anything and he would most definitely would have advised about the rear breaks as they can be checked by touch and without having to test ride the bike.I was basically charged $130 for an oil change that took 15 minutes and that I could have done my self. I called back and instead of rectifying the problem, I was involved in a pointless argument. I was ultimately offered 10% in parts and 10% in labor. Not sure why he would break it up like that but that’s 10% of the total. I am not coming back and would not recommend.
Tokyo moto is great. Almost every time I go in, I learn something new from talking with these guys (especially Sean). The conversation can be about anything from tires to something as trivial as an oil plug, and I leave with a new understanding of how these things are manufactured, why they work the way they do, etc. It’s like a 101 class on the proper application of motorcycle parts.Beyond the incredible knowledge base, the customer service and warmth here are unparalleled. I’ve been to motorcycle shops all across the US, and this is really what a professional motorcycle shop should be. As a very picky motorcyclist, I can say they’ve checked every box, every time. If you care about your bike, just take it here.
Tokyo Moto was able to service my bike the same day I called. They replaced my rear tire without issue. I would recommend this place. 🏍👍
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Shawn is AWESOME.
Ever since I found Tokyo Moto, they restored my faith in motorcycle shops in the Bay area. No pretentiousness or Euro enough ! I Would sure hope not considering there name! Seriously though very professional.but Its easy to feel like they are your friends from the start. And after going to this shop for close to 6 years that feeling hasnt changed only become more true. No sales pitching stuff or trying to up-sell product. Quality service with knowledgeable folks who ride as well as fix bikes. I definitely would recommend Tokyo Moto..
Best shop in the Bay, hands down. This shop is as down-to-earth as they come. Shaun, the owner and his crew will take the time to explain all questions that you may have. I bought my bike from him and he cares about the client not only through the process, but after I took ownership as well. Cant express my relief of knowing shops and an owner like him are still around.
I dropped by today for an oil change on my bike and I received some great service. Simple and honest. I recommend this place!
Excellent experience! Very professional, friendly and helpful! Purchased a used motorcycle there. These guys were honest and fair with me - told all pros and cons about the motorcycle, changed the oil before the transfer. I wish all moto shops were like them. And yes, Ive found the shop Ill be servicing my motorcycles going forward.
Awesome guys. I had my chain break on my bike while riding and needed a replacement QUICK. These guys were very helpful and went above and beyond just selling me a chain. The owner gave me what I needed to get my bike back to the shop and helped me rivet the chain once it was there. Really excellent service.
Its great that these guys are open on Mondays!Ive known Shawn and Scott for years and I always feel like I can trust them to take care of my motorcycle.Top notch!
Shaun and his wife are amazing. I first met Shaun a few years ago when purchasing a CBR1000RR from a Craigslist ad. Ive come back for repairs and more motorcycle shopping and have had nothing but positive experiences with Shaun and his team every single time, without fail. They are very extremely knowledgeable, kind, friendly, transparent, honest and trustworthy. If you are in the market for a bike or a repair shop, look no further. You cannot go wrong with Shaun and his team. I dont live in the area anymore, but my experiences working with Shaun and the TokyoMoto team will always be a fond memory, and if I am ever back in the area to purchase a bike or get a repair, I will be back for sure.
This is the best shop in San Francisco! The owner and head mechanic are very honest and consider safety first when giving advice on repairs and maintenance. Tokyo Moto is the only place Ill take my motorcycles after other local shops overcharged and under performed.
I have been working with this shop for a long, long time and have found them to be honest, fair, friendly, and awesome to do business with. They have a top notch service department, and, with a large used motorcycle inventory for sale on their floor, they are one of the best used motorcycle dealers in San Francisco.
Shawn & Scotty are both A level master techs. Fast. Friendly. Honest. Close. See them before you need them, and trust your machine on every ride.
Got me in for a same day tire fixing, reasonably priced, nice people, and they seem very trust worthy. I will be back. By far better than my experiences at other shops so far.
God, where to start. Been riding since 2005, and have tried the various other shops. Then I discovered Tokyo Moto a few years back. This place is amazing and the only place I will trust in San Francisco. Trusting is huge for me. Feels like home now and I hope they are around forever. Plus Shawn looks a little like Tim Oliphant.
These guys do amazing work. Fixed my bike really well and at a good price. Only down side is lack of updates when time table changes.
Amazing repair shop!!! After breaking second gear on my mother bad bro I struggled for about four months to find anyone who could help me with it. When every other shop turned me down, Sean from Tokyo Moto took me in and helped me with absolutely everything I needed. In just a couple weeks they completely overhauled my bike rebuilding the engine and transmission. They did a fantastic job and when I came to pick the bike up watch me through every single thing that they replaced and worked on. This will be the only shop I take my bike to for the rest of my ownership and I highly recommend them for any bike.
What a great shop!I went in to TokyoMoto to fix a broken peg on my Yamaha FZ07,and Received excellent service from Malcolm start to finish. He explained what I needed in terms of part, presented different options for me, answered all questions that I had about the bike in terms as use, maintenance suggestions and possible upgrades..I was pleasantly surprised about the service and Malcolms knowledge, and whole heartily recommend TokyoMoto to anyone and everyone!
Alex and Co was beyond helpful with fair prices. As an assistant to someone short on time, the motorcycle was done by the next day. You guys will be my go to if anyone needs scooter or motorcycle repairs! Thanks Tokyo Moto
This is hands down the best shop in San Francisco— trust me Ive been to most! The owner cares about his customers and has a wealth of sage motorcycle advice. Ive had my bike stolen, knocked over, and wrecked over the course of 4 years and Tokyo Moto always gets it back running like new again. Thanks for everything guys!
$120 for labor doesnt give you any room to wiggle. $100 oil change cost $5 in Thailand.
Not only did they fix my R1s clutch after the Yamaha Dealership completely botched the repair, they correctly diagnosed and fixed what caused the clutch to go out the first time (again something the dealership 100% failed to do). TokyoMoto has a Gold Level Yamaha mechanic (the highest tier), and guess what the dealership has a 0 tier mechanic who failed to reassemble a clutch correctly. There is a reason these guys are rated the best: my bike is running better today than when I bought it 40K miles ago.
You want work done right the first time? THIS IS YOUR PLACE.The only place in the city I would trust to touch my bikes. Service here is spot on as they are always suggesting what needs to be done and keeping it well within my budget! These guys are absolutely great. The owner is a real stand up guy and always shoots it with me straight. Not to mention there is this real sexy blonde boy who works the front desk!Keep up the good work!
Im a repeat customer of this shop. They are straightforward and honest in regards to what needs repairs. The price is well worth the work. I wouldn’t go to any other shop. Definitely recommend if looking for excellent work and customer service. Thank you to the whole TokyoMoto crew, you definitely have a customer for life.
First time dealing with these guys, but I have to say they are now my heros. Came into their shop with an emergency repair request and they didnt even blink. They assessed the situation, gave a quote, expressed a worse case scenario, and got right to it. You cant ask for more than that. When your traveling by motorcycle, and an emergency repair is needed- your at the mercy of a shop you dont know. These guys where awesome, and the quote was acceptable. I highly recommend these guys.
They do unnecessary work and charge you for it. Make sure to get multiple opinions and do your research. I guarantee most of the reviews are fake accounts or people that had no service preformed. Had a wrong part put in and was not offered an exchange but told that I needed more work done to fix it. Had to pay to have the correct part installed and fixed all the issues I was having.Be careful of these charlatans!
Great service! Fixed up my bike which hadnt gotten a tune up in 15,000 miles in just 2 days and it runs amazing now.
Experienced, knowledgable, and genuinely helpful staff really try to bend over backward for their clients at a reasonable price. If you got a bike and need it fixed, this is one of the two BEST in The City.
Very friendly, knowledgable staff and cool artwork. I went in while visiting the area and they made me feel right at home. I wish they had a shop on the east coast.
Nice guys, great service, and they do an excellent job! Ive used them several times for both tire changes and leaking fork seals. I will use them again!
Great place reasonable service fees. Highly recommended.
Great staff. Fixed my bike up after SFMoto messed it up.
Great service, friendly staff, surprisingly clean shop full of sexy bikes. As a new rider Ive appreciated the advice and care I get when I visit.
Friendly and fast service. These guys are honest and inexpensive
Love this place they have help me with my triumph they are way better than Monroe motors the dealer for my triumph. Front desk ppl are nice and the mechanics know what they are doing.
Great desk staff (a rarity), reasonable shop rates, good quality work.
Great place if youre rich, but not a great place if youre trying to save money. SF is the most expensive city in the USA, so dont expect any discounts at this place. Seriously.
Great Service Again. This is the only repair shop Ill bring my bike to.
Good location.. I was annoying and tried to get them to price match a online tire. Their purchasing power cant match.. Came back a week later with my adventure;s front and rear tire, purchaced online... they changed the tires, front and back for 60 something bucks ( not the 25 they quoted me,, im sure there was disposal and tax, maybe balance weights) They are super nice, Quick turnaround without an appointment, ( i showed up at 9am opening) and have a few decently priced used bikes inside. Im going to go here from now on.. Not corporate feeling.. open mondays is a huggggggggge plus..
It is a great place to buy a bike. They truly care about customers, super friendly.
Shawn and Malcolm are always willing to help out with any questions I have and fulfill all expectations that are set when working on the bike.Thank you!
Best motorcycle shop in San Francisco, filled with sweaty men working hard
Friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. Willing to go the extra mile.
Gotta fix yer ride. This is the spot. No bs.
Best shop I have ever been to, very helpful, very honest.
Their customer service is not great kind of rude and thats being nice about it they are very rude
I have a bike for a few years now and Tokyo Moto has been the best shop experience I have ever had. Ive never met people as knowledgable, understanding, and talented as the staff there. I personally dont know much about the mechanics of my bike, but I was always walked through repairs to the point where I was comfortable with the work I had done. There were never any surprises and often the bike would come out with even more work done than I had even asked for (e.g. missing screwed placed, etc.)As a Palo Alto resident I would always make the drive up to Tokyo Moto for my repairs, because the drive is worth the quality and experience I have always had there. Best repair shop in the Bay Area by a longshot
Best shop in town, hands down.
Great service, easy to work with!
Friendly staff, knowledgeable about bikes.
Best moto shop in the city
Good attitudes, experienced staff, trustworthy.
Fast service, cozy place.
I went in today after my clutch cable snapped nearby. They didnt have it with them, but called around and found another store that did. To be clear, they didnt have to do this, since I was planning to install the cable myself, but they helped anyway.
Does not do Harley Davidson Tires
A lot of motorcycle equipment
Excellent seller
Visit a bit, cool
Delicious
Thanks Tokyo Moto
